Yes, using the plugin APIs. There is a AVAppGetSpecialFolder() call that you can use.

  • Teststand 1.03 - How can I get the sequence file path into an expression?

The sequence file will be located at different locations on different computers. I need the base address of the sequence file to get to the correct limits file. How can I get the sequence file path into a string-local expression.
    Thanks

As Ray described, the FindFile expression function and TS API method will seach all TS search directories and return to you the path of your file, assuming the file is located in the search directories.
If you just want the path of a TS file that you have a reference to then there is a faster, easier method. You can use the Path property of the PropertyObjectFile class. In the attached example I use an AcitiveX Automation adapter step to call Path on the property RunState.SequenceFile. This returns the path to the current executing sequence file. Note that if you have not yet saved the sequence file then the path will be empty. In a subsequence step I strip off the file name leaving the root path of the file.

  • Getting the full file path from FormFile

Hi, I am reading in a .csv file from my JSP page and I want to pass the String path from my Action class to the logic layer class. When I try and pass it at the moment, it throws an FileNotFound error as it is only passing the file name. i.e
    Passing
    text.csv
    not
    C:\text.csv
Is there anyway of detirming the full file path using the FormFile class?
    Thanks in advance

    Yes, as in Struts.
I am not trying to upload the file, simply trying to read the contents from the file. My problem is that I want to read the contents from one of my business logic classes, not within my struts Action. I can get it working if I use
    byte[] datainfile = file.getFileData();
and then send that but the I would prefer to just send the full path to my Business logic class and process everything in there rather than doing some in my Action and some in my logic class.
So what I would like to put in my Action class is something such as
    processCSVFile(String filePath);
    instead of
    processCSVFile(Byte[] formFile);

  • Missing Photographs - 5,000 in total - is there a programmatic way to get the complete file paths missing?

    HostOS : Mac OS X
    LightRoom version : 4.4
I accidentally moved linked files over the past few years, and just discovered (via "Missing Photos" view) that I have 5,000 missing photos.
I know the master photos are on my hard disk drive ... so, that is the good news.
BUT I do not want to have to click to re-link all 5,000 missing photos one at a time.
Is there a way to programmatically get the list of file paths of those 5,000 missing photos on my MacOSX system  -- so that I can write an AppleScript to extract the unique image file name from the full file path extracted from LightRoom, locate the image in Finder, and move it back to the expected file path where Lightroom expects to find it?

If most of your reorganization consisted of moving whole folders rather than individual pics,  you can quickly relink entire folders, or even folders of folders, rather than individual pics.  In the Folders pane on the left, right-click the missing folder and select Find Missing Folder.
If you moved individual files rather than entire folders, then to get a list of the file paths of all the missing files, first do Library > Find All Missing Photos. Then use the ListView plugin to get a list of the photos' file paths into a text file.

  • How to get the current FILE PATH?

I want to get the File Path on my Java Programming, which class / method can get a File Path on the windows?
    thanks!

I want to get the current working directory(e.g.
    c:\Tomcat5.0\webapps\)
If this is a web application you're talking about and you want the directory where that application is installed, that's almost certainly not the CWD. It might be one of the context or whatever variables that's available to servlets. Look in the servlet API and see what's there.

  • Getting the entire file path using "Browse button"

    Hi All,
I searched the forum for the solution, but did not find it there.
I am using JFileChooser to browse and select a file.
then i have to pass this file as and argument to another java program where it reads the file and sends it to the server.
Now what i actually want is, when the file is selected i want to get the file nam along with the path i.e. C:/temp/temp.doc
instead i am getting only temp.doc.
I tried setting the JFileChooser mode as DIRECTORIES_ONLY. But that gives me only C:/temp and not the file name.
If i set it as FILES_AND_DIRECTORIES it again gives me only the file name and not the path.
    pls. help me. its urgent.
    thanks

What is wrong with JFileChooser.getSelectedFile()? From the returned File object you can get the canonical name which sounds to be what you want.

  • How Can I get the Jar file path ?

I have an aplication in a Jar file. This application might be situated in any directory.
I would like to know programatically the path where it was installed.
Is there any way to know this simple thing in Java? I cannot believe that there is not a function like System.getProperty("user.dir") for this as System.getProperty("user.dir") will always return the directory from where the Java VM was lauched!
    Thank you!

You can get the location with:
URL codeBase = getClass().getProtectionDomain().getCodeBase().getLocation();But as has been pointed out, it's probably better to specify the directory to store these files some other way, e.g. use a batch file or shell script to launch your program and make it the cuirrent directory, or put the directory in as a property or command argument.

  • The temporary file path is not valid.  Lightroom cannot start

    Windows XP, SP3, Lightroom 2.5.
External hard drive starts acting funny.  Round here we expect hard drive failure, so I order a new drive and when it arrives copy the backup onto the new drive.  The new drive has the same drive letter as the old one, but not the same name.  When I try to open a catalog I get: "The temporary file path is not valid.  Lightroom cannot start."  The catalogs seem to be fine, as when I open lightroom directly, not by clicking the .lrcat file, catalogs look normal.  If I copy the lrcat file to my internal hard drive it opens.  If I create a new catalog on the external drive I get the same problem.
I have tried deleting the preferences file.  I have tried deleteing and reinstalling lightroom.  I have used the external HD on another computer with lightroom and it opens normally.
All I can imagine is that there is some setting, somewhere in the registry which does not get erased when the lightroom gets re-installed.  Any guesses?
I am at a loss!  Please hope me!

Could be your Windows tempfile path is messed up. You could try going to Control Panel/Advanced and pushing the Environment Variables button.See what the TEMP and TMP variables are set to.
Under "User Variables", both of mine are set to C:\Documents and Settings\<my name>\Local Settings\Temp.
Under "System Variables", both are set to C:\Windows\Temp.
Make sure that the directories referred to are legal and on accessible drives. Make sure they aren't read-only. It wouldn't hurt to create them if they don't exist.
    It's worth a try, I think.

  • LastDialogtext does not show the whole file path

I am tring to get the file path for a dialog using rswapp.LastDialogtext. The value returned is shown as "M:\Regression_Tests\...\ASDERV.xls". The actual file path is "M:\Regression_Tests\SA!\SA Reports Test\ASDERV.xls". How can I get the full file path?

I am not doing anything really different when I am trying to capture that dialog. The dialog is generated when I press a button and tries to create a report. Before showing it in that dialog, it displays three other common IE dialogs Save, SaveAs and Close. All those are dismissed using Dialog Manager. This dialog is finally closed by clicking the X on the dialog. I am checking for its path before it closes using LastDialogText, which is not shown completely.

  • Getting the local full path name of a file from an item File Browser

    Hi all,
I would like to get the local full path name, of a file selected from an item 'File browser'.
I see in wwv_flow_files the column 'name', but actually it's a kind of id like 'F1542335/myFile.gif' for example.
What i want is the local path of this file ("C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\....\myFile.gif").
    I hope this is possible??
    Anyway, thanks all for reading.
    Ludo

Hello, thank you for the answer.
Please understand that I searched before posting, and not ony 15 min.
What i mean is that the value of a File Browser in an Apex applocation is something like 'F1542335/myFile.gif', but what I need is the local path location.
And 'F1542335/' is not the local path location, i can't use it. Or maybe there is a way to convert it in a proper path name, such as "C:\Documents and Settings\....", but I don't think so.
So my question is : how to get the local path name of a file in Apex?
I'll answer if I find some good things.
    Thanks
    Ludo

  • I am getting a photoshop error could not load photoshop because the preferences file was invalid and cln't load actions because of an unexpected end of file encountered.

I am getting a photoshop error could not load photoshop because the preferences file was invalid and cln't load actions because of an unexpected end of file encountered.

Are you trying to open Photoshop directly, or open it by double clicking on a Photoshop document, like a PSD file?  If the former, then you might need to reinstall.  Resetting Preferences would be the firs step, but I am not sure if that will work if Photoshop is not opening in the first place.
Try doing so anyway.  Hold down Shift Alt Ctrl (Shift Opt Cmd) while opening Photoshop. OK the message to delete Preferences.
If you get the unexpected end of file error while trying to open Photoshop via a PSD document, then there is more than a good chance that that file is toast.
If still stuck, we need to know Operating System, and Photoshop version.

  • NSImageView - How to get the image file's path?

I'm working on an image uploader application, and am having difficulties getting the info I want from an editable NSImageView. Basically I have an NSImageView object which the user can drag an image file to display a preview and add to the list of images to be uploaded. The image is loaded into the NSImageView just fine, however for my purposes I need access to the actual file path of the image.
The NSImageView target function is activated when an image file is dragged onto the view, however at that point an NSImage is provided and I have yet to figure out how to get access to the file name. Anyone have any suggestions regarding this?

    This may be helpful.

  • When I try to open CS5, I get an error message that it cannot initialize the preferences file because it has been deleted. How do I fix this?

The last time I used CS5, I changed the scratch disc in the preferences file; now Photoshop will not open saying that the preferences file has been deleted. I didn't delete the file. How do I fix this?

As you open Photoshop, hold Control + Alt + Shift (or Command + Option + Shift on a Mac). That will trigger a preferences reset dialog, Photoshop will go back to default state when you do that.
