Getting a Row in Access
Hello there:
Is there a way that I can get a specific Row from Access. For example, if I'm trying to pull the info from row 30 what should I do?
I've tryied things like
rs.getRow(30)
and
rs.absolute(30)
but have had no success.
Does anyone know?

Now I understand the problem. TYPE_FORWARD_ONLY in the
JdbcOdbcDriver is preventing me from do what id like
to do. Let's say I have 500 records and I want to get
the column values from record 485 really fast, I
wouldn't want to use rs.next() to past thru 484 rows
before getting to 485. rs.absolute() would be
perfect. rs.relative() would come in handy too.
Can anyone recommend the appropriate driver and a URL
path to download it?
Thank you in advance!i think you are still better off getting the row you want using sql. why do you want the 485th row or any other arbitrary number. why don't you just use the where clause in the select statement.
i suggest this because no matter what kind of scrolling the driver supports you will be still loading all the data into the result set which is the performance issue you have identified.

I did "Wrap in subfrom" on the table, set subform of the table to "flowed", and checked "Repeat row for each data item" of Row1 of the table.
But I can get only one row on the table object.

best practices when deleting multiple rows is to do this on the business service, not the view layer for performance reasons. When you selected the rows to delete and press submit, then in a managed bean you access thetable instance (put a reference to a managed bean from the table "binding" property") and call getSeletedRowKeys. In JDeveloper 11g, ADF Faces returns the RowKeySet as a Set of List, where each list conatins the server side row key (e.g. oracle.jbo.Key) if you use ADF BC. Then you create a List (ArrayList) with this keys in it and call a method exposed on the business service (through a method activity in ADF) and pass the list as an argument. On the server side you then access the View Object that holds the data and find the row to delte by the keys in the list

Getting ORA-00376 while accessing from application
Hi,
Application team is getting below error while accessing the database.
“ERROR: SQLException, while closing
connection, exception is ==ORA-00376: file 5 cannot be read at this time
ORA-01110: data file 5: '/dborafiles/nGTA/oradata01/smartsgs/tblspcsmarts01.dbf'
Later we renamed the datafile from tblspcsmarts01.dbf to tblspcsmarts_01.dbf, and still getting the same error while accessing the application.
And, the datafiles are in online and READ WRITE mode.

Adf Table has getSelectedRowKeys but SelectManyChekcbox does not has anything similar. Can you tell me how to get selected row keys programmatically for RichSelectManyCheckbox?

selectManyCheckbox component's value property holds the selected items values. Bind this property to some bean variable(of type list) so that you can get the selected values by accessing the bean property.

Cannot get all rows from cfProcResult
We upgraded one of our servers (A) from CF 6 to 7.02. Another
server (B) has CF 7.01.
On server B (CF 7.01) the code works (below), all rows of
each dataset are returned.
Now on server A (CF 7.02) all of the resulting datasets have
only the first record in them. If I add maxrows="-1" to each of the
cfProcResult tags there is no change. If I change that to
maxrows="100" then I can get the rows up to 100.
Is this a bug or is there a different means to return all
rows?It think its a bug. I got the same results under MX 7.0.2.
The topic of maxrows recently came up on another thread. I
did some searching and according to TechNote 18339 there was a
change with maxrow
"<cfquery maxrows=N> bug. ColdFusion MX (until ColdFusion
MX 7.0.1 CHF2) didn't pass maxrows to the underlying driver
(statement.setMaxRows())"
Given the results you're getting, it sounds like CF is
applying the maxrow to all of the resultsets, not just the one
where maxrows was declared. I suspect cfstoredproc's usage of
statement.setMaxRows() is incorrect. Thats just a guess though.
Bottom line, I think you'll need handle it manually.
Personally, I would recommend placing the row count logic in the
stored procedure (if possible). The overall results will be more
consistent and you won't have to worry about this kind of issue
again.

You have a table in your page that is based on a viewObject iterator and you need to get the selected row in your backing bean when you click on a button.
Did I get this right?
If so then you need to add an actionListener on this button that executes a method in the backing bean.

suppose i have a table having columns id(number), code(varchar).
code has alphanumeric characters (ex. ABC123, 67B56 etc).
some codes are only numbers (2344, 7898 etc).
how can i get the rows which have alphabets in the code.
ex:

When I use my Apple TV and try to play music from my computer I get an error: "To access your iTunes library on Apple TV, turn on Home Sharing in iTunes on your computer using 'myname'"
On my computer n iTunes Preferences / Sharing I have the "Share my library on my local network" checked with "Share entire library" -- no password, no update play counts. I've turned it off and on again.
The Apple TV settings show we are "talking to" my WIFI -- it has my network, shows a good signal strenght, all sorts of internet addresses and IP stuff I don't understand ...
The "Internet" tab works with some of those things I'd never use -- like I see the current NHL standings.
My TV works and I get an ATV signal and those little chimes / bongs when I hit things in the menu. And when it works I get audio so the cables and TV are okay.
In the past I had trouble with the settings for my favourite Internet Radio stations (the provider changed their URL but Apple didn't update the presets for a while) but those are now resolved.
I had a crappy old G class router and week signal strenght but I have a new N class Cisco router with a strong signal.
But other things are wonky:
* I play interent radio and my station will go fine for about five minutes then stop -- the little wheel spins trying to reconnect. Sometimes it resets but more often than not it won't. I just tried again four hours later and the same thing.
* I've unplugged the ATV and plugged it back in but no noticable improvement
* I tried to do the factory reset from the ATV menu. It says it will download the latest bla bla bla and after a few minutes tells me "Apple TV can't download latest update right now, try again later" -- I've tried three times today always with the same results.
* I unhooked it from the power and HDMI and plugged it into a Micro USB cable and plugged that into my Mac -- it doesn't show up in the devices in iTunes.
* I have a bunch of photos in a folder that I use for my ATV Screen Saver. A few weeks ago I added two photos to that folder -- they don't show up in the ATV screen show but the others still do.
* When I started today I checked my iTunes and the airplay icon didn't show in the bottom right (beside the genious icon and the little thing to show or hide the sidebar). Now I noticed the Airplay icon is there. When I try to switch from playing through my computer speaakers to my Apple TV I get an error "An unknown error (-15006) occurred while connecting to the Airplay device "Apple TV"" -- the ATV shows that Airplay is on.
* I see from the ATV settings that I'm running ATV Software 4.4.3 (3323) and when I do a "Update Software" on the ATV it tells me that my software is current.
* My iTunes is 10.5.2 (11) and my OS is 10.6.8 -- both are up to date.

I love the idea of the ATV more than I have loved the little black box but ... famous last words ... my ATV seems to be working better these days.
A big challenge for me was too many variables at play -- new router, new ATV OS / firmware / whatever, changing internet radio presets, a less than perfect physical set up ... and a short attention span from yours truly.
Here's what I did. Somwhere in these changes things got "fixed."
* I unhooked the ATV and did a factory restore by hard wiring the ATV to my computer with a micro USB cable (no external power needed) working through iTunes (I run iTunes 10.5.2 on an iMac with OS X 10.6.8).
* after the reset I now have ATV (is that an operating system or a firmware?) 4.4.4
* then I plugged it back into my home theatre and it didn't work :-) but in slightly different ways. The settings showed that I was connected to my home network but I couln't get connected using my Apple ID and no internet radio. (it is often counterintuitive -- like why when I want my ATV to talk to my iMac over my local network am I logging in to the iTnes Store with my Apple ID? but there you go.)
* I booked with the genius bar at the Apple Store and put my ATV in my pocket. They pulled out a TV, HDMI cable, ATV power source and even the remote -- all I provided was my little black ATV. We hooked the ATV to their TV and from the Apple Store (using thier WIFI) I logged in using my Apple ID and the thing worked fine.
* so now I knew that my ATV was up to date and it worked in the Apple Store using their network so it looked like the issue was my network.
* rebooted my router and noticed that when I had upgraded to the new super dooper Cisco n router we had plugged my iMac direct to the router via ethernet cable. I unhooked the ethernet and now just run my computer WIFI using AirPort.
And ...
It works. I use my ATV exclusivly for music -- my iTunes and internet radio and AirPlay -- and now both work fine. The ATV does pick up photos from my iPhoto for the screen saver and all that other stuff -- netflix, youtube, the hockey scores, ... all seem to be there. And my son played a video off his iPod Touch using AirPlay.
I know my approach is more scattered than a proper scientific try but ...
From my experience ... reset the ATV and get it up to date; see if it will work on someone else's network; check your network set up.

How do I get Front Row to work with Lion? I have an iMac 27 inch computer and is the sole entertainment provider for my bedroom. I refuse to put a TV in my room and wanted to know how to get Front Row to work again on my mac? It seems that the upgrade to Lion erased the app.
I have quite a few movies and series that I bought off iTunes and is a shame that I can't use a media center app like Front Row on Lion.I kind of have the opposite problem. I need to know how to turn off my remote on the computer. I am using the remote for my Apple TV and it keeps making the volume on my Computer go up and down (with annoying sounds).
There used to be a way to un-sync the remote with the comp but I cannot remember how and the Apple help is not much help! I have Lion.
