Getting at a Tile's children's children ?

I've been puzzling with this for 2 days now and it's driving
me crazy - please help me if you can.
Using AS I add children to a Tile. Each child consist of a
<vbox> containing 2 <image>. What I want to do, is to
be able to loop through the Tile and get to the source of each
<image>. But I can only access the <vbox>.
I've been trying to use tile1.getChildAt(i).numChildren - but
no luck. Feel's like I've exhausted my options.

Getting a TreeNode with its Children

Hi Guys
DefaultMutableTreeNode node = (DefaultMutableTreeNode)tree.getLastSelectedPathComponent();I'm using the above statement to get the selected node ofa JTree, the problem being the node returned does not contain any children and it definitely has children below it in my JTree.
Any Ideas.

How do I get out of "tile vertically"

I went to window>tile vertically and then tried to get out of it but can't. there is no check by it. then I clicked on tile horiz and cascade. nothing gets me back to my original window. How do I do it??? Thanks.

If it is set to tile vertically, to get out of it just double left click the title area of one of the panels (the area above the rules). That is how it work on a pc.

question is regarding how to get a composite component's children components. Once I get the list of children components I can iterate through them but how do I get that list? :

All composite components are NamingContainers. This is necessary to prevent ID collisions.
In order to avoid a generated ID on a particulare composite component, specify an ID in the component
within the using page:

</h:form>So the client ID of the text component would be: form:c:text.

Difference in results while using .CHILDREN and .ALLMEMBERS

I have two almost similar MDX queries, in one I am using .CHILDREN and in other .ALLMEMBERS. First one returns no rows, the second one returns two. Please help me in understanding why!

EDIT: Some clarifications: AccidentDate is one of the Dimensions in my Cube [AW Cube]. Year is a natural hierarchy while [Year-Quarter-Month-Date] is an user defined hierarchy. [Year-Quarter-Month-Date] is created in the below way: Year-->Month--->Quarter--->Date.
So 'years' can be obtained by doing [Accident Date].[Year-Quarter-Month-Date].[Year].members and also [Accident Date].[Year].MEMBERS. Hope I am clear.

Well, got the answer myself.
Actually every ".CHILDREN" gets internally translated to ".CURRENTMEMBER.CHILDREN"
Now, [Accident Date].[Year].&[2010] is the corresponding value for the slicer on user defined hierarchy.
Here,
"[Accident Date].[Year].CHILDREN"
actually gets translated to
"[Accident Date].[Year].&[2010].CHILDREN"
which is basically an empty set. Hence, Voila! The empty result set!

ADG summary row children count

Hi all
Can anyone please tell me the best way to include a count of direct children in a grouping collection summary row? My data has two grouping fields and I can use a summaryfield to get a count of ALL children from depths 2 and 3 but I only want the direct children from the next level down.

Managed to find a resolution to this myself. Although not in the summary row itself, I was able to use this in my group item renderer...

I am getting strange numeric symbols or tiles instead of text when using Firefox. Repeated reloads and virus scans have not fixed it. I can't find a patch. Help! I hate IE!

Each time I open Firefox, I get blocks or tiles of numbers for each character instead of text. The tiles appear as composites of four digits, stacked two by two. At some websites, normal text does appear in boxes but mostly as this numeric gibberish. The functionality of the Firefox software does not seem to have been affected. But if I can't read it, I can't use it.

Try to set the pref <b>gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.use_gdi_table_loading</b> to <i>false</i> on the <b>about:config</b> page.

How do I make web shortcuts into start screen tiles that can be pushed to all users profile on a computer in Windows 8.1 enterprise?

We are trying to roll out Windows 8.1 Enterpise in our school system (K-12).
The focus of this question is how do we take an internet web based shortcut and make it into a screen tile (on the start screen) which will appear for any user's start screen that logs on to the computer?
The details:
We came upon a great paper that's entitled "Customize Windows 8.1 Start Screens by Using Group Policy".
By applying this paper we were able to accomplish our first goal: Lock down the start screen so no user could change it. We accomplished this by using the Start Screen Layout policy setting laid out in the paper.
Our second goal: to customize the start screen is only half way met. We can set up the start screen the way we want and then export the .xml file. We are able to "reimport" the .xml file when the new user logs in. The installed programs
will appear on the Start Screen but not the internet based web shortcuts that were on the inital setup start screen.
(FYI - tried creating these tiles by running the start screen internet explorer app to the intended address and pinning them to the start screen. At this time trying to figure if there is a place to put desktop internet short cuts into a directory to make
them appear on the Start Screen).
We can see that the directory: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs is a place for program files to appear on the start screen. Is there a location web based shortcuts can be placed to cause them to automatically appear on the start
screen for every user as well? If not how do we accomplish getting these into tiles for every user logging in?
Sorry for the lengthy explanation. Hopefully it gets our question answered and helps others out there in the same boat!

Results: Did not work. The web based shortcuts did not appear.
Below is the steps taken with your tips incorporated. (Again it's lengthy sorry about that, but anyone can recreate what was done here. Maybe someone can see something left out by doing/reviewing it).
Here is what was done:
1. Installed a fresh install of Windows 8.1 enterprise on a pc. No updates were ran.
2. During setup created the admin account.
3. Logged into the account a simple start screen was arranged and setup by:
Starting desktop Internet Explorer. Going to Technet's website. Clicked tools and then selecting "Add site to Apps" from the drop down menu. Went to Apps screen, right clicked and pinned it to start screen. Repeated this procedure with an
educational web based site.
Right clicked a few provisioned apps and unpinned them from the start screen.
Made a few groups and labeled them. Web based shortcuts were arranged with one provisioned app in that particular group.
4. Opened a Powershell, right clicked it and ran as administrator. Typed the following:
export-startlayout -path C:\Users\Public\Master.xml -as xml
(Master is the name chosen for this test .xml file and was put in a location all users would have privelages to access it).
5. Opened the command prompt and right clicked and "ran as administrator", typed in gpedit.
6. In the Local Group Policy under User Configuration, under Start Menu and Taskbar I choose the Start Screen Layout.
7. Enabled the policy and typed in: C:\Users\Public\Master.xml for the Start Layout File.
8. Opened computer management, under Local Users and Groups I chose Users, right clicked in the middle screen and created a new user called Alpha.
9. Logged out of the inital account and logged into newly created Alpha account.
10. When the Alpha account logged in the start screen came up with everything changed in the inital account but no web based shortcuts were found on the start screen or App view.

I�m working with Struts 1.1 and Tiles, under Tomcat 5.0.16
My application works fine using Struts 1.1 alone, however, when attempting to run the application in a �Tiles� environment, I get an error:

How to incorporate live tiles into a Project Siena app (kinda)

I have been playing around with getting some live tiles into my project siena app (Astronomy Action Centre), and at last I have managed it.
What I did was as follows
Publish your app as normal and import it into Visual Studio
When you have it imported paste this code into the init.js file. I pasted mine into the following location of that file. Near the top of the file (just before the var statements)

Now save and run your app, if you browse to your Start menu and pin your app you should see the live tiles updating.
the caveat is that you have no control over the layout of the tiles, it seems to work best in wide and square format, the large tile updates but keeps repeating the same news.
So there it is live tiles on a project siena app.

If you aren't going to use a live tile on an actual website, you don't have to use buildmypinnedsite dot com.
Here is a template. If you have multiple REST/RSS sources, you can use different sources for each of the 5 items that are cycled. They can be from different sites. You need to check if images in the feeds are enclosures. If they are, then the feed won't
work properly. You can use text and image based feeds or text only, just don't use any that have enclosed images. Here is a template you can copy and paste. replace the red text with your own customized information.

How to I save an internet page to the window tiles on the start page, using firefox?

I just switched to firefox and would like to use it for the tiles I have saved on my start page. How do I get those saved tiles to now use the firefix browser instead of Internet Explorer?

If this is something in Windows and the about:newtab page in Firefox then make sure that those tiles use the default browser and that Firefox is set correctly as the default browser.

I have realized the follow:
The error occurs on:
     <tiles:put name="pageTitle" direct="true">
          <tiles:get name="pageTitle" />
     </tiles:put>
if I change to:
     <tiles:put name="pageTitle" direct="true">
          <tiles:getAsString name="pageTitle" />
     </tiles:put>
it works!?
But the application is entire using the first code example ! I need other solution to this!

Firefox tile appearance on 8.1

When I look at my field of apps logos I can see the firefox tile, blue background with round fox. After update from 8 to 8.1 I see the same tile, but when I pin it to start all I get is the blue background. No fox. How do I get the complete tile? I lost my fox. Thank you.

How to make ns:Image tile or repeat?

How can one make the ns:Image be tileable or have it repeat over and over again in the area provided?

So I have devised a not so clever way to do this but I haven't worked out all the kinks yet and I need help from all of you
Here's the plan:
1) Have a DataGroup inside the are where you want to tile an ns:Image
2) Enable theclipAndEnableScrolling on the DataGroup
3) Feed a dynamically generated ArrayCollection which has a reference to the same image repeated enough times so as to cause a horizontal and vertical overflow.
4) Apply a TileLayout to the DataGroup
5) And hopefully we get something that tile dynamically loaded images.
The problem right now is that I also need to set the requestedColumnCount on TileLayout to make sure that I ask it to show more columns than it respectably can, therefore, causing the clipping to happen horizontally (vertically is already working) for the tiled image as well.
a) Setting requestedColumnCount="2" (static binding) works but I don't want to hardcode that as it may be a diff # for diff size images.
b) So I have requestedColumnCount="{(dataGroup.width / image1.width) + 1}" but even though I can see the dynamically calculated number "2" being being set on TileLayout.as when I step through it in debug mode ... it doesn't have the same effect as the static binding any ideas?
