Getting text object content and position via script / extra?

Hello everybody,
we have several Freehand files on OS X (maps) where I need to
get the text content and the coordinates of objects in a given
layer. I could not find a possibility how to achieve this via
Freehand's Applescript support. Am I missing something or is this
impossible with the standard scripting support?
I have found a website about an older Xtra (CARTO-INDEX) that
seems to something along those lines but it was written in the
Classic days of the Mac OS. Is there a possibility or maybe even
some sample code showing how this can be done with an Xtra? Is it
possible to call an Xtra function via AppleScript?
Illustrator seems to be no alternative here because although
it seems to provide better scripting support, I get conversion
errors with my Freehand documents and the object parameters do not
match.

Help to get text objects in ABAP

Hi guys!
I've created my first report program and need some help to get text objects into the report. The program combines the tables KNA1, LIKP, LIPS, VBAK, VBAP and VBKD to create a deliverylist which we import as excel info a shipping service. The issue at hand is that our website allows customers to change the ship-to party's address when creating an order. The adress are not updated to KNA1, but are comitted as a text on the ship-to on the delivery itself.
The text I need in the report is RV50A-TXTWE.
Can you help me get going on how to add this from the delivery?

Your problem is that its a structure. Structures are filled in a program and no longer exist after the program is closed. They are temporary data. It will have been moved to tables somewhere most likely. The next step is to debug / trace through the code to find out what was done with it.
What program were you using that created the structure?

How do I get text to align and look uniform? This shouldn't be as hard as I am making it!

Basically, I am trying to get the heading centered and the text aligned left....or at least aligned uniformly here. Unfortunately, for some reason I am unable to just mess with it in "design" as I usually do. The design page is blank and I can only make changes on the HTML side, which I know little about. OK - sorry that my comment didn't advance the thread.
The single largest determinant of a goofy layout is the use of invalid code. The first place to start debugging a layout is the W3 validator. Check the code that you posted earlier at this site -

When I do that, I get 47 errors and 1 warning. In addition to the many syntax errors (this page has a STRICT XHTML doctype!) of XHTML, which probably have no effect on layout, there are others that probably have a significant effect:

It makes no sense trying to troubleshoot layout problems with this many instances of broken code. That was really what Nancy's post was getting at.
Fix that code first and then we can work on the layout.

Can i do Expression to keyframes and smooth via script?

hi guys, who know AE scripts can translate expression to linear keyframes via script(now i use app.executeCommand(app.findMenuCommandId("Convert Expression to Keyframes")) ; command) but , for Comman work i must select every time property of layer(opacity, position, scale, etc) where i have expression.... but i need translate very many layers, i always click on property with expression and then do Convert Expression to Keyframes its to long.., can i do something like this

AE has "Smoother" panel, but as far as I know you can`t access it via scripting using app.executeCommand(app.findMenuCommandId("Smoother")) or something.

Object Size and Position values not being retained

Hi,
I'm trying to set the size and position of a picture object in a report. This logo, should appear on the top right corner of the report.
The margins of the report are Left - .79 in, Right - 0.79 in, Top - 0.79 in and Bottom - 0.39 in.
The size of the picture object should be 1.574 x 0.79 inches.
I have ensured that File -> Page Setup -> dimensions are in INCHES.
I right click the logo and select 'Size and Position'.
I set 'Y' (distance between top of object and top margin) = 0. This is to perfectly align the object with the top margin.
Now, i set the height of the object = 0.79 inches. Ok the dialog and close.
The strange thing happening is, when i re-open the size and position dialog, i see that the values i set are not being retained.
0.79 becomes 0.810
and
0 become -0.010.
What am i doing wrong here? How can i make sure the values i specify in the size and position dialog are retained.

Ensure that "Snap to Grid" is turned off.
Make your grid size larger (.5 inches for example)
What is occurring (I suspect) is that your objects are snapping to the grid - thus changing the position and possibly size due to the Snap to Grid being turned on.

Read header text from vf01 and print in script main window

Difference between a "flow content" and "positional content"?

Hey All,
I have a question. What is the difference between a "flow content" subform and a "positional content" subform? Just wondering what the difference is and how they differ in function. Any help would be greatly needed.

Tracking menus and buttons via scripting

I have a main menu page with a few submenus. I want to write a prescript to store a GPRM that tells me what submenu the user has chosen. So far I have...
the 2 buttons have values of 1024 and 2048 in the SPRM 8.
prescript for main menu-

Remote control Menu button script-
Jump Return to last button-menu1 if(GPRM 0=2)
Jump Return to last button-menu2 if(GPRM 0=0)
Scripts for returning to the highlighted button on the respective menu-

I usually avoid using pre-scripts in DVDSP because they can interfere with automatic button selection.
I would simply store the SRPM 8 values in your GPRM on the way to whatever track you are playing. I can't remember if switching VTSes will clear the value of SPRM8 - if not, you can just load SPRM 8 before jumping to the menu.
Use a stand-alone script with the jump commands specifying the buttons to highlight - be sure to include a simple jump command at the end just in case no valid value winds up in your GPRM.
SPRM8 can be stored independently of which menu you were on last, so you may also want to use a GPRM to track the menu.
So each time you jump to a menu, the target will acutally be a script that looks something like this:
1. Check "whichmenu" GPRM, if returning to the same menu last visited, skip over step 2 to button selection steps, starting with line 4.
1. Set "whichmenu" GPRM
3. Jump to menu (default button)
4. mov SPRM8 to GPRM for "whichbutton"
5. div "whichbutton"
6. jump to button 1 on menu if..
7. jump to button 2 if...
etc...
specifying a button on a menu acutally uses the pre-command available for that menu, and usually overrides any pre-script you assign in DVDSP. I don't know how this would act if the button selection is specified in a pre-script.

s:BitmapImage get image scaled size and position after it loaded and scaled

I am try to know the dimensions of the uploaded image into <s:BitmapImage without success.
The data coming back to me are isthe real image size and not size after it was scaled to fit the component size.
I can see that the image scaled down and fit to the maxWidth, but I can't get the actual/real scaled width from the BitmapIMage properties.
I tried:

I tried the ready event, But I still receive the same results.
I expect to get the new scaled width And height according to the maxHeight and MaxWidth.

Create OVA from windows and deploy via script

Hi Guys
I am looking for a way to deploy a windows VM from an ova package and have it contain things like the ip address et
However now i would like to use the import-vapp procedure in powercli 5.8 and just populate the information then in the vm
any ideas how to do this ? How can i create the ova in a way that the deployment will ask me for the ip address / vm name etc / username and password ?
Or is there a way to do this after the ova is deployed ?

Your OVA/OVF needs to be created where these values are configured through properties.
You can then use the Get-OvfConfiguration to find these properties and populate the hash table that is returned.
The hash table can be passed on the OvfConfiguration parameter on the Import-VApp cmdlet.

Dynamic text field, content and alpha

Hi.
I have a MovieClip (mcContainer) that contains a dynamic text
field (txt1), that was created directly on the Stage. Then I added
text to the text field with:
this.mcContainer.txt1.text = "my wonderful text";
When I change the mcContainer's alpha, the text's alpha
doesn't change. So, what am I doing wrong?

Look up TextField._alpha in the help files. The same rules
apply if you
manipulate the _alpha property of a MovieClip containing the
TextField.
