Getting Exception while using JAVA code in XI
Hi,
We are using a JAVA code for encryption decryption, We have imported jce1_2_2.jar, local_policy.jar, sunjce_provider.jar and US_export_policy.jar .
Code is giving exception ": java.lang.SecurityException: The provider SunJCE may not be signed by a trusted party"
Same code is running fine in outside XI means in Eclipse(JAVA EDITOR).
Let me know how to resolve this issue.
Thanks
Hi vin,
>> Same code is running fine in outside XI means in Eclipse(JAVA EDITOR).
I also faced the same issue.
The reason may be with XIs limitations. The keys used to encrypt and decrypt should have key length supported by XI. Also, the algorithm used must be supported by XI.
Try Storing the keys inside TrustedCAs in Key storage.
Hope this helps.

How to get MAC address using java code
hi friends
please write me, How can I get MAC Address of local machine using java code.I don't want to use JNI.
Please reply me. Its urgent for me
Thanks in advance
USYou have several ways under *nix
ifconfig -a | grep HWwill output something like
eth0 Lien encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:11:FF:74:FF:B4combined with Runtime.getRuntime().exec("")and Process.getInputStream()you should be able to read it easilly.
Under Windows (and Linux of course) try jpcap (http://sourceforge.net/projects/jpcap)
You can also use jnative as a generic tool (http://sourceforge.net/projects/jnative)

Exception while using Java Comm and Java Web Start together
Hello Java Experts!
Here's the problem that's been bothering me. The application i'm developing uses Java Comm API to listen to Serial Ports. The application works absolutely fine when it is run locally.
Now, I need to deploy this remotely using java web start. All resources(dependent jar files) are present on the server and are referenced properly in the JNLP file. All jar files are signed properly.
Still, it throws the following exception.
java.lang.NullPointerException: name can't be null
at java.io.FilePermission.init(Unknown Source)
at java.io.FilePermission.<init>(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.SecurityManager.checkDelete(Unknown Source)
at javax.comm.CommPortIdentifier.getPortIdentifiers(CommPortIdentifier.java:70)
The exact line of code where it apparently seems to error out is...
Enumeration portList = CommPortIdentifier.getPortIdentifiers();
Are there any security issues involved here? Can a application deployed through java web start access serial ports on the system?
Any pointers as to what the problem might be would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!I have the IBM Communications API. I've
been told that it works with Java Web Start but I
have not tried it. IBM has changed it's download site
so.... I can't point you to it. But I have it(55k zip'ed)
and can send it to you if you post your E-Mail address
of where you would like it sent.

PS If it does work with Web Start please post the
news here. I will be watching. -
Printing issues while using java code
good day everyone,
Im stuck on a silly issue that has to do with printing using java and i can't wrap my head around the why its behaving like this.
What i do is i hide a few pages on initialize to basically endup with only 1 page showing out of 6.
On that solo page i have a print button i would like to use.
Under the click command i want to show all my pages temporarlly and then print and hide them again.
Right nowi have this code to do the un-hide and activate the print function:
form1.Header1.presence="visible";
form1.Page1.presence="visible";
form1.Page2.presence="visible";
form1.Page3.presence="visible";
form1.Page4.presence="visible";
form1.Page5.presence="visible";
xfa.host.print(1,"1","5",0,0,0,0,0);
So when i press the button, the pages show up but nothing happens, i dont see the print dialog. But if i press on the print button another time, it will work.
Its almost liike i would need to do this for it to work properlly:
xfa.host.print(1,"1","5",0,0,0,0,0);
xfa.host.print(1,"1","5",0,0,0,0,0);
But im guessing that this is just something im doing wrong, but i cant see why it justs doesnt work on the first try.
Anyone can point to what is happening or what needs fixin? I just dont see it
Thank you very much again for all the help.Maybe this will help:

I am having a similar problem that results in this stack trace. The funny thing is that it occurs after a session.logout/login and re-read of the object I'm trying to update. The other thing is that if I remove objects from the transaction it just happens somewhere else - on a different object/descriptor. I am attempting to upgrade from 9.03 runtime to the 10.0.3.1 builder/runtime. I am connecting to a Sybase 12.5 db.
Any ideas on this one?
Thanks,
Bret

How can i get system variable using java
Hi,
I just want to know how can i get system variables using java code.
for example i want to get the the date for today or i want to get the number of processes that's running.
Thanks alotHi,
I just want to know how can i get system variables
using java code.
for example i want to get the the date for today or i
want to get the number of processes that's running.
Thanks alotSome generic "system variables" are available though Java, usually through the System class.
Date today = new Date();
is instantiated with the current date and time.
Other system values, like environment values, should be passed to java through the command line (-D option) by setting system properties.
Finally, platform specific values like the number of processes running will have to be written in platform specific code and executed by JNI (java native interface).
Java is platform or system agnostic. Common system values, like time, are implemented. Hopefully you won't need platform specific values. -
Spanish characters getting garbled while executing command using Java code
Hi,
I try to execute a command using java code. output of the command contains spanish characters. Few of these characters getting garbled after the command execution.
Runtime r = Runtime.getRuntime();
Process p = null;
String pgm="ipconfig /all";
try
p = r.exec(pgm);
BufferedReader br=new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader
(p.getInputStream()));
while((val = br.readLine()) != null){ System.out.println(val);
catch (Exception e)
return (null);
I tried to run the code using -Duser.language=es -Duser.region=ES -Dfile.encoding=Cp850, but this did nt help. I could see the outputs properly in command prompt,
If i redirect the output to a text file , it is getting garbled,
Please let me know to solve this issue.884543 wrote:

How to get the values from struct data type using java code..?

How to get the data from struct data type using java code.

kumarHi Rajeev,
To retrieve a FilterContainer you will need to traverse the report structure:
ReportStructure boReportStructure = boDocumentInstance.getStructure();
ReportContainer boReportContainer = (ReportContainer) boReportStructure.getReportElement(0);
FilterContainer boFilterContainer = null;
if (boReportContainer.hasFilter()) {
boFilterContainer = boReportContainer.getFilter();
} else {
boFilterContainer = boReportContainer.createFilter(LogicalOperator.AND);
Calling boDocumentInstance.getStructure() will retrieve the entire structure for the document.
Calling boReportStructure.getReportElement(0) will retrieve the structure for the first report of the document.
Hope this helps.

How can we get requester's user id using java code
Hi,
How can we get requester's user id using java code?
eg: If i had logged in as xelsysadm and request a resource for user uid101 on the userid field it should display uid101 and not xelsysadm.
also,
I have a resoure "A" which on revoking should also revoke resources B and C. How can it be done. Resource A, B, and C are 3 different resource objects.
==Thanks,
dokiOk, so there is a way, but it's not available during submission. You can use the findRequests api. From the result set, get the "Requests.Consolidated Data Value" value. In this information, you will get an xml formatted data. It provides the list of users on the request on the left side after submission. After the request is completed, this value is available. Upon completion, you could get the request information, get this value, and parse the information for user ids.
In the same adapter, use the following API:
formIntf.setObjectFormData(objInstanceKey, formHash)
The formHash is a hashtable containing the field name on your object form, and the values you wish to populate it with. You could create a textarea box on your object form and populate the userids for who the request is for.
However, this makes absolutely 0 sense. When you get a request, the list of userids are listed right there on the request.

How to change InputField background color using Java Code
Hi,
In my application use will enter some set of Cost Centers in a table and submits request.
In return i will get a list of invalid cost centers which i need to display in a table with input field
In that table all cost centers will displayed, but invalid cost centers should be highlighted or background color should some other color. like red or yellow.
Is it possible using java code to change a input field color.
Please help me.
ThanksHi,
declare a error message in message pool and declare a method say "checkCostCenters " and in this method, u can check whether it is a valid cost center .. if it is invalid cost center , then throw the erro message using the below code :
wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportContextAttributeMessage(
inputfieldattibutePointer, IMessageProgramPlanComp.ur error message,
new Object[] );
for getting pointer and label use the below code:
IWDAttributePointer inputfieldPointer = URNODEELEMENTElement
.getAttributePointer(URNODEELEMENT.ATTRIBUTENAME);
String inputfieldLabel = wdContext.nodeURVALUENODE.getNodeInfo()
.getAttribute(URNODELEMENT.ATTRIBUTE).getSimpleType()
.getFieldLabel();
hope it helps..

Creating a folder in current workspace using java code
Hi Experts,
I need to create a folder and some file in the workspace of NWDS user. Can someone please suggest how can i find out the workspace of user using JAVA code.
IWorkspaceRoot is not working in NWDS.
Regards
PranavHi Pranav,
Tell me if you want to create this folder at run time or in NWDS while developing application.
If you want to create it at the time of development just change your perspective to Java perspective and from there you can see the entire project structure and from there you can create desired files / folders.
