Get parent of e.target.name

Hi,
How would you get the name of the parent of a movieclip? Any ideas? below is only some of the options I tried to trace.
function getParentName(e:MouseEvent):void{
trace(e.target.parent.name);
trace(parent(e.target));
trace(this.parent(e.target.name));
// want it to trace round_mc
round_mc.delete_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, getParentName,false,0,true);
thanks for any help.

function getParentName(e:MouseEvent):void{
trace(e.currentTarget.parent.name);
round_mc.delete_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, getParentName,false,0,true);

• How do I use the event.target.name String with an external dispatchEvent?

...I hope the title question makes sense...
On my stage I have an externally loaded SWF with a button. When clicked the button dispatches an event to the main stage.
On the main stage a listener then loads an SWF into a loader called gallery.
The gallery loader is also being shared by buttons on the main stage which use the event.target.name String to call in SWFs with corresponding names.
I am using Tweens to fade-out and -in content to the gallery when a button is pressed.
Loading the SWFs was working until I tried to create a universal button function for the dispatchEvent buttons...
The problem I have is that I don't know how to define the String to tell the newSWFRequest where to find the SWF when triggered by the external buttons.
(I may be doing this all wrong... but figured the best way to load an SWF on to the main stage from an external SWF was by using dispatchEvent??)
My code triggers the Event and the gallery loader fades out, but then it cannot find the new SWF:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.
Please can someone help me understand the way to make the String point in the right direction? (I think the only errors are in bold below)
Code:
var myTweenIn2:Tween;
var myTweenOut2:Tween;
var nextLoadS2:String;
// Listen for external event dispatched from external btns
addEventListener("contactStage", btnClickExtrnl);
function btnClickExtrnl(e:Event):void {
nextLoadS2 = ?????
myTweenOut2=new Tween(gallery,"alpha",None.easeOut,gallery.alpha,0,0.2,true);
myTweenOut2.addEventListener(TweenEvent.MOTION_FINISH,tweenOutCompleteF2);
// Btns Universal function
function tweenOutCompleteF2(e:TweenEvent){
myTweenOut2.removeEventListener(TweenEvent.MOTION_FINISH,tweenOutCompleteF2);
myTweenOut2=null;
var newSWFRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("swfs/" + nextLoadS2 + ".swf");
myTweenIn2 = new Tween(gallery, "alpha", None.easeOut, gallery.alpha, 1, 0.2, true);
gallery.load(newSWFRequest);
gallery.x = Xpos;
gallery.y = Ypos;
Thank you.

That works – thank you!
I'm now using this code to fade in each of the SWFs:
function contactStage(e:MouseEvent):void {
var newSWFRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("swfs/"+e.currentTarget.name+".swf");
myTweenIn = new Tween(gallery,  "alpha", None.easeOut, 0, 1, 0.2, true);
gallery.load(newSWFRequest);
gallery.x = Xpos;
gallery.y = Ypos;
But I cannot add the fade out function. I have amended the above code to create:
var myTweenOutX:Tween;
var myTweenInX:Tween;
function contactStage(e:MouseEvent):void {
myTweenOutX=new Tween(gallery,"alpha",None.easeOut,gallery.alpha,0,0.2,true);
myTweenOutX.addEventListener(TweenEvent.MOTION_FINISH,tweenOutCompleteFX);
function tweenOutCompleteFX(e:TweenEvent){
myTweenOutX.removeEventListener(TweenEvent.MOTION_FINISH,tweenOutCompleteFX);
myTweenOutX=null;
var newSWFRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("swfs/"+e.currentTarget.name+".swf");
myTweenInX = new Tween(gallery,  "alpha", None.easeOut, 0, 1, 0.2, true);
gallery.load(newSWFRequest);
gallery.x = Xpos;
gallery.y = Ypos;
But get this error:
ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property name not found on fl.transitions.Tween and there is no default value.

• Getting an object's field name

In the snippet of code shown below, 'parent' represents a UI dialog, and 'child' represents one of the components of the dialog. What I would like to know is the field name of 'child'. The variable 'fieldName' would contain the name I am seeking, if I knew how to determine the value of 'ii' that corresponds to the object 'child'.
I hope you can help.
Thanks,
Miguel
String getFieldName(Object parent,Component child) {
Class cl = parent.getClass();
Field [] fields = cl.getDeclaredFields();
String fieldName = fields[ii].getName();
// problem: how to get 'ii' that corresponds to 'child'?
return fieldName;
}

Is there a way to get the
corresponding array of component objects? It depends on the way the "parent" class is defined.
For example (a BAD example, but an example):
I could have the parent keep it's components in a HashMap, with a key of the component type and a value of an ArrayList that contains each component matching the component type.
This would be very annoying to deal with, and hard to find any given component (whether reflectively or with normal code).
If I can get
the value of a field (Object val =
field.get(parent);), there must be a way to get the
reference to the object that correspond to the pair
'field','parent'.
Thanks.Huh?
What do you think field[1].get(parent) returned?
It's the value that the field is referring to (e.g. the actual object refered to by the field).
I think dubwai's questions about "what are you trying to do" are very relevant. Using reflection like this usually means the design is lacking some important functionality

• How to specify the target name while deploying a code in OSB-- Plz Help

Hi all,
Am working in creating a cluster environment. For my testing i created a new managed server(OSB_Server) in 9001 port in the admin console itself and that server started running. The default managed server(Admin_Server) is in 7001 port. So when i deploy a code in 7001 sb console the WSDL gets exposed in 7001 because the default admin server port is 7001. While deploying a code in service bus admin console we are not specifying the target name. So how to specify the target name while deploying the code in service bus admin console. Plz help me.
Regards
Prabhu

Hi Prabhu,
There are three kind of server architecture possible for OSB -
1. Single server - Everything gets deployed on Admin server itself
2. Admin Server + Single Managed Server for OSB -- OSB configuration gets deployed on OSB managed server. OSB resources (proxy service, WSDL, Schema) will remain available on OSB managed server port only and NOT on admin server port
3. Admin Server + OSB cluster -- OSB configuration gets deployed on OSB cluster. OSB resources (proxy service, WSDL, Schema) will remain available on OSB Cluster port(s) only and NOT on admin server port
Converting one type of server architecture to any other type, requires a manual tedious process, so it is suggested that you create domain accordingly i.e. if you need clusters then while creating domain itself, create OSB cluster, so that all OSB applications gets deployed to OSB cluster. I will suggest you to create a clustered domain from scratch and import the configuration from your existing domian to this new clustered domain.

for each loader created, create a movieclip and add your loader to the movieclip. assign all the properties you want to retrieve later to the movieclip and assign your event listeners to the movieclip.

Hi,
EVPRO for getting the value for PARENTH1 of any member should work. Please check whether you have included all the parameters of this function inside double quotes.
EVPRO("APPNAME","MEMBER_ID","PROPERTY")

• Get parent window in webutil

Hi,
I am trying to migrate 6i libraries to 10g in Orcle forms, in one of the pll it is using below procedure.
In this it is calling wi_api_utility.get_parent_window procedure, which is part of d2kwutil.
Now I have to use webutil instead of d2kwutil, becuase d2kwutil will not supported for webforms.
Is there any same procedure avaialble in webutil to replace win_api's get_parent_window?
If anyone knows solution for this please help me.
Thanks.

• Get parent component

Hi all,
Is there any method to get parent component (container) of a jcomponent?

Did you think to look at the API? Some method names are obvious. Other are not. The least you can do is try. All you had to do was find any method with the word "parent" in it.

• Getting Parent Node using SQL

Hello,
I am trying to query an XML which is stored in XMLTYPE datatype column in oracle table. I am using the below SQL:
select
EXTRACTVALUE (column_name, '/Person/Customer/Customer_First_Name'),
EXTRACTVALUE (column_name, '/Person/Customer/Customer_Last_Name'),
from TABLE_1 A, TABLE ( XMLSEQUENCE (EXTRACT (A.column_name, '/sdi_header//Person')) ) P
Sample XML:
<sdi_header>
<Person>
<Customer_First_Name>ABC</Customer_First_Name>
<Customer_Last_Name>DEF</Customer_First_Name>
</Person>
<warehouse>
<Person>
<Customer_First_Name>XYZ</Customer_First_Name>
<Customer_Last_Name>MNO</Customer_First_Name>
</Person>
</warehouse>
</sdi_header>
In the above query the Alias P has a //Person which means I am trying to extract all the repeating person Nodes information in XML. Retrieving all persons is working but I want to extract the parent node information of each Person like for Example in the above sample XML, it has two persons in it
1) 1 Person is coming under sdi_header node , in such case I need to get <sdi_header/> in SELECT statement
2) 1 Person is coming under warehouse node , in such case I need to get <warehouse/>in SELECT statement
How can the parent node information be extracted in SELECT statement.
Any suggestion/Help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
SKM

• Getting Parent Node On tree Issue..

Hi,
I Have Constructed a Tree and i am Able to get the Details of the clicked Node on the Tree into the Backing Bean.
But I'm unable to get the Parent Node of the Clicked Child Node.
Ex:On Click of Employee(Child Node) in the Tree, I should get the Department (Parent Node) in Backing Bean.
I'm able to get only the details in the same Level of Tree Node(ie All Employees in the Selected Employee Level).
IDE: JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.
Please Suggest me.
Thanking You,
Bandaru.

• InfoSpoke Data Target Name

Hello,
I searched the forums but I could not find the info I am looking for. Actually there is not much info about InfoSpokes. My questions is; how can I find the data target on which infospoke is running (if I have infospoke name how can I find the data target name?)? Or vice versa (if I have data target name how can I find the infospokes that are extracting data from that data target?). Is there any t-code for this?
I appreciate if you could infor me.
Thanks and Regards,
John

Hi
InfoSpoke
The central object for the data export is the InfoSpoke.
The InfoSpoke defines the following:
● The open hub data source from which the data is extracted
●     The extraction mode
● The open hub destination into which the data is delivered.
In addition, you can select which selection of data is extracted from which InfoProvider. The selection ensures that a destination can be provided with data from the same InfoProvider at different times using a delta. As long as extraction has not yet taken place in delta mode, the selection set is freely configurable. Once it has, this no longer applies.
Open Hub Data Source
BI objects such as InfoCubes, DataStore objects, MultiProviders or InfoObjects (attributes or texts) can function as open hub data sources. If you use an InfoCube with non-cumulative key figures as a data source, refer to the note regarding the settings on the Selection tab page in Creating InfoSpokes.
Extraction Mode
An InfoSpoke can extract data in two ways: in full mode (F) and in delta mode (D). See InfoSpoke Extraction Mode.
Open Hub Destination
Database tables (from the database in the BI system) and flat files (CSV) can act as open hub destinations. See Database Tables As Destinations and Files As Destinations. You can extract the data from a database to a non-SAP system using APIs with a third-party tool. See Third-Party Tools As Destinations.
The open hub destination contains all the information about the target system for the InfoProvider data: type of destination, name of the flat file or database table. It also contains a logical target system. The logical target system is used to structure the individual open hub destinations in the open hub monitor. The open hub monitor groups the requests according to logical target system, open hub destination and InfoSpoke. By specifying a logical target system, you get a better overview of the individual open hub requests.
