GRC App Names

So from my understanding...
Risk Analysis and Remediation = Compliance Calibrator
Compliant User Provisioning = Access Enforcer
Enterprise Role Management = Role Expert
Superuser Privileged Management = Firefighter
This might be a silly question but in what GRC AC version is this "name change" official? 5.2? 5.3? As in, is there really a "CC 5.2" or should it truly be "RAR 5.2" ?

You're totally right regarding the new names. As far as I know this name change is only official from Access Control 5.3 (at least even the last SP of Access Control are still using the old names which is not the case for AC 5.3).
So I would say CC 5.2 --> RAR 5.3

How do you use WLST to get a deployed Apps name?

I am writing an application update script to make updating our environments quicker/easier with the following code from an ant build file:

However, b/c our application has a version in the manifest file, our application name looks like this:
AppName-BuildNumber-TimeOfBuild
Since the TimeOfBuild is always different from build to build it is impossible to hard code this value. Is there a way to get the application's name using WLST?

This shows me all applications deployed on the server, but inorder to go any farther I need the name of a specific app. I'm sure I am just overlooking an mbean somewhere, but I can't seem to find it! Any ideas??

when you connect your phone with your computer and use itunes you can click on the phone
and click on an update button
about facebook games then think they are all flash based and iphones cant do flash so thats not possible

How do I hide the app names on the Dock?

I want to turn off the app names that display on the Dock. If it doesn't exist, I think it should be done. We (most people, I guess) already know most of the apps on their Dock. So hiding it will help making the interface more sleek.

2- Is it allowed to put an unknown coach's name in the app "Mr. John's Tips"?

1.) You wouldn't be the iFirst....just know that there is no one here that can promise what will and won't be accepted.
2.) Do you have legal rights to use another person's name? Apple may ask...

Problem: IAP Product is unable to restore, Paid app has to buy again after reserving app name

I face to 2 problems with my app after reserving app name for published app.
1. IAP
I published my WP8 apps ~1 year ago (we didn't have to reserve app name at this time).
Recently, I reserved an app name (same with published app) and published app. After that, our customers feedback that they're not able to restore IAP product that already bought. I tried with my personal account and it's true. It's strange that this
only happen on Windows Phone 8.1 OS. It's still be ok to restore IAP on Windows Phone 8 OS.
2. Paid app
Same situation above, after reserving app name for published app and release an update. This app is unable to download on both Windows Phone 8 & 8.1 OS for users who already bought. Please check error message below. I tried to restart the device but
problem still occur.
Both 2 problems become serious for us because our customers who purchased IAP product and paid app think we're cheating them.
I tried to contact to WP Support but they're investing for 1 week and now there is no answer for me.
I really need someone here could support us to roll back our apps to the stage that before I reserving an app name or fix it ASAP for us.

I'm also experiencing the same issue for my paid (with trial) app and it's becoming a serious problem for my users. I have an open ticket with Support for a month now and the case is still under investigation with the root cause not established yet. Interestingly,
the issue also started right after assigning a reserved app name.
Ocean68, by any chance, did you ever offer your paid app for free in the past? Just trying to see if there's a correlation here. Thanks.

Bug: Music app name in app drawer not displayed correctly in my language

After the app name changed from Walkman to Music, in app drawer the name in Greek is "Μουσ." insteed of "Μουσικη" and in all other apps the titles are full without any "." If phone language is changed to english or other languages the "Music" is displayed fully.
Is there any way to change that ? Kind of silly request but it doesn't look good, to me at least !

How do i localize the app name in an air ios app?

I am trying to compile an adobe air app for iOS with Danish app name? I can get localization to work with eg English, French and German, but not with Danish...
I put
<name> <text xml:lang="en"> English </ text> <text xml:lang="da"> and Danish </ text> </name>
in the app.xml before i compile with the adt, but after compile i can see that only the English name is created in the InfoPlist.strings of the ipa.
Any ideas on how to achieve a localized app name?

Helo fideld, officially Adobe Air don't support Danish language. But I may help you.

You may understand that patched adt.jar was produced by me and not by Adobe.
I just done this for you as a part of community friendly support. It's allow to add "da" language.
1. Open your *-app.xml
2. Add lang="da"
3. Go to supportedLanguages in XML and add "da" also there so it's will be like "en fr de da".
Patched ADT was made from original latest 4.0.0.1619 and you must use http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/air.html 4.0.0.1619 before apply this patch

How do I put a space in my App Name? Portal App Loader won't let me!

When I Put a space in my product name (Example: 'Cool App'), it builds just fine and shows up on my DEV iphone with the space.
However, when I try to release it that way to Apple, the Application Loader in Portal complains that no spaces are allowed. I tried to just rename my file, but that didn't seem to work. So I was forced to release it as 'CoolApp'
I know I have seen users out there with spaces in their app names, just wondering if there are various settings in my Project settings I need to update.

So, if I set my PRODUCT NAME in the project properties to "Cool App", then should I manually change the following settings in my Info.plist to delete the space:
Bundle display name: currently set at ${PRODUCT_NAME}
Bundle indentifier: currently set at ${com.companyname.${PRODUCT_NAME:identifier}
Bundle name: currently set at ${PRODUCT_NAME}
Based on what you said, then my product name is automatically being set with spaces when copied to the Bundle display name, identifier and bundle name, which is probably causing the error I suppose.

Bug in calendar apis with localized app name

I create a new calendar in my WP (xaml) app like this:

In Package.appxmanifest I have defined application "Display name" as "ms-resource:ApplicationName" because my app's name must be localized. App name gets localized correctly in app icon (application list) so the definition in
Package.appxmanifest works correctly. However, if I open the default calendar app's settings (which displays all calendars in device), my app name is not shown correctly (there reads something like "{....ms-resource:ApplicationName......}"). Also
AppointmentCalendar.SourceDisplayName returns the same invalid string.
I guess this must be a bug in AppointmentCalendar.SourceDisplayName and/or in calendar app?

I'll appreciate your suggestions as Firefox is not opening. A window warns: "XULRUNNER. Error: App: Name not specified in application.ini"

When trying to open Firefox a small warning window labeled XULRUNNER is appearing, with the text: "Error. App: Name not specified in application.ini", and an "accept" button. When you click in "accept" the warn ing window closes, but then nothing more happens.
I have no idea what is going on. Any ideas?

Basically I've got an original idea with a name that isn't used already on itunes.
Ideally I want to reserve the app name and do it before I finish production of the application.
Is a trademark my only option?

Have you ever added an app via iTunes Connect?
If so, you may have noticed that some of the content and at least one of the images are required before you move thru to the next form.
Once you pick a name and keywords as an example, those can't be changed until you update, while some of the related info can be modified whenever you feel like it.
Have you noticed the provision to add a binary later? If you do the minimums that are required when adding, and check the box to upload the binary later and then save, you've just staged an app.
The idea is to take this step before you spend months developing an app so that you don't find out at the last minute that you suddenly have no choice but to change the name.
Once you have the name staged, you can be confident of using it after completing development, getting ready with any marketing etc. In some cases as one example, devs need the name early so that it can be put into print media that might take weeks or months to hit the shelves.

I've downloaded 3 application on my device 9800.
at last i've download one app from Blackberry App World.
When i open that application, Its throws error.

Have you tried a Battery Pull Restart ? As you are constantly getting that error and unable to open any Apps that you download then to rule out any Software issue please reload your device Software ,but do a complete Backup of your device before that :

Hi, i was wondering how the app name is displayed like that in the image shown below??

KT I have the same issue I need to change my seller name Im registered as a business my programmer used a generic name as the seller and now Im stuck with it. I logged into the devoloper account and I cant see a way to change it.Please let me know if there is a way around this
