Getting # instead of new line - in smartform

Hello,
I am displaying a PDF in popup window, in which I am getting '#' instead of enter (Keyboard enter i.e. new line).
Details -
I have some text boxes, in which I can put the comments where user can press the enter on keyboard (new line character). When I look that comment on browser, I can see the enter pressed i.e. text is displayed on next line.
But when I open a smartform, it shows me '#' instead on new line. FYI - If I look in infotype value, there also it shows '#', but I am able to get new line in browser (it doesn't show '#' in browser i.e. it works fine in browser).
Only issue is with PDF or smartform.

I understood your problem.
I faced similar issue in smartforms while printing Longtext text with #(enter). I found a solution for the same.
I got Text with # into ET_LONGTEXT Internal table. I have done below code
data : ET_LONGTEXT     TYPE TABLE OF     BBP_PDS_LONGTEXT,
          ES_LONGTEXT     TYPE     BBP_PDS_LONGTEXT,
          ET_TDLINE     TYPE TABLE OF     TDLINE,
          ET_TDLINEF     TYPE TABLE OF     TDLINE.
LOOP AT ET_LONGTEXT INTO ES_LONGTEXT.
SPLIT ES_LONGTEXT-TDLINE AT cl_abap_char_utilities=>newline INTO TABLE ET_TDLINE .
APPEND LINES OF ET_TDLINE TO ET_TDLINEF .
ENDLOOP.
You can try above logic. Good Luck.

After every line in this text the user push the enter button, in the table filed which will be display in the form, the text should be display as it is written below.

Long commands in bash terminal overwrites my prompt, instead of new line

When I'm in Terminal and I type a long command or something, instead of the Terminal continuing the command onto the next line, it starts overwriting my username@host prompt. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Does it happen in all user accounts? You may have altered your bash shell profiles in some way. To check this, run the following commands, and then post the results of each here (the results should open in a TextEdit window):
cat ~/.bash_profile | open -fe
cat ~/.bashrc | open -fe
cat /etc/profile | open -fe

New Line in Text File

Hi -
Im using the FileWriter and BufferedWriter classes to output text into a .txt file.
The text I am writing is taken from another text file using the FileReader and BufferedReader classes.
The text is reading from the file, and will also output to the new text file, however it won't insert a new line, it only inserts an 'unprintable' character i.e. an empty square
My code is below - its only starting out so its farily simple at the moment, just reading from one file and outputting to another.
Is there a way i can get the actual new line/carriage return inserted instead of the empty square. (im running Windows XP)

I assume by using the
System.getProperty("line.separator") that this will
work independent of platform.Yes. And using bw.println() instead of bw.print() will already do it for you. So all you need to change in your program are two letters.

New line character in cipher text?

I am encrypting a text in Triple DES/CBC mode/Nopadding mode. the length of text is 6500 bytes. in the cipher text that i get, it has new-line character(\n) & carriage return characters. As a result of this i m unable to read the cipher text from a C program(as it is not fully reading the cipher text). is there any methodology to overcome this problem. is there any way to avoid the new-line & carriage return characters in cipher text.
Also is there any criteria like, the plaintext can be only max of this much bytes?

The result of your encryption is bytes and not characters so your C program should process it as bytes and not as characters then bytes '\r' and '\n' will not be interpretted.
It would be interresting to see your C code.

I got the solution:
We can do like this:
1. Get all details using details, BAPI_CONTRACT_GETDETAIL.
2. After getting results, append new line item. Then use your BAPI.
Check this posting program.. where this bapi is used, use the same coding technique.

I would be buying this from a verizon store. I went tonight to buy the iphone 4s and I was told I couldn't because last May I decided to pay the difference for a new phone instead of getting the same phone they had replaced many times and I kept having issues with having poor reception quality. Insert new line type at ctrl break in Smartforms

Hi Guys
I am developing a timesheet in smartforms.
In the Smartform my table contains data for two weeks, but I need to bifurcate it on a weekly basis. So when the form starts I print e.g Weekly record:- 01.01.08 to 01.07.08
Now I want that as soon as the control reaches 01.08.08 A new line type should get inserted saying
              Weekly record:- 01.08.08 to 01.14.08
Please guide me how this can be done.

Create your internal table in such a way that it contains the data as per your printing requirement.
E.g.
01.01.08   01.07.08    XXX.XX   123.45
01.08.08   01.14.08    XXX.XX   123.45
Now, if your smartform just create a table node under the MAIN window and prints this values.

A new line is showing up on messages I receive. It's seems to be a row of links, including a URL to (maybe) the msg source. How do I get rid of it?

On my incoming messages, under my toolbars & above the msg header, is a new line. It sort-of looks like another toolbar, but different. It reads from left to right and each word is highlighted white:
Back Forward Refresh URL: ___________________ Go
Each of these words except for "URL:" are in boxes as if they are links but they don't work like links.
What is this and how do I get it off my incoming messages?

Click the Help menu (Alt+H) and select ''Troubleshooting Information'' from the menu.
Now, a new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.

How do you get a new line in a description of an iCal event?

I need to be able to create multiple lines in a description of an iCal event. In the past, I used control return to get a new line. In Mountain Lion, this does not show up as a new line, once the event has been saved. It merges all of the text onto one line and creates new lines as the space dictates. How can I force new lines in the event description between the words that I have chosen?

I'm interested too.
Please help, I had own method to management iCal's event – new line, of 10.7 worked great – now is a little terrible for me :/

how to get 2nd line in smartforms main window using template. i have also defined loop .

if possible can you try with the TABLES..
Put one TABLE in your MAIN window
create table lines as per your requirment...consider all lines like 6 for header, 1 for main, 1 for total
Now, you will find three section under the tables: header, main, footer...
in header section, create a table line, assign one of the proper lines from the line types.. repeat for your all lines.
in main section, you can access your data form the loop.
the footer secion will be called, just after the main will be finished.

What do you mean by 'making a line '?
Is it an empty line?
If it is just a blank line, while creating the text below the logo just give one line space and then type in your text.

Pressing Enter inserts new line break instead of "executing" command

I have noticed a rather strange behavior on my new TPT2. This occurs ONLY when I am using the Windows 8 touch keyboard in the "Metro" environment.
Whenever I press the Enter key on said keyboard (for example when sending an instant message on Skype), the keyboard inserts a new line in the text box instead of acting like a "normal" Enter key and execute the default command (send the message in this example).
I have connected an external keyboard and this problem does not show up. Everything works as expected. I also brought up the regular on-screen keyboard (launched from the Ease of Access menu) and it works the way it should. The problem is only with the Metro touch keyboard.
It seems that for some reason, the Metro touch keyboard interprets the Enter key pressing as "insert a line break".
Does anyone know how to fix this? It is extremely annoying.

Just checked that, you are right, Photoshop doesn't recognize Shift-Enter as a line break and treat it as a Return which is a problem with paragraph formatting. Obviously a bug.
Good news workaround is that it recognizes the line break character if you paste it from another program like Microsoft Word. If you don't have a program that allows you to copy just that character and use paste instead of Shift-Return, you have to type your entire text in some other program and copy paste to Photoshop.
