Getting a query out of memory

When I look in v$sql and v$sqlarea I see sql_text is capped at 1000 characters. Is there a way to get complete queries longer than 1000 characters out of memory?

v$sqltext_with_newlines
select S.USERNAME||'('||s.sid||')-'||s.osuser UNAM
-- ,s.program||'-'||s.terminal||'('||s.machine||')' PROG
,s.sid||'/'||s.serial# sid
,s.status "Status",p.spid
,sql_text sqltext
from v$sqltext_with_newlines t,V$SESSION s , v$process p
where t.address =s.sql_address
and p.addr=s.paddr(+)
and t.hash_value = s.sql_hash_value
order by s.sid,t.piece

    Thanks - I did go through and change all the profiles to Apple RGB, there are several to choose - but I'm still having problems - I think it has to do with corrupt  images - Im backing up and starting over - I've worked with images large and small for years and never had this problem - thanks

  • Why do I get a Track out of memory error while running open loop frequency response?

    MatrixX Build 61mx1411: I get a "Track out of memory" error when I run the Open Loop Frequency Response from the MatrixX pull down tools. What can I do to prevent this? We are running on an HP B1000 with 768 MB of RAM under HP-UX 10.2.

    In the old days of Mx say Version 5 and prior the user actually selected the amount of memory that would be allocated. Depending on the size of the model etc. you would have to allocate memory. In version 6.0 and going forward there is no need for the user to manually allocate the memory.
    Build {rstack=50000,istack=200000,sstack=50000,cstack=500 000}
    If this is a command in a script file that you are running and the error is resulting from that then I would try commenting out everything after the letter d in the word build and then starting it back up.
    i.e. only use Build
    I don't believe that there is a way to manually allocate the initial SystemBuild Stack size.
    I believe initially the stack size is set to 10010.
    However, one way
    you can manually set the initial SystemBuild stack size,is to create a large StateSpace as soon as you start up SystemBuild. This will prevent piece-meal reallocs while using SystemBuild.
    You can created a new SuperBlock in SystemBuild and then drop down a StateSpace Block with 199 inputs and 199 Outputs and 1 State and entered ones(200,200)as the StateSpace Matrix without any problems. This would resize this internal stack to at least 40000.
    You really should not have to do this but if that helps then you might think about doing this in your startup.ms file you could use SBA or load the file then you could delete the superblock and begin working.
    "Bob" gave me this little tid bit.
    Please let me know if any of this is of use.

    Ok, first, let's set aside the issue of hugepages for a moment. (Personally, IMHO, if you're doing manual memory mangement, and you're not using hugepages, you're doing it wrong.)
    Anyhow, looking at your SHM parameters:
    kernel.shmall = 2097152
    kernel.shmmax = 4294967295
    kernel.shmmni = 4096
    Let's take those in reverse order:
    1.) shmmni - This is the max number of shared memory segments you can have on your system, regardless of the size of each segment.
    2.) shmmax - Contrary to popular belief, this is NOT the max amount of shared memory you can allocate system wide! This is the max size, in bytes of a single shared memory segment. You currently have it set to 4GB-1. This is probably fine. Even if you wanted an SGA larger than 4GB, having shmmax set to this wouldn't hurt you. Oracle would simply allocate multiple shared memory segments, until it had allocated enough memory for the SGA. There's really no harm there, unless this parameter is set really low, causing a huge number of tiny shared memory segments to be allocated.
    3.) shmall - This is the real shared memory segment limit. This number is the total amount of shared memory you're permitted to allocate, system wide, expressed in pages. Pagesize here is the native OS pagesize, which is 4096 bytes, so, this is 2097152 * 4096 = 8589934592, or, 8GB. So, 8GB is the maximum amount of memory that can currnetly be allocated to shared memory, on your machine.
    So, having said all that, you haven't mentioned how many, if any, other Oracle databases are running on the server or their sizes. Secondly, we have no idea what memory sizing parameters you have set on the database that you're trying to create, that's getting the error.
    So, if you can provide more details, in terms of how many other databases are already on this server, and their SGA sizes, and the parameters you've chosen for the database that's failing to create, perhaps we can help more.
    Finally, if you're not using SGA_TARGET or MEMORY_TARGET, you really need to take the time to configure hugepages. Particularly if you've got a server that has as much memory as you do, and you're planning to have non-trivially sized SGA (10s of GB), then you really want to configure hugepages.
    Hope that helps,
    -Mark

  • Getting HeapDump on out of memory error when executing method through JNI

    I have a C++ code that executes a method inside the jvm through the JNI.
    I have a memory leak in my java code that results an out of memory error, this exception is caught in my C++ code and as a result the heap dump is not created on the disk.
    I am running the jvm with
    -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError
    -XX:HeapDumpPath=C:\x.hprof
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    I'll rephrase it then.
    I have a java class named PbsExecuter and one static method in it ExecuteCommand.
    I am calling this method through JNI (using CallStaticObjectMethod). sometimes this method causes the jvm to throw OutOfMemoryError and I would like to get a heap dump on the disk when this happens in order to locate my memory leak.
    I've started the jvm with JNI_CreateJavaVM and I've put two options inside the JavaVMInitArgs that is used to create the Jvm. -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError and -XX:HeapDumpPath=C:\x.hprof
    which supposed to create a heap dump on the disk when OutOfMemoryError occurs.
    Normally if I would execute normal java code, when this exception would occur and I wouldn't catch it the Jvm would crash and the heap dump would be created on the disk.
    Since I need to handle errors in my C++ code I am use ExceptionOccured() and extracts the exception message from the exception it self and write it.
    For some reason when I execute this method through JNI it doesn't create the dump.

  • Host 'cp .. ; compress' get the error 'out of memory'

    When call the backup sql script, there is one host command to
    copy the datafile to stage and compress it, but sometime the
    script cause the server hang, log message show 'out of memory'.
    ORACLE server still keep running and no any process can star
    even can not login the server.
    The script as follow
    alter tablesapce xxxx begin backup;
    !cp datafile stage; ! compress stage/datafile;
    alter tablespace xxxx end backup;
    Any solution for this problem ? When 'cp' or 'compress' can not

  • I have 12 brand new installs of 27" I-Macs, all running Adobe CC. I have several users trying to make simple saves and getting Error -108 Out of Memory errors.

    The Mac OS is 10.9.5.
    I've already gone into plug ins and Scratch disk preferences and changed the secondary  location to the user's hard drive, but this does not solve the problem.
    I cannot change the "primary " from Startup, but I did change the secondary to the user's ID instead of None.
    These are all brand new Macs in use no more than two weeks.

    Windows 7 includes DirectX 11 in its baseline and it is not necessary to install another version of it.  Your problems may be caused by the installation of the version of DirectX you installed.  Uninstall the one you installed and see if you
    still have the errors.

  • Hyperion IR : Getting out of memory error while fetching data for whole year through web client (wrokspace)

    Hi,
    While fetching data though IR wen client from workspace for a year(all 12 months) I am getting error as ("Out of Memory .Advice : Close other applications or windows and try again").
    If I am trying same through IR studio it does not give any output and show me same repoting front page.
    If i am selecting periods till 8 months it is giving the required data in both IR web client and IR studio.
    Could you please suggest how can we resolve this issue.
    Thanks,
    D.N.Rana

    Issue Cause :
    Sometimes this is due to excessive data which brings the size of the BQY file up around one gigabyte uncompressed in size (for processing may take twice as actual RAM, plus the memory space space for the plugin, and the typical memory limit on a 32-bit system is 2 gigabytes).
    Solution :
    To avoid excessive BQY size exceeding memory availability:
    Ensure that your computer has at least 2Gb of free RAM before he runs IR Studio.
    Put a limit to the number of rows that can be pulled down: Right click on Request label of Query section and put a value in Return First xxx Rows (and check the check box).
    Do not pull down more than 750 MB of data (remember it may be duplicated while processing).
    Place limits or aggregations in Query section (as opposed to Result section) to limit data entering the BQY.

  • Oracle Service Bus For loop getting out of memory error

    I have a business service that is based on a JCA adapter to fetch an undertimed amout of records from a database.  I then need to upload those to another system using a webservice designed by an external source.  This web service will only accept upto to x amount of records.
    The process:
    for each object in the Jca Response
          Insert object into Service callout Request body

    It appears to be the service callout that is the problem (it calls another OSB service that logins and performs the data upload to the External service)  because If I change the batch size up to 100  the loop will load all the 89 records into the callout request and execute it fine.  If I have a small batch size then I run out of memory.
    Is there some settings I need to change?  Is there a better way in OSB (less memory intensive than service callout in a for loop)?
    Thanks.

  • Client Out of Memory error when running bex report

    Hi,
    when i am running a finance report which got complex selection in the bex i am getting Error " Client Out of Memory" which terminates  report processing.
    I request you to through some light on  following questions
    1. is this problem related to user system or bi server
    2 is there any settings or allocation of memory in bi server and  where can we do that
    with Advance thanks
    Sarath Kumar

    Well, probably yoru query is very big.....
    Are you using 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN as default template?
    This template uses "paging" and avoid these kind of situations.
    Also, there is a note which threats this problem
    1127156 -  Safety belt: Result set is too large
    Cheers

  • Out of Memory (ODBC)

    Hi all,
    My client is currently experiencing an issue when trying to print a Purchase Order where he gets an error( out of memory(ODBC)) when previewing the Order.
    Please help,
    Aubrey

    Hi,
    If you have changed the layout in terms of adding any field without a link to the master then query will not give proper results and it will crash giving you a memory error.
    Try running the system template and compare that with your default PLD and track the changes.
    thanking you

  • Out Of Memory Error every time my playhead reaches a slug I placed in timel

    The past two days in one particular project I get an Error: Out Of Memory every time I play from the timeline and the playhead reaches the slugs I placed for the commercial breaks. I thought maybe the problem was with the commercial sequence I placed over the slug but I deleted it and still get the problem. When I get the message and then advance the playhead a little further to the right, but still over the slug, and press play I get a loud static cracking sound and the error message reappears. When I advance the playhead and hit play again FCP crashes. This happens in this order every time I reach a slug in the timeline. I am using FCP 6.0.5 (reinstalled last night) the project is HDV 1080i60 and I have a Mac Pro Quad Core with 6 GB of memory and I am saving to a esata Raid drive. I have ordered new memory although I do not think that is the problem. Why does stuff like this happen every time a deadline approaches?

    meh... spoke too soon! I find that edit-to-tape (assembly edit on Sony HVRM-15 DVCAM mode) is unreliable whenever there is a slug in the timeline. Typically playhback crashes a few seconds after we hit the slug.
    Im working around this by either using "black" clips rather than slug, or by dumping out the entire sequence to a separate QT movie, and then sending that out to tape.
    Its puzzling that my current-gen quad-core mac pro (4GB memory total, NVIDEA 8800 card, seagate 250GB internal video drives) seems to be having such a hard time handling this...

    Hello,
    I have a very anoying problem.
    I've written a self-learning program that parses a lot of sentences (> 800.000). For the storage of my objects i use hashmap and the program is very quick. It parses 300.000 sentences an hour.
    After the training the data must be hold into a file. But because of the fact that the hashtables are very hugh (they can contain more than 500.000 objects) the writing to the file takes a very long time (more than 6 hours). As a consequence I get always an out of memory exception. (this is certainly the case when there are more processes running on the same machine)
    So now I want to solve the two problems:
    - I want to write the objects faster to file
    - I want to get rid of that memoryexception because the writing to a file takes a lot of memory.
    The program it self uses 600Ram wich is enough if I mustn't write to a file.
    In fact I write those hashmaps in one time to a file using the serialization method.
    this is the code I use for writing:
    ObjectOutputStream out = new ObjectOutputStream(
    new FileOutputStream("test.out"));
    out.writeObject(hashmap);
    out.flush();
    out.close();
    the code for reading is analog:
    ObjectInputStream in = new ObjectInputStream(new FileInputStream("test.dat"));
    in.readObject(hashmap);
    As the writing takes such a long time, the reading from the file would take also many time so now I can't stop the program because when I have to start it again it takes too much time
    Is there anyone who knows who I can write quicklyer to the file and in such a way that it needs less of memory.
    Idem for the reading?
    Thanks a lot
    Sara

    Hi,
    writing objects with ObjectOutputStream is not efficient because it writes every byte to the stream without buffering. The other issue is the generality - it must be able to write any kind of object.
    If your HashMap consist of strings only, it will be faster to write it out as a text file (with BufferedOutputStream). You might write the capacity of the hashmap as the first line and read it by loading the file. Then use this number to set the initial capacity of the new hashmap you ceate.
    If you have questions how to make it - please let me know.
