Problems Managing User Access Rights for Web Gallery

Has anyone else had issues changing the user access rights for a web gallery? It seems like the access is everyone or no one. Are the user rights handled per event in the gallery? I had issues adding events to the user's view/download rights in the publish settings.
Also, can these settings only be set when an event is first published? Attempting to change the user access rights after the event is published seems to require a re-upload of the images.
Any thoughts?

Problem solved.
I had to put the following lines in the specified "0000_any_80.my.website.conf" file:
        <Directory "/Library/WebServer/subdomain.domain">
Options All +MultiViews -ExecCGI -Indexes -Includes
                AllowOverride None
                # For Password protection
                AuthType Digest
                AuthName "Password Protection"
                require valid-user
                <IfModule mod_dav.c>
                        DAV Off
                </IfModule>
        </Directory>

  • How to retrieve access rights for an user/usergroup ?

    Hello everybody.
I'm working on BO XI 3.1. And I have to develop with the .NET SDK package an application that retrieves the following data :
    - the access rights to WEBI application and properties for each user/user group.
    - the access rights to each folder and properties for each user/user group.
    etc
The idea is to retrieve for an user/usergroup the access right on each property of WEBI application and softwares. and same thing for folders....
I'm looking at the .NET SDK package contents but it takes me a lot of time, even too compared to my deadlines. So I'm looking for help.
Does anyone have an idea about class of objects, properties and methods to use ?
Thank you in advance for your help.

    Thanks for these samples.
The list of user and usergroups is very interesting to audit CMC but my need is different : for example, I'm looking a method to retrieve the level access (full control, no access, ...) of an usergoup on each webi's property. The reason ? To know for example which usergroups have fullcontrol access on the right name "edit SQL" ?
I think it's hard to retrieve but very interesting to audit CMC...

  • Specifying access rights for page tabs

    Hello
I have trouble with specifying access rights for tabs that are inside another tab.
I have a group named "Customers" and a group for each of our customer companies. The company-groups are all members of the Customers group.
Then i created a tab called "Customers" which i specified access rights to the Customers group.
Under the customers tab, i created one tab for each customer and i've specified access rights to each tab.
I want to accomplish that customers who log into the portal only are able to see theyr own tab, but this doesn't seem to work properly.
Have anyone had this problem before?
    Regards
    Per-Jarle Sfther

    Per-Jarle,
Are you sure that the users are not part of a group that is included in the group you gave access to on the tab?

  • How to access a .Mac Web Gallery

What is the syntax you enter in AppleTV for accessing a .Mac Web Gallery? Part of the Ad says "free content from the Internet on your widescreen TV. Not to mention your photos (and your friends’ photos) from Flickr or .Mac Web Galleries."
Watch your .Mac Web Gallery photos. How? My AppleTV did not come with a manual or a note stating a web address to go to for more information. Please help. Thanks

I was doing that, but nothing was showing up. Then I thought after I posted the message in the forum, about security. I have folders (along with other people) that require a password to get in. I tested this theory out by placing some sample pictures in the main area and I see them. When others invite me to see secured pictures in their folder, why can I only see them when I'm on my computer and not on the AppleTV. I don't want to download them to take up space on my computer to see them on the TV. Is there a way to see secured pictures or is this another shortfall of AppleTV?

  • Drilldown based on user access rights

    Hi
I have a bar chart which displays monthly sales for Region A, Region B.
I would like to know if it is possible to restrict drilldown based on user access rights (I'll get this from database and i know if the user has access or not when clicking, but i don't know how to disable the drill down or stop drilling down when user has no access rights)
    Thanks

    Hello Yesvee,
Database security does not exist in CR Designer, only in Trusted Authentication but it doesn't support Row security. You'll have to use one of our other Products to get this feature/functionality.
Call Sales for more info on which Products would be best suited for your needs and pricing.

  • User access right / permission function

how can i write a function user access right?
How can i save the url in database, and then different user enter the ui have different ui/function display.

The only solutions and they could get messy would be to create alternate rollups with the different combinations you want the users to see and filter on that. There might be a way to do a similar thing with an attribute dimension, but both approches would be rather messy. There is no "Create a summary on the fly" type of processing which is what you want.

  • A workaround for Aperture users to use .Mac Web Gallery

As a user who recently switched to Aperture - I was hugely disappointed seeing some amazing new photo-related features in iLife '08 not available for Aperture users. Let alone the cash for purchasing software suites, I can't convince myself switching back to iPhoto for a single feature. So I googled and searched around...
Some pre-requisite for the workaround: You must have iLife '08, Aperture and .Mac installed.
    _*Solution 1*_
Create an album in Aperture that contains the images you want to upload to your .Mac Web Gallery. In iPhoto '08, create an empty library, then File > Show Aperture Library, choose the album and import images from there.
The downside of this is the images are your Versions in preview quality.
    _*Solution 2*_
Export Versions from Aperture and import the images to iPhoto and perform the upload.
    _*Solution 3*_
For users building websites in iWeb, I have seen threads that one could use the media browser in iLife suite to perform similar result but it also limits to the preview quality of Aperture.
I would have to say even the workaround is hugely disappointed but I can't see any other solutions at the moment. I couldn't recall my last ocassion on having such disappointment for Apple's software development.

Apple really needs to rev. Aperture so it sends photos directly to the new .Mac Web Galleries.
    Everyone needs to go here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/aperture.html
And voice there opinion there to get this added to Aperture.
    Thanks, Scott K.

  • Optimum Size for Web Gallery

In trying to set up galleries that have quick view time, I'm trying to follow iPhoto advise and use a Medium sized photo for Web Galleries. iPhoto help sez:+When you send, print, or publish a photo from your iPhoto library, you need to choose the right size+. For me that would be Medium size.
However I can find no place to determine size. How can I choose the size I want to use?

    smidi:
I believe that statement pertains to situation where you can control the size of the file to be used. However, in publishing a Web Gallery iPhoto determines the size. If you don't select the option to have viewers download the photos then the image size is 800 x 600 pixels. If you selected the download option then the full sized file is uploaded for viewer to download.
For emailing, if you use Mail, you will get a window which lets you select the size of image/file to send. For printing you want to use the largest size you can so you get the max resolution available.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Changing default jpeg compression for Web Gallery files

I have created several web galleries from both Raw and Jpeg files with Iphoto '08 that suffer from serious jpeg compression artifacts. I haven't found any way to change the compression amount to reduce the artifacts. Is there actually a way?

    papasteveo:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. There is no way in iPhoto for the user to manage the jpg compression of the web gallery photos. If the option for visitors to download the photos is selected the copy that's uploaded is compressed approximately equivalent to an Photoshop quality setting of 8 or 9 out of 12. The pixel dimensions are the same as the original unless the max dimension in the original exceeds 3054. The the file is resized to 3054 max dimension.
If the gallery is just for viewing the image is resized to 800 x 600 with additional compression.
You could manually replace the file with one that you've prepared but it would be very tedious as each file has it's own folder and the file name is changed to web.jpg (viewing only) or large.jpg (download). You would have to rename each file to be uploaded to the new name and make sure it's placed in the correct folder.

  • Problem with users accessing sharepoint 2013 site collection

    I have an unbeliveable problem..
I have a sp site with several site collections..
I have around 15 users.. Everybody have access to the root site. Two users do not have access to site collections even though they are in EXACTLY same permission groups like other users who can access those site collections!
I tried to delete them from all user groups in SP, then delete their user profiles in Central Administration, and delete them from Active Directory. After that I recreated their profiles in Active directory, readded them to Central Administration, and again
added them to coresponding groups in SharePoint site collections. They again CAN NOT ACCESS site collections.
What should I do.. This is incredible that 5 users with the same user privileges can access site collections, and 2 can not, even though they are all created in the same way..
    Regards,
    Srdjan

  • Are there addresses for Web Gallery photos?

So, I assume that when you make a web gallery, the photos are being uploaded to your iDisk space. Is there a direct address to link to so they can be HTML'd?

    Chris:
Open one of the web galleries in iPhoto and look at the top of the window. There will be a url link you can either copy or use to visit the online gallery. If you click on the Tell a Friend button an email will be created with the link in it also.

  • Specific order for web gallery photos

I am publishing a web gallery (newbie) and the photos need to be in a certain order-its a wedding album. How do I get them in the correct order. I put them in order in iphoto, but when the gallery publishes, they are random. Thanks

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Do you put them in order after creating the gallery in iPhoto and before publishing? All of my online galleries have the same order that are in the iPhoto galleries. You can change the order after publishing and then hit the publish button to reorganize the online gallery.

  • Adjust Photo Size For Web Gallery

I'm uploading a new Web Gallery as I type this....(although nothing appears to be happening at the moment...I decided against my first couple of efforts and deleted those galleries).
I don't see a way to adjust the size of the photos uploaded to the Web Gallery. As each of the photos I'm uploading is approximately 3MB in size, I was hoping there might be an option to compress each of the photos prior to uploading. Am I missing it?
In iPhoto Help, there's a topic for "Choosing the Appropriate Size For Your Photo". Apparently, this only refers to emailed photos, though?
    Any thoughts on this?

    Mike:
Have you checked on the size of the files uploaded to the web gallery? They are resized to 800 x 600 pixels. If you select the option to have the full sized image downloaded then the max pixel dimension is 3054 pixels in any direction. If the are larger than than the get resized. Additionally the file is compressed. My 2.7 MB file was downsized to 750 KB.
