GPS on SW3 Only Seems to Lock When I turn on the GPS on my Phone! (Note 2)

I only decided to jump onto the smartwatch bandwagon due to the external GPS in the SW3. So, I purchased the SW3 less than a week ago. I was planning on leaving my phone (Note 2) at home while running, but it looks like I can't do that yet! I bought the watch from VerizonWireless and only have less than two weeks to return it if there is an issue with the GPS in my watch.
I was doing some GPS "testing" by starting GhostRacer and then... 1) Setting my watch down on a cloudless night for 15+ minutes and the GPS was still "searching". 2) I walked around my cul-de-sac a few times. Still "searching". 3) I had a wild idea to turn on my phone's GPS. Wow! Almost immediately the GPS on the watch displayed 4 bars, then locked in with 3 bars. I continued walking and GhostRacer started showing that I was moving a distance and pace greater than 0.0. Great! Maybe the watch just needed to use my phone's GPS to lock in? I turned off my phone's GPS and kept walking. The distance and pace stopped incrementing. I turned my phone's GPS back on and the watch started increasing my distance again. I kept turning my phone's GPS on and off and I found that the watch only really sensed my movement when my phone's GPS is on. Before this, I tried RunKeeper and it always showed my distance at 0.0.
If I need to have the watch use my phone's GPS, then there is no need to get this particular smartwatch!
Is there something special that I need to do to "enable" the GPS in my watch? Is there a special mode that I can run in to see how many satellites that my watch can pick up and possibly the signal strength? I haven't been able to find too many posts on the Internet about the GPS not working with running apps, so I'm wondering if there is something wrong with my particular watch, but I'd want to be able to prove it first.

Actually there are very few apps which are really using the buit-in GPS receiver, maybe because the SWR50 is still the only watch on market having this feature.
I have written my own app which uses the phone GPS if available to save power and falls back to the watch GPS in case the phone is out of range.
This works quite fine. But as the app also depends on the compass and the compass with actual firmware is still crap I haven't offered the app on the play store yet. Hopefully the upcoming 5.1 update will fix this catastrophic bug which is there from the beginning.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore. -
Do you have any programs that can hold the start up manager everytime when I turn on the computer?
I am not sure but if they do have the way to do it, I would like to try. But I prefered the easy way ^_^

After Firefox updated, the computer locked up when I turned on the HP Scanjet G4050. Why?
Firefox seemed to be working fine, but when I turned on the scanner, the screen locked. I couldn't do a "force quit". The only solution was unplugging. I tried this twice after restarting and the same thing happened. Each time I turned off the scanner before restarting. Once, I left the scanner on after unplugging the computer. Then, when Firefox was launched it locked up.

I bougth a macbook from anotner person.
I already change th apple id in all places.
But only in app store when I choose download the new release of a app, it request the password of the old apple id, and i can't switch this apple id to my apple id.
Where i should change for this?The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
1. You don't own another Mac.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
2. You do own another Mac.
If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
Once booted in Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
3. Other issues
If you see a lock screen when trying to boot from installation media or in Recovery mode, then a firmware password was set by the previous owner, or the machine was remotely locked via iCloud. You'll either have to contact the owner or take the machine to an Apple Store or another authorized service provider to be unlocked. You may be asked for proof of ownership.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Mac App Store Customer Service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.
When trying to create a new iCloud account, you might get a failure message: "Account limit reached." Apple imposes a limit of three iCloud account setups per device. Erasing the device does not reset the limit. You can still use an account that was created on another device, but you won't be able to create a new one. Contact iCloud Support for more information. -

The partner can purchase if they have access to a card in one of those countries. Alternatively they do not need to purchase a subscription to edit forms that you've created, they do in order to create multiple forms of their own, but by your sharing forms with them at the "Co-author" level they have access to the editing. For the last 10 days I have been unable to open the Mail account on my eMac (MacOS10.4.11). When I click on the icon in the Dock the only option I get is "Force quit" and the main Mail bar will not open any choice. Any ideas?
You can setup Mail for iCloud on the eMac.

You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.

Having trouble trying to open links on my recieved mail. The only response I get when I click on the link is, "No associated application could be found".
How can I correct this problem?What type of file is it? What is the extension (the 3 letters after the . (DOT)) of the file?
Could be it is a Windows Exe file and simply will not run on a Mac. Which is good because anyone that would send you a excute (.EXE) file is up to no good. just my opinion. -
Lately, I've been getting a blue screen in the midst of working and have to do a cold reboot to end it. Seems to happen when I'm closing windows or quitting applications. Not always, but sporadically. What causes this? I'm using 10.6.8 on early 2011 MBP. Thanks for any help/advice!
You have 10.6 on that machine, I suggest you stick with it for performance, third party hardware and software reasons as long as possible.
Consider 10.8 (not 10.7) when it's released, because 10.7 and 10.8 will require a new investment in software and newer third party hardware as it requires newer drivers the old machines won't have. (forced upgrade because of software, really nice of them)

Far as your Safari problem do these things until it's resolved:
1: Software Update fully under the Apple menu.
2: Check the status of your plug-ins and update (works for all browsers) also install Firefox and see if your problems continue. You should always have at least two browsers on the machine just in case one fails.

I had this same problem when I tried to update. It locked up during the update. Your phone is in recovery mode. The only way I could restore my phone was to connect to a different computer and ask it to restore my phone. It worked and thanks to the fact that I had backed everything up to the iCloud before updating, everything is back to normal. I won't be updating to IOS 6.2.1 again. I had also updated iTunes and now whenever it starts it gives me an error message -42110 and doesn't recognize my Iphone when it's connected. Hopefully, Apple will fix this soon. Good luck.

When you turn off any device, it will disconnect from the internet. My sense is that you're not quite explaining what's happening. Do you mean that when you turn it back on again it doesn't automatically reconnect? Do you mean the if it just goes to sleep (as opposed to being powered off) that it switches from WiFi to cellular? Or are you saying that you think that when you turn off the iPad, the router disconnects?
If you're trying to say that the iPad disconnects from WiFi when asleep and switches to cellular, the solution is to keep it plugged into a power source.

I have created PDF from hardcopy by using my scanner. After I run OCR option for my PDF by using Acrobat Pro 9. But "Text-to-speech" functionality of the PDF says that an error message comes up that says the page is empty when I turns on the read out loud option in Acrobat. Kindly help me to sortout this problems?
So I tried generating the same PDFs on two other computers that have Acrobat 9 Pro. Results were reproduced. The verdict is:
- complex PDF files (that is, containing cross-references, tables of contents, and bookmarks) generated by Acrobat 9.x Pro are roughly 2-5x larger than the identical file generated with Acrobat 8.x Pro.
- different PDF conversion settings make a negligable difference (less than 10% rather than 70-80%).
- using the "Reduce File Size" or "Optimize PDF" option cuts the file size roughly in half, almost always resulting in a "image downsampling mask" warning message, which requires acknowledgement (that is a problem for batch processing or automation).
- adding an Acrobat watermark to the file cuts the file size roughly in half.
- just using Save As to another filename has no effect on file size.
- generating the PDF in Acrobat 9 with links but no PDF bookmarks still results in the inflated file size.
- generating the PDF in Acrobat 9 without any links or bookmarks results in approximately the same file size as the Acrobat 8 PDF with full links and bookmarks.
It appears that Acrobat 9's manner of adding links is what's bloating the files, and in my case it's probably not related to images or image resolution/print quality. It's a shame, because Acrobat 9 seems to have made some improvements to the Review Tracker interface, and a few other bells and whistles which I haven't really gotten around to exporing yet. But unless I find a way to keep my links and the PDF file sizes comparable to what I was getting with Acrobat 8 Pro, it looks like I'm going to stay with Acrobat 8.
