Getting Arch to see the card
I just got a Thinkpad R50e and have been trying to get Arch to work with Wifi on it (it uses the ipw2200 driver). I've got the modules all installed and loaded and stuff, but Arch doesn't seem to see the device:

It's only detecting my ethernet card. I find this really weird because Debian and Slackware both see the wifi as eth1 when I do ipconfig -a and a previous installation of Arch I had on here (yesterday -- I borked it by accident and reinstalled) was able to see it.
How do I get this install to see it?

To install ipw2200 and other packages.
#nano /etc/rc.conf
To edit your start-up options.
It should look something like this if eth1 if your ipw2200 card ..

To edit your wireless settings ..
It should look something like this ...

Then reboot.
A few checks & tests if you have any problems ...

by installing from within Firefox, Internet Explorer has its own version (Active-X).

For whatever reason, I am frequently getting delays in seeing the characters after I type.

I have downloaded the latest add-ons and Flow Scroll w no improvement and moved the remote sensor closer to the keyboard and changed the batteries numerous times but because the issue is with only certain programs I wonder if it is Firefox that is having the problem? You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them).

My iMac does not see the new Toshiba external drive in Finder or Disk Utility. How can I get it to see the drive?
From the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences ▹ Energy Saver ▹ Power Adapter
and uncheck the box labeled Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible, if it's checked.
If the drive has more than one interface (USB, FireWire, Thunderbolt, eSATA), try one of the other interfaces.
Check that the data cable is securely inserted at both ends.
Try a different cable.
If you're connecting the drive through a hub, connect it directly to a built-in port on the Mac.
If you're connecting it directly, try a different port.
Disconnect all other devices on the bus, or as many as possible.
Test the drive with another Mac. Test another drive with this Mac.
If the drive is bus-powered, but has an AC adapter, connect the adapter.
Start up in Recovery mode and launch Disk Utility. Is the drive recognized?
Start up in Safe Mode and test.
Reset the NVRAM.
Reset the System Management Controller.
If the drive doesn't work under any of the above conditions, and if another drive does work with the same Mac, then the drive is malfunctioning. -
How can I get iPhoto to see the edited iPhone 4s photo?
I have a new iPhone 4s. I take a picture. I edit it and save it to the iPhone. Then, I sync my phone with my Mac, open iPhoto. Only the original photos appear, not the one I edited and saved. Yet, if I e-mail the photo to myself, I can see the edited version. So, how do I get iPhoto to see the edited version.
8 MP is the resolution of the camera sensor. Images are compressed when stored so quite a bit smaller. The compression ratio depends on the level of detail in the image.

looking for help syncing my ipad with pc after I upgraded to the latest itunes 10.4 it did not sync with the ipad. Hard time seeing the ipad when it did started to sync it stopped would not let me finish. I can no longer get my programs to work on the ipad and now when I go to sync it itunes it freezes and does allow me to see the device. This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.

I have a Nikon Coolpix P500 but am unable to download photos from it to my iPad2 via the iPad Camera Connection kit. The iPad does not see either the Sandisk 8GB card or the Nikon camera. I have turned the camera on, but it seems that the camera just want to recharge its battery through the iPad as the iPad states that the devices draws too much power?? Anybodu solved this problem yet? Advise please?
One thing to check is the format that the camera is saving pics to the card in. Many are selectable and, in most cases, if PTP is one of the options then you need to have that one selected for the files to be visible to iOS and the CCK (connection kit).
Another thing which sometimes comes up, especially with older cameras and therefore probably not with yours, is the filenaming conventions used by the camera. iOS is quite strict about what it expects to see and if files are being stored with unsupported name formats then they simply won't be seen at all. -
How to get iMovie to see the video
hi- i have done everything to the letter according to instructions to get iMovie to actually display the footage on my GL2.
iMovie says 'camera connected', and i can control the playback of the camera from iMovie.
however, the actual iMovie screen stays blue. i can see the footage in my camera view window, but zilch on the actual iMovie screen.
help.
yes i removed the backup battery, i re-set date and time a few times, disconnected cables, etc, trust me.

Getting xbox to see the 5ghz band
I just upgraded to a wrt400n router so that I could try to avoid the bottleneck that I was getting using an older linksys g router. I'd like to direct the xbox only to the 5ghz band and just run the laptops on the 2.4 band, but at the moment the xbox is only "seeing" the 2.4 network id. The xbox wireless adapter supports both bands. I went to the 1-800 number for Cisco but they were no help at all. Xbox was no help either. any ideas?
the paperwork for the adaptors on both my son's and my husband's x-boxes says that they work on 5ghz and 2.5 ghz. My son's x-box, which is fairly close to the router, now recognizes and operates on the 5 ghz band. I don't know why it started working, I didn't do anything to the settings. My husband's x-box, which is farther from the router, sometimes sees the 5ghz band, but won't connect on it; at a guess, I'd say it's dropping the signal. I have the fastest service roadrunner provides. Is this an issue with the roadrunner service, do you think, or is it more likely something to do with the distance between my husband's x-box and the router? Is the 2.4 ghz better at greater distances?

How do I get Explorer to see the Navigation Bar on a site published to a CD
I built a site in iWeb and published it to a Folder on my desktop then burned the folder to a CD. It works fine in Safari but Explorer can't see the top line (the Navigation Bar) so it is useless to anyone with a PC that doesn't have Safari installed. Is there a solution?

I have a sony trv27 camcorder and PE7 on a XP PC. The camera came with Pixela and it works but doesn't do much. It does however see the camcorder but PE7 doesn't. What do I do with this? Thanks.
That means you may not use Premiere Elements to directly control the camera for video capture
You may... IF the video you capture with Pixela is compatible... edit your video with PE
What kind of video is captured with Pixela?
