Get the item index with mouseRollOver with HorizontalList

Question

Hi All
I'm very much interested in the index of the item which triggers an event (in a HorizontalList)
For example, if I move my mouse over the 2nd item in a HorizontalList, I want to get a 1
Here is a code snippet
       public function prepareDisplay(event:ListEvent):void {
          mx.controls.Alert.show("index=" + myList.selectedItem) ;
   ]]>
</mx:Script>
     <mx:HorizontalList id="myList"
          itemRollOver="prepareDisplay(event)"/>
This code always show:
       index=0
because the selected index is not changed with a mouse over. Any suggestions ?
