Grey Bar On TV Watching Pirates of Caribbean Bought From iTunes - WTH?!?!
I bought Pirates of The Caribbean 3 from the iTunes Store, and have transferred it to my iPod video(5G), connecting it to my tv via my composite cable. Problem is(And this has me very angry), I have a VERY obtrusive grey bar sitting at the bottom of the video, making it very difficult to watch anything without focusing on the damned bar!!
OK - I would move on to trying to reset/restore the iPod at this point, if you haven't already.
Reset:
Ensure the HOLD switch is OFF so that there is NO orange color showing beneath the switch. Then, press and hold the MENU and the SELECT (center) buttons together for about 10 seconds, until you see an Apple logo. When you see the Apple, let go of the buttons and the iPod will restart itself.
Restore:

Do you need Internet acess to watch a music video bought from iTunes
I want to buy a MUSIC VIDEO off of iTunes but I don't want to wait for our Internet to load it each time I want to watch it so if I buy one I want to make sure I can watch it no matter where and when is that possible. I would buy it off my iPod touch and load it right off the Internet.
When you buy it, then it is stored on your computer. You do not need internet to acces it at all.

Can I watch consecutive tv shows bought from iTunes on iPad iso7?
Bit the bullet and downloaded the new iso7 on my daughters iPad 1. Wish I never did I now cannot play consecutive tv shows (same series/season) there is no play button anymore when I open the purchased series/season. Under settings> Videos I've only got the option of watching them where I left off or from the start every time. Is there any way to change this so I can watch the shows consecutively instead of having to open a new show each time the previous one finishes?
If the answer is no, can I restore my iPad to go back to the previous ISO system?
TIAYes, just double click the movie in iTunes. It will start playing in the bottom left corner of iTunes. Click on the video in the lower left corner (on the actual video that is playing) and it will open in a bigger view with a fullscreen option.

Is there any way to watch a downloaded TV show from iTunes on my iPad without wifi? I have an iPhone if this helps.
If the TV Show is downloaded on your iPad, you don't need Wi-Fi to watch it.

When I am downloading a tv show and try to play it at the same time, not matter the remaining time of the download, itunes stop the download with an error after a couple of minutes. (error 50.) Somethimes, it just freeze instead. I am able to resume the download and watch again till the next stop.
I have no problem just playing or just dowloading, only when doing both. I have this problem since version 10.6 only. This affect all my new downloads since then.
My first guest would be a hard drive saturation that can't handle the load. Maybe itunes stop downloading when the hard drive is too busy. But again, never had this problem before. It it was the case, the playing should stop, not the download !
My config is iunes 10.6.040, windows 7 64 bits.
Thanks for your help. This has been happening on my Windows 7 64-bit computer as well same exact problem with the latest version of iTunes. It does look like they have some kind of bug in this new version where the downloading process just dies when it has to deal any I/O wait from file playback, really a bad bug as this is a core function of iTunes that shouldn't have gotten through the testing process. I have to say that iTunes is one of the buggiest pieces of software I have ever used in my entire life, all kinds of regressions and bugs with every update and they are on version 10.6.x ! Apple must have some poor developers in the iTunes team, hey guys put down the bong and chips and actually establish a standard continuous integration and testing process with good test coverage for iTunes! You shouldn't have regressions on such core functionalities especially with a software as mature as this, what's going on? Or is it that you've been instructed to make the software a crappy as possible for Windows so everyone goes to buy a Mac and OS X?
More bugs just off the top of my head in the latest iTunes 10.6.x:
- In the download screen when you double click to playback a movie while it is downloading, if you pause the movie the play button goes grey, you cannot start playing the paused movie again without quitting the movie and clicking to start it again from iTunes
- The next/prev chapter buttons during movie playback don't work at all anymore, they simply crash the movie, close the window and go back to iTunes
- Many times after getting the unknown error -50 or -39 because you tried to play a movie while it was downloading, when you go back to the download window to restart the download iTunes loses all the downloaded movie content it had it starts over for no apparent reason! Wonderful!
For a company that sells/rents really expensive movies and music you would expect a really high standard go into the software development process, apparently shareholders are more important than customers. -

As long as the film has been fully downloaded then you should be able to watch it whilst offline.

Can you watch a movie you rented from iTunes on your apple TV?
I rented a movie from Itunes on my Mac. Can I watch it on my Apple TV somehow. I am at home now and don't want to sit and look at my computer screen.
Is there a way to stream it to the apple tv?Assuming home sharing is enabled, the rental will appear on your Apple TV once it has fully downloaded on your Mac.

A few days ago I bought a season of the series Psych off of iTunes. I was able to watch the first bunch without a problem but now all of a sudden when I try to watch one it says "You do not have permission to access the requested resource". I tried restarting my phone but that do not help. I cleared up a lot of space on my phone as well. I have and iPhone 4 with the update of iOS 6.1.3.
Are you using the same Apple ID that the purchase was linked to? I had this issue with a shared device, and the other person had logged out of my ID and logged in with hers.
If it's the same ID, then try redownloading the purchase. -
Granted my Sony laptop VGN-FE770G is 6 years old it no longer plays movies or tv shows thru iTunes
Have tried the troubleshooting tips, i.e., new user account, safe mode, etc and nothing works.
I'd like to get a really good refurbished MAC as I have had so much fun with the iPad, iPhone and iPod....even the old iPaq before it went kaput.
any thoughts on which model? 13 inches is a good size, editing movies?
KarenMany thanks, Karen.
Open your QuickTime control panel (either via the Control panels, or by going "Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences" in the Quicktime Player). In the Advanced tab, uncheck Enable Direct3D video acceleration:
... and click OK.
Quit the QuickTime Player if you have it open. Restart the PC and try watching the videos in iTunes again. Do they play now? -
We are trying to watch avengers on our samsung hd plasma 1080i. I plugged USB into tv and phone. Selected the wise link option on my remote. Tv says nothing is plugged in. I have an iPhone and an iPad. So I can do either product for the download. If someone out there knows what I am doing wrong please tell me. Maybe I am using the wrong plug?? Just using phone charger plug in with USB on other end.
As Rudegar pointed out, the AV cable is an adequate option. But another option is to purchase an Apple TV. That's the only way to use Airplay from an iOS device (for now). I'm pretty sure no OEM TV's support Apple's Airplay technology as of yet. Apple wants you to purchase the Apple TV so don't hold out hope that they'll license the tech to TV manufacturers any time soon.
Check out Apple's demo of Airplay on their website and see if that's an option you might like. The AV cable is cheaper but IMO a cable of any kind is a cumbersome work around. And the Apple TV allows you to also play music and look at your pictures from any iOS device as well.
Re: your other question: "Can I see my iPad on the TV in general when hooked up?". The answer is, "Not yet". Only the "output" (IE: music, video, slideshows) can be seen through Airplay or the AV cable. You can't use the TV as a second monitor for your iOS device.
Lastly, you can't "break" your device simply by trying to hook it up to your TV. I had the same issue with my father this holiday with trying to convince him he couldn't break his camera by trying to hook it directly up via the USB connector on the TV.

Watching a film in quicktime from itunes libary
I have been told I need to install quicktime to watch a hd movie from my library, which I have also downloaded to my pc. I have installed it but now cannot sync accounts to watch the movie. suggestions please
Did you turn off the ATV? Or watch something else in the meantime? That will flush the rental. You won't be charged again (you have 30 days prior to watching and 24/48hrs, depending on your location, once you start) but it will need to reload.
You can go to the settings tab, iTunes store, check for rentals. Once rented it normally shows the poster image of said movie in the top left when you navigate to the movies tab
