Gray out default menu items

I am using Forms 9.0.4 and would like to gray out certain fields like RECORD / REMOVE to stop the user from deleting records.
Is there a way to do this?

I would recommend trying to uninstall and reinstall the Creative Cloud app, I suspect the Time Machine backup may have somehow affected the installation.
Quit the Creative Cloud app, run the uninstaller in the Creative Cloud folder in Applications, and then reinstall it from Download Center at https://creative.adobe.com/products

Gray Out a Text Item

Hi:
When I "Set_Item_Property(v_it, Enabled, Property_False)" to my button the code causes the button to "gray out".
I need to "gray out" a text item. However when I apply "Set_Item_Property(v_it, Enabled, Property_False)" to a text item. The items still appears normal but not enterable.
I've forgotten the technique to gray out a text item. Does anyone remember please ?

I AM USING SAFARI 5.1.10. Cannot quit safari application. Quit option is "grayed out" on menu.

Press Command + Option + Esc on your keyboard to force quit Safari.
If that doesn't work, use the Activity Monitor as noted here > OS X: How to quit an unresponsive application using Force Quit
It may be due to malware, or incompatible Safari extensions or plug-ins.

PsCC2014 extensions grayed out in menu

I installed PsCC2014 and the new 2014 extensions manager. I said OK to use extensions and scripts etc. from PsCC.
Extension manager shows my extensions as installed OK. Scripts loaded OK and work. Extensions: none loaded and menu for selecting extensions is grayed out.
If I try to load the most current extension .zxp file, Extension Manager will try to load OK but says the extensions are already loaded and will replace all versions with the new extension (including the extensions in PsCC x32 and x64)....which may not be good?
So what is wrong and how do I fix it?
Was auto installing presets from CC a mistake...and should I re-install PsCC2014? and say no to presets and again reload Ext Mgr?

PS: PsCC and CS6 extensions, panels, and scripts all still working OK and I do not want to screw them up fixing PsCC2014.

I downloaded a different, newer extension for test purposes, and the extensions menu did indeed become active, but the panels I am interested in adding do not show up under Window > Extensions. ... So I guess those extensions need to be updated by their developers

Media kind is grayed out for purchased items

I am using windows 8 and iTunes 11 and when I o to get info, I cannot change media kind for purchased items. It is grayed out.
I can change media kind on all other music, videos, movies etc...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Iweb - Grayed out File menu - Help please!

Hi, I am traveling away from home on a 3 week trip. I started up iweb on the plane yesterday and it wouldn't let me start a new page, or add anything. It is all grayed out. Is there something I am doing wrong?
Problem is I don't have my ilife disk if I need to reload the software. Any way to fix this problem with out reloading? Anywhere I can get it online?

This could be a problem of not having the iweb 1.1.1 update.
Which do you have?
Also if you have the latest 1.1.2 but didn't get the 1.1.1.....welll go back and get 1.1.1

Songs and videos grayed out and missing items.

I've had my ipod for a year with no problems and all of a sudden hundreds of songs and videos have little exclamations marks in circles next to them and an error message pops up that says they can't be found. Also, other songs are all grayed out when you go to info and you can't make any changes. Can anyone shed some light on what is going on?

I have the same problem. Mac OS 10.5.3. Intel iMAC core duo. When I upgraded to iTunes 7.6.2 all of my playlists went grey. Both Music and Movie Playlists.
I installed the latest version of quicktime which did not fix the video playlist greyed out issue as noted in other areas of the support forums.

Disabling Quick Fill method menu items

We are using Quick Fill functionality for Service Request Detail Applet.
Enabled the 4 method menu items and those are working fine.
1. ApplyTemplate
2. SaveTemplate
3. NewFromTemplate
4. NewFromLastTemplate
These methods are based on a vanilla business service 'Quick Fill Service'
We have to disable(gray out) these method menu items for Cancelled SR.
Tried to disable the corresponding command's method: 'LaunchNewFromTemplate' by config (CanInvokeMethod) and script, but it is not graying out method menu item.
Did any one face this issue?
How to disable (gray out) these Quick Fill method menu items? Please advice.

He should be able to use Spotlight to launch Parallels anytime he wants. Unless changed, command-space is the default command to get Spotlight to open. Typing in the name of the program and clicking the down arrow until you select the program and hitting Return will launch the program.

Some menu entries in the main menu bar are hidden if you use the mouse and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu (Bug 626825).
You can see the difference if you use Alt+F to open the File menu or other menus like the Edit menu (Alt+E) and Bookmarks menu (Alt+B) and compare that to what you see if you use the mouse to open the menu after you have made the menu bar visible by tapping Alt or by pressing F10.

I attempted to export about 10 keychain items following the procedure in Keychain Access Help. After selecting the items
I found that Export Items was greyed out. I then selected the items one-at-a-time and found that Export Items was grayed
out for each item. What is the problem? I am the administrator of this computer. Help offers no further help about why
items cannot be exported.

sadly, "some keychain items" seems to be the understatement of the year. I have not found any exportable items yet. And I have no idea why it should be impossible to export a simple Internet password, e.g., or a secure note.
In other words: "Some keychain items can not be exported." – I already read that in the help text. So please elaborate. Which ones cannot be exported (for example). What are possible reasons? Is there anything I can do about the "non-exportability" of an item? And which ones actually can be exported (for example)?

The To Do List Items in Mail are grayed out. I can't edit or mark them :(

As stated in the title, the To Do items in Mail are all grayed out, I can't edit or mark them complete anymore. In iCal, on the other hand, To Do items are working correctly. I just upgraded to Snow Leopard and the To Do items were working fine before, but are not now.

Sorry, I should have explained it more. I had 186 To Do items in the Mail To Do section that were working fine before I installed Snow Leopard (I was able to mark them complete or incomplete, rename, and edit them). After installing Snow Leopard, half of them are grayed out and half of them are working correctly. I am unable to mark the grayed out To Do items complete, or rename or edit them. The To Do items that are grayed out are random, like, it's not all of the complete ones, or all of the ones that are in a month or so.

Help! my Aperture help menu is grayed out

I'm just getting my brand new Mac Pro set up, moving from a 2 1/2 year old Macbook. I have a long unsolved problem of having several libraries and their related vaults crashing, rendering inaccessible about 15,000 referenced images and their vaults. Typically what happens is that an Aperture library I've been using for a while quits almost instantly after opening, and the library's vault(s) can't be accessed at all. I've spent perhaps 30 1 To 1 training hours and many hours on the phone with appl care on this problem, and I'm very grateful for all their devoted effort, but we haven't had any luck understanding, much less solving, this problem.
The first time it happened, the library had 6 gigs of images in it from a weekend of shooting. I thought that having 6GBs free (of 55) might have something to do with it, but it kept happening to later libraries even after there were 25 GBs free. With each new library it seemed they would crash at a smaller size, even 1-2 GBs. So my strategy evolved into creating new libraries every few days so they wouldn't crash.
Has anyone had a similar problem and fixed it? Generally most of the folks helping me don't seem to think it's a computer problem, or a software problem, for that matter. Some think my camera (Nikon D70) might have been sending out an occasional corrupted image, but the crashes have continued with a Nikon D 300 I bought new a month ago, making that theory seem very untenable. I'm hoping that using the beastly Mac Pro will help with at least part of the problem. I needed it anyway because my shooting has become pretty high volume recently (3,000 12 MB images per week).
Any suggestions on a fix or a strategy for importing this mess into the Mac Pro? It sounds like the safest way to import is by project. I have about 20 libraries, about 5 of which are crashed, and about 100 projects. I'd really like to have the recommended 1-3 libraries, but it's pretty daunting to think of losing all my metadata and edits to a single crash.... Thanks for your interest.

Well, this is a programming question more than a question on how to use the Leopard environment (you might want to post to one to the programming forums).
However, basically, you can't remove the Dock menu items that the Dock itself adds (add/remove from dock, etc.). You can add your own menu items, however. Use the interface builder to create a nib that has a menu in it -- call it something catchy like MyMenu.nib.
Then in the application property list file (Info.plist) add property called "AppleDockMenu" and set the value to a string that's the name of your nib file (without the .nib extension).
Subsequently, you treat that menu just as you would the menus in your menu bar. That's all there is to it.
