Howto export table structure as sql script.

is there any way to export the table structure and thier linkage from oracle db into standard sql script?
thanks

Sorry, this is the Oracle Repository forum.
However, Perform an oracle export from the schema i.e.
exp un/pw rows=n
and then perform an import:
imp un/pw indexfile=afile.txt
This will will have all the structure you need but will need editing to create a runnable script.
Alternatively use Oracle Designer to reverse engineer your schema, the DDL can then be generated.

  • Help needed in Exporting tables data through SQL query

    Hi All,
I need to write a shell script(ksh) to take some of the tables data backup.
The tables list is not static, and those are selecting through dynamic sql
    query.
Can any body tell help me how to write the export command to export tables
which are selected dynamically through SQL query.
    I tried like this
    exp ------ tables = query \" select empno from emp where ename\= \'SSS\' \"
but its throws the following error
EXP-00035: QUERY parameter valid only for table mode exports
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
You can dynamically generate parameter file for export utility using shell script. This export parameter file can contain any table list you want every time. Then simply run the command
    $ exp parfile=myfile.txt

  • Export tables and data

    Hi everybody,
I'm new in SQL Developer and I would like to know if I could use it to export some tables (and the data in them) and import these on another machine (with Windows OS) that has the same versions of Oracle Database (10 G R2) and SQL Developer(last I have found on the Oracle download page).
If this can be done, could you guide me with some steps?
    Thanks a lot!
    Cristina

To export tables (structure), it is enough to go to the menu Tools > Export and to choose a path and name for the archive, to select the connection and the objects (in the case = TABLES) that will be exported.
How much to the data, I do not know if a skill exists to export all the data of several (or all) of an only time, without having that to make one to one.

  • Calling a SQL script from the PL/SQL block.

    Hello All,
I am using oracle 11g database.
My requirment is as follows. I have a SQL script to alter the table. But before alter the table I need to test some condition , if the condition satisfy then I have to alter the table through the SQL script. For the checking the condition I have to use the plsql block and inside I need to call the SQL script.
Can I call a SQL script from PL/SQL block, if yes then how?
I am tring to use START, RUN and @ command but it is throughing error.
    Thanks
    SUN

[PL/SQL manual|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96540/functions55a.htm#77600] Ctrl-F start, finds nothing. [SQLPlus manual|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14357/toc.htm] Ctrl-F start finds this. Isn't it wonderful that Oracle documents this stuff so we don't have to guess.
Can I call a SQL script from PL/SQL block, if yes then how? No.
You could call the stored procedure in a SQL*Plus script before the alter table and have it raise an exception if the condition is not met and have the script quit when there is an error.

  • BI 7 : Command to export a table structure of SAP R/3 into a script/text ?

    Hi All.
    Greetings.
Am New to SAP R/3 system.  And request help.
We are trying to pull data from SAP R/3 thro Bussiness Objects Data Services into Oracle.
For now : we create a target oracle table looking at the table structure of SAP R/3 from SE 11.
In BODS, We then do the query transformation, and use the oracle target table created by us manually.
    This works absolutely fine.
We would like to know the command by which we could export the table structure of any existing table
in SAP R/3 into a script / or to text file,
which we could use to create the same table structure in oracle.
Rather than manually typing some 200 field names for each tables.
    Can anyone advise on this.
    Thanks

    Hello,
The problem is caused due to the spaces in your directories
    C:\SAP Dumps\Core Release SR1 Export_CD1_51019634/DB/ADA/DBSIZE.XML
Replace the spaces with underscores and restart the installation from from scratch.

get a defintion that can be run on another database.
CREATES SCRIPT TO RECREATE A TABLE-STRUCTURE
    INCL. STORAGE, CONSTRAINTS, TRIGGERS ETC.
This script creates scripts to recreate a table structure.
Use the script to reorganise a table that has become fragmented,
to get a definition that can be run on another database/schema or
as a basis for altering the table structure (eg. drop a column!).
IMPORTANT: Running the script is safe as it only creates two new scripts and
does not do anything to your database! To get anything done you have to run the
    scripts created.
The created scripts does the following:
    1. save the content of the table
    2. drop any foreign key constraints referencing the table
    3. drop the table
    4. creates the table with an Initial storage parameter that
will accomodate the entire content of the table. The Next
parameter is 25% of the initial.
The storage parameters are picked from the following list:
    64K, 128K, 256K, 512K, multiples of 1M.
    5. create table and column comments
    6. fill the table with the original content
    7. create all the indexes incl storage parameters as above.
    8. add primary, unique key and check constraints.
    9. add foreign key constraints for the table and for referencing
    tables.
    10.Create the table's triggers.
    11.Compile any depending objects (cascading).
    12.Grant table and column privileges.
    13.Create synonyms.
This script must be run as the owner of the table.
If your table contains a LONG-column, use the COPY
command in SQL*Plus to store/restore the data.
    USAGE
    from SQL*Plus:
    start reorgtb
This will create the scripts REORGS1.SQL and REORGS2.SQL
REORGS1.SQL contains code to save the current content of the table.
REORGS2.SQL contains code to rebuild the table structure.

  • Generating SQL Script for Existing Tables and DBs

    Hello,
is it possible to generate automatically a SQL-Script from an existing table or oracle database ?
I want to export an existing table from an Oracle DB (g11) if its possible with the data.
Perhaps somebody could me explain how to to do this.
I am using the "SQL Developer 2.1" and the "enterprise manager konsole".
I'm a rookie in using this tools.
    Thank you for any informations.
    N. Wylutzki

If you want to export data, you should use the export utility. This is documented:
    http://tinyurl.com/23b7on

  • Generation sql script form export dump

I have a export dump of oracle 9i database at table level. Now I have to generate all the sqls which are in that export dupm file. Is there any way without importing this export file I can generate sql script???
    Thanks in advance!!!
    Suraj

    Hi,
As correctly said by yingkuan use the indexfile option in imp.It would create a file like below
REM CREATE TABLE "SCOTT"."XYZ" ("ENO" NUMBER, "ENAME" VARCHAR2(20),
REM "DEPTNO" NUMBER) PCTFREE 10 PCTUSED 40 INITRANS 1 MAXTRANS 255
    REM STORAGE(INITIAL 65536 FREELISTS 1 FREELIST GROUPS 1) TABLESPACE
    REM "TS_DBUSER" LOGGING NOCOMPRESS ;
    REM ... 10 rows
if ur on linux/solaris u can delete the REM by using awk command like
    awk '{ $1= ""; print}' <filename>
and this should be somewhat ready for you to run as a script in sqlplus :)
    Thanks

  • Export scheduler job but chain step and chain rule failed with ORA-24150 ORA-06512 during executed sql script.

    Hi Folks,
I used expdp utility to export all Oracle scheduler jobs and chains with below method, after that generate sql script by impdp, later on executing sql script encountered some errors.
Only chain step and chain rule for executing script. Does anyone bright me some light? Thanks!
My env: Oracle 11g + Oracle Linux 5.5
    My steps as below:
    1. export(expdp) oracle scheduler job(chain)
    2. generate sql script by impdp.
    3. remove orginal scheduler job(chain)
    4. execute sql script
    5. job with no chain well but job with chain failed

So I tried to create evaluation context and re-executed script(only exception setion.) the first error has gone. For the second still have some issue.
