How do you turn on GPS activation on the verizon 8330 curve?
Do you have to pay a fee for this service from Verizon?
i am trying to use microsoft live search and i get a "GPS not initialized" message.
thanks for your help.

Go to "Maps", then hit menu key, then hit "Start GPS Navigation."  Hope this helps. John (Hopeful beginner).

  • Lenovo 3000 N100 Network issue / Wireless Stack initialization failed, error code 117

    Hi,
Lenovo 3000 N1000 with 1GB Ram, Win XP SP2, purchased in May 2006. WLAN network with WPA-PSK key worked without any issues so far and is still accessible with PC.
After transferring music via from my notebook to my mobile Bluetooth all network adapters seem to be disconnected. Neither Access Connections (AC) nor Windows can find any wireless network. Also if I try to configure any LAN, WLAN with Windows I get the message that all network adapters have been removed. However I cannot spot any issue in the device manager as all parts are shown to be working OK.
This is what I've done so far:
    1) Checked Radio switch ---> on
    2) FN +F5 --> connection on
    3) Uninstalled AC, downloaded and installed most actual version (5.00 Build 7VCX32WW)
    4) Installed new version for wireless driver for Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG (version 12.0.0.82)
Still, even if I uninstall AC to check if WLAN is working at all, Windows gives the error message that all network components have been removed.
Diagnose Tool gives the following output:
"Wireless Stack initialization failed, error code 117"
    Logfile:
    Description : Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
    Type : Wireless LAN Adapter
    DriverVersion : 10. 5. 1. 59 ----> why is the old driver version??????????
    PNPID : PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4227&SUBSYS_10118086
    SupplicantVersion : AEGIS Protocol (IEEE 802.1x) v3.5.3.0
ERROR AcSvc( SYSTEM(Prvlg).1108.4580) [9/3]11:04:15:703 CAcGolan::GetRadioStateInDriver: Golan API GetRadioState() missing!
Hope this is enough information for anyone of you in order to suggest any solution. As I could see from previous threads some of you experienced similar problems in the past and could fix them somehow. However I couldn't find anyone with exactly the same problem.
Thanks much in advance for any advice you might have.

    Hi
I have this problem also with my Lenovo 3000 V200.
Sometimes when I boot up the PC it will connect to the network and everything works just fine.
At other times, after boot, the "wireless stack initialization failed, error code: 118" problem occurs
and the only way to solve it seems to be a PC restart. Nothing else I do will bring the network up.
If I study the Networking tab in Task Manager it indicates that no adapters are available (wired eth.
access also fails). At a few occations connectivity have failed alltogether (i.e. a reboot have not solved
the problem). Last time this occured I had to reinstall the complete system (from a previous backup)
    to get networking up.
I have tried different versions of Access Connections (5.02, 5.12, 5.21) and the same problem occurs
at seemingly random instances in time. This is obviosly a problem with the Access Connections software
since the Wireless networking works fine when I let windows manage it...
    Anyone with a fix?

    Symptoms
When initialize vi is executed durectly after AC Laod is power cycled the follwing error occurs:
Error -1073807339 Timeout expired before operation completed.
Error -1074135039.  Paramter not allowed. This was followed by a device error desplaced on the instrument display "error 108" p164 of the users manual states: "108: A parameter was sent with the command, but none was expected"

The README file within the ACLOAD package had the following statement:
    =====================================================================
CALIFORNIA INSTRUMENTS LAB VIEW 7.0 Driver LD Series
    =====================================================================
This instruments driver supports the California Instruments LD Series
    of AC Loads.
This driver requires LabView version 7 or higher.
This driver uses a run time version of the LabWindows/CVI driver for
the LD Series.  As such, the cicld30.dll and the LabWindows/CVI Run
time engine are required to operate.  The RTE is included in the
driver archive file.  You may also have to add the instrsup.dll to
your Windows\System directory if it is not present on your PC.
This statement, combined with Coworkers earlier issue with the Initialation problem, created the following additional steps (including reinstalling all SW and drivers)
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=146138&query.id=476131#M146138
BTW - it looks like the io.dll file is a necessary part of the Binaer code, rather than VI functionality.
Verified the LabWindows/CVI Run Time Engine is installed. It is installed with the VISA 4.2 package.
Copied the instrsup.dll, found in the \System32 foldr ot the Windows\System folder.
Copied the cicld30.dll to the \system and \system32 folder. although it was also in the same instr.lib, as it has always has been, tried placing it next to .vi being executed.
This AND making sure that the ID Query input is always false seemed to solve the issue.  Setting the ID Query input is always false is not required for a similar VI for my California Instruments 3001ix AC Source Initialize.vi

    Hey ewtotem,
I wasn't able to download the driver from the third party company, so I'm not to sure what's causing the errors you're seeing. I looked into the errors, and the most common problem that will cause this is timing issues. If the function is using VISA commands, you may have to change the default times to be longer as it may not have enough time to send it all the data your device has to send.
As for the second error you mentioned, it seems that it is a driver specific item, unless you are using calibration vis. You may need to look over the code and verify that all the information being sent to them are valid, try running it under highlight execution so that you can see specificallly what's happening.

  • What will cause the FP-1000 to fail initialization?

When our Field Point FP-1000 is initialized the Network LED and the Access LED flash then go blank. The Power LED remains illuminated and the Status LED extinguishes. This has become more frequent lately. Sometimes all that is needed is to re-initialize the Field Points again and sometimes cycling the power to the Field points is required. Most of the time a re-initialization has to be repeated several times before the Network and Access LEDs remain illuminated and no Power Controller failure is reported. Once the Field Points are working the FP-1000 will stop communicating with the other modules after several minutes and the Network and Access LEDs extinguish. In this case all that is required is one re-initialization to get all of the modules on-line.
After the modules are all working and the initial failure is corrected the Field Points will operate for several hours without any failures. Then the same Power Controller Failure will pop up. As before all that is required is to execute a re-initialize to get the modules back on-line.
We have replaced all of the Field Point modules several months ago for the same problem and the new units only occasionally faulted until the last couple of weeks. Now the failures are every time the modules are powered up.
Are the Field Point units susceptible to corrosion when exposed to high humidity? We operate near the ocean, about 50 feet, but the Field Points are installed in an air conditioned trailer that once in a while will build up some moisture when the air conditioner cycles off.

FP-1000/1001 modules do not have RTlogs.
Considering that you are loosing communication with the module, but the module does not appear to be crashing from an internally recogonized failure (STATUS LED should start to flash), I would look at the communications and grounding. The FP-100X modules use the NETWORK and ACCESS LEDs to indicate when they recognize activity on the serial port (NETWORK) and when a valid command is addressed to the FP-100X or its attached modules (ACCESS). The FP-1000 uses RS-232 for data transmission. RS-232 relies on 3 primary wires; Rx, Tx, and ground. RS-232 ports are generally not isolated since they are single-ended signalling and need to share a common ground. What is the distance between the FP-1000 and the device it is attached to serially? How are both systems grounded (including power supplies)? It may be that due to the corrosive nature of seawater/salt aerosols, a portion of the system ground is at a different potential that is being charged and/or drifting over time. If you are resetting the FP-1000 by turning the power off, you may be allowing the ground to shift back to a level that allows the FP-1000 and device to communicate. Also, check the serial cable itself for broken pins/ground and corrosion.

Have you connected/plugged in your PCAN dongle ?
Is it looking for the right port?

  • GPIB controlled agilent 4155c never gets past initialization stage

I am working on setting up an Agilent Semiconductor Parameter Analyzer (model 4155c) to interface with LabView. I have installed the 415xb/c driver and have the library properly installed so that it comes up in the functions menu. I am able to get the initialize.vi to work, however anything past that does not do anything with the machine settings even though no errors appear. I am a fairly new user of LabView so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi Crystal,
Try to start from this short example, that is a bit generic but i think it will work fine for GPIB conections.

    Motion Control Logic as bellow:
    1) Initialize PCI 7390 to enable Servo
    2) Get Encoder Reading
    3) If it is not equal to zero
    4) Move this axis to Zero Position(Homing) & Enable Home Indicator
    5) Operator will Load the component
    6) Press "Cycle Start"
    7) Move Axis to 198000 pulses (Target Position)
    8) Get Job complete Signal
    10) Move Axis to 0th Position (Homing)
Suppose,During Axis movement power goes off, then ideally Absolute Encoder value should remain same after system start up.
But,It is not happening. We are getting Zero for every time after Switch ON the system.
    {MAX Checking:Current Encoder Value=1500,if we send 5000 digital pulses to Servo in position control mode,it moves clockwise to 6500th position in forward direction.In second case,if we send -3800 digital pulses to Servo in same mode,it moves anticlockwise to -2300th position in reverse direction.}
I personally feel this problem due to initializing, when we are initialize Servo, that time it is writing Zero value or resetting Absolute Encoder Value.

  • Scarab16bit.bin error on IMAQ initialization

I just did a brand new install of LabVIEW 6.1 with the enclosed IMAQ 2.5.2. Now, every time I start Windows, I get the following error when IMAQ does its initialization:
    "Can't find scarab16bit.bin data file."
It's not a big deal, since it apparently has no effect for what I'm trying to do, but it's still annoying. I checked, and 'scarab16bit.bin' isn't anywhere on my computer.
    What should I do here?

You may want to uninstall IMAQ 2.5.2 and upgrade to the latest version:
    http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/websearch/50F6D6F1094A033586256D52006146E0
There are also updates available instead, to IMAQ 2.5.3 and IMAQ 2.5.5, here:
    http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/webcategories/85256410006C055586256BBB002C0D10
The scarab16bit.bin data file should be in the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-IMAQ\bin folder. After installing a later version of the IMAQ driver, this issue should go away.
    Hope this helps-

  • Butterworth LPF initialization

I want to low-pass filter a sequence with the Butterworth Filter vi,
where the filter is initialized to the first value of the sequence
(which is typically non-zero). It appears that the vi eventually calls
the IIR_Filter2 function, which has only a "reset" argument (presumably
which initializes the internal states to zero).
Can someone suggest an elegant method to initialize the filter to an
arbitrary value? Or, is it necessary to first run a dummy sequence
composed of the desired arbitrary initial value through the filter
(with the appropriate filter parameters), and then do the actual filter
step with the init/cont input set to "cont"?
    Thanks,

  • HP T770 Slow Initialization

We just purchased a new HP T770 plotter and we used the factory supplied disk to install on our computers. When I select the HP T770 from the drop down menu of printers and the click properties to adjust the paper type etc. it seems to take forever to Initialize and get to the properties screen. I just used another system in our office and it works at a lighting fast paced and we both run the same operating system and similar desk tops, and we both use ACad V10.
Is there something set wrong on my system that would make the Initialization process take so long?

  • Hp33250 driver initialization error

I have an HP/Agilent 33250 Arbitrary Wavefrom Generator and am using the hp33120 driver. We have been using this driver for several years without a problem. Last week, an engineer in my group started having trouble running the 'hp33120 Initialize.vi' routine standalone. If the initialize is run as a subroutine call from another vi, it works fine. But if it is run standalone, we get the error:
    "hp33120a Initialize With Options.vi<ERR>
Driver Status:  (Hex 0xBFFA000A) Check that the library name (hp33120a_32.dll) and prefix (hp33120a) are correct."
The error code translates to -1074135030.
The last change to LabVIEW software was in February with the 2009 update. I have, of course, checked the names and both are correct. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Bob
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes, it has worked since the 2009 update. And, yes I am using the IVI driver and agree with you, they are more trouble than they are worth. This problem appears to be with an uninitialized global in the "hp33120 initialize with options" subVI that the Initialize vi calls. Since I do not have visibility into the DLL, I can't debug it. (I know, there are tools to debug things like this but I haven't used them.)
I downloaded the latest driver and installed it. The VI now runs standalone. This still begs the question as to why the driver stopped working out of the blue. It's probably related to a network change but our IT people won't fess up to doing anything over the weekend.
To confuse the issue a bit more, we distribute instrument drivers with each project (a long story related to crosslinking). This means each project should be independent but this problem showed up on all testers and projects simultaneously. The new driver did a forced install on the C: drive but it still fixed this problem. Theoretically each project should not access the version in instr.lib but they clearly do. Chalk up another win for LabVIEW tendrils!
I consider this a workaround rather than a fix. In any case, we are back up and running.

  • Shared Variable Initialization

For whatever reason if I use shared network variables over the network they take 20 seconds each to initialize... after all of them initialize they are very fast.  Does anyone know why it would take exactly 20 seconds for this to occur?  If i look at the variables in variable manager i can see the update values and they are exactly 20 seconds apart.  This occurs weather i'm using a library with 20 variables or one with only 1 variable.

    Hi Tak321,
You can change the gateway address in the network properties on Windows (if that is the operating system you are using), however, doing so could disrupt your communications to your building network.  It does sound like it is possible that the shared variables are routing through the other network.  You could try disabling that network adapter to be sure.  It is also possible to bind shared variables to a specific network card: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/D358BABAE2F61F1A862571570056867D?OpenDocument

  • GPIB Initialization problems

    Hi,
I'm using LabView 6i with a Fluke 45 IEEE dmm. The communication works fine as long as I use MAX to initialize the GPIB. I tried the GPIB Initialization function and it does set the meter in REMOTE, but that's it. It doesn't allow me to send any command. In order to do it, I have to go to MAX. I'm using the regular write and read GPIB commands. Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Javier Pena

Without using MAX, try to retart your instrument (i.e. DMM) after your
program is running. Other than CR or CR+LF, ; (semi colon) could be used for
    command termination.
    Good luck,
