Get Info Edit Listings- unable to do -an answer to the problem- this works!

Not being able to edit song info using **Get Info** - I had this problem and all the forum "experts" still didn't get it solved so I had to solve it myself, so here goes:- (this works in Vista)
Open Windows Explorer, browse to your directory that is holding all your music folders, for me it is - Computer, 500GBMyBook (D:), Ripped.
Expand the folder that is the problem, for example if you cannot edit any Coldplay X&Y information in iTunes, then the folder you require is X&Y in the Coldplay folder.
Right click on the X&Y folder and select Properties, then select the Security Tab, use the scroll bar on the right to scroll down to: Users(Home\Users) highlight this line and then click "Edit"
Give Vista permission to continue, a new dialog box will appear (Permissions for X&Y), highlight Users(Home\Users) and check the "Allow" tick box next to Full control, then click apply. A windows security box will briefly appear granting security permissions to the folder in question. Click Ok on both dialog boxes to exit.
You can now go into iTunes and edit the info.
THIS DEFINETLY WORKS I HAVE DONE IT TO NUMEROUS LISTINGS

    Back up all data.
    This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
    If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
    Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:

    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.

    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
    Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
    You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
    The command may take a few minutes to run, or perhaps longer if you have literally millions of files in your home folder. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
    Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if it frightens you, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
    Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
    from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
    In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
    Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
    Press return. A Reset Password dialog will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
    In the dialog, select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if it's not already selected.
    Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if it's not already selected.
    Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select

    Have you talked to your carrier (or your friend to his)?  Could be an issue at their end.

    its probably a permissions thing - but the rub isn't coming to me yet....

    It is entirely permissions related.
    If it's greyed out, you don't have sufficient privileges to change those permissions to something else.
    If it's not greyed out, you do, so you can grant/deny privileges to others.

    you need the matching exe file, too.  both should be placed in the same directory and then click the exe.

    I had this exact same problem.  I found this fix and it worked for me. 
    Step 1:
    Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support and copy the filen named QTMovieWin.dll. 
    Step 2:
    Browse and past that file into C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes.
    Hope this helps you.  I wish I could remember where I saw this originally so I could thank them.

    I have setup a user to recieve email notifactions and they are not getting them.  I have set them up as a reader and also a co-author and have gotten the message about sharing the form.  The user then clicks on the form name and goes to the site.  When a form is entered the email address is not getting the email.
    Please help I need to get this working!

    Hi,
    Please make sure the users you shared the form with have verified their email address with their FormsCentral account. Here is an aritcile on how to set up email notificaitons with others: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1424. Please make sure you have everything set up properly.
    One other thing you want to check is to check the spam folder of the emails to receive notifications and make sure FormsCentral emails are not blocked.

    I used that article to make sure the steps where followed.  When the email comes in the user is clicking on the link and going to the web site. Is there something else that should be done?

    Hi;
    The FAQ or instructions on Email Notifications is out of date in that it does not include information about adding another user to the Email Notifications...  I'll update that FAQ soon.
    Make sure that the other users FormsCentral account (AdobeID) is "verified", if they recently created the account, or have not yet created the account and have not "verified" their account they will not recieve the notifications.  Have the user simply sign into www.formscentral.acrobat.com and if they have not been verified then it will offer to "resend" the verification email, there is a link/URL in the email that has to be clicked to verify the account.
    The other possibility is the emails are filtered by a spam filter and the user can/should look in their spam which may require contacting IT where they are working.
    These are ussually the causes of this but if you are still having issue you can share your form with me at [email protected] and I can take a look further - please include a reference to this forum post in your invite, instructions for sharing: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2462

  • In my Finder Favorites, I have a burn symbol that will not open, get info, etc.  It has a file name.  the message is that it can't be opened

    In the finder window, under Favorites, I have a burn symbol and a file name for a file that I later deleted from the iMac.  It is a TurboTax file.  I can not open, get infor, or remove it from the sidebar.  The error message is that the file can't be found.  I want to delete the burn symbol and file name from Favorites.  How can I do this?

    Hold down the command key and drag it out of the sidebar.

    Not directly on the router but you can setup parental controls through external/3rd party services.  For example OpenDNS allows you to setup parental controls which are managed from their site and a separate account.  Once you have OpenDNS configured you can tell your 4G LTE router and personal devices to use it as their main DNS service.

    The only way that I currently know of that you can use to remove old / invalid email addresses is to reset the iPad back to factory defaults - which is somewhat extreme, and I assume that you don't won't to do that. You could try leaving feedback for Apple and maybe in a future update we'll be able to edit the list : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
