gaurav_k1Hi
u can solve your single instance problem like this
in your class declare your constructor to be private.
create a static method (factory method)in which this private constructor is called.
and from this method return that object.
now to restrict the class from having more than one instances declare a static integer variable,initiallize it with value 0.
in your factory method check the value of this variable,
if its 0 create an instance and increment the integer variable to 1.
if its 1 return null.
this will restrict your class.
hope a part of ur problem is solved.

  • Is it possible to intialize a text item with Global Variable

    Hi,
    I have forms10g, I want to initialize text item with current hour for this purpose I have defined one global variable and initialize text item(for hour) with this global variable.
    Defination of global variable
    :GLOBAL.my_var := TO_CHAR(sysdate,'hh24');
    Initial Value of form text item as
    :Global.my_var
    but when I run the form it raise error " ORA-01403 no data found " error
    I already check this global variable intialize properly with the current hour.
    Thanks and Regards.

    Thanks for reply, but when I removed initial value property of text item from Global variable to other or Null form starts running, I have one Poplist and it populate with a procedure at form startup I remove it but no success.

  • Can F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST FM return a value in a global variable?

    Hi everybody,
    I need to use F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST FM because I have to let users select an specific option before choosing another value. The point is that I need to save in a program global variable what the user selects, and decide something with it in the program.
    Is it possible that F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST FM returns the value in a sinple variable or it has to be paramter?
    I look in a lot of previous threads but I didn't find anything, and I don't know if it's possible.
    Thanks and kind regards,
    MMP.

    Hi,
    Sure you can. All you need to do is to store what the function returns in your global variable. It don't need to be returned back to screen field.
    DATA: BEGIN OF VALUES OCCURS 0,
             CARRID TYPE SPFLI-CARRID,
             CONNID TYPE SPFLI-CONNID,
           END OF VALUES.
    DATA: VALUES_TAB TYPE TABLE OF VALUES,
              G_VALUE TYPE SPFLI-CONNID.  "global variable to store what is returned
    "in PAI first populate your table
      SELECT  CARRID CONNID
        FROM  SPFLI
        INTO  CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE VALUES_TAB
        UP TO 10 ROWS.
    "then call the function but don't return the value to screen field
    "If you specify the import parameters DYNPPROG, DYNPNR, and DYNPROFIELD, the useru2019s selection is
    "returned to the corresponding field on the screen. If you specify the table parameter RETURN_TAB, the
    "selection is returned into the table instead.
    CALL FUNCTION 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'
           EXPORTING
                RETFIELD         = 'CONNID'
                VALUE_ORG        = 'S'
           TABLES
                VALUE_TAB        = VALUES_TAB
                RETURN_TAB      = RETURN_TAB.
    "now simply read first row of return tab and store the value returned there in some global var
    READ RETURN_TAB INDEX 1.
    MOVE RETURN_TAB-FIELDVAL TO G_VALUE.

  • How can I pass a value field to a global variable?

    I have a doubt,
    I wnat to know if is possible to pass a value field to a global variable inside of DataFlow?
    That a try to do is at the time to execute a JOB on line (real time), depending of the value field that i receive, only certain DATAFLOWS will be executed  depending of the value field.
    I hope you can help me.
    Kind regards!!!

    It can be done via various ways, your approach is kind of odd, though.
    You are saying you have one kind if Input message, depending on the flag you want to do different transformations. The way you envision that is by loading that flag into a global variable and use different dataflows then.
    Can you use different dataflows within one Realtime Job? Yes, usually the first loads an in-memory datastore.
    Can you write into a global variable? Yes and No. Not directly, but you can write the value into e.g. a database and using the sql() function read it from there. But why would you. You could write it into the in-memory datastore. And then you run your n dataflows, each has a filter. So only one of these dataflows will actually process the data.
    Are there other approaches? I would have a Case transform at the beginning and route the data into different queries depending on the data. So all in one dataflow. Your approach is fine for a batch dataflow where a dataflow is started, does something and then ends. But that's not how it works in Realtime!

  • How can I access global variables in a loaded Applescript?

    How can I access global variables in a loaded script, in Xcode, ApplescriptObjC? Basically, I have a global variable defined in my parent script using "property", and I need to modify objects connected to those variables inside of a loaded script.
    Example:
    Parent script:
    script AppDelegate
    property myTextField : missing value
    //linked to a text field object
    tell myScript to myAwesomeHandler_()
    end script
    Loaded script:
    on myAwesomeHandler_()
    myTextField's setStringValue_("The new Xcode is so glitchy ugh")
    //changes value of linked text field of parent script
    end myAwesomeHandler_
    The problem is, the variable is undefined in the Loaded script, and I need it to have the same value as the parent script, and I don't want to pass the variable through the Handler. Any ideas?

    I think want you are looking to do will need to be done in two steps. Because myTextField needs to be a property for the ObjectiveC part of the code you cannot turn it into a global.
    However if you make a temporary variable global assign the string to it in the handler then set myTextField off of it.
    global myTextFieldGlobal
    script AppDelegate
    property myTextField : missing value
    //linked to a text field object
    tell myScript to myAwesomeHandler_()
    myTextField's setStringValue_(myTextFieldGlobal)
    end script
    on myAwesomeHandler_()
    set myTextFieldGlobal to "The new Xcode is so glitchy ugh"
    //changes value of linked text field of parent script
    end myAwesomeHandler_
    I know you stated you did not want the handler to return a value but I have to ask why? Global's, imo, are not a good idea and really should be used as a last resort.
    One other possibility is to pass a reference to the property to the handler. Not sure if that works in AS of if that would satisfy our requirement of not passing the variable through the handler
    <edit>
    Another though have you tried to define the property outside the script?  That is
    property myTextField : missing value
    script AppDelegate
    Not sure if that will work.

  • How to modify global variable in a function?

    Hello,
    I want to modify a globalvariable in a function, at first I did it this way:
    class Global_output_class
    GlobalDim("Correlation_Status,fail_part,End_Exp")
    dim pouet
    Correlation_Status = 12
    Call Correlation()
    pouet = Correlation_Status
    Function Correlation()
    Dim Global_output_class_sub
    Set Global_output_class_sub = new Global_output_class
    Correlation_Status = 1
    fail_part = 2
    End_Exp = 3
    Global_output_class_sub.CorrelationStatus = Correlation_Status
    Global_output_class_sub.failpart = fail_part
    Global_output_class_sub.EndExp = End_Exp
    set Correlation = Global_output_class_sub
    End function
    In this case: correlation_status receive the value 12, then I go to my function correlationn() where it became 1
    Then it goes out of the subfunction and takes the previous value from the program(12) ( I dont want that)
    To solve the problem I made it this way:
    class Global_output_class
    public CorrelationStatus
    public failpart
    public EndExp
    end class
    GlobalDim("Correlation_Status,fail_part,End_Exp")
    Correlation_Status = 12
    Set Global_Output = Correlation()
    Correlation_Status = Global_Output.CorrelationStatus
    fail_part = Global_Output.failpart
    End_Exp = Global_Output.EndExp
    pouet = Correlation_Status
    Function Correlation()
    Dim Global_output_class_sub
    Set Global_output_class_sub = new Global_output_class
    Correlation_Status = 1
    fail_part = 2
    End_Exp = 3
    Global_output_class_sub.CorrelationStatus = Correlation_Status
    Global_output_class_sub.failpart = fail_part
    Global_output_class_sub.EndExp = End_Exp
    set Correlation = Global_output_class_sub
    End function
    This way my global value are recopied in themselves after leaving the subprogram
    I got a lot of variables, is there any easier way so the global variable modified in a function keep the value after leaving the function?
    Thanks for help,
    Fred

    Hi Fred,
    it is possible to use a global defined variable but the better way is to use to use a funtion call (or procedure call) with parameters. Please find first the good solution for a funcion call with parameter and the sub-optimal way with an global valiable:
    dim oParameter
    set oParameter = new cGlobal_output_class
    oParameter.Correlation_Status = 12
    msgbox "Correlation_Status before Call Correlation: " & oParameter.Correlation_Status
    Call Correlation(oParameter)
    msgbox "Correlation_Status after Call Correlation: " & oParameter.Correlation_Status
    Function Correlation(oPara)
    msgbox "Correlation_Status in the FUNCTION before change: " & oPara.Correlation_Status
    oPara.Correlation_Status = 1
    oPara.fail_part = 2
    oPara.End_Exp = 3
    msgbox "Correlation_Status in the FUNCTION after change: " & oPara.Correlation_Status
    End function
    class cGlobal_output_class
    dim Correlation_Status,fail_part,End_Exp
    end class
    call GlobalDim("oPouet")
    dim oPouet
    set oPouet = new cGlobal_output_class
    oPouet.Correlation_Status = 12
    msgbox "Correlation_Status before Call Correlation: " & oPouet.Correlation_Status
    Call Correlation()
    msgbox "Correlation_Status before Call Correlation: " & oPouet.Correlation_Status
    Function Correlation()
    msgbox "Correlation_Status in the FUNCTION before change: " & oPouet.Correlation_Status
    oPouet.Correlation_Status = 1
    oPouet.fail_part = 2
    oPouet.End_Exp = 3
    msgbox "Correlation_Status in the FUNCTION after change: " & oPouet.Correlation_Status
    End function
    class cGlobal_output_class
    dim Correlation_Status,fail_part,End_Exp
    end class

  • What is the best way to retrive data from a Global Variable?

    Here is what I want to do,
    I have several PC's that run different types of tests. I want to use a global variable, running on a single PC, that acts like a sever that can be accessed by the other PC's in my lab. This Global variable will store the hostnames of the different PC's that are currently running each test, along with a description of the test.  Then, a user can access this Global variable to read the different values and select the PC and connect to it's desktop using Remote Desktop in Windows.
    Is it possible to write data to the Global variable that is running on the single PC?
    What is the best way to do this? Does anyone have a sample VI?
    What is the best way to then read the data from the Global variable?
    (I will probably use an array\cluster to store the hostnames.)

    Another pre-LV8 idea...
    A functional global can be accessed using VI-Server and called using "call by reference".
    This approach harnesses the TCP functionality built into the VI-Server to manage the conncetion.
    This can be pretty quick and (if the functional global is written correctly) will support buffered- mixed data types. (Try to do that with the Shared Variable  ).

  • Call function in LabView from a DLL, then access global variable from DLL

    I have created a DLL in LabWindows with a function and a structure.  I want to call the function from within LabView and then access the global structure.  I am able to call the function from the DLL with a "Call Library Function Node" and can access the return value, but I cannot figure out how to access the global structure.  The structure is declared in the DLL header file with __declspec(dllimport) struct parameters.
    Is there any way of accessing this structure without using the Network Variable Library?

    When you say "access to" or "the address of" the global variable, do you mean to pass the variable as an argument to the function call in the DLL?  If so, then I was not really sure how to pass a cluster from LabView by using the "Call Library Function Node".
    Yes, that's exactly right.  I would include a pair of helper functions in the DLL to read and write the global variable.  Alternatively you might write separate helper functions for each field inside the global structure, depending on the number of fields and whether you want to do any validation on the values.
    You can pass a cluster by reference to a function that expects a struct by setting the parameter to Adapt to Type, so long as the cluster does not contain any variable-length elements (strings or arrays).  The cluster needs to match the struct exactly, and sometimes that involves adding extra padding bytes to make the alignment work.  Variable-length elements in LabVIEW need to be converted to clusters containing the same number of elements as the struct definition (for example, if your struct contains char name[12], you would create a cluster of 8 U8 values, and you could use String to Array of Bytes followed by Array to Cluster to convert a LabVIEW string into that format).  If the struct contains pointers it gets more complicated, and it may be easier to write functions in the DLL to access those specific elements individually.
    If you can't get this working or need help, post your code and an explanation of the error or problem you're seeing.
    EDIT: it is also possible to include a single function in the DLL that returns the address of the global variable, which LabVIEW can then use to access and modify the data, but that's more complicated and likely to lead to crashes if you don't get the memory addressing exactly right.

  • How to declare a global variable from a PL/SQL package

    Hi All,
    Using a global variable is a bad practise for all language. However, in my case, I have a PL/SQL package defines all constants, and I want to use them directly via SQL statement, for instance,
    PACKAGE my_const
    IS
         DEFAULT_ZIP_CODE CONSTANT VARCHAR2(5) := '00000';
    END;And I cannot referrence this variable from my select statement as
    SELECT my_const.DEFAULT_ZIP_CODE from dual;I have to create a function via my package, as,
    FUNCTION get_default_zip_code RETURN VARCHAR2
    IS
    BEGIN
         RETURN DEFAULT_ZIP_CODE;
    END;and
    SELECT my_const.get_default_zip_code from dual;I don't want to create functions to referrence the default varaibles. Does anyone have any clues?
    thanks

    thanks for the info. Your scope explanation makes sense even though it is not intuitive to me. I think the usage of package variables should be supported by SQL (they're just values to be copied) Maybe look at it from another language's perspective. You want to use a global PL package variable in Java/C#/Delphi/VB/etc. How would you do it?
    None of these languages can crack open the data segment of a PL code unit, inspect the variables in it, and extract a value from it. Instead, it needs to be done as follows:
    Using sqlplus as the client illustrates how all these languages will need to do it:
    SQL> var value varchar2(20);
    SQL> begin
      2>     :value := SomePackage.someVar;
      3> end;
      4> /So why should SQL behave differently? It is not the same as the PL language. It is not a subset of the PL language. Yeah, PL/SQL blurs the line between these 2 languages making it very simple for us to mix their source code. But PL/SQL is SQL integrated with PL - not PL integrated with SQL. PL has tight hooks into SQL, creating cursors for you, defining bind variables, binding variables and doing the whole Oracle Call Interface bit for you.
    But SQL has no need for PL code, just as it has no need for Java code, or Delphi code or VB code. Yes, it is possible for it to call Java stored procs. As it is possible for it to call PL procs. But these are via the formal call interface of those languages - not via tight integration hooks that blur the languages and make SQL and Java, or SQL and PL, look like a single integrated source code unit.
    Thus SQL has the pretty much the same constraints in calling the PL language as other languages do. What SQL can do is use the PL engine's call interface and tell it "+execute this function and return the result of the function+".

  • Access global variable in fpga from rt-target

    Hi All,
    I have a realtime PC with NI-FPGA 7852R.
    Generally I used programmatic front panel communication to access variables from FPGA to rt-system since I need the data for control and not for data logging.
    The thing is, I bumped into a tutorial and suggested me to use global variables to save resources of your FPGA. My question is, is it possible to access global variable that belongs to FPGA from rt-system? As far as I tried, this does not seem possible.

  • Global variable in ADF

    Hi everyone!
    I am a newbie to ADF and i have a trouble about using a global variables in ADF.
    I have a managed bean which initializes manually one time and i want to access its instance from any place of the package.
    Is it possible? What's the best practice in this case?
    Thanks in advance.

    If this is a variable for the View layer you can set your managed bean scope to be either application or session (depending on what life span you want the value to have)

  • Global variable in a package

    Hi,
    Can anyone tell me if this is possible?
    I have a table with some control values in it and want to be able to access some of these values in a package.
    In the spec of my package I want to be able to set a global variable for the value of a specific record.
    i.e. I want to be able to say something like:
    glo_value_1 := (select value_col from control_table where id_col = 1);
    I'm trying to avoid just creating a cursor that I will have to open/fetch/close for every procedure and function in my package. I'd like to be able to just set the value in the specification so that I can just refer to it as glo_value_1.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Yog

    Well there is no support for scalar subquery in PL/SQL (in-line SELECT) but you could of course write a function to geth the control value based on it's id and assign the result of the function to the global, something like...
    glo_value_1 := control_value_function (1);

  • Global variable in a Table

    Hi!
    Can i use any column in a table as a global variable? Is it at all possible in Any version of Oracle? I know that if we use package - we can create a global a variable there. If u had any knowledge pls reply.
    Satyaki.

    Hi Satyaki,
    Try to understand the difference between a variable and coumn of the table.
    What exactly you need a global variable for the application or own Datatype for a table?
    If you requirement is variable then use Package without body or type object. But if your requirement is your own datatype use TYPE in the table.
