Generation sql script form export dump
I have a export dump of oracle 9i database at table level. Now I have to generate all the sqls which are in that export dupm file. Is there any way without importing this export file I can generate sql script???
Thanks in advance!!!
Suraj
Hi,
As correctly said by yingkuan use the indexfile option in imp.It would create a file like below
REM CREATE TABLE "SCOTT"."XYZ" ("ENO" NUMBER, "ENAME" VARCHAR2(20),
REM "DEPTNO" NUMBER) PCTFREE 10 PCTUSED 40 INITRANS 1 MAXTRANS 255
REM STORAGE(INITIAL 65536 FREELISTS 1 FREELIST GROUPS 1) TABLESPACE
REM "TS_DBUSER" LOGGING NOCOMPRESS ;
REM ... 10 rows
if ur on linux/solaris u can delete the REM by using awk command like
awk '{ $1= ""; print}' <filename>
and this should be somewhat ready for you to run as a script in sqlplus :)
Thanks

SQL script for exporting table
Could anyone please help me with SQL (plain SQL, not PL/SQL) for writing the data from a table into a .csv file?
I need to run it on SQL developer. Can't use spool because it works only on SQL*PLus
Edited by: user10403078 on Oct 15, 2008 2:24 AMBut I want the SQL script to create a CSV file, because it should write the data from the tables into a CSV file, and proceed to delete it from the tables, every time the SQL script is run. I can't manually click and save.

Re-ordering of SQL-script when exporting/importing a BA
Our Discoverer environment is divided up in multiple business areas (development, test and live). To move reports and business areas between these areas, we've been using import/export business areas. Recently, I made a business area in development with a report to track raw materials and test results from finished goods - through several loops of the stocktrans table. Using the same variables I end up with a 80 second performance on the development business area with report, but moving the report to test this performance exploded to 1,260 seconds.
I looked into the SQL statements and found that tables were loaded in the order they were included in the development BA, but they were loaded in alphabetical order in the test BA. I'm not sure if this could be the cause of the heavy performance decrease, but it's the only thing that I changed from BA to BA.
Anyone notice similar performance variances due to import/export of business areas?Hello Steve,
keep in mind that everything you see in either iMovie or iDVD is a preview - and, of course, only the end result counts ....
As for switching to a high definition camera: my advice would be to buy a MiniDV based HDV camcorder (e.g. Sony HDR-HC or Panasonic HV series). Most of these cameras shoot in 1080i, where the i stands for interlaced - as opposed to p for progressive - and thus you'll have to edit in that format unless you convert the footage first.
If you absolutely want to shoot progressive, you'll have to either spend $$$$ or resort to an AVCHD camcorder which records in some flavor of h.264/MPEG-4 .... IMHO not the best choice.
Another thought here: if you absolutely want to de-interlace your footage, have a look at JES Deinterlacer (freeware): http://www.xs4all.nl/~jeschot/home.html
hope this helps

Hi Folks,
I used expdp utility to export all Oracle scheduler jobs and chains with below method, after that generate sql script by impdp, later on executing sql script encountered some errors.
Only chain step and chain rule for executing script. Does anyone bright me some light? Thanks!
My env: Oracle 11g + Oracle Linux 5.5
My steps as below:
1. export(expdp) oracle scheduler job(chain)
2. generate sql script by impdp.
3. remove orginal scheduler job(chain)
4. execute sql script
5. job with no chain well but job with chain failed

How-to Generate Script from the export dump file
Hi all,
Software : Oracle 10gR2/Windows 2003
=============================
Has anyone generated a Script from a export dump file ( exported via data pump export). I know it is possible to generate script from the regular export.
I want to know how to generate the script for various objects or is it possible to get the counts of types of objects in the dump file and / or generate the script from the export dump file exported via data pump utility on Oracle 10g.
Thanks,
SSI want to know how to generate the script for various objects.what do you mean by scripts? Assuming the metadata definitions of various objects.
First of all, you can generate the metadata definitions using import.
Use, Impdp with SQLFILE parameter to generate the SQL file for the metadata definitions.

Scripting Oracle export and import dumps
Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to script oracle export and import dump commands in a PL/SQL package rather than at command prompt. Also, how can i copy the export dump files across the network to a specific location.
I would really appreciate if someone can provide me with examples????
Thanks.Yes, there's DBMS_JOB on 9i, it's sort of DBMS_SCHEDULER's 'grampa' ;)
Check the 9i docs (http://tahiti.oracle.com) and do some searches here and on http://asktom.oracle.com for more info.
Hoewever, in order to execute OS-commands, you'll probably need a JAVA wrapper.
DBMS_JOB cannot do that.
Examples can be found here:

Scripting oracle export and import dumps through PLSQL stored procedures
Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to script oracle export and import dump commands in a PL/SQL package rather than at command prompt. Also, how can i copy the export dump files across the network to a specific location.
I would really appreciate if someone can provide me with examples????
OR
If there is off the shelf solution for what i am trying to achieve?
Many Thanks.Hello,
there are many ways to do this:
- Java with PL/SQL wrapper,
- call C code as external procedure from PL/SQL,
- DBMS_SCHEDULER has some features related to this as well,
- or write your own logic: for example creating a new file with UTL_FILE could be the trigger of the export.

How to run a sql script in oracle forms
Hi,
For me there is an sql script. I need to run that sql script in forms.
Actually we will run that sql file in pl/sql developer by giving @and the file name.
But how to run that file in forms.
Can any one help on these.Which book I have to look.
ThanksActually there is a script files which will drop all the indexes and tables.
DROP querry will be there for each index and each table.
So I run the script all the indexes and all the tables will be deleted. So using forms I have to run that script.
Thanks -
Export dump file and log file name as sysdate in script
Hi to All,
Can anybody help me to give logical backup export dump file namd log file name is as contain sysdate in its name so that we can Uniquelly identified it.
Regards
DXB_DBAOn windows it gets a bit hairy as there really is no clean and nice way of doing it.There are a couple of options.
1. If you can rely on dateformat not changing, you can use a static substring expression. For example, the following might work w/ finnish locale echo %date:~3,2%%date:~6,2%%date:~9,4%Similarly, when you know the dateformat you can tokenize the output of 'date /t' and discard the tokens you don't want.
2. You can set dateformat to your liking and then just use %date% in your script
3. You can run a "SELECT to_char(sysdate,..." into a file and then read that file in your script.
4. Simon Sheppard also has a solution you could use as a basis. I have a slight issue with the approach, but that could just be me.
5. Use gnuwin32 or similar ;)
Also note that %date% env var is set automatically from w2k onwards, so some of the solutions might not work w/ older versions. -
Error in SQL script generated from OWB 10.1.0.4.0 Metadata Export Bridge
Hi... maybe i´m abusing this forum .. but .. when you have questions .. you have to look for answers
I use OWB 10.1.0.4 to buid some dimensions and one cube. I validate and generate this object and the result was successful.
I made the deployment and everithing goes OK !!!.
The problem appears when i want to generate metadata over this objects. I use the option Project > Metadata > Export > Gridge and use the option "Oracle 9i OLAP" like the product where i want to transfer the metadata .. and i got the SQL script without any errors. I suppose that i take the sql script i run it into SQL*plus ... so i do it.. and i got this errors:
declare
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-06501: PL/SQL: program error
ORA-06512: at line 119
ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled user-defined exception
The same error for any dimension in script..
Any help .. will be fully valued for me ..
best regards
Lisandro. But how did you identify that there are no runtime records in all_rt_audit_executions for your PL/SQL procedure?
I guess you tried to search by procedure name... (but what column you used for searching)
In my case all_rt_audit_executions and wb_rtv_audit_executions contains the same number of records, so they should be always in sync.

Howto export table structure as sql script.
is there any way to export the table structure and thier linkage from oracle db into standard sql script?
thanksSorry, this is the Oracle Repository forum.
However, Perform an oracle export from the schema i.e.
exp un/pw rows=n
and then perform an import:
imp un/pw indexfile=afile.txt
This will will have all the structure you need but will need editing to create a runnable script.
Alternatively use Oracle Designer to reverse engineer your schema, the DDL can then be generated.

11g upgrade script gen_inst.sql fails to export all users
I'm trying to upgrade a database from 10g XE to 11g XE; however, the upgrade script gen_inst.sql that's included with the installation media fails to include all of the database users in the sql file it generates. Out of 33 users, only 3 are included in the ws.sql file that is created. I can't seem to find any difference between the users that are included and those that are missed, all have the same roles and default tablespaces, but I'm new to Oracle XE so I might be missing something. Does anyone know why the script might miss certain users?
The homepage says its Application Express 2.1.0.00.39.
If I'm understanding this correctly there should still be more than 3 schema owners, for example when I run the query "select distinct owner from dba_tables" I see the rest of the users that I was expecting.
When I imported the data onto the 11g server (using impdp) I can see in the logs that it's importing the other schemas (e.g. imported "MP_DOC"."TEXT" ... in this case MP_DOC does not show up in the list of workspaces or users after running the install.sql script, but MP_DOUG does, and from what I can see they both should be there).
My apologies if I'm not being clear or understanding this right. -
Export Billing SAP script forms
Hi All,
I am changing SAP supplied SAP script forms SD_EXPORT_FUCI to ZSD_EXPORT_FUCI.
In it i am trying to change the page windows sizes but unable do it. Can anyone suggest how to do it or can't we change it?
Thanks,
Anuj SaraswatHi Anuj,
Did you copy it in a different language and chose the option "Keep in original language'. If yes, then your script might be created in two languages and in order to make changes in the sizes of the windows, tabs etc(except text elements) you would need to make changes in the original language which should be 'DE'.
Please award points if useful.
Thanks

Sql Script containing INSERT INTO TABLE_NAME taking very long time
Version:11g
I have a .sql file which contains insert statements for the table ZIP_CODES like.
INSERT INTO ZIP_CODES (ZIP_CODE, CITY, PROV, COUNTRY_CODE, LONGITUDE, LATITUDE)
VALUES (..........);This sql file contains above 800,000 INSERT statements like these! Execution of this file takes around 20 minutes.
Our client insists that they need a script to create this table and not a dump file (export dump of just this table)
Is there any way i could speed up these INSERTs in this script. I have added a commit half way through this file because i was worried about UNDO tablespace.
This table (ZIP_CODES) is not dependant on any other table (no FKs, no FK references,..).
Edited by: Steve_74 on 03-Sep-2009 05:53One possible option is to use External Tables
1. Create a CSV file with the values to be stored in the table.
2. Create an directory object (The location where the CSV file will be stored)
3. Create an External Table pointing to the CSV file
4. Just do a INSERT INTO ZIP_CODES SELECT * FROM <external table> (may be try to use a APPEND hint)
5. Drop the Directory object and External Table.
