Get Missing Windows Back

I recently changed my Mac from using 2 17" displays to one 23" ACD because one of the 17" monitors died and the other was old and the quality had deteriorated. I have a couple of applicatiosn that had windows that I used on the second display and in those apps, I can no longer see those windows. I am assuming it is because the application believes that the window is on the second monitor that no longer exists. Is there an easy way to get thse things back without hooking up a second monitor just to move them back to the main monitor?

(on another side issue - anyone know why I have to change my pasword to Apple every few months? It's VERY VERY annoying. It's hard enough to keep mental notes of all my passwords without having to come up with new ones so often).

Lucky you! Evidently that boat sailed without me. Just the other day I tried to login to my iTunes account, but couldn't. Even opened my keychain to check, used the most recent password there for iTunes, and just got the "we'll send you an email and then you can change your password" thingy which results in having to reset all my other passwords (anyway, that's what seems to have happened to me repeatedly in the past), so I declined to change it. Discovered I really didn't have to check my account anyway, I could redeem my gift cards without doing that, and spend the money, all without entering a password, presumably because the one on the keychain IS recognized, even though it ISN'T recognized to login. ARGGHHHH!

Preferences --> General --> Reset all warnings. For anything beyond that ask in the Premiere forum and provide the necessary technical details.

How can I get New Window back to the top as first choice? v4.0 has swapped it with New Tab.I'm using v4.0 on a Mac.

I'm used to clicking on File and having New Window as my first choice. New Tab is now at the top of the list. My brain is slow to make the transition to the new format and I keep choosing New Tab in error. Can I swap them?

As someone who uses predictive typing constantly when I use my iPhone I can understand not having it available would be upsetting. Let's see if we can get you back up and running.
You can activate predictive typing by going to Settings > Keyboard > Predictive and turn it on. See this help article for reference -

If you have just hidden the predictive text suggestions by moving the suggestions bar down you will see just the gray top of that bar. You can drag it up again to regain the view.

I am having unwanted widow re-sizing with Firefox 4. Seems to be at random- after it occurs, I cannot get my windows back to the original size without rebooting.

I usually run 2 Firefox windows with about 5-7 tabs each. once in a while my first window gets "re-sized" to about 1 inch long in the upper left of my screen. Nothing I do will bring it back. I have to reboot, then I can re-size it manually. Also, this new FF4 seems to freeze a helluva lot more than the 3.6 version.
Kind of annoying.
Anyone with any thoughts?

How do I get missing photos back into the Organizer?

Just a few days ago I had about twelve folders of photos in my Organizer. Now I have only two folders that have content. When I click on the other ten folders I see this message in the Media Browser, "No media to be displayed."
I have both Adobe Premiere Elements 11 and Photoshop 11 which I got three weeks ago. The only thing new on my computer is the software that came with my Nikon camera - NX2 - a photo storage and photo editing program. My photos are still in my Windows Pictures program.

You must have moved files outside of Organizer using Explorer or Finder.
Try using File >> Reconnect >> All Missing Files
otherwise use
File >> Get Photos & Videos >> From Files & Folders
Then navigate to the new location.

Reboot your MacBook. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the Option key until the Disks shows up. Choose your Mac hard drive (click on it and then the arrow below it.) When you are in your Mac OS go to System Preferences>Startup Disk and click on your MacBook hard drive. After that you should start up in Mac OS.
You can use the Option key trick to switch back to Windows.

There is a way, but it may not be supported for ever... If you want the old download manager back, go to about:config, click the I'll be careful, I promise! button. Then search for "download", and set the browser.download.useToolkitUI preference to true (double-click it).

Off screen Get Info windows

somehow my wife managed to create 4 Get Info windows that were ENTIRELY off the screen. We could see them in Expose, but when we clicked on one, we got an empty desktop. There wasn't even a single row of pixels to grab along any edge.
A force quit of the Finder killed them so the problem is actually gone, but this seems like some kind of bug. Expose ought to be able to detect that a window is not visible and bring it back on the visible screen when selected.
Just for info, does anybody know a way to get a window back on screen when there is NO visible part of the window available?

One solution to your particular problem would be to select the windows from the Finder's Window menu and then select File > Close Window. Presumably, you can open them again in the visible region of your screen.
You might be able to get yourself into this state by playing with screen resolutions, but I haven't tested out this theory. For example, if the window is off-screen, choosing a higher resolution may bring it back on-screen.

Can't get information window to close

When I am in the iTunes store and press the information button the window that pops up is so large that no corner is reachable. I cant move it, resize it or close it and end up having to quit iTunes so I can see the main screen. Any hints how to get that window back down to manageable size or to close without quitting iTunes?

Go to System Prefs, change your screen resolution, resize the window, then change the screen res back.

iPhoto 09 version 8.1.2 (424)
Snow Leopard Mac OS X (latest update)
I had selected about 7 photos to export into 'pictures' so that I could send them by email to colleagues who don't have Apple. On returning to iPhoto all the content had disappeared and the photos I had selected did not export.
It happened on Thursday 21st Feb, nothing had been installed or deleted but I did update the latest software fairly recently (usual automated update etc). I am able to still use iPhoto but when I click the red button to close the application, it closes completely from my machine - the blue highlight button underneath the icon disappears and it does not remain in the background where I would usually have to click on 'iPhoto' in the top left hand corner.
No error messages
Attempted to restore by accessing Time Capsule - that's another matter/problem I will need to address separately (user error I reckon on this aspect!).
As far as I know I use iPhoto as it should be ie I have all my photos in Events (not albums)

Can't get Windows back

I have captured my clips with Log & Transfer and saved the project. When I go to reopen the project I can't get the Canvas and Timeline windows back. They are missing from my screen. The Browser, Viewer, Tools palette and Audio Meters are the only ones on the screen. Under the Windows menu both the Canvas and Timeline choices are grayed out and can't be chosen. I usually select Standard from the Arrange sub menu and they all appear, but not in this project. I am new to FCE and this may be a dumb question, but I am stumped.
