GPO vs. Eastwest Silver

I'm looking to get a decent (but cheap) orchestral sample library. I've had some experience with Garritan Personal Orchestra, but I've heard that Eastwest in general makes better sounds. As GPO and Eastwest Silver are roughly in the same price range, I'm interested to know how they compare to each other. Does anyone have experience with both of these libraries?
It appears, from the description, that EW has more articulations per instrument than GPO, which is important--but how do they sound? I think I'm leaning towards EW right now, especially given the fact that later on I could upgrade to Gold or Platinum. My only hesitation is that I've only heard demos of EW, whereas I've used GPO a bunch of times, so I'm very familiar with it. Any info would be appreciated.
Also, if you have any other suggestions of libraries in that price range, I'd appreciate those as well. Thanks.

hi again,
unfortunately, all the good cheap ones are gone now, unless some retailer still has stock.
the horizon series - EXS - is discontinued.
what i can say is: vsl have it down, and are an investment.
other libs are not, as much.
once you sus the clean sound you'll realise why they've done it that way.
as to their libs?
sonivoxmi (boston symphony) are very highly rated.
vsl, atm, not as much.
with vsl, you are paying for the sublety in articulations. other libs don't have as many.
i like their design concept.
you just need state of the art to run it, that's all.

  • Controlling Individual Volumes in EASTWEST Silver Plugin

    In Logic Pro 7, how can I get the mod wheel to control the volume of individual instruments within the EASTWEST Silver plugin? Right now I'm having to create multiple instances of the plugin for each instrument. Would like to get away from that (obviously). I see there is a controller assignments page under Preferences/Control Surfaces, but I don't understand how it works.

    Thanks Victoria, here you go.
    SSD is my root volume (most people would have "Macintosh HD" instead), so that is where /Users/… resides: so for example my home folder is at /Users/dave which is the same as /Volumes/SSD/Users/dave. You can see that saving from PS has made LR think I have image folders at /Users/… when I do not, and never have. You can see below "SSD" is the volume "Users" where the real image folders live (an external Firewire drive in this case).
    I have expanded "Show Parent" to the root of each volume in that screenshot.
    So under SSD, "/Users/Lightroom Photos 2/…" is bogus and under Users "Lightroom Photos 2" is legitimate.

  • Silver graph performance (apparent serious 2011 flaw)

    I noticed that cpu usage was quite high for some VIs and ended up finding out with simple comparison benchmarks (using performance and memory test) that a VI with the new silver graph runs about 25 times slower than a vi with the old, uh, modern graph at default graph size.  For a graph widened to cover a wide screen, it decreased to about 190 times slower, a horrible crawl.  For the test I just generated random numbers put into a 2000 element 1D array to be graphed (couldn't attach the test VIs for some reason).
    The silver graph looks nice, but what in the world is going on here?

  • GPO with a startup script is not working.

    I have a GPO that I have added a ".bat" script to the "Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\scripts\startup/shutdown" section. The batch file is located in the netlogon folder. This script was part of another Old GPO
    that I want to consolidate into this new GPO. So I am taking the exact settings from the old GPO and  applying it to the new GPO.
    The script does not run at startup and when I go into Group Policy Management, highlight the GPO then on the right pane click the settings tab it doesn't display the startup script as being set. It's just not there. If I select edit and go to the
    "Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\scripts\startup/shutdown\startup" section the .bat script is present though.
    Also if I do a gpresult it also shows that it isn't running the script but all other settings in the GPO are being applied.
    This GPO has the User Config. side disabled
    Why isn't the GPO applying the script or even acknowledging that it is present in the settings tab?

    Hi,
    I could not see any report in the above link. I would like to know that did you follow the below path:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd630947.aspx
    In addition, logon script could only be applied to users. If want to apply to computers, we should use startup script.

  • How to install Adobe Pro through GPO?

    I currently install several pieces of software for our users through Group Policy, and would like to do the same with Adobe Pro for specific computers.  I created a AD group that has the machines I want Adobe installed.  I have the install files, and our license key, and ran msiexec /a AcroPro.msi and picked a folder to store the install too.
    But when I boot up one of these machines, it "seems" like it goes through the process, but when I log in, I don't see any evidence that Acrobat Pro has been installed.
    I've noticed that if I run the MSI manually it asks me which program should be default, Reader or Pro...... is this causing a problem when installing through the GPO?
    What's the best way to proceed with this?????  I went through the procedures listed http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/pdfs/gpo_ad_9.pdf but am still having problems.....
    Thanks.

    The cause of problem is something else.
    If you have reader installed on your machine and then if you deploy Acrobat via GPO then Acrobat would get installed and also become the default application for viewing PDF files.
    How are you specifying the serial number while deploying via GPO?

  • Unable to apply GPO on 209 clients (RPC Issues)

    I am in the process of cross forest DC migration with an environment of 400 users, first I have configured the GPO to add the dns suffix search domains to the
    current clients of the old domain however upon applying policy I get The RPC server is unavailable or RPC was cancelled or access denied sometimes.
    I have checked the domains (4) health , replication and all looks very well.
    I connected to one of the clients that has an issue to make sure these clients are joined to the domain and using the proper DNS list. then checked if the domain
    has the correct hostname as it appears in the domain and everything looked fine.
    I disabled Kaspersky firewall on the client and disabled Windows firewall client but still the same issue occur .
    When trying to connect to any of these clients with hostname to browse to the C$ folder it gives an error, I also tried with the FQDN and had the same problem

    I checked the RPC service, Computer browser service to see if they are running and they were running.
    I am attaching screenshots of the GPO policy and the error that appears when trying to browse to the client folder C$ with hostname or fqdn.
    I have tried the following but it didn't fix anything.. I hope someone could help point me out to the right direction
    Checked DNS (Servers and clients)
    Checked relative services (Netbios, RPC, Computer browser ..etc)
    Checked firewall (Kaspersky and windows) and closed them both.
    Checked connected DC on clients and pointed clients to different DCs  to check if it'll solve the problem.
    Checking DCs replication and health using DCdiag /v
    Ran nltest.exe /sc_verify:domain.local and returned success ...
    I am attaching

    This computer was not able to setup secure session with a domain controller in domain domain.local due to the folliowing "there are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.
    The weird thing is that the client have no issues and can logon to his computer which is a domain member without any issues.
    thanks

    Hi Vivian,
    I found the problem, it was due to duplicated hostnames on the DNS for all these problematic clients! The DNS scavenging seems it's not working .. I would appreciate if you could assist me on how to troubleshoot the scavenging.
    I have already applied the following checks
    1- Checked the refresh and no refresh interval (both were 7 days and I changed them to 1 hour)
    2- Restarted DNS.
    3- Set DNS to automatic scavenging of stale records.
    Still no sign of items are being deleted?
    I would appreciate your help

  • Deploying Adobe Creative Cloud via GPO

    A few months ago my long and lasting journey with Adobe CC started and I was pretty eager to deploy the software in our enterprise. As it comes out, with a little help from Adobe, that just made me crazy and a few pretty pointless and sensless tests I finally managed it somehow to get Adobe CC deployment via GPO. None of our users have local admin rights due to restrictive policy in our enterprise. All testing and configuration was made on Windows 7 Enterprise (x86 and x64) machines.
    As we don't use SCCM in our environment it was critical to use "simple" GPO rollout for software. As there are MSI's with all the packages I started my journey...
    To start it all of:
    As it seems, you cannot buy licenses any more permanent and you can buy them via subscription. OK, that's one way to go and since we need all these products in future we went in evaluating it. Since we cannot buy licenses in a big order like adobe wants us to we were only left to buy the creative cloud for teams and not for enterprise. Still, this was fine to, since adobe offered the cloud packager and a lot of documentation, i thought at least.
    To test and make sure that we can deploy all of the wanted features of creative cloud we bought 2 licenses for the IT-staff. During testing, late semptember/october 2014, with the cloud packager in version 1.6 I was able to deploy the packages and software as we wanted. Just as information, we wanted our users to have Bridge, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamveawer, Prelude and the most important thing, we did NOT want the creative cloud desktop application due to company restrictions. Well as mentioned before everything worked as charm and I was just happy to start ordering the licenses for all of our users and get things done
    Well, as a lot surely know, the process of ordering the licenses and getting things rolling in a enterprise sometimes takes a little (more) time. After about one or two months later everything was ready and set and I was feeling like this is going to be a piece of cake. Make new packages with the cloud packager, create the gpo's, test the deployment, invite the users and I'm the king of the jungle.
    That was what I thought...
    Adobe was so nice to release the newer and more improved version (I think 1.7 or 1.8) of the cloud packager, that suddenly hasn't been able to deactivate the creative cloud desktop application. Well, not a problem I thought to myself, I'll just uninstall it later on and it's fine. Since there are about 20 users that were getting the software it would be a not so nice job, but once done it's done and it shouldn't happen again.
    Then i was hit by Adobe with a colossal fist right in the face! Why are you asking? Well as I mentioned above, the deployment via GPO worked fine and now? Not anymore, since the exception deployer couldn't install the applications it just broke everything and didn't even try to install the other applications that don't need the exception deployer. After a few e-mails and further testing, run as local admin, run installation after being copied to local, I lost fate that this is ever going to work.
    Adobe gave me the best help they could and I even had a deployment expert in on a web session and he gave me a short commandlet (exception deployer) and said that it has to work this way but surprise, it didn't. As I was getting more and more frustrated by this situation and the exception deployer I started to shrink down the packages as much as possible so that there are no applications that needed to be deployed with the exception deployer. I run tests and guess what? It worked! Man, was I happy that after almost a month things started getting in the right shape. As I couldn't sleep because of this mess I started testing the applications that Adobe techs said needed the exception deployer. I created a new package just for Lightroom 5 (yeah, I know there is a newer version out now, but not at that moment) and saw that it landed in this exception folder that is made during packaging with the cloud packager. I was just curious to test it and made a new GPO for just Lightroom, as a MSI was also within the package I figured, why not give it a try? It worked again!?! I was pretty surprised due to the information that it shouldn't be working, as Adobe techs stated.
    The simpler problem was the creative cloud desktop application. After having the Adobe techs in on a websession they stated, that it should work if I choose enterprise licensing to get rid of this software. But due to Adobe's updating policy of the creative cloud packager, there has been a newer version released (1.9) that opted out this feature to deactivate the installation of the creative cloud desktop application. I thought myself, why? Just please tell us why Adobe do we need this? But OK, there was also a solutions for this problem, the adobe creative cloud cleaning tool. If you create and XML file that is being read from the cleaning tool you can run this and "almost silently" uninstall the software via GPO. I gave it a shot and it works like a charm.
    To be honest I thought, that Adobe due to it's status as THE software company when it comes to creating/editing multimedia content they would know about the problems some of their customers across the globe could be having. As it seems, they don't care enough or haven't ever had somebody with a similar problem(what I cannot believe, but all right) to share some more detailed information about a case like this.
    I know, why have we bought it, if we don't need any cloud space? Well it's simple, Adobe creative products are needed and the CS6 products won't be here forever so it's better to start sooner than later with migration to a newer release. Still I was hoping to get more help from Adobe....
    Just to share the packages with you:
    "Complete 32Bit" package includes: Audition CS6+Updates, Bridge CC, Dreamweaver CC 2014.1, Edge Animate CC 2014, Fireworks CS6, Illustrator CC 2014, Incopy CC 2014, InDesign CC 2014, Photoshop CC 2014, Prelude CS6
    "Complete 64Bit" package includes: Audition CS6+Updates, Bridge CC, Dreamweaver CC 2014.1, Edge Animate CC 2014, Fireworks CS6, Illustrator CC 2014, Incopy CC 2014, InDesign CC 2014, Photoshop CC 2014, Prelude CS6, Premiere Pro CC 2014, SpeedGrade CC 2014
    "InDesign 32Bit" package includes: InDesign CC 2014
    "InDesign 64Bit" package includes: InDesign CC 2014
    "Lightroom 5 32Bit" package: Lightroom 5
    "Lightroom  5 64Bit" package: Lightroom 5
    None of these packages needed the exception deployer to be run. It was all tested on different (also different machine specs) 32bit and 64bit machines. The OS was always Windows 7 Enterprise.
    To uninstall the creative cloud desktop application i wrote a batch file:
    @ECHO OFF
    IF EXIST C:\log_adobe_cc_cleaner\*.* EXIT ## checks if this folder is existent. If not it continues. If there is the folder it stops and won't run again ##
    mkdir C:\temp_adobe_cc_cleaner ## creates a temp folder, as the uinstall tool can only be run locally ##
    xcopy \\your_server\your_share$\adobecc\adobecc-cleaner\*.* C:\temp_adobe_cc_cleaner\*.* /Y ## copies the complete content of the folder to the newly created local folder ##
    call "C:\temp_adobe_cc_cleaner\AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.exe" --cleanupXML=C:\temp_adobe_cc_cleaner\cleanup_desktop_app.xml
    xcopy "%Temp%\Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.log" "C:\log_adobe_cc_cleaner\*.*" /Y ## copies the log file to folder, creates the folder itself ##
    rmdir /q /s "C:\temp_adobe_cc_cleaner" ## removes the adobe creative cloud unintaller from local machine, leaves the log file folder for further check if the creative cloud uninstall tool needs to be rerun ##
    The XML file has following written:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Products>
    <Properties>
      <Property name="eulaAccepted">1</Property>
      <!--<Property name="removeFlashPlayer">1</Property>-->
    </Properties>
    <CreativeCloud>
      <Product productName="Adobe Creative Cloud" version="2.0"/>
      <!--<Product productName="Adobe ID CC2014 x32 AppBase" version="10.0"/>-->
    </CreativeCloud>
    <AdobeIdCredentials>
      <!--<Product productName="Adobe Id Credentials" version="1.0"/>-->
    </AdobeIdCredentials>
    </Products>
    Updating of the Adobe products is done with Secunia CSI in our enterprise, but there is also the posibility to remotely run the updatemanager.exe or via logon/logoff script.
    What I also found out, was the dependency of vcredist for adobe products. You need the 2010, 2012 of them and most importantly in the x86 and x64 version! In case you get a .DLL missing error.
    I hope this here helps someone who has lost a lot of nerves and a lot of time due to the deployment of Adobe creative cloud applications. I stil hope that there is going to be a better and easier way to deploy this.
    Excuse me for the bad english, good luck with your deployment and maybe we can get Adobe a bit smarter from our all experience to make us a good deployment method.

  • Lightroom Bug: with GoPro Hero4 Silver Lens Profile, crop settings do not sync properly in Lightroom 5.7.1 when Constrain To Warp is checked

    I was having a bit of difficultly in getting crop settings to properly sync in Lightroom 5.7.1 (running on OS X 10.10.1) when Constrain to Warp was checked.  This appears to be a bug in the latest version(s) of Lightroom that include(s) the GoPro Hero4 Silver Lens Profile settings.  I'm working with a lot of files from a GoPro Hero4 Silver camera shot in the time-lapse / interval timer mode.  All of them are horizontal with the same resolution (and dimensions).  I've tried various sequences to get this to work in terms of using Auto-Sync, resetting the settings on all images except one and then copy and pasting settings, etc, though the crop is not properly syncing regardless of what I do.
    Here's are instructions of how to duplicate this issue (there are some extra details/steps here, though this should be clear enough to produce the same result):
         1.  in the Develop settings for a single selected image, go to Lens Corrections, click to Enable Profile Corrections (in the Profile tab), and then pick the GoPro Hero4 Silver Edition (Adobe Profile) if it is not automatically chosen for you (if you are using files from a Hero4 Silver camera).  After this, click on the Manual tab, and set the Scale setting to 76.  (as you will see, you now have the full horizontal width of the image that was getting cropped off, though you do see white around the edges that have been warped/shaped to correct the fisheye distortion)
         2.  Press the R key (or click on the Crop Overlay tool just below the histogram).  Change the Aspect option to Custom.  Click to unlock the lock next to it (this seems to re-lock after setting to custom even if it was locked before).  Place a checkmark next to the Constrain To Warp option.  (At this point, you'll see the image gets cropped back to an approximately 4:3 ratio and the full horizontal width is not included in the cropped area)  Click the upper right most corner of the crop area and drag as much to the right and top as it lets you go.  Do the same for the lower left corner, dragging it as far to the bottom left as you can go.  (Now, you will see that your cropped area is the maximum rectangular width and height you can select without getting any of the excessive white area)  Click the Close button (or press R again) to leave the crop overlay tool.
         3.  Press G to go back to the grid of images.  Make sure the image you just adjusted the settings for is the only one selected.  Right click on it, go to Develop Settings, and click Copy Settings.  Click Check All on the window that appears and then click Copy.
         4.  De-select the image you were working on.  Select multiple other images in the grid.  Right click on one of these, go to Develop Settings, and click Paste Settings.  (at this point, you will see their aspect ratio has become more panoramic than the 4:3 aspect ratio the images previously were)
         5.  De-select these images.  Select one of these image, and then press D to go to the Develop settings for this image.  Press R to go to the Crop Overlay tool.  Here you will see the bug where the crop was not properly copied over from the first image.  The selected area is smaller than the full width and height available to crop.
    It seems that the bug is that Lightroom is only copying the aspect ratio (and the other settings), but not the actual crop selection.
    I just thought of a workaround that I've tested and can confirm works (and will also work in a slightly different workflow than above).  In step 1 above, for the Model (and Profile), manually pick the "GoPro Hero4 Black Edition" or the "GoPro Hero3-Silver Edition".  If using the "Hero3-Silver" setting, the Scale (also in step 1 above) need only be set to 79 (rather than 76 for the Hero4 profiles).  By picking one of these Lens Profiles and doing everything else the same as the other steps above, the crop settings do copy and paste properly.  This does also appear to work properly when selecting the "GoPro Hero3-White Edition" Lens Profile, with a Scale setting of 75, which yields a slightly more rectilinear image (with a wider aspect ratio -- almost, but not quite 16:9).
    While this isn't too big of deal as it does work by picking one of the other lens profiles (and the Hero4 Black Edition profile appears to make the same exact correction to the image), this was incredibly frustrating last night to notice that some files had the proper horizontal field of view / crop and others didn't, and other users may experience this or not even notice their crop is not copied properly (as, depending on one's composition and image, it's not extremely obvious with such a wide view).
    I hope this discovery helps someone else and provides feedback for Adobe to correct this issue in the next version of Lightroom 5.
    On a separate, additional note for Adobe:  Please allow the crop overlay tool to "crop" an image to a size that is larger than the original dimensions of the image.  This would allow for one to retain maximum original sharpness in the center of the image when using the Lens Profile tool to correct, or "de-fish" a lens, without having to scale the image down with the Scale option on the Manual tab of the Lens Corrections settings.  For example, when I do the above process selecting the Hero3-White Edition profile, my final image dimensions are 3840 by 2257 pixels, reducing the size of the image in the center by 25%.  If the tool allowed one to crop/scale a larger image size, and I kept the Scale option of the Lens Corrections settings at 100 rather than 75, my final image dimensions would be 5120 by 3009 pixels (larger than the 4000 by 3000 pixel dimensions of the original image which the tool now limits me to).  Yes, the edges would be a little softer but the center would retain the original detail.  (this is essentially what the Calculate Optimal Size button found in the Hugin open source software does, when using it on a single image for lens transformations/corrections)

    Can you zip up a few of your GoPro images, upload them to dropbox.com and post a share link, here, so others can experiment with them, or do you mean this issue is global to all camera models?

  • Folder redirection configured in GPO does not create Documents folder and does not redirect

    Hi
    Another Folder Redirect-post - sorry for that, but I could not find an answer for my problem so far: even with consulting many threads here...
    We have an existing environment under Windows XP and want to move away from that. Now I ran into troubles with folder redirection...
    The following folder- and permission structure exists so far:
    \\<server>\<Users$-share>: This is the base folder for all users-directories
    -> Permissions: SYSTEM: Full / Administrators: Full / Users: Read&Execute, only this folder
    -> Share-permissions: Authenticated users: Full control
    \\<server>\<Users$-share>\<username>: base folder for the specific user
    -> Permissions: SYSTEM: Full / Administrators: Full / User: Change, all permissions inherited onwards
    -> Giving only change permission prevent further problems with self-called "advanced users"... ;-)
    \\<server>\<Users$-share>\<username>\profil.V2: Profile directory of the user
    -> Of course here the permissions are set by the system: override the predefined permission
    \\<server>\<Users$-share>\<username>\daten: Atcual Home directory of the user
    \\<server>\<Users$-share>\<username>\daten\Documents: Suposed Documents directory of the user
    Now I am going to Server 2012 and Windows 8.1, configured the GPO to redirect Documents folder into the above mentioned:
    GPO - User configuration - Policies - Windows settings - Folder Redirection - Documents:
    Setting: Standart - redirects all folders to the same path
    Destination folder: Copy to base directory of the user
    I apply policy to the user, log out and in - it doesn't work, no folder Documents created in my home-folder, Folder Documents still configured at C:\Users\<user>\Documents
    A very special point:
    I also do Redirection of the My Pictures-folder: Define it to follow the Documents folder. Funnily that one works and creates and configures \\<server>\<Users$-share>\<username>\daten\Pictures
    -> So in my eyes, it should work!
    Then: I want to do the folder redirection without Offline Files, due to the fact, that our users work with dynamically assigned virtual desktops, which are been cleaned everytime a user logs off a machine. Therefore synchronizing doesn't make sense...
    I just cannot see, why this redirection does not work :-(
    Thank you very much for any help!
    Kind regards
    David

    Hi David,
    Before going further, would you please let me confirm the OS version of the Windows Server which you used to
    configure folder redirection? Based on your description, did you mean that those users (who will be applied folder redirection settings) logged on Windows XP client computer?
    When you configure the folder redirection setting in Document Properties (path:
    User Configuration-> Policies-> Windows Settings-> Folder Redirection-> Documents), please check if you checked “Also apply redirection policy to Windows 2000, Windows 2000 Server, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 operating system” in Settings
    tab. As below picture shows.
    à
    GPO - User configuration - Policies - Windows settings - Folder Redirection - Documents:
    à•Setting: Standart
    - redirects all folders to the same path
    à•Destination
    folder: Copy to base directory of the user
    Would you please provide a screenshot of those settings you describe? Meanwhile, please summarily describe
    that how you configure. For example, where this GPO link to? Or any other. It will help me to understand clearly. Thanks for your understanding.
    In addition, please use
    gpresult command to check if the folder redirection group policy was really applied.
    If any update, please feel free to let me know.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,
    Justin Gu

    If you are going to be deploying these settings via Group Policy you can change the settings here:
    locate and edit the GPO that you clients inherit there
    policy from
    Setting Desktop wallpaper:
    User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Display
    Then "Desktop Wallpaper" if you enable this you can set a UNC path that you have the wallpaper stored.
    Prevent Desktop background being changed:
    User Configuration\policies\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Personalization
    Enable "Prevent changing desktop background"
    Set Theme:
    User Configuration\policies\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Personalization
    Enable "Load a specific Theme" and point to a theme File
    Prevent users changing Theme:
    If you would like to make it so your users cannot change the theme:
    User Configuration\policies\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Personalization
    Enable -"prevent
    Changing Theme"
    Hope this helps.

  • Issue with GPO "WSE Group Policy Password Synchronization"

    When I started my migration of SBS2011 to  2012r2 with essentials service I noticed this GPO appear which I assume is for passwords to be synced to the cloud however when I implemented group policy from essentials the dashboard crashed and the typical
    GPO's that it creates weren't there and only the folder-redirection was present it was also blank so I deleted it (I didnt delete the GPO "WSE Group Policy Password Synchronization" )
    I then re-launched the dashboard and ran through the process again, it worked what a treat! except the GPO for "WSE Group Policy Password Synchronization"
    appears to be blank, I remember it pointing to a ps file but I dont know what ps file and how to recreate it, along with to confirm what it does. Sadly I have no GPO backup to go back to.
    any help on this would be much appreciated
    Cheers

    Hi,
    à
    however when I implemented group policy from essentials the dashboard crashed
    Based on your description, I understand that Dashboard crashed when implemented group policies (some WSE Group
    Policy).
    àthe typical
    GPO's that it creates weren't there and only the folder-redirection was present it was also blank so I deleted it (I didnt delete the GPO "WSE Group Policy Password Synchronization")
    Did you mean that deleted the ‘WSE Group Policy Folder Redirection’? Would you please let me know whether do
    any operation for the ‘WSE Group Policy Password Synchronization’? Meanwhile, please check if other WSE Group Policy also was
    No Settings defined in Settings tab (as your ‘WSE Group Policy Password Synchronization’ picture showed).
    àSadly I have
    no GPO backup to go back to.
    Please start a BPA scan and check if find relevant issue. If no GPO backup, it seems that not be able to help
    us to restore group policy objects. By the way, did you have a Full server backup?
    If anything I misunderstand or any update, please feel free to let me know.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,
    Justin Gu

  • For some reason I cannot delete files off my desktop without putting my password in and even when I do I still can't delete and I also can't put files on my desktop at all ! but when I look at my desktop it gives me a silver lock? Please help me?

    when I go to find my desktop in Finder it shows a folder and a silver lock ? PLEASE HELP ME !

    If the light will not turn on the TC is dead. No matter that the hard disk is running.. it should only run at start up or when it is accessed not constantly.. that means the board in the TC has failed. Apple do not repair them.. They will replace it under warranty or applecare.
    If you have gone over the 12month warranty it will still be covered if you have applecare on any computer or an Apple TV. In fact the cost of the apple TV plus apple care is still cheaper than buying a new TC.. so it is a route some people are taking.. certainly depends.. in some places like Europe or Australia now, there is a recognition that statutory warranty must be longer on a product that is premium to the market. 12months is not good enough. Apple will sometimes listen.
    They might be fixable but I do not know how.

  • Silver/Black BT vision box

    We've had our silver vision box for over 2 years now.  I was just wondering, what's the difference?  I noticed the buttons of the box infront is different to the black one though the remote is still the same just in different colour (I think).  Difference with the performance?  Quality?
    Thanks!

    As mentioned on two other threads this morning already.....I had an engineer visit this morning. You'll be pleased to know that this is the last time I'll mention it.
    Anyway....I said to him that it will be good when BT finally get the HD Freeview box released.
    And he said.....that the old silver box couldn't get HD but, come April, when our transmitter goes digital then I will be able to get HD Freeview on my new black box. Ok, so this goes against my understanding from other threads. But he is an engineer, and he did come in a BT van. So I kind of would expect him to know.....
    Please don't shoot the messenger though. I'm only repeating what he said.......
    Was that a BT Telecoms engineer or a BT Vision engineer.
    If the hardware decoder & firmware is not present in the Black box then it cannot decode HD Freeview.
