GL account Mapping incorretly to Group account

GL account XXXXX has been mapped to Group acct YYYY in FS00. However there are transactions hitting GL account xxxxx coming from other Group accounts zzzz and wwww.
The above transactions are seen in report taken from T.code GD20 for Special ledger. Kindly advice.

  • Sub Bank accounts mapping with main Bank account

    Bank accounts
    Hi
How can we will map with main bank account to sub bank accounts.
Example; My main bank account: 1111, and
Sub bank account :  2222 ( Deposit account)
Sub bank account: 3333 (Cheque issue account)
    Regards
    PVC

    Hi
Bank account-  This is the G/L account that you provide at the Housebank level configuration in FBZP.
Sub account - This is the G/L account which you provide in the Bank Determination level in FBZP
Now conceptually there are many transactions which need to be routed through clearing accounts. This is where the sub accounts come handy and are used for clearing purposes. they are open item managed accounts. So clearing is possible. In the end the main bank account tallies with your bank balance and moreover the clearing accounts become zero after all clearing has happened.
Moreover the best way to maintain the G/L in SAP would be
    XXXX0 as the Main account
    XXXX1 say outgoing checks
    XXXX2 say outgoing wires
    Hope this clarifies

  • Group Accounts in MDG-F

What is correct way to handle Group account in MDG-F in MDG 6.0? We have an operating CoA and Group CoA, if I try to create an account in operating CoA, The MDG chnage request processing requires a value for Group Account. I created a account in Group CoA and tries referencing in operating CoA but it doesnt work as in data model this group account value is being referenced by FS Item entity type.
Should Group CoA be managed as FS  Item? Is there any other way than using FS Item. It seems that if I use FS Item it will require FSI, FSIT & FSIH entity types to be added to edition type as well as chnage request.
Is it possible to replicate FS Item to Group CoA in ECC?
Any expereince in handling such situation?

    Hello Zorawar
The process of creating group account in MDG is different. Since the group account is mapped in GL, you have use FSI entity type for creating group account. Then you can use the same group account and map it in operating GL - ACCOUNT entity type.
Now when you create a group account as FSI entity type, there are various fields which are really not required. Inform your business about it. You have to add FSI / FSIT and H in your entity type / edition as it is must but don't fill up values. You may get error but just proceed further. Ignore this error.
Regarding your question on replication - FSI won't get replicated as group account. So what we did is, we have created FSI as well as ACCOUNT for the same group account. Create both in one change request. Your account will get replicated and not FSI.
Try this approach and let me know. As this worked in our case since there was no option. You have to create the same account 2 times using FSI and ACCOUNT entity type,

  • Impact modify group account number

    Hi Gurus,
Do anyone know impact of modify OOTB group account number for Oracle BI Applications 7.9.6.3. Impact on Informatica mapping, RPD and OBIEE answer.
    Thanks
    Joni

Group account numbers are what map your natural GL accounts from your chart of accounts to the OOTB group account numbers. This is needed for calculation of your balance sheet, income statement, etc. In other words, you MUST edit the OOTB file if you want to reflect your source system accounts. You need to follow the setup in the OBIA config guide (I assume this is for EBS source system). Any time you update the group account csv files, there is a chance you need to rerun the GL Reconciliation process (see the config guide for this).

  • FI-SL: create an user exit to get the "name of the group account"

    Hi,
I'm creating a special ledger and have to add 2 informations:
    - name of the general account
    - name of the group account
The table I se is ACCIT_GLX. In this table, I can't get the name of the general and group accounts directly.
I guess I have to use user exits.
I can find the name of the general account in the table SKA1. But do you know where I can find the name of the group account?
I'm not a developer at all. But I just need the name of the field and table to indicate them to the IT team.

    Dear Expert,
In Tcode Fs00 when you create GL account Master there is Group Account number when you maintain group chart of accounts this field automatically becomes mandatory entry , here Press F1 and Select the Technical Details button there you can find the Technical name and the table and other details of it.

  • Group Chart Of Accounts and Group Account Number

    Hi SAP Gurus,
For the sake of consolidated reporting, we are planning to create group chart of accounts and assign a Group account number to the GL account master. The structure is going to be like this:
Operating Expenses (Group Account : 461000).
Air Conditioning Exp   (GL account 461000001)
    Elevators                   (GL account 461000002)
Coffee and snacks      (GL account 461000003)
This is being done to achieve a detail level reporting at the company code level and a consolidated reporting at a group level where the reporting would be based on group account or FSIs. We would define a financial statement version based on FSIs.
My question is : do we need to activate the consolidation (EC-CS) module to push the data to the FSIs or the data would flow automatically to the group account if we assign this to the GL master. If we go to fetch the data from the ECMCT table, do we need to have a consolidation unit?
    Any inputs are highly appreciated.
    thanks
    sri

    Hi,
There are certain preliminary steps to be carried out in ECCS. You can find them under SPRO->Enterprise Controlling->Consolidation->Integration: Preparation for Consolidation.
You need to choose the type of consolidation, create Company, link it to Cons Unit in ECCS, Creating/Copying FS Items (each account in Group COA will have an FS Item; 1:1),  etc.,
After the setup, you actually need to carry out Rollup or Flexi Upload for importing FI data into ECCS FS Items. This is done to Data Monitor - CXCD.
In ECMCT, typical selections would be Dimension, Cons Unit, Cons COA, FS Item.
I suppose these preliminary steps are requried for the data to flow to FS Items.
    Hope this clarifies.

  • Questions about Mapping GL Accounts to Group Accounts

    Hi,
I have some questions about mapping gl accounts to group accounts while configuring OBIEE APPS 7.9.6.3 with EBS R12 as a source:
    FIRST QUESTION.-
For file file_group_acct_codes_ora.csv, I have the following accounts from my customer:
    101101 - Caja Administrativa
    101102 - Fondo Revolvente
    101103 - Caja de Cambios
    101104 - Efectivo en cajero
This group of accounts is named CASH, now my customer said that this group begins in 101101 and ends in 101199 but in this moment only have this 4 accounts in GL, the rest of the accounts, I mean 101105-101199 are not used right now, they are gonna used in the future.
So, my question is, in file_group_acct_codes_ora.csv how I need to put this group:
    In this way:
    CHART OF ACCOUNTS ID,FROM ACCT,TO ACCT,GROUP_ACCT_NUM
    50308,101101,101104,CASH
    Or in this way:
    CHART OF ACCOUNTS ID,FROM ACCT,TO ACCT,GROUP_ACCT_NUM
    50308,101101,101199,CASH
I mean, is there any problem if I use the second way, or is necessary to do it in the first way, and why?
    SECOND QUESTION.-
For file file_group_acct_names.csv, when I update with a new group of accounts, is there any rule or size boundary for GROUP_ACCOUNT_NAME?
    THIRD QUESTION.-
For file_group_acct_names.csv, what is the value in column LANGUAGE? I mean, is EBS language?, DB language?, server language?
I hope that someone can help me, because I need to clarify this and don't do the first full load and this load ends with error because of this.
    Regards,
    Arnulfo

I'll take some broad swipes at this and let the smarter people come fill in the details.
We have a true 1:1 setup in our office and have moved to PHDs as a means of protecting against downtime. The thinking is that we will have a spare machine lying around with our base installation ready to go. If a user's machine fails we'll replace it with the spare machine, let it sync the user directory from the server, and we're back in business. It's no substitute for a real backup system, but it potentially avoids having to run a restore from your backups. It also reduces network traffic compared to plain networked homes, and still lets your users work if the server goes down, but provides the benefits of centralized management. John DeTroye wrote a nice article about this.
If you've already got data on your "client" Mac you will need to move it onto the server. PHDs will download data from the server to the client on the first sync, but will not upload a complete home directory from the client to an empty directory on the server. You'll find some posts in this forum discussing how people have gone about migrating data prior to that first sync.
WGM allows you to establish exclusions for stuff you don't want to sync.
One thing to watch out for in the scenario you describe is the so-called "rabbit effect." Assume Bob uses Mac1 as his primary machine. If one day he logs into Mac2 his home directory will be downloaded to Mac2. Once he returns to Mac1 he'll still be cluttering up Mac2 with his data. If he logs into Mac3 the next day and Tom and Sue are also periodically logging into different machines, you can see how you'll end up with a mess pretty quickly.
    Hope this helps.

  • Group GL and Operational GL | Mapping of ECC GL Accounts and BCS FS Items

    Dear All,
Can you please clarify how the group gl in SAP ECC are mapped to FS Items in SEM BCS.
FS Item is as such created as a navigational attribute of GL account. But what is the mapping of the Group GL. And how the system will understand, which are all the Operational GL Accounts which are mapped to group gl, that is FS item in BW.
    Thank you.

In BCS the source data basis (infocube) must include the object for group account. Once this is accomplished the load-from-datastream mapping is simple to map the group account to FS item.

  • Mapping EBS account codes to Group Account Numbers - Customization

    Hi,
I want to map the account codes that are present in the Oracle EBS to BI Mappings.
I am aware of the changes to be made to the following three files:
    ■ file_group_acct_names.csv - this file specifies the group account names and their corresponding group account codes.
    ■ file_group_acct_codes_ora.csv - this file maps General Ledger accounts to group account codes.
    ■ file_grpact_fsmt.csv - this file maps Financial Statement Item Codes to group account codes.
The overview of my case is as flows:
The client requires the general accounts to be clubbed into different sub-groups based on their reporting practices. This would lead to generation of around 60-70 odd group account numbers. My queries are as follows:
1.There are cases where accounts belonging to a single parent account needs to be bifurcated into two different group account numbers. In that case, to which group account number should the parent account be classified?
2.Can we go about modifying the existing group account numbers and adding new group account numbers as long as we are able to categorize them in the existing 6 financial statement buckets?
3.What are the changes needed to be done in the RPD file to reflect the changes made to the group account numbers? Any documentation highlighting the same would be highly helpful.
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Rajit

    Hi Krishna,
I have the same required as yours.
    I implemented the note 914437.
I noticed two peculiar cases from the standard mapping i.e. (standard BP Role sold to party)
    1) In BP transaction, in Display in BP Role drop down list box there is no custom BP Role as shown above but if I select the detail Icon I can find it there as shown in below screen shot.
    2) I found in Tx BP there is only one BP Role as shown above but in CRM Web UI there are two BP Roles in the ROLEs assignment block.
Could you please add your comments or solution for it.
    Thanks,
    Raja

  • Financial Analytics (Map GL natural account to group account numbers )

    Hi All,
In configuring Financial Analytics file_group_acct_codes_ora.csv file to map oracle general ledger natural account to group account number, It is mentioned that a range of accounts can be grouped as EX:
Chart Of Aaccount ID=1 FROM ACCT=101010 TO ACCT=101099 Group_ACCT_NUM= CA
on what basis we need to decide what range of accounts can we grouped as CA/ FG INV/ AP / AR etc. Are there any ERP tables that holds these information.
    Thank you

No, this is not in the ERP.Usually the FInance analyst or Business Process Owner will be able to provide the info

  • Sharing the same account mapping in 2 different locations

I am using FDM (version 11.1.1.3 and 11.1.2.1).
    Hi Expert,
I would like to ask about sharing the same mapping in multiple locations. Currently, I have 3 (or more later) locations in FDM. I have a set of account mapping which I would like to maintain it as a master copy and apply this account mapping to all 3 of my locations in FDM. I figured that I need to upload the account mapping everytime switching between locations.
I know that for logic group, I can assign the same logic group to multiple locations by updating the properties in "Locations" under "MetaData".
Is it possible to do the same thing for account mapping? e.g. upload only 1 set of account mapping and assign multiple location to it?
    Thank you!

Choose one of the locations and assign it as the Parent location for the other 2 locations on the Locations metadata screen. These locations will then share the mapping of the parent location and you only need to maintain the mappings in the parent location.

  • Country chart of accounts mapping to operational chart of accounts

    Hi All,
We intend to use country specific chart of accounts to one of our company code along with operational chart of accounts. We try to map 1 operational G/L account to a group of country G/L accounts, system not allowing doing this, understanding it allows only 1:1 mapping.
Is there any work around to achieve this?
Requirement at country COA level, G/L accounts should be created and reported by Department: e.g.
    Salary u2013 Finance u2013 600100
    Salary u2013 R/D u2013 600110
    Salary u2013 Marketing u2013 600120
The same way for couple of P&L accounts to be created, but in operational COA we do have only one expense or revenue account these are used across the globe (all company codes).
I heard that, it is possible in SPECIAL PURPOSE LEDGER, creating new ledger and assigning the country specific chart of accounts, inputting some validation to achieve this purpose.
Simulating the purpose, with an example; during posting, where Operational COA G/L ACCOUNT equals to specific COST CENTER check FUNCTIONAL AREA and pick the appropriate country COA G/L ACCOUNT .
Substitution for Validation; Functional Area = Country Specific G/L Account
Currently Iu2019m using the mySAP and using New G/L (not document split), would like to achieve the Special Purpose Ledger functionality by creating a new ledger type in New G/L to map country specific chart of accounts to operational chart of accounts (N:1).
Please share any other alternatives avail to achieve this.
The reports are needed by functional area,
Balance sheet by functional area G/L accounts (country specific COA)
(Figured some difficulty to assign functional area to G/L accounts, though I have cost of sales accounting is activated)
T/B by functional area G/L accounts (country specific COA)
Journals by functional area G/L accounts (country specific COA)
Document line items by functional area G/L accounts (country specific COA)
Please try to share you thoughts and advice on this.
    Thanks.
    Vyas

    Dear  Vyas,
We have similar requirement as yours
Requirement at country COA level, G/L accounts should be created and reported by Department: e.g.
    Salary u2013 Finance u2013 600100
    Salary u2013 R/D u2013 600110
    Salary u2013 Marketing u2013 600120
I would like to know how are u handling this situation.
    Thanks and Regards

  • GL account mapping

I have an GL account that represents a recent bond issue and there is an uploaded csv file with all the account groups and ranges defined to which it should be on. After realising that my report amounts were incorrect because of this account not being mapped, I added the account to the csv file and full load was run. This morning I checked to see if it worked but I am still getting a message under group account name that configuration mapping is still required for this specific bond issue account. On the rpd end I have a default initializer BOND_ISSUE which represents the group account name - and this is what should pick up the amount that is not showing on the report. I am trying to get the GL amounts from the source to reflect for this new account. If there is anyone who can provide any form of help- i will be greatly appreciative, thanks

    Neetu,
There are two ways to handle this, you could choose User defined CoA when you create the company and then import the legacy CoA.
Otherwise if you use the Standard CoA for your localization then mapping is more of a task for the accounting department rather than anything else?

  • GL Group Account customizations - alpha-num range in "natural" segment

    OBIEE 11g
    BIA 7.9.6.3
    EBS 12.1.3
Trying to configure custom GL Group Accounts per the BIA documentation and not all of our custom groups are being populated in w_gl_group_account_d. Basically none of the out of the box group numbers are meaningful to us, so we configured the 3 csv files with 29 custom group accounts - only 10 are being populated in the group account table, and I am still looking for the relevant log file to determine why only the 10 (a few of them do have alpha-numeric values).
Chart of accounts is 9 segments. Segment 4 ("Category") is set up in EBS as the "natural" segment - however, it has both numeric and alpha-numeric values, i.e.:
    101,140,140,FED REV
    101,199,199,FED REV
    101,F101,F108,FED REV
    101,F110,F115,FED REV
    101,212,212,FIXED CHARGES
    101,213,213,FOOD SRVC
    101,203,203,INSTR
    101,B120,B142,LOC REV
Question 1: Will mapping non-numeric ranges in the file_group_acct_codes csv file even work? Has anyone done this successfully?
Question 2: If it is not possible to use alpha-numeric ranges in this csv file, that forces us to use another gl segment - will using another segment that is not set up as the "natural" segment in EBS work? Segment 7 ("Object") is numeric, and can also be mapped to custom gl group names.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
    Rhonda

As it turns out, the main problem we had was that the account ranges have leading zeros, and those leading zeros got stripped when the csv files were opened in Excel then saved to the server. The account ranges now look like this:
    101,0140,0140,FED REV
    101,0199,0199,FED REV
    101,F101,F108,FED REV
    101,F110,F115,FED REV
    101,0212,0212,FIXED CHARGES
    101,0213,0213,FOOD SRVC
    101,0203,0203,INSTR
    101,B120,B142,LOC REV
After re-running a full load it looks like things are populated correctly in both the dim and fact tables. We are still in the process of verifying that the alpha-numeric codes are working properly but at first glance it appears so.
I'd still like to know the answer to my second question though, whether you can map gl account nums to a segment that is not the "natural" segment in EBS.
    Thanks for the assistance.

  • Group Account Configuration - OBIA 11.1.1.7.1

    Hello,
I am setting up Financial Analytics OBIA 11.1.1.7.1, have following questions regarding group account code setup
    1. Should we always use Natural Account Segment for mapping to Group Account Codes? I could see a customer is using different segment (Sub Account) to classify their accounts to various categories. Should we use combination of Natural Account and Sub Account to classify them in to various Oracle supplied group account numbers?
2.If i have to go with multiple segments for group account configuration, i could n't see a technical note from oracle support for OBIA 11.1.1.7.1 where ETL tool is ODI. Can we customize ODI using the technote available for Informatica based OBIA 7964 tech note? Are there any changes to apply on top of it?
    Thanks
    Venkat G

    Hi,
Thanks for reply. We've multiple COAs(Three Companies with seperate COA) Also with in one COA natural Account is dependend on Sub GL Segment and Cost Center. In "file_group_acct_codes_ora" file we only map Natural Accounts. Now if we map only Natural Accounts to Group Account Number it will pull all data. e.g. Natural Account 123,Cost Center A and Sub GL Account 1 should be mapped to Cash. if we map 123 to Cash it will pull all data for all Sub GL Accounts and Cost Centers. Please let me know if you need more clarification.
