Getting "Ordinal binding and Named binding cannot be combined" error

Hello,
I am getting following exception while calling stored produre:
*"Ordinal binding and Named binding cannot be combined"*
I am calling stored procedure with JDBC with 1 input parameter and 1 output parameters as mentioned below:
CallableStatement collableStat = connection.prepareCall("{ call sp_clnt_intermed_validation(?,?) };
// Registering In parameters
collableStat.setString("p_user_name", "SampleUser");
// Registering Out parameters
for(String paramKey : paramKeysSet) {
collableStat.registerOutParameter("p_success_flag", Types.VARCHAR);
// execute stored procedure
collableStat.execute();
Please guide.
Regards,
Akshay.

Why is the registerOutParameter in a loop?
You don't state your DB version but as of 10g there is no support for named parameters for a PL/SQL function because there is no 'name' of the returned parameter. So use ordinal indexes for both parameters.
Instead of
collableStat.setString("p_user_name", "SampleUser");
collableStat.registerOutParameter("p_success_flag", Types.VARCHAR);use
collableStat.setString(1, "SampleUser");
collableStat.registerOutParameter(2, Types.VARCHAR);Next time post this in the JDBC forum.

    What is late binding and early binding?

    What is late binding and early binding?Suppose you have two objects iA and sB, where iA is an Integer object and sB is a String object. If you were to assign them to one another, this would result in a compile time error. This is because the compiler checks if the objects 'bind' with each other. This is early binding.
    Take another case where you have two custom objects (A & B) implementing the same interface. you pass an one of the objects (say A) to a method which accepts the implemented interface as a parameter and try to work with it as if it were to be the other (ie B) the compiler passes this since syntactically this is correct. But when it comes to runtime, the runtime env will get to know that this is illegal and throws an exception. This is a typical case of late binding.

  • Difference between Property binding, Aggregation Binding and Element binding?

    what is difference between Property binding, Aggregation Binding and Element binding?

    HI Rajesh,
    Firstly ,
    A binding path can either be absolute (starting with a slash), or relative (starting with a name token)
    1. Element Binding:
    Here we specify the refrenced object.
    eg if you bind company object to a layout, like
    var oMatrixLayout = new sap.ui.commons.layout.MatrixLayout();
    oMatrixLayout.bindElement("/company");
    then all the children of this layout can refer to the context of this object. like suppose company has name attribute, then we can directly pass it to the child like:
    oMatrixLayout.createRow(
    new sap.ui.commons.Label({text: "Name:"}),
    new sap.ui.commons.TextField({value: "{name}"})
    All the relative bindings within the control and all of its children are resolved relatively
    2. Property binding is similar to the context mapping in WebdnyPro. We bind it to a property of the UI. It is automatically updated when its vlaue is changed.
    3. Aggregation binding (basically a list) defines a template(a model which others can copy) and this template is cloned for each entry of the list. When we make an entry in the list, a clone of the template is created.When the clone is created, the context is set to the entry in the list. Thus all the binding to the template are resolved relative to the entry. This is maily used for large data sets where we will only clone the current entry and not the complete list.

    In Fusion Developer's Guide for Oracle Application Development Framework 11g Release 1 (11.1.1) at chapter 5.2 says that environmnet uses :Bind_SysEffectiveDate bind variable for passing effective date for Date Effective Business Components. But I see that in my case :SysEffectiveDateBindVar bind variabe is used for get method and both variables are used in update method.
    Why environment trying to bind :Bind_SysEffectiveDate if only :SysEffectiveDateBindVar is present in the query ? How can I solve this problem ?
    I'm using
    Oracle JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.3.0
    WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.3.0
    Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.
    Edited by: user2975420 on 01.10.2010 6:26

    As I understood ApplicationModule.EFF_DT_PROPERTY_STR is used to pass the value of SysEffectiveDate. This means that this value will bind to variable that present in query filter (:Bind_SysEffectiveDate).
    If this property is not set, the current date value binds to :Bind_SysEffectiveDate variable.
    But the reason of my problem is another.
    When I create date effective entity and date effective view object for this entity the query of VO is next (I see this query in query editor in JDeveloper):
    SELECT EmployeeHistory.HISTORY_ID,
    EmployeeHistory.POSITION,
    EmployeeHistory.WAGE,
    EmployeeHistory.EMPL_ID,
    EmployeeHistory.START_DATE,
    EmployeeHistory.END_DATE
    FROM EMPLOYEE_HISTORY EmployeeHistory
    WHERE (:Bind_SysEffectiveDate BETWEEN EmployeeHistory.START_DATE AND EmployeeHistory.END_DATE)
    But when I invoke getEmployeeHistoryView1 method of view object service interface, the query which I see in log is next:
    SELECT EmployeeHistory.HISTORY_ID,
    EmployeeHistory.POSITION,
    EmployeeHistory.WAGE,
    EmployeeHistory.EMPL_ID,
    EmployeeHistory.START_DATE,
    EmployeeHistory.END_DATE
    FROM EMPLOYEE_HISTORY EmployeeHistory
    WHERE (EmployeeHistory.HISTORY_ID = :fbkKy__0)
    AND (:SysEffectiveDateBindVar BETWEEN EmployeeHistory.START_DATE AND EmployeeHistory.END_DATE)
    Bind variable for SysEffectiveDate has *:SysEffectiveDateBindVar* name now instead of *:Bind_SysEffectiveDate*. But method invokes successfully.
    When I invoke updateEmployeeHistoryView1 environmet already tryes to bind *:Bind_SysEffectiveDate* variable that doesn't present in query. So I have exception:
    java.sql.SQLException: Attempt to set a parameter name that does not occur in the SQL: Bind_SysEffectiveDate
    I'm not understanding why environment binds :Bind_SysEffectiveDate parameter which doesn't present in query.

    Have you tried to put the Main-Class under a package (e.g. move LaunchSimulator to org.jyothi.sunke.LaunchSimulator or something)? I'm not sure but it's possible that Main-Class can't be located in the "root package", because the JAR launcher can't address it.
    Always put your stuff in a package, otherwise it can't be addressed by other packaged classes.

  • Anyone help me ...I am writing to get Date, Month and Year...I got errors

    Could some body help me:
    I am try to get Date, Month and Year
    I got stuck, Anyone help me this:
    public class DateMonth
    public static void main(String[] args)
    toDay = new toDay("February 21, 2002");
    dayofWeek = today.getDay();
    System.out.println("Current month is " + toDay.getMonth());
    System.out.println("Current day is " + getDate());
    System.out.println("Current year is " + toDay.getYear());
    toDay.setDate(toDay.getDate()+60)
    System.out.println("Sixty days from now is ");
    System.out.println(toDay);
    }

    Try something like this:
    import java.util.*;
    public class DateMonth {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              // Note: 0 = January
              Calendar calendar = new GregorianCalendar();
              System.out.println("YEAR: " + calendar.get(Calendar.YEAR));
              System.out.println("MONTH: " + calendar.get(Calendar.MONTH));
              System.out.println("WEEK_OF_YEAR: " + calendar.get(Calendar.WEEK_OF_YEAR));
              System.out.println("WEEK_OF_MONTH: " + calendar.get(Calendar.WEEK_OF_MONTH));
              System.out.println("DATE: " + calendar.get(Calendar.DATE));
              System.out.println("DAY_OF_MONTH: " + calendar.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_MONTH));
              System.out.println("DAY_OF_YEAR: " + calendar.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_YEAR));
              System.out.println("DAY_OF_WEEK: " + calendar.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_WEEK));
              // 60 days from now
              calendar.add(calendar.DATE, 60);
              System.out.println("\nSixty days from now");
              System.out.println("MONTH: " + calendar.get(Calendar.MONTH));
              System.out.println("DATE: " + calendar.get(Calendar.DATE));
              System.out.println("YEAR: " + calendar.get(Calendar.YEAR));
    }Remember that January is 0!
    Take a look at the GregorianCalendar class:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/api/java/util/GregorianCalendar.html
    Hope this helps!

  • Getting sequence filename and sequence name in process model error handler

    We are using the sequential process model and would like to log sequence step error information to a file.  We have an Error Handler callback in SequentialModel.seq and that is where we will write to the error file.  In the Error Handler callback, I can get the error container info for the step where the error occurs and the name of the that step thru the Error Handler Step parameter.  I would also like to record the sequence file and the sequence where the error occurred, but I have not been able to find those in the sequence context.  I know they are available because the TestStand RunTime Error dialog box displays them.  How can I access the name of the sequence file and the name of the sequence where the error occurred?
    Thanks,
    Hans

    Hey hans,
    Use the API.  Since you already have the Step object reference coming in as a parameter you can just use a few ActiveX steps to get the Sequence File and Sequence from which the error was thrown.
    Step.Sequence
    Sequence.Name (gets the name of the sequence)
    Sequence.SequenceFile
    SequenceFile.Path (gets the path of the sequence file)
    So basically just 4 activex steps.  I hope this helps.

  • Execute PL/SQL block with named binds from within java code?

    Hi guys,
    Is there any good way to execute my PL/SQL code, for example
    BEGIN         :x := :x+1; END;
    from my Java code? I need nothing complicated, just static code block with named binds.
    I have tried the Oracle exetnded JDBC (setXXXbyName methods):
      public static void main(String[] args){     try {     Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleConnection");     Connection conn=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:xe","user","password"); String SQL="begin :x:=:x+1; end;"; OracleCallableStatement stmt; stmt=(OracleCallableStatement)conn.prepareCall(SQL); stmt.setIntAtName("x", 5); stmt.registerOutParameter("x", Types.INTEGER); stmt.execute(); System.out.println(stmt.getInt("x"));     } catch (Exception x) { x.printStackTrace();    }   }
    And get the java.sql.SQLException: operation not allowed: Ordinal binding and Named binding cannot be combined!
    Then i've tried SQLJ appoach:
      public static void main(String[] args){     try {     Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleConnection");     Connection conn=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:xe","user","password");       Oracle.connect(conn);       System.out.println("Connected!");           int x=3;       #sql { BEGIN         :x := :x+1;       END; };           System.out.println("x=" + x);     } catch (Exception x) { x.printStackTrace();    }   }
    And x=3 had retuned... Although 4 expected.
    Then, I've set parameter sqlj.bind-by-identifier=true
    And result is another exception! java.sql.SQLException: Missing IN or OUT parameter at index:: 2
    Can you please mark my mistakes/point to correct solution?
    Thanks in advance,
    Alexey

    Found another solution, this time working at least...

  • Cannot insert object error using Power View in Excel 2013

    I created a short table in Excel 2013, positioned the cursor in the table and clicked Inset/Power View Report. I get a status window saying Excel is opening a Power View sheet but then I get a Power View error: Cannot Insert Object. I am able to insert new
    tabs in the workbook. When I try the insert again, I just get the Power View error. I looked at other threads with similar issues and did the following:
    Made the Formula bar visible - no change
    Tried to repair Office 2013 but that option is not available when I right click on the program in the Control Panel
    De-installed Silverlight - Tried to insert Power View Report. A Power View tab was created with the Power View picture and Power View ribbon. Got the message to install Silverlight and Reload. Installed Silverlight hit Reload and the Power View tab didn't
    change. Hit Power View Report and got the Cannot Insert Object error message again.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
    Did you use PowerView first time? I notice you had found a similar thread and tested the solutions.
    PowerView is an add-in in Excel2013, We must make sure that you check some option in the trust center and Add-in center.
    http://blogs.office.com/b/microsoft-excel/archive/2012/10/04/intro-to-power-view-for-excel-2013.aspx
    Location1: Excel Options>Add-in>Solver Add-in enable
    Location2: Excel Options> Trust Center> Add-in
    Then you said that you couldn’t repair the Excel 2013, please refer to the following link:

    At last, we may test it in clean boot, please refer to the following link:

    Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
    *Download the full Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop<br>https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
    If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
    *Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
    Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

  • "User cannot be found '' error after migration of site from sp2010 to sp2013

    Hi,
    There is a Blogs site, which has been migrated from Sp2010 to Sp2013, and gives ''User cannot be found'' error above the top ribbon:
    Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: User cannot be found
    Please advise
    sk.Rakhishma

    This is common when a user has left a company and is still listed as an owner of the document.  When the document is moved to the new environment, it has no record of the old user.
    Did you migrate using a migration tool or database attach?  Migration tools usually have an option to handle orphaned users allowing you to map them back to the system account.

  • Get Binding and Iterator from UIComponent

    I have a pageTemplate with a reusable menu which contains: navigation buttons (previous, next, ... records), commit and rollback operations, and create/Delete Record.
    My pages could contain components which have more than one IteratorBinding, for example a couple of tables master/detail.
    My first idea was this:
    I have to add for each BindingIterator, all record actions with the same pattern name: <operationName><IteratorName>, then I could execute the correct operation in the actionListener for each button with a simple search on the pageTemplateBean.
        public void onFirstClicked(ActionEvent actionEvent) {
            BindingContext bctx = BindingContext.getCurrent();
            DCBindingContainer bindings = (DCBindingContainer)bctx.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
            String iteratorName = (String) JSFUtils.resolveExpression("#{viewScope.focusComponentIteratorName}");
            String operationName = "First"+iteratorName;
            OperationBinding oper = (OperationBinding)bindings.get(operationName);
            oper.execute();
    For this, I have to Know which is the last UIComponent which had the focus and get its Binding Iterator.
    I have added a ClientListener and ServerListener programmatically for get the UIComponent which has the focus in each moment. (pageLoad with f:event JSF2).
    JavaScript code in PageTemplate:
    <af:resource type="javascript">
          function clientFocusMethodCall(event) {
              component = event.getSource();
              AdfCustomEvent.queue(component, "focusComponentEvent", null, true);
              event.cancel();
        </af:resource>
    Create ClientListener and ServerListener programmatically:
        private void addFocusListenerComponent(UIComponent c) {
            ClientListenerSet cls = new ClientListenerSet();
            cls.addListener("focus","clientFocusMethodCall");
            cls.addCustomServerListener("focusComponentEvent", JSFUtils.getClientMethodExpression("#{pageFragmentTemplateBean.handleFocusComponentRequest}"));
            //----------------------- INPUT --------------------
            if (c instanceof RichInputText) {
                RichInputText it = (RichInputText)c;
                it.setClientComponent(true);
                it.setClientListeners(cls);
            } else if(c instanceof RichSelectOneChoice) {
                RichSelectOneChoice it = (RichSelectOneChoice)c;
                it.setClientComponent(true);
                it.setClientListeners(cls);
    After that, I have this Event, which is launched after every focus event.
    public void handleFocusComponentRequest(ClientEvent event){
            System.out.println("handleFocusComponentRequest "+event.getComponent().getClientId());
            System.out.println("---"+event.getParameters().get("payload"));
            UIComponent c = event.getComponent();
    The next step is get the AttributeBinding and IteratorBinding and save them in ViewScope variables, but I dont Know how get it.
    PS: Commit and Rollback operations are easier since the are common to the ApplicationModule.
    jdeveloper 12c, 12.1.2.0.0

    Hi Frank.
    I had found the second strategy but I didn't know how can update references at runtime.
    My application has a MDI Desktop, in that I could have few programs opened at same time.
    Each programa had a unique menu with the navigation and record operations buttons.
    Now I will explain my issue with and example:
    In a region, rendered a PageFragment where is showing a Master Detail tables. For this I'll have exposed a Previous Record operation for the Master and the Detail (and the others buttons too).
    When a inputText from Master take the focus, the "previous" button have to reference to the Previous Operatiron of Master Iterator. Same situation when focus is in a inputText of detail Iterator.
    Then the previous button have to dynamically change the operation reference after each focus action.
    I think I am really close to the resolution, but I dont Know how can I get the Iterator binding for each UIComponent rendered in the page.
    Thanks in advance.
