Ghost Recon Patch is gone!!

I know the solution to Ghost Recon Bundled with MSI video card involve downloading the MSI_GR_Fix.zip patch is given. However, the file which the link previously point to is missing and ubisoft is not really very helpful in providing me the link. Can anyone tell me a better place to download the file? Or can anyone send me a copy of the file? Pls PM me.

My Pleasure.
Ubisoft told me not to post it when they first gave it to me a yaer or two ago, but I see no reason why it shouldn't be available to those who need it, especially if they killed the link
Good thing I kept in my archive

Ok, now I've got game working,  however, after I tried to patch it with software fixes from the game website it now states:
    Cannot locate the CD-Rom:
Please insert your original Ghost Recon CD-ROM, select OK and restart application
What a bunch of $&*#!  This is bumming me out.  Anyone else had this issue.  Any help would be most appreciated.

This is what I sent to them via their web page submission if I remember correctly. I recieved a email back about 5 days later, with a link to the patch. If works fine, even with the latest nVidia video drivers.
    Good luck.

I received a copy of Ghost Recon with my MSI Gforce4Ti 4500 card and it installs initialy ok. When I install any of the UBI patches it immediately askes for the CD, which is ok, but the software does not recognize the CD. I've posted this on the MSI website and it appears that both MSI and Ubi have identified a problem with the "full version" included in the MSI product and that a patch is supposed to be available from your company. If you can provide a link to this patch, I would appreciate it.

  • Ghost Recon, can only play training mission

Recently purchased an MSI Gforce 4 TI4200 128 MB card, which came with gaming bundle. Loaded Ghost Recon, went through training mission fine. Clicked on campaigns, nothin listed. As i see it....i can only play training mission. Is there a fix for this? Anyone else had this problem? Does MSI exchange bad game CD's?

Try patching the game to V1.3 this may help

  • Ghost Recon not Working

I just bought the gForce4 TI4200 64mb 8x card that came with GR  in the bundle.  However, I cannot play it once installed.  After double-click, screen goes black, then goes back to the desktop.  I've installed the 2 latest patches from the GR site, but still no go.  Anyone else have this issue?

BoneDaddy13, exactly what version of VGA drivers are you using currently? If you are using MSI's own versions of drivere that came with the CD, I recommend you to download the latest version of the Detonator from nVidia 's website. I think they will update the Detonators very soon, but the latest one there is 41.09. I am using this version of the Detonator on my GeForce 3. Although it's different and older than your GeForce 4, but I am positive that this version will run Ghost Recon just fine, because I have that game :D .
Also, tell us more more about your power supply? What's its rating and the supply rails?

Did you try loading the latest nvidia drivers?  There are a couple of constraints apparently to get the bundled Ghost Recon to work:
    1) Need newer drivers than the MSI posted ones
    2) Cannot patch Ghost Recon with any of its own updates
I've sent a question into the MSI tech support (with no reply) on the patching issue - the Ghost Recon support folks say its a problem with the MSI bundled version of the game.
Personally i have the GF4 4200 8x card, and am running the nvidia 41.09 driver set and installed Ghost Recon without patching it and can play it.

  • Ghost recon, came with card, doesn't work for v1.3/1.4

I think it is sort of bad news when even the games they package with the retail box don't quite work.
Card: MSI geforce fx 5200 8x 128MB (running at 2x at the moment)
    memory: crucial 512MB 2700
    MB: ECS K7VTA3 v3.x
What else do you want to know?
This is upsetting as I've been having probs since I've got this card. I'm not convinced it's a hardware problem yet, but who knows. I went from 1.2, which ran fine, to v1.3 which did not run, to v1.4, which exhibited the same problem. The same access violation:
GHOSTRECON caused an Access Violation in module Unknown at 0167:17758926.

  • Ghost Recon Fast Game Speed

Anyone know about the problem with Ghost Recon with nforce boards? It send the clock speed through the roof and the game is unplayable as its so fast - you can run the length of the map in Anyone any experience of this problem? Would like to get back to playing GR now that I have upgraded MB but doesnt seem likely at the mo.

GO to the ghostrecon.com page and tech support forum.
Type in "game speed" into search window and look at JJ moderator comment. He says :

The problem is with the nForce chipset, which was not available when GR was being tested. We have notified nVidia about the problem, and a fix should be out shortly.
    Read the Ghost Recon FAQ!
I am not aware of a fix yet and am surprised no one here heard of this problem.
I checked the FAQ but the link is dead so thought ask you guys for advice.
I used Live Driver to d/l latest VGA driver (29.19 I think) but it still goes wappy. After shutting down GR it still runs at break neck speed like my computers on crack!

  • Where are the Music Files for Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2?

I wanted to get the soundtrack from the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 files using WinRar, and when I went into my Local Disk (c, and pressed program files. Then went to the folder entitled UbiSoft I pressed the GRAW2 folder. I then pressed the data folder, and there are three folders in there movies, settings, and sound. I pressed the sound folder thinking the music would be in there, but it was empty and so is the settings folder. So where did they store the music files for the game?

Its probably compressed into one big file and decompressed on the fly.

  • Ghost Vulnerability patching confusion

    Hi all,
We are currently running ACS v5.4 and were looking to go to patch 7 initially to combat shellshock.
Then GHOST came along so we waited for Cisco's advisory on the best version to go to.
This has now come out and the advisory is less than helpful!!! - https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCus68826
On one habd it seems to say 5.4 is good and on the other that all versions are vulnerable!
Can anybody clarify what patch/version we need to negate the vulnerability please :)
    Document is too confusing!!!
    Tim

    Hi Tim,
I have double checked and all 5.x versions are affected. The fixes are not available for 5.4 or 5.3 but 5.5 and 5.6. Kindly upgrade to get the fixes.
    Regards,

  • IPod name ghosted in list; songs gone; can I retrieve from Purchased list?

After I updated my 2GB nano's iTunes software (and wiped everything out) I figured it would be a piece of cake to restore the songs. WRONG!
Not only is my iPod's name ghosted in the folder list but when I try to import or export songs from my hard drive file I receive a "nothing to xxport" message. The ONLY place I can see my songs is in the Purchased area of the Music Store.
    Resetting the iPod didn't help.
Is there any way I can "reinstall" my purchased songs? Or at least get the nano to "see" my iPod's name in the folder list again?
    Many thanks.
    Dell   Windows XP

It is probably not wise to leave your e-mail and phone number on a public forum.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
    You purchase one download only.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases

  • RemoteApp Ghosts in RDWeb - Server 2012 R2

Hi all!  Anyone else raring to go on an RDS 2012 R2 deployment?  I am currently configuring a new RDS 2012 R2 farm.  Roles are separated like:
    -Session host
    -Connection broker
    -Web access
    -Gateway
Suddenly, RDWeb began populating what appeared to be duplicate RemoteApps.  One of each pair was the RemoteApp configured in the collection, and the other is one of my troublesome "ghosts".  I've gone so far as to uninstall every role
on every server in the farm, and upon reinstalling, the ghost RemoteApp objects are still there.  In fact, when I ran through the initial config again following the uninstall, the RemoteApp "ghosts" actually still appeared on the RDWeb site
even before I configured a session collection again on the CB.  Any ideas as to what might cause this?  I have a feeling I could rebuild the CB and get positive results, but I'm a little more concerned with this behavior in terms of rolling out the
farm to our organization.  Should this happen in the future, I am going to need to know why and how to fix it.
Does anyone know the top-down mechanism by which RDWeb populates RemoteApps, so that we can try to determine from where on earth the CB (or the WA) server is pulling these ghosts?  I should mention that I am familiar with the web.config file, in which
you can add FQDN strings for legacy (08R2) SH's.  No such config is in place, but having messed with that early-on in my Server 2012 (not R2) test bed, I can say that the appearance of those "ghost" RemoteApps, and their failure to disappear
even when the CB reports no collections, feels in appearance and behavior like the result of having configured legacy SH's.
    Any comments/thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Aha!  Spot on answer, TP []!  Two entities in that location were collections that I had removed via the GUI.  They were still reflected in the the list, though, causing RDWeb to populate the "ghost" RemoteApps that were no longer configured
in any collections visible in Server Manager on the CB.  Interestingly, when I added new collections, a new RemoteApp icon with corresponding title (test") showed up on RDWeb, not applications published beneath the collection.  But all weird behavior
is now resolved.  Thanks for your help!

  • Issues with a GT70-2PC Dominator

    Morning everyone.
I am an italian customer who has recently bought an MSI GT70-2PC Dominator. I am kinda new to the mobile gaming thing, so please apologize me for whatever you judge unappropriate.
As I stated in the topic subject above, I'm having some performance issues on this laptop while I'm gaming.. I'm talking about lag and throttling. The game I've been testing is Ghost recon Phantoms (online FPS), but it's not very high-resource demanding, compared to last gen titles.. so I shouldn't have problems running it!
I have updated all the common drivers expect for a couple of them i'm not really sure about updating.. basically when I went to the msi download page for my laptop, there is one tab which displays 'firmware' - and contains not only firmwares, but also a vga bios.
    I have not updated:
    BIOS
    VBIOS
    Firmware
    My questions are:
N.A) Is updating these drivers gonna improve my overall laptop performance?
    1) Which bios should i update? 50y or 70y? I don't use raid, i'm asking just to be sure
    2) How can i update the VBIOS? I couldn't find a tutorial for it, can you explain it to me?
    3) How can i update the firmware? And which one of the twos (1513 and 2513) should i install? Again, can't find a tutorial for this.
I have Win 8.1 as OS.
Hope to solve my issues as soon as possible so I can start enjoying my new laptop! Thanks in advance guys.

I'll start with my normal speech....
How do you know it was throttling? You don't give any temperature information or anything else.....
What color was your power button when you were gaming? If it was white....well, you were using the Intel iGPU and not the NVidia, which would explain why you were seeing lagging and what you thought was 'throttling'.
I saw this recently myself when I ran Brutal Legend for the first time....it was still using the Intel iGPU. As soon as I setup the NVidia driver to switch for the game, suddenly everything worked AWESOMELY, and it was great.
Give a bit more information (specifically temperature, and color of the power button. Use MSI Afterburner if you need to) and we'll see what the next steps should be.

  • Thinkpad Edge E440 Random Lags, Stuttering, Latency Problem.

Dear All, I bought Thinkpad Edge E440 almost two weeks ago. The problem is it randomly lags and stutter without reason. For example I was writing documents on Microsoft Word, plays music on foobar2000 and doing some light browsing (only few tabs) but randomly the music lags for 1-2 seconds. It doesn't skip, it lags or stutter (sorry I don't know the right term). Also sometime it took awhile to open a new tab on firefox web browser while usually it took instantly.
Another example is I play two online games, World of Tanks (WoT in short, a tank simulation game) and Ghost Recon Phantoms (a shooting game). When I play both game, the gameplay went smooth but randomly it lags or stutter like 1 second on more, then it went smooth again and then stutter again. The game doesn't became slow (which is called FPS drop if I am not wrong), the display just stop moving and mouse/keyboard become unresponsive during the lag/stutter period. On the other hand I also played WoT on my Pentium 4 PC and it went smooth without any lags, though of course the settings is inferior to my E440 laptop (Ghost Recon Phantoms can't be played on my Pentium 4 so I won't compare it).
Also sometimes the audio sounds 'spiky'.
As I searched online, people said that this is called/related to Latency problem and I should use LatencyMon to check it. After using LatencyMon I found several 'culprits' which causes big latency such as NDIS.sys, ACPI.sys, ATAPORT.sys, storport.sys, etc. I also tried to disable cpu throttling, power management settings and such but the problem doesn't go away.
I am sure that there is something wrong with my hardware because if its caused by settings such as cpu throttling, power management (which I think is software-related) then won't this happen to everybody? I mean, I asked a fellow E440 user and he said that his laptop is fine and my problems doesn't occur on him.
I have phoned Lenovo Customer Service. I was using Windows 7 Ultimate. At first they told me to do clean reinstall and install the drivers in the order the CS give me. I did clean reinstall 4 times to try different driver and program installation sequence to see if I might find a way to fix my problem, but I found no solution (I tried Lenovo CS driver install order on the last clean reinstall). I even tried running LatencyMon after clean reinstall before installing any drivers or updates but the LatencyMon still reports big, 'unhealthy' latency.
Lenovo CS then told me to do hardware scan on Lenovo Solution Center. There are warning on the Nvidia GT740M stress test but the CS told me that the results are good. His last solution is that I should go to a Lenovo Service Center to check for the problem there.
I moved to Windows 8.1 to see if the problem will be solved but too bad it's not. I have ran hardware scan for 5 times, there are two times(or 3 times I forgot) that there is warning on Harddisk SMART short self-test, 2 times warning on Nvidia GT740M stress test, one time scan finished with no warning. Even so, the end result for all the tests is 'Passed'.
I think the problem lies within my harddisk (or something related to data transfer) since when I browse my local drive in windows explorer sometimes it took a long time for the icons to load but sometime it just loads instantly. And I am not sure what that Nvidia stress test warning has to do with.
Also I only use the stock 4GB Ram. Could this related to the problem? Though when I look at Windows 8.1 Task Manager the memory usage rarely goes above 60%.
Last but not least. I plug a wireless mouse on my laptop which I use mostly for playing games, but in the end I switches between mouse-touchpad-mouse and so on during working too. Sometime my touchpad suddenly went unresponsive for few seconds but my mouse is still usable during that moment. Then after I move my wireless mouse, my touchpad become responsive again. Any idea why this is happening? I think this is probably because touchpad driver not perfectly compatible with Windows 8.1 as I don't recall having this trackpad issue on WIndows 7.
Can somebody help me? Does anyone else ever had the same problem as I do?
I am sorry for the really long explanation. Your response will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    -Tahta

Hi All, sorry for being a while for a long time.
First of all, I should say that I am not sure if my trackpad/pointing device problem is related to the lag/stutter/latency problem so I should have made two different thread instead. Sorry if anyone got confused with this.
@rallygion, the first OS I used on this laptop was Windows 7 64bit. If I remember correctly I don't experience the trackpad/pointing device problem back then, maybe I was just forgotten tho. I am using Windows 8.1 starting sometime before I made this thread. Now the problem has gone worse, sometime the touchpad & red dot in the keyboard won't work for a whole day so I must use external mouse.
At first I thought its compability problem with Windows 8.1 but now I think the hardware has problem too. However, the keyboard is fully functional.
@waqs, thanks for your suggestion! Unfortunately it doesn't solve the lag/stutter/latency problem.
@ghasan, our problem is quite similar except I didn't use the M.2 SSD. One thing I notice is the disk activity sometimes jumps to 100% when the lags happened.
The problem doesn't lie with the laptop specification is inferior. Fyi, when I play music on foobar2000 it took few second for music to start playing (foobar says 'starting playback..') while on my pentium 4 desktop (which I still use) the music plays right after I clicked the song.
Also, eventhough I've closed all my applications, leaving only music player and microsoft word/firefox, the music which is playing lags (randomly stops for a moment).
The lags also happened when watching videos. I played video on Media Player Classic, turned the statistics on. There happen to be frame drops sometimes. Not framerate drop, just frame dropped. I mean, I think framerate dropping has relation with computer power while in my case the frame just randomly drops, which 'damages' the video, not slowing it down.
I am sure that this is hardware-related problem. I am going to take my laptop to service center but not now since I am in need on my laptop now.
I will give update later when I have gone to the service center.
