Getting Flash CS3/CS4 AIR1.0 app to work in Flash CS5

This is a question in regards to Flash CS5 but since it's specific to AIR I'm posting here.
I have a Flash CS3 AIR 1.0 project and I can't get it to compile in Flash CS5. If I recall I installed some extension for Flash CS3 to be able to create AIR apps. It was an Adobe extension.
The app involves two SWFs. The first is the main app, Main.fla, the second is a window panel template, Panel.fla. The Main app would compile and include the Panel.swf which it would instantiate and load into new windows to create a paneled app.
I was able to open Main.fla and publish in CS5 with no problems. The profile even says AIR 1.0 in the properties panel, although when I click edit it shows AIR 2.0 selected in the dropdown, and there is no option for another version of AIR -- which version of AIR is actually being created? Not important as long as it work...
The Panel.fla on the other hand I cannot get to compile. The profile still says AIR 1.0 in properties but the dropdown in the publish settings says Flash Player 9, and when I compile it breaks on any AIR references, for instance:
1119: Access of possibly undefined property nativeWindow through a reference with static type flash.display:Stage.
I have this classpath:
$(AppConfig)/ActionScript 3.0 AIR 1.0/Classes
But apparently that is no longer good. I've looked in all the Flash CS5 directories I could find and there is no such dir.
The issue here is that Panel.fla is NOT an AIR app, it's a SWF which runs in an AIR app. How should get this working?

I changed the profile of both to AIR2.0, and it still shows AIR1.0 in the properties panel. I'm able to publish the Panel.swf now but it also generates an unwanted panel-app.xml -- unwanted because panel is not an app, it's merely a SWF to run inside the main app.
Is there a better way? And why does it still say AIR1.0 in the properties panel?

Getting Flash CS5 to publish an AIR 1.5 file

*** For the record, I just want to say that I think it is totally absurd that Adobe shipped Flash CS5 with the ability to ONLY publish AIR 2.0 apps...which hasn't been publicly released yet. I've been working on an AIR app for several weeks and needed to upgrade from Flash CS3 to CS5 to take advantage of the new Text Layout Framework. Now, for the workaround I've discovered. To get Flash CS5 to publish an AIR 1.5 file, I first published an AIR 2.0 app. Then I went into the app descriptor xml file and changed the version from 2.0 to 1.5 <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/1.5"> Then I deleted the xml nodes in that same file that are specific to AIR 2.0 (<visible>, <fullScreen>, <autoOrients>, <aspectRatio>, <renderMode>). I locked the app descriptor file so it couldn't be changed by the next publish. Then I deleted the previously created .air file and the .swf file. I then republished the app from CS5 and it was able to install under the publically available version of AIR (1.5.3.9130).

How to get old (CS3, CS4...) versions when using CC ?

I'm a teacher and developper with After Effects, and I'm a creative cloud subscriber (for teachers and students), and I have this problem : schools or students/trainees often use older versions of After Effects than me (I have CS6 and CC installed), and I really need to have CS4 or CS5 installed, in order to give students examples and template projects they can use on their versions.
Is there any way to get a serial number to use those "oldies" ? (I currently use a 30-day trail of CS4, 29 days remaining... Please help me before it expires!)
Besides, I develop some scripts widely used (Duik which brings IK's and animation tools to AFX) and sometimes users ask me about problems they have on older versions, but I can't test and make sure those scripts work on those versions...
(sorry for my English, I don't know if there are many mistakes )

Simple answer: No. older versions are not part of CC for technical and all sorts of otehr reasons.

How can I get Flash cs5 to open a separate window

Hi all,
I have a project that has buttons, which I would like to open external SWF within a separate window. I would open them up within the project file, but the dimensions are to big (1024x768) and I don't know how to scale the SWF for the area of (400x300 something).

Anyone have any suggestions?? I've run iTunes for years now, this last update "killed" the ablity for it to run automatically on my Win7 machine. I've unloaded EVERTYTHING apple on my computer 3x times now, reloaded, as admin - even paid for cleaners to make sure. Run all the Microsoft patches, updates, everthing I could find...NOTHING seems to be working.

My Mac is 15 months old and all of a sudden it has started resetting the time and date then I get a message saying not all apps will work because of the pre Jan date any help as to why ? Causing problems with wireless router.

Seems the time isn't being saved to your computer correctly, it may be a corrupt file that isn't saving the time anymore.
You can move the
com.apple.systempreferences.plist
file out of your Users/Library/Preferences folder to the desktop and reboot.
then go to your System Preferences > Date and Time and set a time server close to your location (or in your time zone)
(trash the file on the desktop if no ill issues occur later on)
or you can follow/bookmark these support docs to reset your PRAM and SMC (and for future reference)

I don't remember exactly where OS X is keeping it time settings now, but I think one of those choices should help resolve your issue and won't hurt anything giving them a shot. Perhaps someone else could refresh my memory.

Import photoshop CS3 layers into Flash CS5?

Does anyone know if you can import photoshop layers from CS3 into Flash CS5? I am looking to get Flash CS5 for my Win 7 but am worried I won't be able to use it with all my CS3 photoshop work. Has anyone had experience with this and can tell me one way or the other if it does or doesn't work. I know CS5 has LOTS of backward compatibility problems.

Yes, save the photoshop file as a .ps file and then import it in Flash. You will get pretty much the same import options window that you saw in Flash CS3.

Downloaded app wont work

AFTER PAYING for an app i get an error message stating the app wont work on the ipod touch because it needs a newer version of ipod software.
I downloaded the slingbox app for my ipod, of which there is no newer software available.
Says it needs 3rd gen or later model. How can i tell what "generation" my ipod is? The ipod info screen only says sw ver = 4.2.1

If the generation of the device is something important to know then why wouldn't they list that detail where its easy to find?

You can't just yet. Yesterday (April 12) was supposed to be the official announcement and an "exclusive preview" into CS5. You can get more information from this thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/2722459#2722459 i guess. But i don't think there is a concrete date when they will release it for trial and purchase, probably a month from now. If it's available by then, you can get it from their website www.adobe.com.

CS2/CS3/CS4: Cannot get file path in Unicode of the current document on Windows

In my automation plugin I need to have full absolute path of the opened document with any possible non-English letters. Using SDK examples Listener and Getter that come with Photoshop SDK the full absolute path which I obtain is in the default ANSI code page (CP_ACP) and I can convert it to Unicode using MultiByteToWideChar() API. However this works well when I have corresponding to document name language set in the "Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Advanced -> Select a language to match the language version of the non-Unicode programs you want to use." For example if name of the document has Russian letters and chosen language in "Regional and Language Options" is also Russian the described conversion works well. If I change "Regional and Language Options" to English for example, full path returned by Photoshop SDK API (AliasToFullPath in PIUFile.cpp) for the document with Russian letters will contain "????????.psd" symbols.
So I need to have an ability to get absolute file path in Unicode. Is it possible in Photoshop CS2/CS3/CS4 for Windows? I have searched forum and SDK but could not find info on it.
Is it possible to have native HANDLE of the opened file to get file info using Windows API?
Please advice.

Clearing the cache didn't work, but removing the Youtube cookie and restarting firefox did. I can now switch to Hi-def again

Hi,
Can someone tell me where Flash gets its fonts from. Does it use just the system fonts or can it see the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts folder?

Problem is not in your windows 7 OS, since i was working CS4 and now i m working with CS5 in windows 7 only. And i feel more comfort with this new OS. May be you hardware configuration might not be support to new technology like windows 7 and Flash CS5. Beca it is need high hardward configuration

Android app in Flash CS5 getting menu to pop up using actionscript

Hi,
anyone out there know how to get a menu to pop up in Flash CS5 when coding for an android app.
Basically I have a nice, simple app that when you press the menu button on your phone I want a movie clip to pop up at the bottom of the screen that then acts as a menu for the app. When you press the menu button again the movie clip disappears. There is some code in the sample files in flash cs5 but it won't seem to work for me.
Has anyone gotten this to work successfully for them.

This code is supposed to make the menu popup and when clicked you exit the app.
I want someting similar to hppen without the movie clip making the app exit. My movie clip has other little buttons that make different information appear as you click on each one.
Any advice is much appreciated. have app ready to go apart from this one little error.

Ok this problem gets even weirder!! The code above kind of works. What I mean by that is in the exact same app the menu might pop up once every so often. Seriously, some times it works after I run the app for about 30 seconds and some times it doesn't work at all.
Has anyone heard of this before? It's getting very frustrating.
