GL account not to be valued in year end foreign currency revaluation

Hi
I have given payments in USD from my INR bank account. In year end valuation, that account should not be revalued since it is in INR.
so i am putting tick in "Only balance in local currency" in FS00.
Inspite of the tick, that GL account is revalued in FAGL_FC_VAL. Let me know how to prevent the valuation for the same.

There is no exchange revaluation key in the GL account control data section. Infact the field is supressed in FS00

  • Does Foreign Currency Revaluation Post to an Account which is Open Item Man

    Hi,
When running the FC revaluation, it is not posting to an account which is Open Item managed.
I have read somewhere that FC Reval. does not post to accounts which are OI managed or the Recon accounts.
Is this correct? If yes, what are the option for posting to an account which is OI managed?

    Hello Deepak,
In FAGL_FC_VAL,the flag of revferse postings is only for "G/L account Balance valuation", not for open line items account(OPLA). and addition. and for  OPLA, the system was desiged to post reversal document Auto.
In case in your countries you are not allowed to reverse year-end foreign
currency valuation postings in the following year, pls. using the Delta Logic Foreign Currency Valuation, for the details pls. refer to note:960661.
Hope the above informations are useful to you!

  • Foreign currency revaluation using  customer or vendor accounts

    Dear friends,
I am new to the forum and I wonder whether there is a foreign currency revaluation procedure (besides SAPF100) which can generate revaluation postings using customer or vendor accounts directly, instead of G/L accounts.
Supposedly for example, we had a customer Denmark National  Bank, with id  400006A, and this account had a  debit  balance of  10000,00 EUR – local currency, which would be 750000,00 DKK – foreign currency (if for instance, the original rate was  7,50 DKK / EUR).
At the time I run FC valuation for customer 400006A, the currency rate could be for example 8,00 DKK/EUR.
Thus, the new LC amount that arises after valuation : 9375,00 EUR (which is 75000,00 DKK / 8,00).
In this way, I would have an amount loss of: 10000,00 – 9375,00 = 625,00 EUR.
Then, if we were to apply such customer valuation based on business area, we could probably have the following posting:
PKey   Bus. Area Account  FC amount (DKK) LC amount (EUR)
    17       0017    400006A  75000,00       10000,00
    04       0017    400006A  75000,00        9375,00
    40       0017 6910000000      0,00         625,00
In this way, customer 400006A is credited with an amount of 10000,00 EUR and balances out.
A new balance of 9375,00 EUR is created after valuation, and an amount  loss of  625,00 is posted to G/L Main Loss Account 6910000000 (or to a G/L profit account in case of  an amount gain).
Program SAPF100 works in a slightly different way, in the sense that it posts valuation differences in G/L accounts rather than to customer or vendor accounts directly in the way that was described above.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi Orestis,
I imagine this is correct, because for the vendors/customers, we have the reconciliation account. In the reconciliation account, we should record only the open and closed items (I can't see any process that would record foreign currency valuation differences in the reconciliation account).

  • Foreign currency revaluation for GR/IR account

    Hi Friends,
Need your help. My client is facing the below issue.
he is facing issue with transaction F.13 automatic clearing of GRIR account for company code XXXX.
The problem is that the system is reversing the Foreign exchange amount posted in December 2010 and posting it as realized Foreign Exchange, therefore GRIR account is not beeing valuated with USD convertion at the month end closing.
Could you please throw some light on this issue
    Thanks N regards,

I think there is some issue with the process, normally vendor/customer reconciliation account or some liability assets related account which has impact due to foreign currency rate changes needs to be revaluated. I don't understand why you have set up foreign currency valuation for GR/IR account, these are intermediatory account which reflects in system between for example GR and IR.
I also think that you need more information on foreign currency valuation, basically it happens on a particular key date and gets reversed on key date + 1, because revaluation is only required on a key date for reporting purposes. on the next day it get reversed and actual loss or profit on foreign currency only gets booked on realization.
    Hope this helps!!!

  • Issue with GL Account creation leading to problem in Year end Carry forward

    Dear Sirs,
I am new to this network & this is my first thread .
We have one GL Account which had been created as Account Group as Fixed Assets and ticked wrongly as P&L Statement Acct, instead of Balance Sheet Account.
There are some entries posted in this GL Account . When doing the Balance Carryforward process , the system is considering the balance in this GL to be transferred to Retained Earnings being wrongly defined as P&L Statement Account.
Infact this balance should not be flown to Retained Earnings and should be carryforward to new fiscal year as Balance Sheet Account.
Is there any way of changing GL account from P&L Statement Account to Balance Sheet Account even after entries are posted in GL and also cost element is created for that GL.
Please guide us to come out the issue.
Looking eagerly for your kind guidance and helpful reply.
    Regards,

    Panasonic - Dubai

    Hi Umapati,
    Welcome to SDN.
Well the easy way would be to create a new GL account as B/S item transfer the line items to that account and block the wronly created account. Then you can perform B/F in new account
Alternatively: You can change the tick from P/L to B/S in the change mode, but first you must delete cost element assigned to that G/L account in KA04.
But this is not advised as it will create audit issue as you are using number assigned to P/L to B/S item.
    Hope this helps
Pls assign points as way to say thanks

  • Foreign Currency Revaluation for GR/IR Account problem

    Hi all,
    - SAPF100 programme was run for Dec 08 for GR/IR Account
    - But when I run FBL3N for open items to Dec 08 for the GR/IR account and do a reconciliation between the two there seems to be a number of line items that have not been revaluated at all....can anyone help me in explaining this or can some one help me by sending me some good ideas on how I can investigate further and resolve...any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks-
    Shem

Check the table T030H to see the current settings for Currency reval for GR/IR account - Check the account # mentioned in the Unrealized Gains/Loss field besides the offsetting account. Based on your definition, it looks like the offsetting account is not the same as the GR/IR account. Check the postings made in the offsetting account, and you can see the entries, created by reval over there.

  • Foreign currency revaluation not reversed

    Hello,
We have a situation where we run FAGL_FC_VAL, the reversal check is marked, and all postings and reversals happen successfully for all accounts, except for one. For this account, the posting is ok, but the reversal entry does not occur. Does anyone know why this would happen?
    Thank you.

  • Display extra values not displaying extra value

    Hi,
I have a SQL query that returns a LOV. I have "Display Extra Values" set to Yes. However, I don't see my "extra value" in the Select List. ?? Yet, when I check the session state, the value in the session state is the extra value. So how come I don't see it in my Select List?
    Thank you.

This is from the on-line docs:
To define a value that does not display in the list of values:
    a) From Display Extra Value, select Yes.
The extra value is used if the actual column value is not part of the LOV. In that situation, the actual value is shown. If you do not display extra values, you may end up with the wrong value and unintentionally update your data incorrectly.
    b) In Null Value, specify the value that displays.
    c) If you have not selected a Named LOV, enter the query used to display a select list in the LOV Query field.
    Hope that helps.
    Thanks,
    Joe

  • Foreign Currency valuation at Year End

We have a number of Imprest cash accounts in Foreign Currency. The currency balances have to be revaluated at the Exchange rate prevalent on March 31.
Can someone please let me know the configuration process & related t-codes.
Correct answers will be rewarded points.

    Hi,
currency revaluation can be managed with TA F.05 (TAB GL-Balances/Valute GL-Balances and enter the account(s)).
Just check  whether it's usefull for you, test with valuation method KTO and a single account.
You can define your own valuation method for currency revaluation (IMG Financials - General ledger accounting  - Closing - Valuate - Foreign currency revaluation.
Currency revaluation works in my experience excelllent...

  • Posting in foreign currency not allowed for external tax system

    Hello all,
I created a purchase order for inter-company stock transfer. Then created a corresponding outbound delivery and goods issue using  VL10h and completed goods issue. Then I completed good receipt using MIGO. When I was trying to create a sales order I got this message "Posting in foreign currency not allowed for external tax system". What could be the reasons for this message.  The message number said FS885.
One final note. I am able to create Billing document with manual batch number input in Delivery document item. But when I am using Batch split I am not able to generate invoice. Can anyone tell me what could be the problem here.

    Hi Samir,
The Goods Received NI (Allocation Cost Account) need to be balaned in Local and System Currency as this is a Multi Currency account and these are the currencies that Business One will offer reports in.
The Foreign Currency for this account is irrelevant as you can never get a balance in FC for a multi currency account, neither will you find any reports for this.
If the client insists you can create a manual Journal entry in FC only to correct this. Business One does not offer any functionality to correct the Foreign Currency in this scenario. (like Exchange Rate difference for Local Currency and Conversion Differences for System Currency)
To do the manual JE open the form settings and the tab 'table', here untick the box 'From FC Field'. This will enable you to create a FC JE only.
    Hope it clarifies the issue.
