Hi all,there's a problem i have and for which i couldn't yet find an answer (sorry if i was simply too blind).Can someone tell me if/how it is possible to find out the version of a report-file? I mean is it possible to determine from a *.rpt-file with which version of Crystal Report it originally was created?I am using two versions of Crystal Report. 8.5 and 11 but i can't find a way to get the information out of the according rpt-file.

Getting version information on jar files

I want to install the Portal Tools Application from PDK. There are some files to be copied to subdirectories of ORA_HOME. Some of the files like jewt4.jar already exists and according to the install guide you have to leave existing files unchanged when they are newer then the PDK files. To get version information you can ,according to the guide, check if the "Jar file contains a file with a version number , e.g., ...." How do I check this? Why is it not enough to check the last modified date of the files in explorer?

It's not enough to check the last modified date because this can easily be changed, e.g. by using 'touch'.
To check for these version numbers, in a unix environment do:
jar -tvf | grep version
In a windows env, open the jar file up in WinZip and scroll through the members, looking for a likely candidate.

Getting Error while using LKM File to Oracle(SQLLDR) KM in ODI

My Scenario :
1. I have my CSV file created in one location with some records .
2. Created a new interface having this CSV file as source(File Technology) and Table as target (Oracle technology)

Here the sales.log file is not created in the above directory .I am not getting where it is actually went wrong.
I searched for the solution and i could not find any.Please help me out as it is high priority for me.
I tried to run SQL*Loader through command prompt and i am able to generate the data in the target table and not getting it through ODI.
Atleast is there any workaround .Please suggest me.

Which agent are you using to execute?
Standalone? If standalone, did you start it with OPMN? I've seen such issues with standalone agent started with OPMN.
Generally these kind of issues occur when you try to run with standalone agent started with OPMN.
Because OPMN does not have access to the environment shell variables PATH or ORACLE_HOME and therefore the sqlldr.exe binary (or other Oracle product binary) is not found for execution.
In this case, you need to specify PATH and ORACLE_HOME variables in opmn.xml file like below for your agent(say "MyStandaloneAgent" in this case)

Getting error while using UTL files

hi All,
I'm getting following error -
ORA-29282: invalid file ID ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_FILE", line 774 ORA-06512: at "IMPORT_NEW", line 781 ORA-01722: invalid number
To used UTL i have done following steps -
1. created directory
2. grant read, write to that directory from sys
but every time I'm getting above error.
Can any one tell me, where am I going wrong?

How to get data by using only file name in XI

Dear All.
I have 2 senarios . How can I configure it in the Configuration?
1. get data from file name (xxx.txt) --> HTTP
2. convert data into text file --> File

dnt think so?, using a webpage to send the file to XI, you will sending data again to XI as a file, pls tell what is the puropose of using the webpage to copy file?
is this webpage only used to move the file from one loaction to other from which the XI can acess?
to which location this file is placed? if XI reads this file from somelocation then you do as relied in above use filesender adapter and do FCC then.....

Getting INVALID_OPERATION while using UTL file

Hi,
I have a procedure which makes different UTL files i.e data file, error file and log file for a Purchase order. These 3 sets of files are made for every purchase order.
So suppose in a cursor i find that there are 10 Purchase orders to process, then it should create 30 UTL files 10 sets of 3 files.
But when i run this procedure, after processing 3 PO's i.e after creating 9 files i get INVALID_OPERATION error.
So lets say i have 10 PO's 1 to 10 , i run for first time PO 1,2 and 3 utl files are created and then i get error. Then when i run it again processes PO number 4 to 6 and then again error...
So i want to know is there any restriction on number of UTL files you can create in a single procedure. i want urgent help, appreciate ur quick replies on this matter.

Hi,
There could be several reasons for this...
1. In inti ora file, what utl file directory was specified? is it 'C:\PLXML\DBDOM'? if not check.
2. Do u have C:\PLXML\DBDOM\Testfile.txt in your directory?
3. If you have above file in that directory and you have opened that file for writing purpose, close that.
Ur program looks ok. Also, dbms_output.put_line will display 255 charcters only(at least in 7.3).

Report file version too old

Hi, I hope I am in the right forum. I downloaded crystal report viewer 2008, but need to view a report that was created using an earlier version. The error message I get is as follows, " Report File version too old. This report was saved from a version of crystal report older than version 9 and cannot be viewed. To fix the problem please open and resave the report from a version of the crystal report designer application at least as recent as version 9".
How do I do this. I cant seem to get the older versions on the net anymore. Please help

The error message says "at least as recent as version 9".So, you can try with any version after 9.Following is the link to download a free trial version:

Can I get the Version a Crystal Report Was Designed Against

I'm working on a web application developed in C# using the Crystal Reports runtime 10.5 that came with Visual Studio.
What I am trying to do is to check the version of a Report File that the application is trying to run before actually running it.
So that a Report written in Crystal Reports 11 can be flagged as being potentially incompatiable (as it may contain new features not supported by the runtime).
Is there any way to get this version number in C# code?
Any help would be much appreciated.

In the application I'm working on people can write and upload their own Crystal Reports. The application then runs these reports for them (also doing other things such as exporting (PDF) and emailing the report).
At the minute, and in past releases the application uses the 10.5.3700.0 runtime. Everything functions fine in the application.
My only concern is that a user could write a report in Crystal 2008 using functionality that is in Crystal 2008 but not supported by the 10.5.3700.0 runtime.
Therefore when a user uploads a report I was hoping to analyse the rpt file to find out what version they used to design the report. Then if it is not designed in version 10, inform them that some functionality may not be supported by the current runtime.
I've had a go through code and found a property called MajorVersion which seemed to be just what I wanted, but it was Non-Public so unfortunately this wasn't available to use.

How can I change the report file name depending on which seq file is run in the main seq?

I'm using TestStand 3.0.
I have a main sequence file with a menu option to select one of several sequence files to run.
How can I get TestStand to change report file name to the selected sequence file rather than the main sequence file name?

Sounds like you opened and saved it in CC, so now you need to go back to CC and either complete the project there, or export to IDML to take it back into CS6.

No. After upgrading (and of course make a back up first) you will need to update iPhoto to v9.6.1 (you won't be able to do this prior to upgrading). Here's how:
Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
Photos is v1 of a new app, as yes it's not as mature as iPhoto. It uses a different technology for working with external editors. That requires Adobe to write an extension to let it hook into the new app. Not done yet, neither has anyone else.
Going forward: iPhoto will run on OS 10.10., but there is no guarantee for subsequent versions of the OS. You might want to factor that into your anger term thinking.

Did you reinstall lately?
My 10.4.11 Drive seemes to have iTunes 7.6.2 on it, have you tried Software update to see if iTunes is listed?
Another 10.4.11 drive has iTunes 6.05 on it... I hate upgrading iTunes, seems worse at every upgrade.
The 10.5.8 drive I'm booted from now has iTunes 8.02 on it.

King_Penguin - Thanks it worked perfectly. I had my pdf files copied into ITunes on my PC but when I clicked on a pdf file to copy it I thought the sidebar would appear with my IPAD name and then I would drag it over. I didn't realize that I needed to click-and start dragging it towards the left-hand side for the sidebar to appear. It worked like a charm - THANKYOU!!!
