Get always the same rows in a query.

I have a characteristic with three values as a master records, the values are:
T1 – Incoming payments
T2 – Outgoing payments
T3 – Not yet assigned payments
I have an InfoProvider (InfoCube) that has this characteristic assigned (and many others), if the InfoCube does not contain any value with the data “T2” for that characteristic the row for “T2” is not shown in the query.
I would like all the values of the characteristic to be shown in the query no matter if the InfoCube contains values or not. It means that the query should always have the same number of rows, in the e.g. it should show three rows, one for each master record.

O.K.
What I want to avoid is the message “No Applicable Data Found”, I would like to see all the selections define on the structure even if the InfoCube does not contain data for the selection defined.
The query would be shown this way if there is any data in the InfoCube concerning to the filters applied (filter year=2006):
Year     2006
Planning Level          January     February
Incoming payments     T1     220,00     250,00
Outgoing payments     T2     -160,00     -210,00
Not assigned payments     T3     0,00     0,00
Total          60,00     40,00
The query would be shown this way if there is no data in the InfoCube concerning to the filters applied  (filter year=2007):
Year     2007
No Applicable Data Found
I would like the query to be shown this way even if there is no data in the InfoCube concerning to the filters applied (filter year = 2007):
Year     2006
Planning Level          January     February
Incoming payments     T1     0,00     0,00
Outgoing payments     T2     0,00     0,00
Not assigned payments     T3     0,00     0,00
Total          0,00     0,00
I hope is more understandable now, thank you,

    Is the currentRow of a master VO always the same row I might obtain via viewlink from the current row of the child VO ?

    Yes, if the current Row of master VO changes then all the rows of the ChildVO will be the children of the Master VO row...so what u get from viewlink will always be the current row of the master VO.

  • BW - IGS: Always the same graphic

    Hi all!
    I´ve a query based on web report, and I´m adding it a graphic with Web Application Designer. I select the kind graphic I want to show, but when I display the report, I get always the same graphic. Is it necesary to install any graphic module?? we´ve checked ourt IGS instalation and it seems OK.
    Thanks

    Francisco,
    Welcome to SDN,
    when you say same graphic .. do you mean ?
    1. Same kind of report ( bar chart) shows up no matter what chart settings are in place ?
    or is it any other graphic you are talking about?
    There is an IGS test function available in BW ..
    run BW_IGS_CHART_TEST in SE38... and see if you get an output - if you do IGS is installed right
    Also check the RFC connection for the IGS.
    Hope it helps..

  • FillBy always fills in the same row in data grid view. How to make it fill in a new row for each click of the Fillby Button? VB 2010 EXPRESS?

    Hi there,
    I am a beginner in Visual Basic Express 2010. I have a Point of Sale program that uses DataGridView to display records from an external microsoft access
    database using the fillby query.
    It works, but it repopulates the same row each time, but i want to be able to display multiple records at the same time, a new row should be filled for
    each click of the fillby button.
    also I want to be able to delete any records if the customer suddenly decides to not buy an item after it has already been entered.
    so actually 2 questions here:
    1. how to populate a new row for each click of the fillby button
    2. how to delete records from data grid view after an item has been entered
    Thanks
    Vishwas

    Hello,
    The FillBy method loads data according to what the results are from the SELECT statement, so if there is one row then you get one row in the DataGridView, have two rows then two rows show up.
    Some examples
    Form load populates our dataset with all data as it was defined with a plain SELECT statement. Button1 loads via a query I created after the fact to filter on a column, the next button adds a new row to the existing data. When adding a new row it is appended
    to the current data displayed and the primary key is a negative value but the new key is shown after pressing the save button on the BindingNavigator or there are other ways to get the new key by manually adding the row to the backend table bypassing the Adapter.
    The following article with code shows this but does not address adapters.
    Conceptually speaking the code in the second code block shows how to get the new key

    End Sub
    Private Sub Form1_Load(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
    'TODO: This line of code loads data into the 'MyDataSet.Students' table. You can move, or remove it, as needed.
    Me.StudentsTableAdapter.Fill(Me.MyDataSet.Students)
    End Sub
    Private Sub Button1_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
    Me.StudentsTableAdapter.FillBy(Me.MyDataSet.Students, ComboBox1.Text)
    End Sub
    Private Sub Button2_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click
    Me.MyDataSet.Students.AddStudentsRow("Jane", "Adams", "Female")
    End Sub
    End Class

  • Get Min value and another column value from the same row

    hi all - for each customer and product, I need to grab the row that has the min value for field Value1. I could've just done group by on customer and product and min on Value1, but I also need to grab Vlaue2 from the same row where the minimum value for
    Value1 lies.
    DECLARE @Temp TABLE (CustomerID INT, ProductID VARCHAR(10), Trans_Date Date, Value1 INT, Value2 INT)
    INSERT INTO @Temp VALUES (123, 'ABC', '1/1/2013', 10, 100)
    INSERT INTO @Temp VALUES (456, 'ASD', '1/1/2013', 40, 500)
    INSERT INTO @Temp VALUES (456, 'ASD', '2/1/2013', 90, 700)
    INSERT INTO @Temp VALUES (123, 'ABC', '2/1/2013', 20, 700)
    SELECT * FROM @Temp
    The output should be
    123, ABC, 10, 100
    456, ASD, 40, 500
    I know that I can just join the table to itself and get the desired output but I am dealing with a table that has millions of rows and I was hoping there is more efficient way to do this. any help would be highly appreciated...

    Here is a correction on your DDL to make it into nearly valid table.
    CREATE TABLE Sales
    (customer_id INTEGER NOT NULL,
    product_id CHAR(10) NOT NULL,
    transaction_date DATE NOT NULL,
    PRIMARY KEY (customer_id, product_id, transaction_date),
    value1 INTEGER NOT NULL,
    value2 INTEGER NOT NULL);
    Here is the current syntax for insertion:
    INSERT INTO Sales
    VALUES (123, 'abc', '2013-01-01', 10, 100),
    (456, 'asd', '2013-01-01', 40, 500),
    (456, 'asd', '2013-02-01', 90, 700),
    (123, 'abc', '2013-02-01', 20, 700);
    WITH
    X
    AS
    (SELECT customer_id, product_id, transaction_date, value1, value2,
    MIN(value1) OVER () AS value1_min
    FROM Sales)
    SELECT X.*
    FROM X
    WHERE X.value1_min = X.value1;

  • Column Link - how to get back to the same row on previous form

    Using Apex 3.2.1
    I've created a column link on an updateable report which opens up another page for data entry. This is working fine but when you return to the originating page, is there a way to get back to the same row you were on before linking.
    The user enters a number in the AMOUNT field. A validation trigger says they need to enter an EXPLANATION. They link to the EXPLANATION page. But when they return to the first page, they don't know which row they were on AND the value they originally entered in AMOUNT is back to the database value. So is there a way to preserve the AMOUNT value and rowid from the originating page?
    Hope this makes sense and appreciate any and all help!
    Sandie

    Hi Sandie,
    I may not be understanding the requirements completely, but one thing that strikes me off the bat is it sounds like what you need isn't really a "validation" per se. The data the user is entering may be perfectly valid, it's just that in certain circumstances additional information is required. I only mention this because an ApEx validation by definition shouldn't allow changes to be made to the database - but in your case it sounds like the information entered up to that point can be saved (as long as it satisfies actual data validation rules), but then additional information for certain rows is required.
    One thing you might consider is having the Explanation page pop-up in a new window. So user is on tabular form with current row visible - user clicks on explanation link which pops up a new page - user enters explanation and clicks "submit" - pop-up page disappears leaving user right where he/she was.
    Hope this helps,
    John

  • How can I get the same result using single query?

    There are 3 tables
    1) tool_desc -
    a master table for storing tool records,
    columns tool_no, tool_chg,
    # of records = 1.5 Millon
    2) step_desc -
    a master table for storing plan wise step records,
    columns plan_id, step_key,
    # of records = 3700 Million
    3) step_tool - a transaction table storing tools to the steps,
    columns plan_id, step_key, tool_no, tool_chg
    For each step in the step_desc table, I need to randomly fetch 1 to 50 tools from tool_desc and insert them into step_tool table.
    Using PL/SQL block, it is like the following -
    begin
    for x in (select plan_id, step_key from step_desc) loop
    insert into step_tool(
    plan_id,
    step_key,
    tool_no,
    tool_chg)
    select
    plan_id,
    x.step_key,
    tool_no,
    tool_chg
    from
    tool sample(0.1)
    where
    rownum <= trunc(dbms_random.value(1,51))
    commit;
    end loop;
    end;
    I need to do the same using a single query so that I can use the CTAS (create table as select) statement and load the data as a bulk.
    Can I do that?

    If they have parent child releation, you can use connect by prior clause,

  • Is there a way to add a column after a filled DataTable from SQL with the same rows?

    My problem is that not to add rows like filled by SQLDataAdapter at the same row in DataGridView. How to make that? I showed below the details with my code also a screen shot, which shows the rows differences from the origin one.
    I don't want to add an expression as column behave in my sql script to get what I need with query result. I don't want to obtain that way.
    using (SqlConnection c = new SqlConnection(ConnStrMSSQL))
    c.Open();
    // 2
    // Create new DataAdapter
    using (SqlDataAdapter a = new SqlDataAdapter("SELECT SIPNO, SERINO, TARIH FROM SNOHAREKETLER WHERE Cast(TARIH as DATE) BETWEEN '2015/03/20' AND '2015/03/20' AND (TEZNO = 'T23' OR TEZNO = 'T31') AND CIKTI is null", c))
    // 3
    // Use DataAdapter to fill DataTable
    DataTable t = new DataTable();
    a.Fill(t);
    t.Columns.Add("MyColumn", typeof(string));
    DataRow workRow;
    int iGetCount = t.Rows.Count;
    for (int i = 0; i <= iGetCount - 1; i++)
    workRow = t.NewRow();
    workRow["MyColumn"] = i;
    t.Rows.Add(workRow);
    dataGridView1.DataSource = t;

    The extra column isn't applied to only certain rows.  The columns of a table identify what data each row will contain.  Hence adding a column to the table automatically adds them to the rows.  What you're seeing is that all the initial rows
    aren't being assigned a value so they retain their default value of null.  Later you enumerate the rows of the existing table and call AddRow which adds new rows.  This isn't adding columns, but rows.
    To generate values for the existing rows you should ideally simply pass the data back from the database.  DT computed columns can be difficult to set up as it is limited to what it can do.  If you want to use a computed column on the Datatable
    itself then define the column as a computed column and every row will calculate its own value.
    DataTable data = GetData();
    //Add elapsed time column
    var col = new DataColumn("ElapsedTime", typeof(TimeSpan), "expr");
    data.Columns.Add(col);
    dataGridView1.DataSource = data;
    The issue you will run into however is that calculating a diff on DateTime doesn't work in a computed column as the expression doesn't support the necessary functions.  You can google for how people solved this if you are interested in alternatives.
    Most people just tend to add the column and then hook into the various change events to update the value as needed.

  • How to display current postion and previous position in the same row?

    I need to produce a promotions/transfer report that gives the employee's current position as well as his/her previous position in the same row.
    for example:
    Employee current position current organization current company previous postion previous organization previous company
    Jane Smith Executive PA ZYX ltd Harmony personal assistant ABC ltd Yahoo
    I am using the per_all_people_f, per_all_assignments_f, per_periods_of_service, hr.all_organization_units, per_all_positions tables
    Somehow i cannot manage to display the previous position. I can only get so far to display the current postions
    Any ideas? here is the full code

  • BEx - Display current year and previous year by day on the same row

    Hello experts, need some help/suggestions on how I can accomplish the following please.
    We have a requirement to show MTD revenue by day for the current year and previous year.  The desired result will have the following columns
    Calendar Day   |     Current MTD Revenue     |     Prev MTD Revenue
    11/01/2009       |      15,131,005                    |        15,138,668
    11/02/2009         |    15,055,345    |                        15,523,762
    However, the result is showing up as follows:
    Calendar Day   |     Current MTD Revenue     |     Prev MTD Revenue
    11/01/2008       | |                                                   15,138,668
    11/02/2008       | |                                                   15,523,762
    11/01/2009       |      15,131,005 |
    11/02/2009       |      15,055,345 |
    The number of rows for Calendar Day varies depending on the date the user selects.  We only want to display the days for the current year with the Previous Year Column on the same row.
    Can someone please let me know how I can get the results to display on one line for each day?
    Thanks,
    David

       Re: a simple query to show sales versus last year on daily basis/
    Posted: Sep 21, 2009 9:53 AM    in response to: Shlomi Weiss           Reply
    HI Shlomi
    Create a virtual characteristic in your infoprovider that can calculate the day from calendar Day. In ZXRSRZZZ while adding code for this virtual characteristic use the function module DATE_COMPUTE_DAY to compute the day for every calendar day.
    For calculating Sales Current year, create a restricted ky figure with Sales as the key figure. Add 0CalDay to this RKF and create a variable for this infoobject(Eg: ZCURYEAR) that will receive input from the user for the range of dates eg: 08/16/2009 - 08/22/2009.
    For Sales Prior year, create another restricted key figure with Sales. Add 0CalDay to this RKF and add a customer exit variable. In the Customer exit code use the ZCURYEAR variable and offset it to prior year in both the upper and lower limits. This should work.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • TableModelEvent  is always the same - one cell or entire table changed

    Why does JUTableModel fire always the same event, if you change a single cell, or entire table structure changes.
    Event always looks like this:
    first row: 0
    last row: 2147483647
    type: 0
    column: -1
    source class: oracle.jbo.uicli.jui.JUTableBinding$JUTableModel
    I need to distinguish between a single cell change and entire table structure change.

    Thanks for getting back at this.
    Unfortunately I get a 0, when I try to reproduce your solution. Of course, I am using the German version, but it should be the right formula.
    When I leave out the $-signs in the search array I get a 0. See second picture.
    Am I doing it wrong?

    Thank you Winston for a helpful response and for reminding me of something which I found nearly a year ago and then lost (in my mind) because I did not use it. I am grateful for a correct answer but it still only achieves part of what I wanted.
    I can now choose my photos, decide how long they stay on screen and choose one of a variety of presentations. Two things I still can't do.
    One is to get it to play the photos in the chronological order in which I have carefully set them in an album; it still tends to be random and repetitive. The other is that I cannot get any of them them to saty on screen for more than about 20 seconds. I guess this is all due to the way Apple TV is constructed.
    But still thanks, nevertheless.

  • Data Sets - Is there a way to put two fields in the same row?

    I am working on my first Spry Data Set (in Dreamweaver CS4) which, if I can get it figured out, will eventually be used as a calendar on a client's web site. You can see the beginning of the project here:
    http://www.rieradesignco.com/calendarlist_spry.html
    My question is, can I put two or more fields on one row? Specifically, I would like the part that looks like this...
    3
    [WED]
    Fusion
    ... to look like this:
    3   [WED]   Fusion
    I tried simply moving the fields (in Design View) so that they looked like they would be in the same row, but as you can see, that didn't do the trick. (You can see what I did here, in the highlighted part of the screenshot:  http://www.rieradesignco.com/spryquestion.jpg). I also tried nesting a table within the table on my html data document that contained the three fields I needed - it worked okay, but that just makes the table more difficult to work with. I don't want to simply type the three items into one field, because it will be a long list and they all need to line up perfectly.
    Is there another way to do it?

    Change the following line to include the red coloured parts
    <div class="MasterColumn" spry:repeat="ds4" spry:setrow="ds4" spry:hover="MasterColumnHover" spry:select="MasterColumnSelected">
      <span>{Dsp_#}</span><span>{Dsp_WkDay}</span><span>{Dsp_Event}</span>
    </div>
    The add the following style rule to your document:
    .MasterColumn span {
        display: inline-block;
    I hope this helps.

  • How to generate a value to field in a row based on another two fields in the same row ???

    I have a quantity and unit price and there is also a field in the same row called total price. I want to get the value automatically of total price from multiplying quantity and unit price.

    Here you go:
