Getting ORA-24801: error when reading a CLOB data using BufferReader

I am getting the "ORA-24801: illegal parameter value in OCI lob function", when reading a CLOB using a BufferedReader, i am using "oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver" for creating a connection pool and using Oracle 9.2.0.7 with Weblogic 8.1 SP 5. My code looks like this,
oracle.sql.CLOB c_lob = null;
c_lob = ( oracle.sql.CLOB)stmt.getClob(7);
BufferedReader in1 = new BufferedReader(c_lob.getCharacterStream());
char buffer[] = new char[1];
int i;
while((i = in1.read(buffer)) != -1)
The error is coming at "in1.read(buffer)".

Your buffer size should be the clob size.
char[] buffer = new char[c_lob.getBufferSize()];
Also, set the value for i as -1.

Can I fix this via an sql statement or what?

Hi, i think that the problem is around the rollback segments.The solution is bring other rollback segments ONLINE state, if not exist others rollbackup,then you need create the other rollback segments and bring online state.

We are getting the following error in XI. It started on Jan 22 and resolved on Jan 23 automatically. Nothing has been changed and we don't able to understand how problem started and how it resolved:

The problem occurs during data load from R/3. It was not occuring before. When I go to check the PSA contents I get a runtime error - GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED.
Error analysis
    You attempted to access an unassigned field symbol
    (data segment 32821).
This error may occur if
    - You address a typed field symbol before it has been set with
      ASSIGN
    - You address a field symbol that pointed to the line of an
      internal table that was deleted
    - You address a field symbol that was previously reset using
      UNASSIGN or that pointed to a local field that no
      longer exists
    - You address a global function interface, although the
      respective function module is not active - that is, is
      not in the list of active calls. The list of active calls
      can be taken from this short dump.

Error when reading the DDIC-data for table

We upgraded from DMIS 2011 SP04 to SP07. We are in development system.
To test initial load, we stopped replication for an existing table and then started replication for the same table.
Mass transfer id connects ECC system to BW on HANA system.
Replication errored with the following message:
Error when reading the ddic-data for table MARD (RFC destination DWACLNT010).

I should have mentioned that I know that the table exists in the database.
The main reason I'm trying to do this is because I'm trying to get the data from the DB2 DB into my Oracle DB. I have been trying the EXP utility, which gives me a different error code:

I believe the issue is with a new pseudocolumn reference introduced in 10gR2. Kindly refer to the Oracle Database SQL Language Reference on [OBJECT_VALUE Pseudocolumns.|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28286/pseudocolumns006.htm]
A quick workaround for those using Oracle Database 9iR2 or 10gR1 would be to edit the "Installation Script" (under "Supporting Objects"). Edit the "OEHR_CATEGORIES_TAB" DDL to the following:

CREATE TABLE oehr_categories_tab OF oehr_category_typ \\ ( category_id PRIMARY KEY) \\ NESTED TABLE TREAT \\ (SYS_NC_ROWINFO$ AS oehr_leaf_category_typ).product_ref_list \\ STORE AS oehr_prod_ref_list_ntab \\ NESTED TABLE TREAT \\ (SYS_NC_ROWINFO$ AS oehr_composite_category_typ).subcategory_ref_list \\ STORE AS oehr_subcat_ref_list_ntab;

The program fails at following line of code -

Web services are SSL.
The WSDL is at https location and needs username/password for access. The username/password to access WSDL are set using UTL_DBWS.SET_PROPERTY
To access the SSL site, I have imported the CA in Oracle Wallet, JVM home and JDK home.
Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong here. I am not able to even establish connection to web service host.
This is very frustrating - Oracle has no examples on how to access a SSL Web Service (that needs authentication) from Database.
This is effecting our project deadlines ......... any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I presume your Web Service needs HTTP (BASIC?) Authentication.
All this needs is setting the following 2 properties, which as can be seen, you are setting....
UTL_DBWS.set_property(l_call, 'USERNAME', '<username>');
UTL_DBWS.set_property(l_call, 'PASSWORD', '<pwd>');
This should work as long as your DBWS Callout Utility was downloaded from OTN after June 2008, and it's version is atleast 10.1.3.1.

Getting a #7 error when dynamically loading a VI using a DLL

Problem invoking a VI dynamically in LabVIEW 7.0.
Example files are attached (simply extract the files
in one directory).
I have a VI, Invoker.vi, that dynamically invokes
another one, Basic VI.vi.
If I use Invoker.vi natively, no problem, everything
works.
Now, I build Invoker.vi as a shared library
(Invoker.dll), and call it from an executable
(CallingLabVIEW.exe, requires .Net Framework 1.1,
you can create your own by simply calling the
long Invoker(LVBoolean *status) method from the DLL).
I get an error:
Open VI Reference in Invoker.vi->Invoker.vi.ProxyCaller
Anyone knows what I may be doing wrong?
I've tried putting the full path name of Basic VI.vi,
same result

Thanks for the help, but... ...I had forgotten to mention that I *had* tried adding the VI in the build process. It didn't solve the issue, and in any case having to build with all the dynamic VIs would not be practical for what I'm trying to achieve.
Another note on this matter: I have an application (an EXE) built that calls dynamic VIs without having them included in the build, and that works. I believe adding dynamic VIs to the build is only useful if the dynamic VIs are not going to be deployed with the application otherwise. But, if they are available on the target host at the path specified when you run the application, it should work even if you didn't include them in the build.

HELP getting a communication error when trying to video chat using ichat

I'm a new mac user so, please bear with me here. I am trying to video chat with an AIM user using ichat AV. I get the invite, accept it and then it is unable to completely connect. I am connected to the internet via airport using a cable modem (TWC) and a netgear rangemax wireless router.
I've changed the ichat port to 443 because I was getting a connection failure to AIM and am now able to text chat but still unable to video. I've also changed the quicktime setting to 1.5mbps.
Not sure what to do next. Please help.

Yes, the router is set up. Not sure what the model number is so, I've pulled a couple of numbers off the back hoping one of them might be the right number, one I know is the ip address for accessing the router, I'm including that just in case all else fails and you recognize it.

This just in though. It's working somewhat now. I was able to connect to my finace about 4 times who is using the latest version of AIM on a PC. During this time I received one error message which is pasted below. However, each time we connected he could see me but, I was unable to see him, he received a message saying that his camera was in use by another program. We are in the same house on the same router. Not sure if the two correlate but thought you might need all the info.
Hope you can help. But it's probably the dumb PC.

ORA -12569 error when querying dba_change_notification_regs table

ORA-03115 error when calling a Stored Procedure

Hi All,
I'm in the process of porting a Pro/C app from NT to Linux. I've installed 8.1.5 on our Linux box and patched it up to 8.1.5.02.
It all kind of works ok, except that I'm sometimes getting ORA-03115 errors when the app calls a stored procedure. The call in question looks like this:

The stored procedure basically uses the resp_id value to select rows from a table;
in each row there is a VARCHAR2(4000) column which it copies into the hostarray resprows.
There may be anything from 1 to numrows returned from the SP.
Initially, the resprows rows were defined to be size [4000]. Unfortunately, this caused ORA-02005 errors - I then changed the size to [3998], which seemed to fix the 02005's (although I'm unclear as to the reasons why).
Now I'm getting the 03115 errors when calling the SP. The oracle manual is not very helpful on what this error means.
This all works chipper on NT.
Any ideas?
