Get outlook emails into database!

Dear All,
My Oracle database is 11gR1 and on Red Hat Linux Operating System.
Our exchange server is MS exchange 2003 on windows 2003 advance server.
I need to develop a mechanism that all my if we receive emails from customers, they are also ported into the database.
I have no idea if it is possible. I will explore it myself please just give me few hints. How to start it.
Thanks, Imran

You need to interface with the Exchange Server in order to read a specific mail box e-mails.
There are 2 standard protocols that can be used:
- POP3 (<i>Post Office Protocol v3</i>)
- IMAP (<i>Internet Message Access Protocol</i>)
These protocols are open standard protocols. However, Microsoft being Microsoft, they will attempt to lock you into their world of proprietary technology and protocols. So Exchange also supports a proprietary protocol and interface. Windows sysadmin often being the typically idiots they are, will disable the open standard protocols and only enable the proprietary protocol support. (and no, I see no reason for calling such sysadmins anything else).
If open standards are supported, it is relatively easy to interface with the mailbox on the Exchange Server. I posted a basic example of how to use the POP3 protocol from PL/SQL via the UTL_TCP package in {message:id=2018101}.
The IMAP protocol looks a tad different, but the same basic concept of using UTL_TCP will apply.
If neither open standard mail protocols are supported, then you have to use the proprietary interface of Exchange. And this will require your Oracle Server to be Windows-based in order to use the proprietary Windows-based Mail Application Protocol Interface (MAPI).
If you do not run your Oracle database on a Windows server, and need to somehow interface with Exchange without using POP3 or MAPI, there is an alternative. Exchange provides an Outlook web interface. So in other words, Exchange provides a web service that can be used to read a mailbox. There is an Open Source project called Evolution (a mail reader like Outlook). This has an adapter that support interfacing with Exchange. With some effort, you should be able to write a shared object interface using this adapter and the wrap this shared object as an external procedure that is callable from PL/SQL. Of course, some knowledge of Linux and C programming will be required.

  • How to get Outlook email indexed by Spotlight after reinstalling Office 2011?

I reinstalled Office 2011 and my Outlook email index stopped updating. I forced a reindex of the entire drive, but the email still wasn't indexing. Stopped by the Genius Bar and they suggested reindexing the drive and repairing permissions (didn't work).

    Hi
As per the information and details provided by you, to get Outlook email indexed by spotlight after reinstalling Office 2011, please follow these steps: -
Outlook provides a custom importer to Spotlight to index email. It is typically found in:
    "/Applications/Microsoft Office 2011/Microsoft Outlook.app/Contents/Library/Spotlight/Microsoft Outlook.mdimporter",
    You can use the command
/usr/bin/mdimport –L to list all installed importers. When I did that I saw that the importer from the old installation of Outlook was still installed because it was still in the trash can. When I tried to manually import an email using the
command usr/bin/mdimport –d2 /[ path ]/x00_138.olk14Message I saw that it was failing to load the importer from the trash.
Emptying the trash fixed the issue. Wish there was a way to selectively empty the trash without deleting everything.
Once I emptied the trash,  had to force Spotlight to reindex the email folder by adding the /Users/jim/Documents/Microsoft User Data folder to Privacy
tab of Spotlight System Settings, and then removing it again. After spotlight reported the indexing was complete (via the Spotlight dropdown in the upper right) the email was all indexed again.
I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • How can I get imported Outlook email into folders in mail?

I am a longtime PC user with email and calendar in MS Outlook (finally) converting to an iMac.  I used the Migration Assistant to transfer my old PC email to new iMAC running OSX Lion via ethernet.  On the old PC, I have ~15 years of stored emails in a *.pst file, organized by folders.  I want to retain that file structure to organize older email (but retain it on hard drive for later access) in mail on the iMac.  For example, I get an email confirmation of an online order, I move it to a folder called "Money" in case I have any problems with the item or need ot figure out how long since I purchased something for warranty.  After the migration I have 1,984 messages in my inbox on the iMac.
    Two apparent problems:
    1) Everything is in one folder.  I don't want to have to refile all this stuff again.  How do I get an intact folder structure imported to iMac email from Outlook 2000 *.pst file?
    2)  I don't think the migration moved everything form the old pst.  It took more than inbox, but not enough to be all the emails.  To avoid duplications, should I scrub the iMAC mail clean before any steps to achieve 1 above?  If so how do I remove the emil imported the first try to iMac?
Be gently, true newbie status here.  Learning the iMac slowly - but can't go for long without email.....

Hi. I have a similar issue. Migration assistant seems to have pulled in all my email accounts (6) correctly and also the mails that were sat in those inboxes. However, the entire folder structure (where I would drag and drop) has not migrated and nor (it seems) the email contained within. I also have a .pst (which is not corrupted on the PC) and is not huge. So I would like to move all my history across. I don't particularly care about the folder structure but I do, of course, want all of my history transferred.
Is there any easy way to do this? Otherwise all I can think of is moving all emails on my PC from the folders to an inbox in Outlook, unarchiving the .pst emails and then doing the email migration all over again.
    Thanks for any help.

  • TS4002 Issue getting iCloud email into Mac

    Dear All,
I have a problem getting my icloud email into Mac
Sometimes the email came in very late and not real time
Othertime, it just does not come in at all
However, this do not happen for my icloud email in my iPhone
    All the email comes in.
    Anyone has similar issue?

Try going back to http://appleid.apple.com and changing the ID back to the original address. If you can get this accepted, then go to the iCloud preferences/settings pane, stop 'Find My ....', and then sign out. Do the same on any other devices or computers.
Then go back to http://appleid.apple.com and change the ID to the new one. Sign in with that on all your devices.
However as the address which forms the original ID is now not working it can't be validated and it's possible that you won't be able to revert to it. In this situation only Support can help you.
To contact  iCloud Support: if you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/
You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support and you may be asked to pay a fee.

  • How do I get Outlook Email from Exchange Server configured on iPhone?

My business email is hosted on MS Exchange Server via Outlook and is distributed to my networked PC and VPN home PC and laptop. My IT manager has enabled IMAP on the Exchange Server. I am unable to get my email account on the iPhone to receive or send mail through my Server. My domain names have been entered in the format "exchange.[domainname].com, and my user ID and password has been input for both incoming and outgoing email. The iPhone cannot seem to talk to the server and retrieve or send mail. Does anyone know what to do on the iPhone to be able to communicate with the server? (I am aware of the various limitations of the iPhone vs. Windows Smart Phones in terms of being able to use Microsoft Push Email and to be able to synch calendars, contacts etc. with a corporate server and/or multiple computers. Hopefully Apple will license ActiveSync for the iPhone to provide for this functionality, as recently rumored on a few blogs.)

Thanks for your response. I've used the path that I had successfully used for years with my Windows Smartphone to no success. Neither advanced Apple telephone support nor my IT guy could get this to work. I have implemented a workaround to have my server automatically forward my emails to a new Yahoo account which then pushes to my iPhone. Definitely an unsatisfactory and incomplete solution, however.
Editorial comments for Apple: Windows ActiveSync was so much more sophisticated in terms of being able to deal with server-based email, contacts, calendar and for users with multiple computers - i.e. office, home and laptop. I would have expected Apple to introduce something at least as functional and sophisticated or to licence ActiveSync. My user capabilities are substantially downgraded in these areas with my new iPhone and absent a quick software upgrade or licence of ActiveSync I will be unable to function productively with my iPhone. While we're at it, Apple, with my multiple email accounts set up on the iPhone, which is a great feature, I have no easy way to tell in which account to find a new email. I am forced to update the inbox in every single account to try to find where my new mail is going - some new mail indicator next to the account name (as opposed to showing how many unread emails exist with each account) needs to be implemented. The phone hardware, other than the batter - which doesn't even last me for the full course of a workday - is great, but software has only gotten to about 75% of where it needs to be.

  • How to get Outlook contacts into Android's contact list?

I have just installed Outlook by Microsoft Corp onto my Android Asus ZenFone 2. From the Outlook app, I can see under People all my contacts from the Exchange server, with other contacts on the phone's contact list.  However, from the phone's contact
list, I cannot see the Outlook account, I can see only Google, WhatsApp, SIM, device, etc.
Is the Microsoft Outlook app a "normal" phone app like all the other apps with contact lists?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
As per the information and details provided by you, to get the Outlook contacts into Android’s contact list, please follow these steps: -
Gmail is an excellent import tool fir contacts exported
    in an Outlook CSV form.
    Login to
Gmail that is associated with your Android device, go to the
Contacts from drop down menu up left, More > Import function.
This will allow you to choose the CSV file you just got out of Outlook on your computer, and
upload it to Gmail. Here they are – all your Outlook contacts synced with your new
    Android device.
I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • HT5824 Help ... cannot get outlook email on PC now, just loaded Icloud

I just downloaded Icloud onto my PC and received the message "two versions of outlook running. Remove one version". I don't believe I have two versions of Outlook (have Windows Live Mail 2011 and Outlook 2010). However I now cannot retrieve my emails in Outlook on my PC now, only on my Ipone 5s. I can however retrieve emails in Windows Live (these are a different email address than the Outlook email however - Outlook is my work email).
If anyone has tips or insigts on what to do to fix this and be able to access my Outlook email that would be greatly appreciated!

  • How do I get an email into my Kobo?

A friend is sending me a 90,000 word book by email.   I assume I have to tranfer it into Adobe in some way and then transfer it over into my Kobo.  Can somebody explain to a super-dummy how that is done?   I'm using Vista.

Kobo eReader :: File Types Supported: ePUB, PDF, Adobe ADE (Digital Editions)
The file format of the email attachment is the significant variable.
If already in ePUB you'd need to review the Kobo Help to learn how to access/load it.
If not ePUB, getting it to ePUB may be problematic.
There are work flows to bring some file formats to ePUB (i.e., InDesign CS4/CS5).
ADE is associated with purchase of the service to apply Digital Rights Management (DRM) to ePUB or PDF.
Once processed, the ePUB/PDF can be processed by authorized users (paid for the document/book) via ADE.
(Over simplified - details can be viewed at Adobe's ADE webspace.)
For your file you may be able to create a PDF with PDFMaker or Adobe Distiller (via the Adobe Printer).
This would require Acrobat Standard or Professional.
An alternative could be to use a free PDF creation utility (although many of these do not provide an adequately robuts PDF - e.g., built to ISO 32000-1). If the file can be rendered via Word 2007 there is an Office 2007 feature that permits Save As to PDF.
Once you have a PDF there may still be issues when it is viewed on a mobile device such as your Kobo.
For "graceful" use on a mobile device you'd want the PDF to be an appropriately Tagged PDF which provides better reflow.
However, if you should want to post process a PDF to work on the Tag structure you will need Acrobat Pro.
    Be well...

  • Not Getting Outlook Emails Anymore

A colleague and I are not having the same problem.  We were getting email messages on our BB from our MS Exchange server.  We both got a message late last week from [email protected] that said "Update the password" for our email accounts.  I also said we wouldn't get messages anymore until we did.
When I went to my email settings on BB, it said "Invalidate" next to it the account name.  There was a validate option so I selected it.  It said it was successful but I'm still not getting messages.  We deleted our accounts and started from scratch using the same settings we used initially.   Now, BB says we aren't successful in trying to create the email accounts.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    The account mail is Hotmail?

  • Why am I getting unauthorised emails into my account and can't remove

I switched my domain from long term USA hosting, to 1and1 in UK and now have a problem with my Mozilla Thunderbird email client.
I set up my email addresses only with no web page file uploads. I decided 1and1 were not for me, so I cancelled my account the following day and removed all of my email addresses from the hosting account. Since then, emails continued to arrive from 1and1.
Initially four emails IN folders were somehow created, which I deleted and have not reappeared. However the emails folders (?) which were in my account have returned and continue to do so almost immediately after I delete them as follows...
    No uploads and/or copy/paste?
    OK ? ? ? ? OK
I have contacted 1and1 a number of times to ask them to clear my hosting account completely including all my files. They have assured me that my domain has been cleared completely and I assume they have done so. My ISP account is clear too.
It is a mystery to me and I am somewhat concerned that a spammer or hacker has installed malware or similar on my PC. I have checked with my Panda anti-virus, Malware Bytes and AdWcleaner.
    Could you please advise.
    Thank you,
    Art.

Note that there are sites that sell your email address to spammers when you signup with sites. Are you sure this is not the case.
This is something that happened to my Gmail account and I switched providers, haven't seen problems since.
