Getting class names in jconsole

Hello,
Is it possible to get class names which are loaded in the memory using jconsole?
I am using jdk 1.5. I have configured jmx in my Weblogic 9.2.
I am able to find the memory usage by the application, but i dont know how to get those class names in jconsole.

Sampath

Hi,
we ckeck all the class names in package.
first goto se80.select package and give package name and click on display button.it will display all the structures,classes which are assigned to that particular package .in that select class it will expand and displays all the names.
Cheers,
vasavi.
kindly reward if helpful.

  • How to create object by getting class name as input

    hi
    i need to create object for the existing classes by getting class name as input from the user at run time.
    how can i do it.
    for exapmle ExpnEvaluation is a class, i will get this class name as input and store it in a string
    String classname = "ExpnEvaluation";
    now how can i create object for the class ExpnEvaluation by using the string classname in which the class name is storted
    Thanks in advance

    i think we have to cast it, can u help me how to cast
    the obj to the classname that i get as inputThat's exactly the point why you shouldn't be doing this. You can't have a dynamic cast at compile time already. It doesn't make sense. Which is also the reason why class.forName().newInstance() is a very nice but also often very useless tool, unless the classes loaded all share a mutual interface.

  • How to get Class Name given along with java.exe

    Hi friends,
    I am Mukesh, currently facing one problem
    On command prompt to execute any java program we give :
    C : \.-- > java ClassName
    This ClassName I need in my application, I want to do some post processing on that.
    Actually see what I want :
    public class Base
    static Base object;
    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
    object=(Base)Class.forName("Derived Class Name").newInstance();
    void main()
    public class Derived extends Base
    void main()
    System.out.println("Hello World");
    I am trying to Run Derived Class, since there is no entry point found, default JVM invoke the Base class's entry point, there I want to load
    Derived Class, but I am not getting any identity of derived class in Base class.
    I found one temporary solution to this problem :
    C: \ -- >java Derived Derived
    & in Base class, I have loaded class
    object=Class.forName(args[0]).newInstance();
    But I dont want to write the same thing twise just to know the Class name which is given along with java.exe.
    Is there any way to get the ClassName supplied with java.exe
    I have tried a lot, still I am trying !!!
    If any one knows the answer, help me.
    Regards.

  • Getting class name without it's package.

    Hi.
    How can I get only class name of an object?
    obj.getClass().getName() returns the full package hierarchy.
    Any simple ideas?

    Is there any method that do it automatically?What do you mean automatically? You mean a single method so that you don't have to write any code? That's a very small amount of code to write, and you can put it inside a method you create yourself.
    Or you could use regex, though some may find that to be overkill. String classOnly = theClass.getName().replaceAll(".*\\.(.*)", "$1");

    Hi,
    In a java class, is it possible to get its class name and the class method?
    Please advise.
    Thank you.

    I mean whether there's any built-in command that will
    return the class name instead of code it ourself, for

    Possible?
    this.getClass().getName();

    I don't know if I understand your question, but you cannot find the class name because it is in run time just an object. You can, however, check if it is an instanceof.
    if (genericType instanceof MyType) {
         doMyThing();
    }

  • Listing classes name in known package

    Hello!
    Can you tell me how to get classes name in a package.
    String package = "bla.bla.bla";
    And the output is like this
    Classes in bla.bla.bla :
    - ClassA
    - ClassB
    - ClassCThank's

    That misses any classes in a jar file.forgot about archived.. yeah..that would fail.
    you can list files in a directory as shown inreply #1, but not in a java package,
    since its contents can be distributed what do you mean? when you compile..the compiler
    create a dicrectory structor of the package. the
    java.class is a file..so you can list it. (I'm not
    sure by what you mean distributed)..if you mean
    RMI..then yeah..i missed that point too.not only that
    it's common to have many source directories :
    /Project
        /src
            /api
               /com/mycompany/myprogram
            /test
               /com/mycompany/myprogram
            /impl
               /com/mycompany/myprogramis something I do a lot
    >
    I guess you have to use reflection for that..even
    with reflection..i don't think you can get all the
    class name for RMI application (or those
    server-client) application.

  • How can i get all java class names from a package using reflection?

    hi,
    can i get all classes name from a package using reflection or any other way?
    If possible plz give the code with example.

    You can't, because the package doesn't have to be on the local machine. It could be ANYWHERE.
    For example, via a URLClassLoader (ie from the internet) I could load a class called:
    com.paperstack.NobodyExpectsTheSpanishInquisitionI haven't written it yet. But I might tomorrow. How are you going to determine if that class is in the package?
    This subject comes up a lot. If you want to do something a bit like what you're asking for (but not quite) there are plenty of threads on the subject. Use google and/or the forum search facility to find them.
    But the answer to your question, as you asked it, is "you can't do that".

  • Why do I get a class conflict between the Prepare SQL.vi and the Get Column Name.vi with the SQL Toolkit compatibility vis from the Database Connectivity Toolkit?

    I have done extensive programming with the SQL Toolkit with LabVIEW versions through 6.1. My customer now wants to upgrade to Windows 7, so I am trying to upgrade to LabVIEW 2009 (my latest purchased version) using the Database Connectivity Toolkit, and the SQL Toolkit Compatibility vis. Everything seemed to be going okay with the higher level SQL operations, but I ran into trouble with the Get Column Name.vi.
    The pictures below show the problem. The original SQL Toolkit connected the Prepare SQL.vi with the Get Column Name.vi with a cluster of two references, one for connection, and one for sql. The new compatibility vis have a class conflict in the wire because the Prepare SQL.vi contains a cluster with connection, and command references, but the Get Column Name.vi expects a cluster with connection and recordset references.
    How do I resolve this conflict?
    Thank You.
    Dan

    I've never worked with the old version of the toolkit, so I don't know how it did things, but looking inside the SQL prep VI, it only generates a command, and the the column name VI wants a recordset. I'm not super familiar with all the internals of ADO, but my understanding is that is standard - you only have the columns after you execute the command and get the recordset back. What you can apparently do here is insert the Execute Prepared SQL VI in the middle and that will return what you need.
    I'm not sure why it worked before. Maybe the execute was hidden inside the prep VI or maybe you can get the column names out of the command object before execution. In general, I would recommend considering switching to the newer VIs.

  • How to programmatically get the source for a class provided the class name?

    Hello,
    As a quick background, I am providing some tools to potential users of an in-house framework. One is the ability to generate quick prototypes from our existing demo applications. Assume a user downloads our jars and uses them in their project (we are using Eclipse, but that detail should not greatly affect my question). Included in the jars is a demos package that contains ready-to-run classes that serve to exhibit certain functionality. Since many users may just need quick extensions of these demos, I am trying to provide a way for them to be able to create a new project that starts with a copy of the demo class.
    So, the user is provided a list of the existing demos (each one uses a single class). When the user makes their selection, with the knowledge of our framework, I can translate that into what demo class they need (returned as a string of format package.subpack1.subpackn.DemoClassName). What I now want to do is to use that complete class name to get the source (look up the file) for the corresponding class, and copy it into to a new file in their project (the copying into the project can be done easily in Eclipse, so what I need help with is the bolded part). Is there a simple way to get the source given a class path for a class as described above? You may assume the source files are included in the jars for the framework.
    Thanks in advance.

    If there's a file named "package.subpack1.subpackn.DemoClassName.java" in a "demos" directory in the jar, then yes. You'd just use
    InputStream code = getResourceAsStream("/demos.package.subpack1.subpackn.DemoClassName.java");Or if those dots in the name actually separate directory names, i.e. you have a "package" directory under "demos" and a "subpack1" director under that and so on, then:
    InputStream code = getResourceAsStream("/demos/package/subpack1/subpackn/DemoClassName.java");

    How can i get the names of the controls inside a class private data?
    I am using Actor Framework and trying to create a method tha will be executed when launch the actor. This method need a list o all the control names inside the class data to search for the initial value inside a configuration file (config.ini), the key on the configuration file will be the name of the control.
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    You are already making the overriding method just because you have to write to the Bundle By Name.  And then how are you going to handle all of the data types the keys could be.  You are making things more difficult than it should be for really very little benefit.
