Gratuitous ARPs do not populate the router ARP Table
Hello,
In order to debug an ARP problem in a Firewall cluster environment, I connected a one-armed router on the public VLAN of the firewall cluster, in order to observe the ARP cache behaviour during a switchover. I configured a loopback interface on this router and a default route to this loopback interface to simulate a real router.
When a switchover occurs between firewall cluster members, the active member sends Gratuitous ARPs for all NATed IP addresses. In my environment, I have 110 NATed addresses configured on the firewall.
By launching a "debug arp" on the one armed router, I clearly see all 110 gratuitous ARPs arriving on the router, but the ARP cache of the router is NOT populated with the 110 entries...
Note : The command is configured on the one armed router :
Router(config)# ip arp gratuitous local
What can be the problem ? Is there any condition for a router to accept Gratuitous ARPs ?
Thank you for any help
Yves
Hi
Gratuitous arp is used when a host wants to inform the switch that the mac-address has changed eg.
You have a cluster which has redundant connections and an IP to mac-address mapping. If the active NIC fails the IP address is moved across to the standby NIC but the standby NIC has a different mac-address. So the cluster sends out a gratuitous arp which informs the switch of the new IP to mac-address mapping.
The reason you might not want to allow gratuitous arp is that you might not want your switch updating it's arp table based on annoucements from devices on the LAN as you could very easily spoof mac-addresses and corrupt the arp cache.

I created a birthday calendar to use in iphoto for calendar. When a new calendar project is started each year, I click on it in. Some how the birthday did not populate the photo calendar this year. The photo calendar is almost complete. Is there a way to add the birthday iCal calendar into the calendar project? I would prefer not to start over.
Hi,
If you first select the calendar on the left, so that its background is highlighted blue/grey, when you make a new events they should be added to that calendar.
Best wishes

Process does not follow the routing ends up in complete status
Installed Adobe LiveCycle server ES 2.5 with SQL Server 2008 as database
And followed the tutorial ‘Create Your First LiveCycle Application’
Deployed it on the server when I test the same
i.e. when the workspace user fills in form details and hits complete button it ends up as status complete
And not assigned to next user in the route
The process does not follow the routing it ends up in complete status
And nothing shows up when trying to record and play back the process
Tried invoking Via workbench too
no errors in the server log
Could this be an installation issue any pointers appreciated
Please adviseIssue with Jboss as it was taking longtime time to start due to low CPU ideally it should not take more than 3 to 5 minutes
Process works now -
Sub:ck11n not picking the routing automatically
Hi Guru,
Create cost estimation (ck11n) ,not picking the routing data automaticallyDear Jothi,
Goto OKKN,check for the costing variant under quantity structure control tab,whether the routing selection ID is assigned properly.
Say if selection ID is 01 and the first priority is for N task list type(that's normal routing),then the system will pick it automatically.
Likewise if it fails to find N,then it searches for the second priority given in the same selection ID.
This is how it picks for costing in CK11N,Also check the routing status in CA03,under header whether it's 4 - released and usage
is for 1 production.
Check and revert

WRT54GS Can not detect the router
We lost the internet connection a few days ago for a couple of hours and since then had to reset the modem and when I try to set up the router with the Easy Link Advisor I get can not detect the router. I am using the router to access the internet and it can't be detected???
I have powered it off enough times and then some and need to get this running to use the laptops.
I am running ver 7 firmware that it came with but I don't know what the exact version I am running or gor that matter where to find it.
Thanksokay went through the firmware upgrade and installed it through 192.168.1.1 to admin tab and upgrade. it got to the reboot part and hung there for a bit, i hit continue or what ever it said and came back upwith a dns error and page unreachable. version installed is what i downloaded 7.50.5. i am still having the same problem, all the lights are lit that are suppossed to be lit, and i am on the internet and running through the router, and when i go into easylink advisor and start the setup process i have to go through the entire thing including selecting the router (which it should know what router it is) though removing the power cord and waiting and still told that it can not detect the router. i have no idea where to go from here. thanks!

Frm - 41337 - can not populate the list from record group
Hi
I have created a form with 4 combo boxes. And i am trying to populate the 4 combo boxes dynamically.
Here is my table structure.
BUS_FUNCTION VARCHAR2(500),
SEQ NUMBER,
STEP1 VARCHAR2(500),
STEP2 VARCHAR2(500),
STEP3 VARCHAR2(500),
STEP4 VARCHAR2(500),
KEYSTEP VARCHAR2(4000),
OBJ_NAME VARCHAR2(500),
SME VARCHAR2(50)
In the fist combo box i am retriving bus_function and second seq and third step1.
i wrote a trigger when_new_form_instance and i am calling a procedure from the trigger.
here is my procedure code.
PROCEDURE fp_get_list IS
l_sql_text VARCHAR2(2000);
BEGIN
l_sql_text := 'SELECT bus_function,bus_function FROM TABS_BUS_FUNC';
lp_populate_list('BUSFUNC.list22','rgcat2',l_sql_text);
l_sql_text := 'SELECT TO_CHAR(SEQ),TO_CHAR(SEQ) FROM TABS_BUS_FUNC';
lp_populate_list('BUSFUNC.BUS_FUNC','rgcat',l_sql_text);
l_sql_text := 'SELECT step1,step1 FROM TABS_BUS_FUNC';
lp_populate_list('BUSFUNC.list20','rgcat1',l_sql_text);
END;
Now the problem is i can able to get the values fro the first two colums. but the third column values are not populating.
i am getting an error frm - 41337 - can not populate the list from record group.
PLease help me in this.
Thanks in advance,
RajuI got answer
i write a code in when-new-form-instance
declare
v_rg_id RECORDGROUP;
v_return number;

v_return := POPULATE_GROUP(v_rg_id);
POPULATE_LIST('emp.deptno', 'RG_LIST');
end;
but remember property of list item must be mapping of others value null and initial value null

Create UDF for table not in the List of tables
Hi all,
I know that my question maybe easy or been asked before, but I couldn't find the answer.
To create a UDF in SAP B1 version 9.0 you should go Tools -> Customization Tools -> User-Defined Fields - Management...
which is ok and working perfect. but my question is:
If I want to create UDF for a table not in the list of tables there what should I do? I need to create 2 UDFs for table OMRC [Manufacturers], and can't find it in master data tables.
anyone had this issue before?
EDIT : Is it good to add the field by using sql server? I know it's possible, but will it be visible in SAP
thank you
Message was edited by: Samira HarounHi Samira,
There is noit a simple link for this, I advise you to study the documentation for TB1300 SBO Development Certification.
Ypu should also have knowledge of .net, and C# or VB, because you have to make a small program/addon to add the fields
Kind regards

Most probably you are appending some records in the data package or deleting from the data package through end routine or expert routine or start routine.
I just solved it.....you will have to import the note 1180163.
Then modify the code which you are using....and include the function module as mentioned in the note 1223532.
You need to add the function module just before you append the records.This will work perfectly.
Thanks

Can not acces the router's set up page
I am trying to access the router's set up page and can't. I typed in 192.168.1.1 and typed in the word "admin" in the password (left the username blank), and get nothing. I tried unplugging, and resetting the router and still dont get anything, it just keeps asking me for the right password. Can someone help me please? I need to get my passphrase (which I forgot), so I can access my wireless internet. I never needed this before now, so I don't remember what it is. I was able to get online just fine, but now all of the sudden it is asking for my passphrase. Can someone please help.
ThanksTo view the router's web pages:
You do not need an Internet connection. The router's "web pages" are built into the router.
Use Internet Explorer, it usually works.
JavaScript must be enabled.
Use a computer that is wired to the router.
In the non-working computer, temporarily turn off your software firewall.
Point your browser to 192.168.1.1 , then login to your router. Your user name should be left blank. Your password is "admin" (with no quotes), unless you changed it.
If you are using Zone Alarm, right click on the ZA icon in the system tray (lower right corner of screen) and then click "Shutdown ZoneAlarm", and see if this fixes your problem. If this does not work, try the following with Zone Alarm: Open the ZAISS control center, go to Privacy, then temporarily turn off Ad Blocking and Cookie Control, and see if that fixes your problem.
Some Zone Alarm users have reported that adding 192.168.1.1 to their list of "trusted" addresses fixed the problem. This trick might also work with other firewalls.
If you are using Noton Internet Security with the Add-on Pack, be sure to turn off the Pop-up Blocker, and the Ad blocker. Some users have reported that they needed to uninstall the entire Norton Add-on Pack.
If you cannot get anything at 192.168.1.1 then perhaps this is not your router's address. Go to "Start" > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
A black DOS box will appear. Type in "ipconfig" (with no quotes), then hit the Enter key. Look at the "Default Gateway". Is it 192.168.1.1 ? Point your browser to the "Default Gateway", then login to your router.
If the above fails, disconnect your modem from the router, and try again. If this corrects your problem, then most likely you have a "modem-router" rather than an ordinary modem. Report back with this problem, and also state the make and exact model number of your modem (not the router).
If all of the above fails, power down your entire system, unplug it from the wall, wait one minute, then power up and try again.
If all of the above tips fail, then reset the router to factory defaults: Power down the router and disconnect all wires from it. Wait one minute. Power up the router, allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes), then press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release the button and allow the router to reset and reboot ( 2-3 minutes). Power down router. Wait one minute. Connect one computer, by wire, to a LAN port on the router. Boot up system. It should work.
If you still have trouble, then you need to download and install (or re-install) the latest firmware for your router. After the firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch. If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it. -

http://apexjscss.blogspot.comJari,
While I removed the sort and it worked, I still needed the report sorted by last name. So I created a view of the table sorted by last name and used the view instead of the table in the report (i.e., load collection) and it worked.

Install Software Does Not See the Router
Trying to install a WRT54GX4 using a DSL modem with Windows XP.
Every time that I get to the point (both the CD and the "Easy Install download) where the software is supposed to find the router I get a message that says that the wireless broadband router is not in the network. The power on, Internet, WLAN, and Ethernet lights are all on on the router.
I am an experienced computer user and have used Linksys wireless products before and have done everything that I know how to do other than manually install the puppy. Everything has been connected properly and in the correct sequence.
Thank you,
AgI am having the same problem. I tried the setup using instructions from the CD included with the router, from a version of the setup downloaded from the LinkSys site, and using the interactive utility at the web site. Everything flows smoothly along until it always fails with a message that it does not recognize that there is a wireless router connected. I tried the online chat help from LinkSys but this was challenging since I only had a single machine and single internet conection and couldn't maintain the connection for the chat session.
I have a Westell DSL modem from BellSouth and they did confirm that my LinkSys wireless router should work OK with my existing DSL service. -
Laptop can not find the router.
Yeah. First of all I'm not so technical so... sorry. Fancy internet talk and such would most likely confuse me.
First of all, I bought a WRT54G2 router. The Staples employee assured me that I'd be able to connect me and my sister's laptops to the internet.
I setting it up exactly as was instructed by the CD-Rom, yet when I go to my laptop and "View Available Wireless Networks", the router does not appear on the list. Despite this though, I've managed to connect my Nintendo DS to the internet. So... where does the problem lie, and what should I do?
Solved!
Go to Solution.Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop/laptop).In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
Click on the Wireless tab
-Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
-Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbours network...
- Set the Wireless channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WEP, Encryption should be 64 bits.Leave the passphrase blank, don't type in anything...
Under WEP Key 1 type in any 10 numbers please(numbers only and no letters eg: your 10 digit phone number) and click on save settings...
Please make a note of WEP Key 1 as this is the Security Key for the Wireless Network...
Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect... -
Maintain the Route Permission Table in the system32 for saprouter
Hi friends,
I am establishing a remote connection to SAP
1) I have installed saprouter in Windows, saprouter service created successfully
2) I followed the link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/4f/992dab446d11d189700000e8322d00/content.htm and according did all configurations
3) Now I don't know how to create and maintain Rout Permission Table in system 32
The following example I got from help.sap.com
156.56..
All host addresses beginning with 156.56
133.27.17.*
All host addresses beginning with 133.27.17
133.27.16.0/24
All host addresses beginning with 133.27.16 (0/24 at the end means that the first 24 bits are relevant, that is, the first three blocks)
156.56.1011xxxx.*
All host addresses from 156.56.176.* to 156.56.191.*.
(Binary interpretation of the third byte of the address. u2018xu2019 is a freely selectable binary value (1 or 0).)
I found complex in above note:
My router IP is 192.168.1.116
Kindly guide me for further help.

[http://help.sap.com/saphelp_45b/helpdata/en/4f/992dab446d11d189700000e8322d00/frameset.htm]
You can check route permission table link in the above link.
Have you posted real IP addresses? if yes, please do not post real IP addresses on the forum for your network security reasons.
Also check following Note:
Note 525751 - Installation of the SNC SAPRouter as NT Service
Hope this helps.
