Graphical date representation

I did not find any idea how to create a component which allows to select date graphically (a kind of dialog). Is there any tutorial, component which can help me?
It would be great if this could be solved using spinner (datemodel).

I have created a few of these types of components. I always just use the Calendar class to get the date information. I use a JComboBox for the month and year and a GridLayout of JButtons for the days. It's really pretty simple.

Refresh the Business Graphics Data on click of next page event of a table

Hi Experts,
We are using Business Graphics UI element in Web dynpro Java to display a table data.
We are limiting the graphics data to 12 table entries at a time.
Now, I just want to know how can we refresh the Business Graphics data when the user clicks on the Next Page option at the bottom of the table.
This is applicable if we have more than 12 table entries and we've restricted the visible row count to 12.
So, for more than 12 entries; when the user selects the next page, I want the next set of data to be displayed in the Business Graphics UI element.
But I am not able to get the action for the Next Page event.
Please note that we are on Netweaver 7.01.
Kindly suggest as how can we achieve this functionality.

Best practices for data representation

I'm curious about the best data representation for a constant or variable when there is an obvious choice of two.
For example, take the Timeout terminal of the Event structure. This terminal takes a Long (I32) data type, but I'm wiring to it a constant value of 100 and therefore could use an Unsigned Byte (U8). Setting the constant to be I32 prevents an automatic conversion step from happening, but setting it to be U8 saves a little bit of unnecessary allocated space.

speaking it more than likely will not matter until the data sets get
large however as a "best practices" go it is best to keep the data
consistent and in the type that the control, property node etc expects. Directly from the NI user manual (LV 7.1)
"Coercion
dots appear on block diagram nodes to alert you that you wired two
different numeric data types together. The dot means that LabVIEW
converted the value passed into the node to a different representation.
Coercion dots can cause a VI to use more memory and increase its run
time. Try to keep data types consistent in VIs."

SAP graphics data error

For one the IAC component when i run it from Portal(SAP HTML Gui) I am getting "SAP Graphics data not supported" error. Is there any property i should set in ITS. but when i run it as SAP Gui for windows it works fine. Did anyone encounter this error. Thanks for you help

Export report with graphics data

Hi,
i would like to get a long time period report (about 2 month) of performance data with graphics data, same as data on Performance tab of GridControl, is possible to export report of performance with graphics data instead of ASH report that export only data without graph?

Good. The information that you need is stored in the MGMT TABLES but the query can change too much if you change your requirements.
Example
For example CPU % Utilization GC retrieve information from sar comand
sar 60 1440
For IO Waits the GC retrieve information of iostat
But the performance page in GC is the most complex to build a query, because these information are building but PL executions and perl scripts.
Other metrics are more easy

The CPU LOAD in the database performance page establish a maximun cpu line that is equal to processors numbers.

How to place a motion data representation in labVIEW?

i am using motion assistant software and labVIEW to move a slider in X and Y axis. i just want to know how can i plot sort of a graph in LabVIEW to represent my motion data? for example, if X axis moves to point 100, my graph will automatically plot to that point too. so if the slider moves to X,Y (1000,2000), my data representation will also move to (1000,2000) in the graph in LabVIEW.

Thank you for contacting National Instruments. Depending on how the system is returning positional information, there are motion VIs that can return the current position of axes. Assuming that you have NI-Motion installed, you can find these VIs in the block diagram by right-clicking and selecting Search. Type "Read Position", and a number of ".flx" type VIs should show up. Use these VIs to obtain the current position of each axis. You can build the points that are returned from each axis into arrays using for loops. Once you have arrays built for each axis, bundle the axes into a cluster, and then pass the cluster to an XY Graph. The cluster is necessary to pass multiple axes of information to an XY Graph.

I have observed my "Other" data increases in size after I deleted a video. My Other data once get to 18GB, yes eighteen.
It seems like the only way to control this mysterious "Other" data is restoring the iPad to its manufacture configuration. Restore it to a previous back up doesn't help either. Once in a while is ok, but several times a month is a pain.
After the last restore (to manufacture), my other immediately jump to 0.4GB and seems to hold at 0.65GB.
Looks more and more like a bug in iOs.

It is the date on which the document is created.It is the date on which the sales document becomes valid for sales and distribution processing.
The document date is different for each document. In the quotation, the document date is the date from which the quotation is valid. In the sales order, it is the date from which the agreement becomes binding.
In general it will be the document creation date.

Converting graphic data to analog data

Hello,
I have to realize a LabView program to command a step by step motor.
My problem is that the command sent to the motor is not the instruction I give to the program. I found that the error is made when the data are converted from graphics to analog data.
I don't understand what is the problem. Is the problem comes from the functions I use to convert the data ? (see my attached picture of the program)

Performance wise data representation

Hello there,
I would like to start discussion regarding performance wise solution implementation solution,
From performance point of view, which choice would be better to be chosen among the following scenarios,
1. one is to run a process run on every and each record in the a Huge table, for example with million records, for all the records,
2. or to have another table which might have about 800 fields !! which might represents a map crossing the id values in the main Huge table, which must be filled based on the values in the main table!! as a pre-processing
then instead of processing the Huge table, simple query the map table which could be indexed using the needed values,
what is the order of causes of bad performance, a process on many records, or many records that represents a pre-processing

Help with Capturing Business Graphics data point

Hi,
I created a BusinessGraphics UI element with SimpleSeries and assigned eventId for the categories and data points. I am able to get the series that is clicked through the event but I would like to know which point (value) is clicked as well.
The steps I followed are
1. Created BG UI element, category and SimpleSeries
2. Assigned eventIDs
3. Created an action class and mapped it to the UI element
4. Code in wdDoModifyView is
     if (firstTime)
       IWDBusinessGraphics chart = (IWDBusinessGraphics) view.getElement("bgCSB");
       chart.mappingOfOnAction().addSourceMapping("id", "pointID");
5. Implemented action class with one parameter (pointID) and able to get the value.
Can someone help me to get the data point values from the user click.

You have done everything right, except I don't think you can do this with simple series.
Create something like this:
in the context:
series-> (this node can be with 1..1 cardinality and 1..1 selection)
   points->
       label (string)
       value (int)
       pointId (string)
in the business graphics:
create one series (not simple one) and add to it one point of numeric type.
in the properties of business graphics bind seriesSource to series context.
Series: bined poitSource to series.points
Series_points: bind eventId to series.points.pointId
                        bind label to series.points.label
                        bind valueSource to series.points
Values (these are the numeric values): bind value to series.points.value
in wdDoModify method do the same thing as you have done already.
Now, when you click on a point you will receive in your event in pointId variable the pointId context attribute value.

Just looking for some high level ideas. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
I've been asked to develop a unique Apex application. Well, unique for me. :-)
I work for a manufacturer and they need a quality inspection app created. I've been developing Apex apps for about 3 years and I know how to code up the main aspects of this application. I know what to do concerning the main data entry, etc., but I don't know how to best go about one key aspect.
The key aspect - this app will be used on the plant floor, so they won't always be connected to the network. The quality inspectors want to have an application on a laptop that has a graphic of the component being inspected. For example, let's say it is a stove. There will be several graphics. Front, back, sides, top, interior. Then, over each graphic there will be a grid. Numbers along the top, letters down the side. If the inspector sees a flaw on the side in the E-5 location they will click a LOV that is in that section and select the flaw. The LOV will contains things like - scratch, dent, bad electrical connection, etc. You probably get the idea. Then, at some point they finish the inspection, connect to the network, and upload the information. The information uploaded will be serial number and the inspection grid information.
I have a few main questions:
1. Is Apex appropriate for the inspection component, particularly since the user will NOT have a persistent network connection.
2. If Apex is the best solution for the inspection part, how do I go about doing it?
3. If not Apex then what? Would maybe some XML/graphic solution be best? If so, how would I get that data uploaded to the main Apex app?
I'm just brainstorming at this point. Any questions, comments, suggestions are welcome.

Here's some thoughts..
1) You could use a watermark to show the image as a background and then have your controls placed accordingly.... (Layout would be interesting).
2) XE installed on the laptop and then upload to main database application from XE when you are connected to network.
3) Flex MIGHT be an option, again with XE as a back-end database is an option, since you want custom layout of the form with controls on the image.

Graphical/Visual representation of semantic network in webcenter

Hi Experts
As part of a solution we are developing, we require to have a graphical or link analysis view (web based) of the semantic data stored in an Oracle Database.
Ideally, we are looking for a tool/component that we can use to invoke from a portal screen.
Alternatively, are there any APIs available that we could use to develop the web based user interface/graphical viewer of the semantic data.

Hi,
Graphical presentation of link may not realy give you whole a lot of information as to why the link is slow, graphical just provides for utilization stats and perhaps errors stats depending on the graphical software used just as prtg provided by previous poster.
One thing you may want to consider is to implementing in your router netflow and get a freeware netflow collector to see how is your link being utilized , you may need to watch the physical interface stats of your broadband link for errors to rule out physical issues in the link.

Graphical data input for online forms

Is there a field type that allows graphical input data to be used within a livecycle pdf/xml form, i.e. the output from the form will be a series of coordinates the user enters by drawing within the field with a mouse or some other such device?
If not, can the comment tools be used for this purpose? The pencil tool is used to draw anywhere on the form and the coordinates are sent at the point of submission.
I'd be very grateful for comments and suggestions.

Hi,
Potential solutions depend on what the user will be using to access the form. If they are using the full version of Acrobat then they can automatically comment / annotate a form. However if they are using Reader then you will have to enable the form for comments. If you are using LC Reader Extensions to enable the form then you can include the option for the user to comment on the form. On the other hand if you are reader enabling through Acrobat then you cannot reader enable a static or dynamic form allowing a user to place comments / annotate a form. With Acrobat you can only enable a flattened PDF to allow Reader comments.
Attached is an example of a solution I implemented which was based on the current mouse position. There was a list of attributes and conditions to which related to the 10 markers. The user could then position the markers based on the SWOT. This was inspired by Thom Parker's fly swatter examples on www.pdfscripting.com. You might be able to work up a similar solution, where the user clicks a grid and the page coordiantes are assigned to a field. You will proably need to have a constant to convert the page coordiantes to the coordinated system you are working to.

How can I stream labview graphical data to the internet?

I am trying to post my graphical results generated on Labview to an external source eg, a web server? I was hoping it was possible to have the webpage outputting the graph as a stream/image at time steps..?

You can publish your LabVIEW front panel showing graph & data with the help web publish tool, which you find under Tools >>> Web Publish Tool in LabVIEW.
Another way to stream your data through network shared variable, make your application as web service and make web page to recevice that data and show on the web page.
