Graph Width - Alignment with Table Below

Hi Experts,
We have a graph showing Actual vs Budget value (x-axis) by Profit Centre (y-axis) and a table below showing these values, along with some additional forecasting key figures.
Our problem is that the number of Profit Centrers can change depending on the month/year you select (parameter). Our table automatically adjusts to the correct size (e.g. 70px width for each Profit Center column), but our graph width always remains the same. This means the alignment between the graph's columns and the table's columns do not align properly, we have to manually re-size the graph after each refresh.
Is there a way to increase / decrease the graph width depending on the number of Profit Centres displayed (e.g. 70px for each Profit Centre).
We're using BOE 3.1 SP2.
Thanks in advance,
Andrew

hi,
WEBI doesn't provide any option to set the width of the Chart dynamically.
Based on your dataset, you should be setting the maximum width and height of your chart manually.
Please refer the below link.
Webi Chart Dynamic X Axis lenght
or Workaround can be having a duplicate chart.
Please create 2 charts.
One for minimum width and height
Other for maximum width and height
Overlap the charts such that they are top and left aligned
Based on user input parameter values, create a Variable  which will count the values.
for example,
If Var < =5 then display first chart (small)
If var >5 then display second chart  (big)
Apply the above variable in Report Filters pane as block filters for each chart.

Vamsee

  • Graph Data does not align with the axis label

    Hi,
    The graph data does not align with the axis label when
    datetimeaxis is used.
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/labs/flex3/html/help.html?content=charts_displayingdata_04.html
    (in the using parseFunction property example) when you hover on the
    line graph the values do not align on the labels. Is this a bug?
    Can somebody help me with this.
    Thank you,
    Gautam.

    Hi All
    Thanks for looking into it.
    Actually we have just added a field GJAHR (was missing in the extractor) so that it takes data accoring to fiscal yr. Actually we had a issue that the Business area for a particular vendor 'X' and doc no 'Y' was showing incorrectly (similar to that of yr 2008) but it changed this yr and the extractor was still picking Business Area for yr 2008.
    So we added GJAHR field so that it takes correct Business Area. we have checked in R/3 Extractor checker and it shows correctly.
    But that change has not reflected in BW yet even after replicating datasource.
    I hope i have made you all understand the situation.
    Thanks for your help

  • Adjusting with Width of Advanced table column

    Hi,
    I have used Advanced table in my results table.
    One of the Column Header values is "Max Pressure (PSIG)" and appears as
    Max Pressure (
    PSIG)
    I need to show it show as either "Max Pressure (PSIG)" or
    Max Pressure
    (PSIG).
    I have not used Attrinbute Sets for columns.
    I even tried programmetically to put spaces between[b] Max pressure and (PSIG).Didnt work out.
    OA Page sets the width of the columns as per screen size
    Any other idea to solve this issue?
    Thanks,
    Gowtam.

    Hi Gowtam,
    Try to increase the width of ui item under this header. Also try to increase the width of advanced table.

  • Problem with table formatting

    I'm having a lot of problems with tables not reflecting their formatting when I open them in a browser. I've tried opening in Safari, Firefox & Camino with the same results. For example, a row with the following html content has a much larger height & aligns the text to the top when opened in a browser:
    <tr>
              <td height="15" colspan="3" valign="middle"><h6 align="center">Summer 2009</h6>
              </td>
            </tr>
    If it matters, this is a row in a table nested in another table. Here's the code down to the row in question (all tags are closed properly in the remaining code):
    <table width="600" border="2" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
        <tr>
          <td align="center" valign="top"><img src="images/events.jpg" width="250" height="35"></td>
        </tr>
        <tr>
          <td align="left" valign="top">
          <table width="100%" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="0">
            <tr>
              <td height="15" colspan="3" valign="middle"><h6 align="center">Summer 2009</h6>
              </td>
            </tr>
    I am using a style sheet for text. Here's the code for "h6" if that matters:
    h6 {
    font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial;
    font-size: 14px;
    font-weight: bold;
    color: #660099;
    Any ideas is appreciated. This is driving me nuts. Spacing and alignment sometimes work and sometimes don't work. Dreamweaver is supposed to make such things easier!
    Kevin

    Header tags are usually used round a bit of text, not parts of a table, and if you don't specify the margins on them, can force different amounts of space below in different browsers. Try making the bottom margin on h6 zero, and confine it to text within a cell.
    Also, if you can upload your page somewhere and let us have the url it will be easier to troubleshoot.

    IT_CUSTMAT
    How can i make to display again the content of the line...?
    Thanlas on advance

    If you use a baseline grid and space before/after your spaces must by necessity equal the leading (using the align to grid option will force them to the grid, regardless of the chosen size). The grid should match the leading of your body copy.
    If you have headings that you want space before and after, don't align them to the grid, but make sure that the total of the space before, after, and leading for the style add up to a multiple of the body text leading. That will work smoothly everywhere except at the top of a column, where the space before is ignored, and will be added to the space below by virtue of the align to grid on the body copy.
    If instead of having all the copy lign to the grid you just want the top and bottom lines flush, and you want the leading within the paragraphs constant, but a variable space between paragraphs, set the text frame to vertically justified, then set the maximum spacing between paragraphs to a ridiculously large number and all of the extra space required to fill the column will be split between the paragraphs.

  • Adding New Image and Text to an Existing Page Created with Tables

    Working in DW 5.5
    I'm trying to add a new image/link and small amount of text to an existing web page that was created with tables and centered.  I am using AP Divs. One for the image and one for the text.  Everything functions fine, but I can't get the new items to anchor and re-center with the rest of the page.  I am not able to overide the "Absolute Positioning".  I've tried different solutions from various tutorials but I can't seem to make them work with tables.
    The added items are a Facebook button and text.
    Go to:  http://www.sugarhollowfarms.net/index.html  to see the problem.
    Please help. I'm not that experienced.

    Make a back-up of the page first before you implement the changes below!
    Take the below bit of code from <div id="FBlogo">...... to.......... </div> <!-- end FBlogo -->
    and insert it directly after the opening div tag FWTableContainer and before your opening table tag (see position below):
    <div id="FWTableContainer209091602">
    <div id="FBlogo"><a href="#"><img src="images/fb.png" alt="fb" width="62" height="62" onClick="MM_openBrWindow('http://www.facebook.com/SugarHollowFarms','facebook','toolbar=yes,location=yes,status=yes, menubar=yes,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=1000,height=800')"></a>
    <p class="bodytext"><strong>Join us<br>
    on Facebook</strong></p></div><!-- end FBlogo -->
    <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="800">
    Then add - position: relative; - to the FWTableContainer css (as shown below):
    #FWTableContainer209091602 {
        /* The master div to make sure that our popup menus get aligned correctly.  Be careful when playing with this one. */
        position:relative;
        margin:auto;
        width:800px;
        height:600px;
        text-align:left;
        top: 20px;
        background-image: url(images/homepage_new3.jpg);
        border: medium solid #336600;
        position: relative;
    Amend the css for FBlogo to as below:
    #FBlogo {
        position:absolute;
        left:700px;
        top:380px;
        width:91px;
        z-index:1;
        text-align: center;
    Amend the css for bodytext as below:
    .bodytext {
        font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
        font-size: 11px;
        line-height: 13px;
        margin: 0;
        padding: 0;

  • How can I right-align a table header?

    Does anyone know a way to right-align a table header?
    For example, in the table below I want the word 'Price' to be right-aligned. I could set the table's 'header renderer' to be a right-aligned DefaultTableCellRenderer, but then the header would look like a cell, not a header. Why can't swing be simple, like table.getColumn(1).setAlignment(Column.RIGHT) ????
    public class TestTableHeader {
         public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
              JFrame frame = new JFrame("Test");
              Object[][] rowData = new Object[][] { { "General Electric", "$100.60" },
                        { "IBM", "$5.20" }, { "Wal-mart", "$17.00" } };
              JTable table = new JTable(rowData, new Object[] { "Name", "Price" });
              DefaultTableCellRenderer renderer = new DefaultTableCellRenderer();
              renderer.setHorizontalAlignment(DefaultTableCellRenderer.RIGHT);
              table.getColumnModel().getColumn(1).setCellRenderer(renderer);
              frame.getContentPane().add(new JScrollPane(table));
              frame.setSize(400, 300);
              frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.DISPOSE_ON_CLOSE);
              frame.setVisible(true);
    }

    I modified your code an came up with a solution to the problem.
    import java.awt.Component;
    import javax.swing.JFrame;
    import javax.swing.JLabel;
    import javax.swing.JScrollPane;
    import javax.swing.JTable;
    import javax.swing.table.DefaultTableCellRenderer;
    public class TestTableHeader {
         public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
              JFrame frame = new JFrame("Test");
              Object[][] rowData = new Object[][] {
                        { "General Electric", "$100.60" }, { "IBM", "$5.20" },
                        { "Wal-mart", "$17.00" } };
              JTable table = new JTable(rowData, new Object[] { "Name", "Price" });
              RightAlignRender right = new TestTableHeader().new RightAlignRender();
              table.getColumnModel().getColumn(0).setHeaderRenderer(right);
              table.getColumnModel().getColumn(1).setHeaderRenderer(right);
              frame.getContentPane().add(new JScrollPane(table));
              frame.setSize(400, 300);
              frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.DISPOSE_ON_CLOSE);
              frame.setVisible(true);
         public class RightAlignRender extends DefaultTableCellRenderer {
              public Component getTableCellRendererComponent(JTable table,
                        Object arg1, boolean arg2, boolean arg3, int arg4, int column) {
                   Component toReturn = table.getTableHeader().getDefaultRenderer().getTableCellRendererComponent(table,
                             arg1, arg2, arg3, arg4, column);
                   switch (column) {
                   case 0:
                        ((JLabel) toReturn).setHorizontalAlignment(DefaultTableCellRenderer.CENTER);
                        break;
                   case 1:
                        ((JLabel) toReturn).setHorizontalAlignment(DefaultTableCellRenderer.RIGHT);
                        break;
                   return toReturn;
    }

  • JTable when scroll horiz column cells dont align with header

    Hi,
    I'm having a problem with my JTable. Everything was working correctly until i introduced checkboxes into a column on teh table. I have a table which has a horizontal scrollbar to scroll across all the columns. when i set one column to boolean values (instead of the strings 'true' and 'false' which were there before) when i scroll across the table the headers of each column no longer align with the data.
    Some columns resize when i scroll and the headings always stay the same width.
    I'm getting an error:
    java.lang.ClassCastException
         at javax.swing.JTable$BooleanRenderer.getTableCellRendererComponent(Unknown Source)The database stores int 0/1 for the boolean value so in the getValueAt method of my table model i return a boolean for this column.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Saz

    Thanks for replying. Neither solution worked.
    The problem is definately with the boolean value because i'm getting a classcast exception: at javax.swing.JTable$BooleanRenderer.getTableCellRendererComponent(Unknown Source)
    I've a feeling this could be caused by some values being empty strings in the same column with booleans?
    Does anyone know what causes this error?
    Thanks,
    Sarah

  • Trouble with tables

    I'm really new at this but I've been working for days with
    little progress. I want to make a page with all my links in a
    column down the left and text and pictures one the right. I made a
    table with rows on the left for my links and one cell on the right
    into which I inserted my text. The text is the equivalent of 2
    pages of a Word document. Instead of the table expanding down to
    accomodate the text it got really wide so that I have to scroll way
    across to read it. I tried setting the width of the table before
    importing text. No diffenence. I haven't ticked off "no wrap". I
    tried importing a smaller document and that fit in better except
    the last cell on the left got really long. Please
    HEEEEELLLLP!

    I posted this is the newsgroup yesterday but it didn't come
    over to the forum, so I'll post again here.
    Hello,
    That's not all the code, I'm afraid, and it is pretty bad.
    Is that pasted from a Microsoft Word document by any chance?
    That would explain it, if it was.
    Anyway, there are a number of paragraphs where there are no
    spaces (by space
    I mean tapping the spacebar once) between words in code view.
    Instead,   was used. This is an HTML entity that
    means "non-breaking
    space".
    It looks like a space between words, but it doesn't act like
    one.
    The "non-breaking" part of it's name is the key.
    Whatever created this code used this instead of regular old
    spaces (my money
    is still on MS Word)
    You need regualr old spaces between words in the code for the
    line to wrap.
    For example, both of these sentences as seen in code view:
    <p>This sentence will wrap when it runs out of room
    becasue I am actually
    using a space between words.</p>
    <p>However, this, sentence, where, in, code, view, ", "was, used, will, not.</p>
    I cleaned things up a bit, and removed the terribly redundant
    and deprecated
    code and all the   where they weren't needed.
    This should help you get started. Just paste this into code
    view of a new
    page..

  • Unwanted space when working with tables

    I have created a layout using tables (in CS4), and when I top align the tables containing images and text, it leaves a large, blank, unwanted space at the bottom. I am unable to resize the tables accordingly to eliminate the space, how can I fix this? Here's an image

    Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with coding for CSS. If I was able to layout a site with CSS the way I had envisioned, I totally would have, I just don't know how. Any suggestions? Anyways, here's my code:

  • Help with tables for frustrated newbie

    Could someone look at the starters of a site I'm trying to
    get up and going? The link is here:
    http://canyoncrestfoundation.org/newhomepage.htm
    The site is a table with five rows. I would like to be able
    to use the basic design on other pages, and change the fourth row
    down on different pages. It's the row with the image of the
    teenagers, and it has the text what "if I try to type here...". I'm
    using Dreamweaver 8 and if I move click on the draw table button in
    Layout mode, and then try to move the cursor over that row, I get a
    circle with a line diagonally across the middle. I really wanted to
    be able to have varying layouts in that center part. Also, what do
    I do to move the top text in that row over-- where it says,
    "Partnering with..." Thank you! I'm feeling very frustrated with
    this.
    Please be kind and gentle. I'm figuring this out on
    my own, and am just a volunteer for the foundation.

    Looks exactly like the problem I faced....

    Do not 'draw' tables, insert them. copy and paste the
    following into a new
    DW window and see how I've put the various elements
    together. Use separate
    tables for each of your elements - it should get you on the
    right track:
    PS: This may be a good tutorial to have a read through
    before you go any
    further too:
    http://www.dwfaq.com/Tutorials/Tables/flexible_tables.asp
    It will show you how to 'nest' tables, so that adjacent
    cells don't 'blow'
    out as you add content....

  • How can we configure the width of the table in SAP DB

    Hello sirs,
    How can we configure the width of the table in SAP DB? (<b>i.e to specify the total width of the sum of all columns</b>). I need to change the default value of table width for adding fields with biggger sizes...
    With best regards,
    Sudheesh....

    Hi,
      The restrictions for using SAPDB are available at the following link http://dev.mysql.com/doc/maxdb/en/f6/069940ccd42a54e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
      The 'internal length of the table' is 8088 bytes, which intern maps to the column width attribute.
    Can we change the column width?
    The answer is 'NO'.
    check the general Column width error (-1115) at link below where it is specified that the column width can be altered http://dev.mysql.com/doc/maxdb/en/bb/57f18204fd11d2a96c00a0c9449261/content.htm
    Refer link below for more details on the width of each column (based on the datatype associated with the column). http://orgs.man.ac.uk/documentation/mysql/manual_Column_types.html
    So we will have to judiciously look into the boundary values for each column and set the right length because if the column is char(200) and it holds a null value then length allocated is 200 bytes.
    The restriction cannot be broken.
