Get parent component

Hi all,
Is there any method to get parent component (container) of a jcomponent?

Did you think to look at the API? Some method names are obvious. Other are not. The least you can do is try. All you had to do was find any method with the word "parent" in it.

A: Your component has its own scope, so it doesn't know
anything
about the functions in the main file. You can get around this
by directly
referencing the main application scope like this:
Application.application.myFunction(). However, this makes

tightly coupled, which is a quick way of saying that your
component is only
usable in an application that has a myFunction() function in
it. You're
better off dispatching an event from your component and
letting the

File Selection - parent component

I am trying to select a file on the client to be displayed.
I have a JFileChooser that seems to work for the file selection, but when using the
.showOpenDIalog() method, it is wanting a parent frame component as an arguement.
If I use .showOpenDialog( null ), the dialog works, but is displayed behind the browser.
How do I get a component that refers to the browser so I can use .showOpenDialog( component )
and have the dialog open on top of the browser?
I think it is something in the facesContext stuff, but just not shure what to use.

This doesn't actually work at all. The file chooser is being displayed on the server, which in your development area is the same as the client. Try it from a different machine and you will see what I mean.

That makes no difference, as you can still use this method with AWT.

in my program i use button and text fields, when button is pressed the action listener performs the needed actions: it must take the values in the text fields and do something with them,

Problem with Jtree to xml tranform..how to set/get parent of a node?

I am trying to develop xml import/export module.In import wizard, I am parsing the xml file and the display it in Jtree view using xml tree model which implements TreeModel and xml tree node.I am using jaxp api..
It is workin fine.
I got stuck with removal of selected node and save it as a new xml.
I am not able to get parent node of selected node in remove process,itz throwing null.I think i missed to define parent when i load treemodel.Plz help me out..give some ideas to do it..

You aren't providing enough information to know for sure what is going on, but a likely problem is that you're rendering a JSP page with a new component tree for the first time, so the components are getting built as the page executes.
In the EA3 release, this caused a problem, because encodeBegin() was called from the doStartTag() method of the JSP tag (i.e. before the child components have been created). However, in EA4 the call to encodeBegin() was moved to doEndTag(), so the child components should now be getting created already.
In order to debug this any further, we'll need a specific example of what you're doing, and what version of JavaServer Faces you're trying it with.

This is a switched capacitor filter - with a variety of configurations for each mode of operation based on the switching frequency. To create a transistor level SPICE model would be unrealistic (which is probably why you haven't found one), so I would suggest looking at the datasheet and specifically, looking at each mode of operation and seeing if you can approximate the filter topology with an expression for the transfer function given in the datasheet (by calcuting based on the switching frequency).
Based on the expression you get, you can use the Multisim component "TRANSFER_FUNCTION_BLOCK" to plug in the correct transfer function and thus approximate the behavior of the filter in the circuit.
This transfer function can be found in the Master database -> Sources -> CONTROL_FUNCTION_BLOCKS. There was a previous discussion giving some additional details on how to setup the transfer function block:

Is it possible to call a function in a parent component from a child component in Flex 3?

This is probably a very basic question but have been wondering this for a while.
I need to call a function located in a parent component and make the call from its child component in Flex 3. Is there a way to access functions in a parent component from the child component? I know I can dispatch an event in the child and add a listener in the parent to call the function, but just wanted to know if could also directly call a parent function from a child (similar to how you can call a function in the main mxml file using Application.application). Thanks

There are no performance issues, but it is ok if you are using the child component in only one class. Suppose if you want to use the same component as a child to some bunch of parents then i would do like the following
public interface IParentImplementation{
     function callParentMethod();
and the parent class should implement this 'IParentImplementation'
usually like the following line
public class parentClass extends Canvas implements IParentImplementation{
          public function callParentMethod():void{
     //code
in the child you should do something like this.
(this.parent as IParentImplementation).callParentMethod();
Here using the Interfaces, we re decoupling the parent and the child

Component initialization when used by parent component

Hi everybody
I have 'parent' and 'child' components.
View V1 belongs to child and, upon receiving an inplug, performs a specific view controller method InitView performing activities such as executing controller methods to populate its context depending on the plug parameters.
V1 belongs to Window W1 as default view.
child is used in parent component and the child W1 interface view is used in a navigation step in parent.
Parent view V2 should fire an outbound plug towards the W1 interface view which should handle the related inbound plug calling V1's InitView method.
In order to achieve this, I assume I should declare V1 view controller as required controller in W1 interface view controller. However this is not possibile afaik.
Any suggestion? Should I move the InitView method within the child component/custom controller?

My user select base member from CV .
I want parent node for that base member .
I am using =EVPRO( App name , memmber id , "PARENTH1" ) .
I am not getting parent member from this funcation .

EVPRO for getting the value for PARENTH1 of any member should work. Please check whether you have included all the parameters of this function inside double quotes.

Get parent window in webutil

Hi,
I am trying to migrate 6i libraries to 10g in Orcle forms, in one of the pll it is using below procedure.
In this it is calling wi_api_utility.get_parent_window procedure, which is part of d2kwutil.
Now I have to use webutil instead of d2kwutil, becuase d2kwutil will not supported for webforms.
Is there any same procedure avaialble in webutil to replace win_api's get_parent_window?
If anyone knows solution for this please help me.

I think you want to post this in the Photoshop Lightroom forum (this is the Lightroom SDK forum, for plugin authors).
Or have I misunderstood the question? (collection:getParent() to get parent in lua code).
Or are you trying to call the catalog function to create a collection, but don't know what to use for parent collection set? If this is the case, then you will have to create a collection set if you can't find something suitable to act as parent (e.g. a selected collection set obtained from catalog:getActiveSources()). Reminder: parent parameter is optional - if omitted, then collection will be created in root of catalog (or publish service) - that's another option.
Most of my plugins that create collections create a collection set in the root, named after the plugin, and put all sub-collections/sets in it.

Goto RSA1 then source systems. double click on source system then right click on ypur R/3 source system then say display datasource tree.
