Is it possible to select a particular row in a JTextPane?

Hi everybody,
I was looking through the javadocs for JTextPane and JEditorPane and I didn't see anything that could do this, but I was wondering, is there any way to programmatically take the contents of a JTextPane and find rows with a particular characteristic so they can be printed to the console? What I'd like to do is go through a sequence of JTextPanes (basically, pages), and find any lines that contain one word and/or are shorter than 5 characters. Ideally I'd like to call the panes without displaying them and just analyze the text as it would be displayed. Can anyone point me in the right direction to do this, please? I'm not quite sure how to start.

Not sure if Views work on an undisplayed component. At a minimum I believe you would need to set the size (and maybe preferred size) of the component so the view can be calculated. I haven't tried this but I think the code would be something like:
View rootView = textComponent.getUI().getRootView(textComponent).getView(0);
for (int i = 0; i < rootView.getViewCount(); i++)
     View paragraphView = view.getView(i);
     for (int j = 0; j < paragraphView.getViewCount())
          View rowView = paragraphView.getView(j);
          // add code to process each view here
}If that doesn't work you can also try playing with the Elements of the Document:
Element root = textComponent.getDocument().getDefaultRootElement();If that doesn't work then you wil probably need to play with the viewToModel(...) method. That is keep incrementing the "Y" value by the height of each line and then get the offset of the starting character for the line. Using the offset of the current line and previous line you can get the text for the line.
