Giving others access to my dashbaords
Im a newbie to OBIEE.
I have created all my dashboards under"My Dashboard" using the Administrator login.
Is there anyway that I can make these dashboards available for other users ?
Edited by: Shaz01 on Sep 2, 2009 8:50 PM
Hello,
hmmm... "My Dashboard", name itself saying that, it's your own dashboard. Every user having his own my dashboard, my folders. These are restricted to those particular users. You can't see them between users unless you shared among them..
Hope it helps..!!

We have adobe acrobat pro installed on our computer - we have changed the password - but it is still not giving us access to update our adobe reader. The name is showing as Marriner. Is this linked to our account?
What is your operating system?
To install/update Adobe Reader or Acrobat you need to supply your computer's Administrator password. -
if i set up a new email account on my iphone 4 can i get security code or extra pin to stop others accessing the new email account?
No, and if I noticed anyone that I allowed to use my iPhone checking my email which is the same as opening any of my snail mail without my permission, that would be the last time they used my iPhone.

I lost my Iphone 5 today in Johor Bahru. Not install Find my Phone/Icloud/Offline. How to prevent others access my email and data ? Or how to remote lost mode/locking phone ?

If you didn't enable find my iphone in icloud settings on your phone, then you can't do a lost mode or lock your phone.
I would assume you had a passcode on your phone to lock it. If you didn't then start changing your passwords.
Report the lost to your phone carrier - local authorities. -
Hi all,
I am using Exchange server 2013, my task is to create
Service , that
need's to monitor continuously for new mails of all Mailboxes in
my server. if any user got new mail i need to get that Mail Subject, Mail Body, Sender Email Address [From emailId] .
Limitation
: I don't have Passwords of mailboxes , so i gave all mailbox access permission to one user , then i completed this service using below code.
But now, Client
not willing to give Mailbox Permissions to one user because of security problems.
How can i do this without passwords and without giving permissions to other user ?
i don't want all mailbox access , i just need only
access Mail Subject , Body and Sender mail address .
How can i achieve
this ?
Process i follow
=> I created new user in server , and then i gave full permissions of all Mailboxes to newly created user[ex: james] in database level.
i use below command for giving permissions in database level.
Get-MailboxDatabase -Identity <Database Name> | Add-ADPermission -User <User> -AccessRights GenericAll
=> using below code i am searching unread mails of all user Mailboxes and then getting Subject, body and Sender Email address . here i am have list of users,
ExchangeService service = new ExchangeService(ExchangeVersion.Exchange2013);
service.Credentials = new WebCredentials("[email protected]", "password");
service.AutodiscoverUrl("[email protected]"); foreach (Object obj in usersList) // here i have Mailbox users list in usersList
{ var userMailbox = new Mailbox(obj.user);
var folderId = new FolderId(WellKnownFolderName.Inbox, userMailbox);
SearchFilter.IsEqualTo filter1 = new SearchFilter.IsEqualTo(EmailMessageSchema.IsRead, false);
var itemView = new ItemView(50);
var userItems = service.FindItems(folderId, filter1, itemView);
foreach (var item in userItems)
item.Load();
var senderEmail = ((EmailMessage)item).From;
var subject = item.Subject;
var body = item.Body;You would need to check that possibilities via WebServices but suggest you to post this in Development forum to get help from programmers....

WSUS 3.0 SP2 on Server 2008 R2 not working (no console or other access)
Hi,
In a brand new network with all 2008 R2 servers I setup WSUS. Initially I could not install the role from the Roles tool in Windows and had to install it from a downloaded file from Microsoft (which I later read is due to 2008 R2).
This ran fine for about 2 weeks, I had all the clients and workstations in groups, approving updates and installing them.. all tickety boo and then one day the console wont connect and I have not been able to get back into WSUS to do anything. I tried removing
and re-installing WSUS (both keeping the local database and then deleting it the second time) but nothing helps. My event log reports the following every 6 hours:
Event ID 13042 - Self-update is not working
Event ID 12002 - The reporting web service is not working
Event ID 12012 - The API Remoting Web Service is not working
Event ID 12032 - The Server Synchronization Web Service is not working
Event ID 12022 - The Client Web Service is not working
Event ID 12042 - The SimpleAuth Web Service is not working
Event ID 12052 - The DSS Authentication Web Service is not working
Some extra points based on what I have read:
The server DOES have .net 4.0 installed
WSUS has been removed and re-installed
All servers are 2008 R2
The server also runs Remote Desktop Services.. but aside from this is just a file and print server
Because this server (and the whole network) are brand new, standard practice is to run WSUS against the Microsoft update site and install all critical and optional updates and patches and etc..
While it was working, I can't recall installing anything that may have broken it, however typically Windows patches do not cause problems on our machines, so I do not pay too close attention to what gets installed.. Perhaps one of these updates broke WSUS?
Can anyone offer some suggestions for how to troubleshoot this and try get things moving again?
Thanks!Hi,
> then one day the console wont connect and I have not been able to get back into WSUS to do anything.
Any error message when you launch WSUS console?
You mentioned you have Kaspersky Endpoint Security software installed on WSUS server, have you configured antivirus software to exclude WSUS content directory?
If you cannot access the WSUS console and a timeout error message appears, the CPU of the WSUS server may be at, or very close to, maximum utilization, which causes the database software to time out. If the database software times out, the WSUS console cannot
be displayed.
One way of inadvertently overtaxing your WSUS server is to have antivirus software monitor the WSUS content directory. During synchronization, the antivirus software can overload the CPU.
Please ignore WSUS content in your antivirus software and check the result.

A few months ago I set up some redirected folders on a clients Windows Small Busines Server 2008. I recall that setting up the redirected folders was straightforward, but when I edited the permissions to allow administrative access to these server located
folders, all hell broke lose. The permissions change seemed to trash the folders. I think I managed to 'bodge' it for a couple of users and got it working, but it was such a headache I didn't bother doing it for the other users.
Now, I sit in front of a brand-spanking-new Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard box which is going to be installed with a new client within 48 hours. I would like to set up redirected folders and would like to grant admin rights on these folders so I can view
their contents directly from the server.
It seems to me that there is no offical Microsoft documentation which relates specifically to doing this on Windows Server 2008. Given the amount of problems this has caused for many admins, I am astounded.
Somewhere there are articles which describe how to do it on 2003, but this procedure does not work well in 2008.
There is an SBS article that admits permissions can be trashed, but this is no help on Standard edition:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2010/10/08/folder-redirection-in-small-business-server-2008.aspx
I have just posted a note on this rather long article:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-GB/smallbusinessserver/thread/70fa7f0e-7f2c-4f00-8401-42d262d80cd6
So, my question, hopefully to Microsoft employee, please can you document
exactly how to grant admin rights to users redirected folders on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, and please could you do it today :-)
In the absence of this help, then I'm afraid this is yet another great but badly implemented feature that we will not be using.
StuartTypical Micro$haft answer!

NO IT DOESN'T!
Did you bother to read the original question?
Quote "So, my question, hopefully to Microsoft employee, please can you document exactly how

So, Micro$haft, Why did you give instructions to Server 2003?

I am at my wits end. I've been developing on Windows for 20 years but have never run across something like this. On Windows 7 Pro I need to install the SQL Server 2014 demo (SQLServer2014-x64-ENU) with the SQL Server 2012 community data mgmt

that says I don't have permissions to update. Have not been able to isolate it farther than that. Have done all the fixes I've been able to find online and none of them have worked. For whatever reason, when I install the same thing under

I do not understand and never seen a log that tell you what to buy or what it cost.
according to your explanation I would probably try to restore to point in time before the first installation which star the problem. If you do not have a backup then it is a great lesson for life :-)
In this case:
Please provide us more information from the log file during the installation that stopped + the errors that you get in current attempt to install.

Can't upgrade without giving up access at work
We still use Tiger at work -- lots of G4s and G5s, Quark 6.5, and old, proprietary (database driven) production system. Any upgrade has to be planned carefully and will be a company-wide hardware and software upgrade.
Unfortunately, we can't justify upgrading an entire company to Snow Leopard so I can sync my calendar at home and at work. And I can't upgrade at home without giving up the work availability.
Sigh. Oh well.Sounds just like the newspaper I retired from
I have a similar situation at home, with two machines which can't progress beyond 10.4.11. The bad news is that events added to a calendar on an iOS 4.x device will never sync to the Tiger machines. The "good" news is that it does work the other way around, so an event you add at work will show up on your home machines as long as you do not "upgrade" to the new MobileMe.

Using a Report Filter without giving users access to "Design" mode
I have a report in which I use the filter bar to provide my end users the ability to use a drop down menu to switch between different months worth of data. However, I have been asked to disable the ability for users to access the Design mode. I have been unable to come up with the right security settings to allow the report filter while disabling the Design mode. Does anyone have any suggestions to this problem?
BO XI 4.0 Patch 9
Thanks very much for your helpHi,
I'm familiar with your issue - described here BO4 navigate the available object in READING MODE in webi
and also here: Hide/Disable DESIGN MODE on WebI (BI4)
I've every reason to believe this is currently not possible. You may want to vote on the existing Enhancement Requests in Ideas Place, or create your own

Giving all access to UIU_COMP in CRM 7.0
If I have a one to one relationship with my business roles and pfcg roles is there any reason not to provide all employees with * for UIU_COMP object? I been adjusting this object everytime our Business Analyst make a change to business roles am I'm starting to wonder why I didn't just give all access to this in the first place. We're already controling what is displayed through business role and what access is given through pfcg so why should we restirct UIU_Comp when having the 1 to 1 relationship? Would like to know other's thoughts on this.
Thanks,
AlexA possible drawback I can think of is if that the same object is used when maintaining the menu in PFCG.
There was a question a few weeks ago about the number of menu objects exceeding the limitations of the authorization fields to handle them. A solution was given to continue maintaining the menu and not regenerating the authorizations after changes made.
I would try to avoid that situation, if it applies.
Cheers,

Giving BOBJ access to SAP User IDs
Hi,
We have implemented SAP BI with Integration to BOXI 3.1.
We want to decide on access strategy on BOBJ.
We have noticed that once SAP Users log in to BOBJ they start appearing in BO user list as <SID>~<CLNT>/UserName
We are also able to assign BO access rights to these user IDs.
I want to know if there are any drawbacks in using the above approach for assigning BO permissions.
Please let me know if there is any document with pros and cons for this approach or is it mandatory that we always assign permission using SAP Imported Roles
Thanks
Imtiazhello Raghu,
Thank you for your suggestion
I have a Premium "BusinessObjects Enterprise Premium Version License Key Information ".The expiry is on 2010.
In the authentication there are the following option
1)Entitlement Systems 2) Role Import 3) SNC Settings 4) Options
I do not find any license option in any of these tabs.
Kindly let me know as i am not getting errors .All the roles are visible but not the users.
Thanks and Regards,

Giving users access to Excel reports created from cubes
I have created several Excel dashboards and would like to give regular users access to view them. I'd like them to be able to choose their own date ranges using different slicers in the dashboards. What kind of security do I need to setup to
give a user access to these with only view rights? It looks like right now they receive a datasource error when they open the files.
Thanks in advance!On the DW SQL Server, click Start, click All Programs, click
Microsoft SQL Server 2008, and then click SQL Server Management Studio.
In the Connect to Server dialog box, in the Server type list, select
Analysis Services.
In the Server name box, select or type the name of the server where the DW DB Server is located, and then click
Connect.
In Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, in Object Explorer, expand the <server name> node, expand the
Databases node, expand the DWASDataBase node, and then expand the
Roles node.
Double-click the SCDW_Report_Readers node.
In the Edit Role dialog box, in the Select a page pane, click
Membership.
Click Add to add users or click Remove to delete users, and then follow the instructions on the screen. This adds and deletes users who have access to the whole cube.

Giving Template Access to Web Site Authors
Is there a way to allow Dreamweaver users who have sites
within our main to have access to a root folder that includes
templates for the site? This template has server side includes.
Thanks in advance!

Giving Read access to key fields explicitly
Hi sap gurus,
How to give read access to key fields explicitlyHi and thanks for the response.
The user has 2 security groups.
The first allows them "All" access to their entity, default and the RD security class for R&D accounts.
This group means they have read/write access to all accounts, which for their own entity is acceptable.
If in the second group I give them read access to all entities then they can read all accounts for all entities.
I need to stop them from seeing all accounts except the RD accounts for the other entities.
Is this possible?
