Getting SAP user Date format

Hi All,
I have a webdynpro java application which i am using in ISA B2B. I need to show a date format of the backend user. Is there any way where i can fetch the SAP backend user date format in webdynpro java application using API. Kindly suggest me an idea on this?

Hi Saravanan,
You need to fetch data through RFC function module in webdynpro. You need costom build functiona module for user information.

I think FM BAPI_USER_GET_DETAIL will do. Structure ADRESS contains everything.
If you like to display at screen - use BAPI_USER_DISPLAY.

How to get the system date format string?

Hello, everybody!
I want to create a MaskFormatter with a mask for dates. So, I could suply as the constructor parameter: "##/##/####'. However, what if the year comes first in the current system date format settings, or the month is in the second place or in the first?... So, I can't just suppose that the current locale format for dates is like the one above. So, my question is: is there a way to get the SYSTEM DATE FORMAT STRING in Java? Searching in google I saw that this was already asked in this forum:

but there was no effective answer. Does someone already know how to get this?

Hi, not sure, but
import java.text.*;
SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat();
System.out.println(sdf.toPattern());
will output something like dd/MM/yy HH:mm

How to get Default (System) Date Format Pattern?

How to get system default date format which is defined in Regional Setting of Control Panel.
We can get an instance of DateFromat using DateFormat.getDateInstance(DateFormat.SHORT) but problem is that there is no toPattern() exist in class DateFormat.
However toPattern() exist in class SimpleDateFormat but there is no costructor like SimpleDateFormat(DateFormat)
So please advise me, how can I get system short date format pattern?

I reterieve the system date format but not which is currently defined in regional setting of control panel but it returns the format which is installed by default when windows(os) is installed.

How to get a correct date format

Hi Experts,
I fetched a record from the table KALV. Here its showing the date format as DD.MM.YYYY. But in my internal table and my output its showing YYYYMMDD.
How to solve this?
Actually this report needs to show the output as per the user's format. Because may have different format. Accoriding to there format it should show the output.
How todo this?
Anyone guide this?

When I set my region (in the International system preferences) to be United States, it prints:
2008-08-14 20:20:31.117 Date Difference[17226:10b] string from date 2008-07-04 00:00:00 -0400: 7/4/08 for locale en_US
And when my region is United Kingdom, it prints:
2008-08-14 20:19:23.441 Date Difference[17199:10b] string from date 2008-04-07 00:00:00 -0400: 07/04/2008 for locale en_GB
It looks like the NSDateFormatter is insensitive to the change of regions. Notice that the raw printing of the date is properly switching with the region, though.
What do I have to do to get the NSDateFormatter to respect the region setting?

To extend SAP user date and to add months to the current date

Hi All,
I need to extent the user date in SAP based on one condition.
If the condition is true extend the date by 12 monthd if false 6 months from the current date.
Can i have the FM for user date extentions and FM for getting the date.

You can use this FM for exteding the date.
CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_USER_CHANGE'
    EXPORTING
      username   = us_username
      logondata = e_bapilogond
      logondatax = e_bapilogondx
    TABLES
      return     = i_return.
u need to pass date and correspoing flag also.
For extension of the date by months u can use this FM.
      CALL FUNCTION 'MONTH_PLUS_DETERMINE'
        EXPORTING
          months = 6 or 12 ( depending up on ur logic)
          olddate = sy-datum
        IMPORTING
          newdate = us_expdate.

In java I use the code:
WDClientUser.getcurrentUser().getSapUser();

I am not sure but in the thread you mention, the url of the app has to pass in the user id.
In the HandleDefault you just read the url parameter attached to this url.
What I need is to extract the SAP USD ID drectly from the portal login id.
I think there is such a class in ABAP

SAP BI DATE FORMAT

Hello Experts,
I have made a flat file extractor . Flat file is coming from Another third part database.
Date format in flat file is in form DD/MM/YYYY . but in BI we do not have date dormat DD/MM/YYYY.
My Question is how we can add this date format in BI.
I cannot change the flat file date format because this file comes daily and placed in AL11 automatically.
its also very difficult first downlaod file from AL11 change the datw format in another form then load the file.
dates Format in SAP BI are available.

Hi,
You use routine to update DATE required format
Data: w_day(2) type n,
w_month(2) type n,
w_year(4) type n.
Clear: w_day,w_month, w_year.
w_day = DATE+0(2).
w_month = DATE+2(2).
w_year = DATE+4(4).
and then CONCATENATE required format.
Examples
1 CONCATENATE w_month w_day w_year into REQ_DATE
2 CONCATENATE w_Year w_day w_month into REQ_DATE
Write this routine in transformation for DATE infoobject.

Check profile options ICX: Date format mask, set on the user site.
But I believe there's no MM/DD/YY, only MM/DD/YYYY

does anybody know where I can find the e-mail address of a sap user (The one which you can edit via SU01). I already took a look at all the usr* tables and of course adrc but this little bastard still hides in the dark

How to get the HTML data formatted display using the Rrt template

I have a table which has data with html tags in it.
eg as shown below.
sample text is as follows:
 
MY TEST HERE HAS SOME BOLD TEXT IN IT. THIS WHOLE LINE SHOULD BE BOLD and the rest of the text will not be bold.
 
now I want to be able to display this text with the proper format using BI publisher / rt template.
my report shows the tags as is instead of being formatted.
please let me know how i can fix this

i got a flat file in which date is in mm/dd/yyyy format.i converted the data using lsmw but this conversion is valid only if user has set his date profile as mm/dd/yyyy in his user profile setting->own data. now if user has some other setting then it will give error. so how to convert date and how to do mapping with same . please help.

ESS MySAPERP 2004 - Date format

Hi ,
We did install ESS in North America, and the date format without changing anything is MM/DD/YYY in the "Personal Data" or "Travel and Expense"
Installing Europe now , they need the date format to be DD.MM.YYY
We did try the change the SAP user data format , but that did not work . Also did
not find on the PORTAL user an option, to do that
Any idea, on how the change the date format ( by user ), will be welcome .
