GREP - Exclude Period from Selection

Hello,
I have been fighting with an expression for a while now. I have a document that formatted poorly when being pasted into InDesign, with every line ending in a carriage return. I am trying to find an expression that selects all carriage returns except those preceded by a period.
The image above illustrates what I am trying to select. I am unfortunately still fairly new to GREP, but have attempted a few expressions, none of which have wanted to cooperate.
[^\.]~b will successfully ignore the period, however, also results in it selecting the previous character:
If anyone may be able to provide assistance on the correct expression to use, it would be very much appreciated.
Thank you.

Use a negative look-behind instead: (?<!\.)~b
Keep in mind that there other punctuation marks that can end a paragraph, so this is not guaranteed not to fail. You might do better to find ([\.\?'")!\s])(~b) and replace with $1

  • 'Exlude from Selection' not possible

    Hi Friends
I'm trying to use 'Exlude from Selection' for filters or variables with slect options in BI 7000
for values defined as 'contains pattern'.
I.e. I just want to exlude e.g. values beginning with XYZ from selection.
It' stiill possible to define a string like 'XYZ' with symbol foer contains pattern, but there is
no way to exclude it from selection in context menu or with red icon (both are greyes out).
We are on SP 19, Gui 7100 OL 14.
    Thanks in advance
    Jioe

    Hi Rakesh,
thanks for reply, I was afraid of this kind of answer
..just another useful feature not longer available in BEx. My expectation to a new release up to now was , that processes shouldbe faster, easier and more convienent for users. Thanks to all developers who make work so much more efficient for us customers in such an impressive way....

  • PP-PI Exclude time period from scheduling

    I have a design question,
I'd like to exclude a certain time-period from scheduling, how do I do this?
    Example:
From 1st of January - 1st of february, I cannot plan any production for material A (I can plan production for other materials). For the rest of the year, I'd like to spread my production for material A equally. How do I design this?

    Hi,
This can be done by locking the workcenters.
    1. For all your workcenters goto capacity tabpage and choose capacity header.
    2. choose intervals and shifts and choose intervals.
    3. Enter the period as valid from 01.09.2007 and  valid to 31.10.2007
    4. In the same line goto work days and choose 0 ie non working days( if mentioned as working days it will be overrided as non working days) and save.
    5. For this period eventhough you have reqmts while converting the planned orders
you will get pop up message that no routing is selected.
6.It is upto you decide whether this planned order can be converted with default values from operation ( ie from tcode opjg).
    7. You can exit
    8. And also you can delete out dated planned orders by using roll forward period.
Hope you got some solution to your problem and reward if useful.

  • Excluding values from variables selection

    Hi,
I would like to exclude certain values from the variable selection. There are several plants available in my InfoProvider. But I only would like to show the plant A100 to A400 in the query selection. Is it possible to realize it without using authorisations?
Thanks a lot for your help
    Regards
    Marco

    Hi Marco,
This can be done in several ways...
Make ur variable as selection option. And in Variable screen select Selection Options icon which is next to Save. Under Exclude from selection tab, enter the values that has to be excluded.
If ur variable is user exit variable write an  ABAP code to select Plant Values between A100 and A400 using I_STEP=1.

  • I am unable to synch music from selected playlists in my iTunes library onto my new iPod Classic, despite meticulously following the User Guide.

I just purchased an iPod Classic, and after making sure I had the latest ver. of iTunes on my Intel MacMini, printed out the User Guide and carefully began learning how to operate the iPod. My first step was to ensure I had manual control (vs. auto synch) because I want only selected songs and playlists on the iPod, not my whole iTunes Library.
On pg. 24 of the Guide is the topic "Synching music from selected playlists onto iPod Classic." Just what I wanted. OK, I selected iPod "in the source list" (aside: Shouldn't it be "in the device list?" I dispair of imprecision). This brought up the iPod Summary page, showing I had selected Open iTunes when connected and Manually manage music and videos. Next I clicked on the Music tab.
This presented me with Synch Music next to an empty check box. Below it, and entirely grayed out was:
Entire music library (showing a checked box)
Selected Playlists, artists, albums and genres (next to an unchecked box).
There's also a third grayed out item: Include music videos that is checked.
When I selected Synch Music, I got the message: "Are you sure you want to removed existing mlusic, movies and TV shows from the iPod and synch with this iTunes LIbrary?   I selected Cancel because:
    1. The grayed option Entire Music Library is checked, not mly preferred option of Selected playlists, artists, albums and genres. .
    2. I can't find anywhere in the User Guide how to "Select the Playlists" I want to synch to my iPod. At present all I have in iTunes is my list of playlists in the left hand side bar.
OK, my first thought was the checked box in the iPod's Summary window: Manually manage music and videos. So I went there and unchecked it, which immediately brought up an alert  to the effect "Are you sure you want to automatically synch your entire iTunes library, etc. etc...? I quickly cancelled. Thus, I seem to be in a Catch-22 situation.
    So the questions are:
How do I resolve the Synch Music issue so I am assured only selected playlists will be sent to my iPod?
How do I create a list of playlists in my iTunes library to be transferred to my iPod?
How do I manually move a playlist in my iTunes library to my iPod's lists of playlists?
Any help much appreciated. Thanks to all.
    John in the Pacific Northwest

For the immediately problem, you can shut down the computer and disconnect the iPod.
There may be a process (program) running on your computer in the background that continuously monitors mounted volumes for things like maintenance, data corruption, and malware.  The iPod's storage is a mounted volume.  If you know of any such program, such as an "anti-virus" utility, and it has settings that allow you to exclude certain volumes, you can set it to ignore the iPod "disk" when connected.
Also, if you are using automatic syncing (not the manual method) to load the iPod, and you have Enable disk use turned ON, turn it OFF.  With Enable disk use turned OFF, iTunes only mounts the iPods disk when syncing, then immediately unmounts the disk.  Thus, other processes you have running on your PC (not iTunes) will have less of a chance to make the disk "in use" and cause this problem.  You won't even have to eject the iPod before disconnecting.

  • Excluding record from reports

    Hi,
I have a record in cube with combination material number M1,Plant P1,batch B1.
while running some of the report I want to exculde this record appearing in the bex reports.
    Please advice me.
    Thanks
    Keith.

    Hi,
Where ever you are using the values of the said objects, restrict the values which you don't want. After restricting, right click on that values and select Exclude from selection from the context menu.
It will not show those values in the report.
    Hope this helps you...

  • Create a flat list from SELECTION-SCREEN

    Hi,

  • How to exclude reports from HIS in MSS 60.1.20?

Does anyone know how to exclude some of the HIS reports from the tree? I am on a 4.6c system. I see that the table T77I3 contains the listing of REPIDs that are used to populate the REPOS table in the function module HR_HIS_READ. If I try to maintain this table using SM30, I see that SAP only allowed for updating the text descriptions. I was thinking the easiest way to remove items from the report tree without deleting them would be to change the REPID to just add an X or something to the end of the code so that the check against TRDIR will fail and exclude the item from the list. Does anyone know the best way to exclude reports from the HIS reports in the MSS -> My Staff -> Reporting -> Report Selection -> HIS Reports section?
I will award points to the answer!

Hi, did u find a solution for this? I'm having the same requirement.
One way of solving the problem would be to copy the HR_HIS_READ function and change it to exclude the undesired reports. Then change the MDT Scenario by executing the Define Structure of Function Codes item in the IMG.

  • Excluding connections from certain hosts in log file

Is it possible to exclude connections from certain IP addresses from

    No, this is not possible
What you can potentially do is to use the log file rotation and do something like a grep -v to supress the lines that you don't want in the rotated file that won't be used anymore by the server.

  • EXCLUDE field from logical db

    Hi All,
I need to exclude a particular selection option from a custom program which
uses the standard selection screen of a logical database.
Will I be able to EXCLUDE it manually after going to the Selection include after
geting the Access key? Already we are using a selection screen version for the cusom program.
I hope to make the change in the same version only.
    Please comment on the feasibility.
    Thanks,
    Neethu

    Hi Neethu,
With Access key you will be able to modify it. But at the same time you need to go through the entire source code of the LDB & analyze its impact. If you dont need that field to be displayed you can change the source code to make it invisible instead.

  • Logic on Period From and Period To

    Hi Experts,
Can any one please provide sample logic on Period from and Period To.
I have Period From and Period To dates in the selection screen. I need to write logic using Loop.
    For Example:-
    Loop/do loop for u2018period fromu2019 to u2018period tou2019.
o     If the period is from 08/2010 to 11/2010 then we have 4 loops (08/2010, 09/2010, 10/2010, 11/2010); note the period is store as u2018YYYYMMu2019 201008.

  • Is there a way to exclude files from source paths using patterns

    Hi
Does anyone know of any way to exclude files from source paths using patters rather than individually selecting the files? UI doesn't allow to specify any pattern. But if you look at the jpr file there are other places where patterns are allowed. Can the same pattern be copied and applied to excluded files?
    Pat

Drag the files, or press Option when pasting them; this accesses the Move To function.
