What is IMPORT/EXORT statements ?please give some example code?

EXPORT :-To read data objects from an ABAP program into ABAP memory, use the following statement:
    Syntax
    EXPORT <f1> [FROM <g 1>] <f 2> [FROM <g 2>] ... TO MEMORY ID <key>.
This statement stores the data objects specified in the list as a cluster in memory. If you do not use the option FROM <f i >, the data object <f i > is saved under its own name. If you use the FROM <g i > option, the data objet <g i > is saved under the name <f i >. The name <key> identifies the cluster in memory. It may be up to 32 characters long.
The EXPORT statement always completely overwrites the contents of any existing data cluster with the same name <key>.
IMPORT :-To read data objects from ABAP memory into an ABAP program, use the following statement:
    Syntax
    IMPORT <f1> [TO <g 1>] <f 2> [TO <g 2>] ... FROM MEMORY ID <key>.
This statement reads the data objects specified in the list from a cluster in memory. If you do not use the TO <g i > option, the data object <f i > in memory is assigned to the data object in the program with the same name. If you do use the option, the data object <f i > is read from memory into the field <g i >. The name <key> identifies the cluster in memory. It may be up to 32 characters long.
You do not have to read all of the objects stored under a particular name <key>. You can restrict the number of objects by specifying their names. If the memory does not contain any objects under the name <key>, SY-SUBRC is set to 4. If, on the other hand, there is a data cluster in memory with the name <key>, SY-SUBRC is always 0, regardless of whether it contained the data object <f i >. If the cluster does not contain the data object <f i >, the target field remains unchanged.
they are used to save and reterive data in ABAP memory.
here is an example to clear about them.
    <b>REPORT ZWA_TEST2 .
data: it_bkpf type table of bkpf with header line.
SELECT * FROM bkpf into table it_bkpf.
EXPORT it_bkpf TO MEMORY ID 'MID'.
    refresh it_bkpf.
IMPORT it_bkpf FROM MEMORY ID 'MID'.
    LOOP AT It_bkpf.
    write:/ it_bkpf-belnr.

  • Give some examples of sd tickets

give some examples of sd tickets, how these are solved?????/

    Check these few ones
    1. Account Assignment of Customer / material not maintained in Customer / Material Master (If maintained in combination in VKOA).
    Solution:
    Option 1 (Standard solution):
step 1: Cancel Billing Document --> Reverse PGI --> cancel Delivery --> Cancel Sales Order
step 2: Maintain Customer master / Material Master correctly.
step 3: Recreate sales Order --> Delivery --> PGI --> Invoicing.
    Option 2:
Force the Account Assignment Group of Customer / Material through Debug in change mode of Billing document, which will release Billing Document to Accounting.
    2. Account Key not maintained in Pricing Procedure:
Impact: This may create accounting document, but if condition type, which are to be posted to account, but do not have account key maintained in pricing procedure, it will not be post the relevant condition type to G/L account.
    3. Billing Document not being released to accounting --
In Material Master, there is some link between Profit Centre & MRP Type. If one of it is not maintained, erratically few documents get stuck while releasing Billing Document to accounting. Few of course get posted.
Solution1: Cancel Billing Document --> Reverse PGI --> Cancel Delivery --> Block the sales Order & Create new sales Cycle all over again after rectifying Material master.
Solution 2: (Temporary Solution) In Debug mode in Billing, force the Profit Center in Billing Document with the help of Abaper. But ensure Material master is rectified.
From FI Side, you require to check that all the G/L account has been maintained through T.Code: FS00. G/L account being Master data has to be created in each client to upload through LSMW / SCATT / BDC.
In Billing Document in change mode (in the first screen where we enter Billing Document number), on the top most left hand corner, take a dropdown on Billing Document & select Release to accounting. Here you can get the under mentioned possible message:
    1. G/L account not found
    2. Cost Element not maintained for G/L account.
In both the above cases, FI consultant requires to take corrective action.

what is process in oracle give some examples

The tem "process" has multiple meaning in Oracle but most likely you probably are referring to the Oracle background process used to perform the work for an Oracle session.  These are in fact OS processes spawed by Oracle using fork on UNIX/Linux and would be task thread on Windows.  You can find infomraion on these proceses via the v$process view.  You join v$process to v$session to see the front and backend processes for a connection to Oracle.
The Concpts manual describes Oracle process Architecture:

  • Purpose defining common distrn channel? give some examples

purpose defining common distrn channel? give some examples

    hi,
If you do not need the master data (customer / material and condition master data) to
be differentiated according to distribution channels, you have to set up a representative
distribution channel. The master data for the representative distribution channel
applies to all distribution channels for which you have set up this reference in
    Customizing.
By doing this, you can minimize the effort of entering and maintaining master data.
In addition, you can update statistics for distribution channels without having to create
master data for the various distribution channels.
Consider you have three Dist Chnls (01, 02 & 03) and 10 customers who can buy thru either of these dist chnls. In order to enter a sales order you will have to extend the customers to all the 3 Dist Chnls, which means for 10 customers you will have 30 records in the tables. In real time scenario the number of customers and dist chnls are huge and they keep increasing. Imagine the amount of data you will have to maintain.
For this purpose SAP came up with the Common Distribution Channel Concept where you would identify the dist chnl for which you can maintain records and in the process reduce the number of records and also use it for the other dist chnls too.
If you create the dist chnl 01 as the common dist chnl and link 02 & 03 to it, you will have to maintain only 10 records and still can use it for all the 3 dist chnls. The same is applicable for the common division.

  • How to define common division?   give some examples

how to definfe common division?   give some examples

    Hi,
You can define that customer master records, which have been created for each sales organization for a distribution channel (or division), are also valid in other distribution channels (or divisions). As a result, you create and change customer master records that are required in different distribution channels or in different divisions only once. This makes it easier to create and change master records.
    Divisions
In Customizing, you can specify other divisions in which customer master data (and article master data and prices) from the reference division are also valid.
You do this in Customizing for Master Data (Sales and Distribution) in the following activities:(SPRO>SD>Master data)
    Define Common Distribution Channels
    Define Common Divisions

  • WHY - give workable examples of using JHeadstart to convert forms into ADF.

Why give examples of how to use JHeadStart to convert forms in to ADF, but not allow it to be done with the evaluation version ... I assume it was possible with the 10g versions. Is it broken in 11g.
I was lookig to build a case for migrating an oracle forms application to Oracle Java and not a IBM or JBOSS or even .Net application, I can't build that case now, I have no budget to engage Oracle, have to do this of my own bat. Company has been take over by bigger company that has IBM stack.
Is Oracle this follish to allow the smaller users of Oralce to go by the way side, be lost to other languages etc

We deliberately did not include the Forms2ADFGenerator in the evaluation version.
Modernizing your forms application, possibly migrating it to ADF is a considerable effort that is often underestimated.
Migration tools like the Forms2ADFGenerator can help to a certain extent but are by no means a magic bullet. This is something we cannot stress enough, as over and over again we see people who think migration tools can make the difference. They cannot.
If you want to make a choice of development environment to modernize your forms application, then the availability of a migration tool should not play a role!
It is a fundamental and strategic decision to go for Oracle ADF which should not be influenced by a minor time saver like a migration tool.
To decide on the use of JHeadstart, the evaluation version with the tutorial should be convincing enough.
The real power of Jheadstart is not in the Forms2ADF Generator, this tool is just a lbonus that can save you a bit of time.
    Here is some more info:
When does JHeadstart Forms2ADF Generator save time
The amount of work that can be saved by using the JHeadstart Forms2ADF Generator (JFG) very much depends on the structure of the Oracle Forms application at hand. The JHeadstart Forms2ADF Generator provides most savings for forms that have the following characteristics:
    * Standard-Forms data retrieval and data manipulation through blocks based on database tables, with master-detail relations defined between the block
    * Complex user interface, many (stacked) canvasses, many tabs, many list of values, and other display types
    * PL/SQL logic mostly limited to user interface dynamics: conditionally showing/hiding user interface items, and conditionally changing the properties of user interface items. While JHeadstart does not convert PL/SQL logic, this type of logic is easily implemented in the ADF application because JHeadstart provides many declarative property settings to implement this behavior.
    PL.SQL Logic
JHeadstart has made the deliberate choice to not automatically convert the PL/SQL logic to Java. The reasons for this are:
    * It is impossible to automate the migration of a two-tier architecture (logic in Forms or in the database) to a three tier Model-View-Controller architecture as is common in JEE web applications, including ADF-based applications.
    * The architecture of the converted application should be identical to the best-practice architecture of an ADF application that is build from scratch. If the architecture is the same, the same skill set can be used to maintain both migrated applications and ADF applications build from scratch. In addition, by going for a best practice architecture, the application is more flexible, and can be maintained easier at lower cost.
    * When using the JHeadstart Forms2ADF Generator, you get this best-practice ADF architecture that is identical to ADF/JHeadstart applications that are built from scratch.
    Other Forms2ADF Considerations
And even if it turns out the JFG adds a lot of value, there are many other questions you should ask yourself before embarking on a Foms2ADF project.
    For example:
    * Apart from technical reasons like old Forms verisons no longer supported, are there real business reasons and business benefits for migrating that justify the migration effort?
    * To what extent is the application still meeting functional requirements?
    * Are there issues with stability and end user friendliness?
    * Old forms applications are typical "window-on-data" screens, you see the structure of the datamodel through the layout of the screens. Modern web 2.0 composite applications are more task-oriented with good support for human workflow. You should consider to what extent it wants to leverage all these new user interfaces capabilities that come with ADF Faces and WebCenter.
    * How does the application fits in the overall IT landscape? What interfaces to other systems exist, what (old/obsolete?) technology is used to implement those interfaces?
    * What about batch functionality and reporting facilities?
    * May be part of the functionality of the current system can be replaced with standard off-the-shelf software?
    * How sound, well structured and future proof is the underlying datamodel?
    * To what extent are you looking at service-orientated architectures? Whats the SOA maturity level of your organisation?
    * Above questions help to answer the key question: how desirable and benficial is it to migrate an old monolitic forms application 1:1 to a monolitic ADF aplication? How does that fit in overall IT strategy?
    * Organisational isues: who will migrate the system, who will maintain the system? Is outsourcing considered? etc.
    Next Steps
We offer a Forms2ADF assessment service in which we migrate a number of sample forms selected by the customer to assess the added value of the JFG, and we discuss all of the above questions
For example, I did one Forms2ADF assessment where it turned out that JFG added litlle or no value, but we were still able to convince the customer of the combined power of ADF and JHeadstart in (re-)building ADF apps from scratch.
You also might want to take a look at some presentations I did on this topic, and some online demo's:

  • Can you give some real-life use of tables in BW?

    Hi,
In reading links and notes from here, I took a leap to try and understand how tables are used in the BW environment, by following:
    se16
    RSZ* then  F4
    then I Double click on:
    i.
RSZRANGE        Selection specification for an element
If execute, I get a table with a several fields with values.
What is this table suppose to tell me and can you give me a real-life scenario where you made use of such a research to solve a problem?
    ii.
    RSZOPRATOR       Formula Operators
similarly, here I found fields with operators and mostly numbers.
What is this table suppose to tell me and can you give me a real-life scenario where you made use of such a research to solve a problem?
iii. Later I tried RSU* then
    RSUPDDAT        Update rules key figures
Nothing recognizable here about the update rules.
What is this table suppose to tell me and can you give me a real-life scenario where you made use of such a research to solve a problem?
    iv.
Also, sometimes here conversations like, research on which tables have the fields you need and let’s generate reports against them. I though tin BW, reports are always generated against data targets (ODS, Cubes, etc). I didn’t know of tables.
Can you give a real-life scenario where you had to combine fields in 2 or 3 tables and use them in project?
    Thanks

    Amanda,
There are many scenarios where you can use the tables behind the screen. But most of the times the scenarios are sophisticated requirement. Suppose your installation has many data targets and all are getting loaded nightly, weekly or even monthly intervals. Usually in most places the person on call will go and look at all the targets in the morning whether all the loads are successful (they would have beeped if something faild during loading at nights). Instead of going thru this manual process you can write an ABAP program which will look at the infocubes and ODS and see how many records were added, transferred, updated success or failure all kinds of information.
RSA1 is just a front end and all the information you see are all coming from tables which are stored here. go to SE80 or SE11 and search for the tables behind the screens. Every bit of detail that you see is coming from tables or available in tables. There are many tables and they are all relational. So you can pretty much do anything you like in accessing them. Please just read (SELECT) from them. Don't try to delete, insert anything unless you know what you are doing absolutely.
    Hope this helps.
    Good luck with your learning.
    Alex.
