Group as Choice Section

Hi,
When to use "Group as Choice Section"?
I am tryng to hide and show a either Row.Textfiled1 or Row.Textfield2 based on the Binding value.
At present I am able to do this using Scrip, and 2 Rows.
The XML Structure would be like;
<Test>
          <Need>true</Need>
          <ColorRed>Print in Red</ColorRed>
          <ColorBlue>Print in Blue</ColorRed>
<Test>
<Test>
          <Need>false</Need>
          <ColorRed>Print in Red</ColorRed>
          <ColorBlue></ColorRed>
<Test>
<Test>
          <Need>false</Need>
          <ColorRed>Print in Red</ColorRed>
          <ColorBlue></ColorRed>
<Test>
This is how I have done now,
*** I have bounded Test[*] to a table. Have 2 rows
And will only display the Color Text depending on the <Need> element value.
*** If the <Need>==true, display value from <ColorBlue> and if need is ==false
display value from <ColorRed>
Right now this how the coding is;
1. Got 2 Rows each having 2 textfileds, one bound to <Need> and the
other one to ColorRed in the first row and to ColorBlue in the second row.
2. In the initialize event of the Row, i check on the  value of textfield that is bound to <Need> to
assess its Rawvalue, if it is true or false the appropriate ROWs are made  visible.
3.Initially both rows are hidden.
4.The Textfiled bound to the <Need> are always invisible as there is no need to show this value.
Is there a way to use the "Group as Choice Section" and avoid the above method of scripting.
Any explanations would be helpful.
Thanks
Ds

You resolved the problem! I have a couple of follow-up questions:
1. Is it possible to remove the + and - buttons on the second line of information? It seems redundant given the first + adds everything I need.
2. I get an error when I click the - button to remove the group.
Please tell me exactly what you did to fix this. The table below needs the same thing--I would like to learn to do what you did so I can fix the other table and know how to do this in the future. Thank you!

    Are you running C++ 5.3 and C++ 5.8 in the same directory, or on the same object files?
    C++ 5.3 uses a template cache by default, but C++ 5.5 and later do not use the cache unless you specify -instances=extern explicitly. In addition, there are differences in the way the two compilers generate template instances.
    We say that generally you can use binaries created by on older compiler when linking a program with a newer compiler, but there are some limitations when using very old compilers like C++ 5.3.
    If you switch between C++ 5.3 and 5.8, it is risky to share C++ .a or .o files, and risky to run both compilers in the same directory without cleaning out all binaries (and removing the template cache) in between runs.
    If you have been mixing compilers and C++ .o/.a files this way, try cleaning out everything and rebuilding from the beginning using one compiler. Let me know if this was the problem.

  • Using groups within choice

    Is it impossible to use group within choice ?
    I am trying to do the following:
    <xs:group name = "attrib_val_group">
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element ref="attrib"/>
    <xs:element ref="value"/>
    </xs:sequence>

    <xs:element ref = "attrib"/>

    </xs:group>
    <xs:element name="coroprate">

    <xs:group ref="attrib_val_group"/>
    <xs:group ref="attrib_attrib_group"/>
    </xs:choice>
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    The problem is that during parsing the parser shouts on:
    <coroprate>
    <attrib>..</attrib>
    <attrib>..</attrib>
    </coroprate>
    While the parser does accept:
    <coroprate>
    <attrib>..</attrib>
    <value>..</value>
    </coroprate>

    Modify group attrib_attrib_group.
    <xs:group name = "attrib_attrib_group">

    Hi Guru's,
    In R12.1.3 Application - Purchasing Super User
    I am looking for personalization of self service page in PO Buyer work center for Requisition update.
    I wanted choice list/LOV Group by in Request header of Requisition self service page to be defaulted to "Requisition" instead "Default".
    I didn't find option in self service personalization of this page. Can some body help me in this how to default it to requisition.
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi,
    You need to do it by profile option setup.
    Setup the profile option "PO: Default Requisition Grouping" to "Requisition" at the site level.
    You have two options - "Default" and "Requisition".
    Thanks,

  • Genre Audiobook missing (or lack of grouping in Audiobook section)

    I got my new ipod nano 3rd gen today and put some audiobooks on it. They show up in the Audiobook meny. Annoyingly enough each track on it's own, but I know that's how it is even if I wish that a way of grouping them by author and book would be implemented soon.
    However, previously I've done (with my 2nd gen nano) instead is to chose Genre -> Audiobook and thus getting the grouping by artist and album (author and book), but now there is no Audiobook in the genre menu... How do I get the Audiobook genre to show? Or is it impossiple?

  • How to group and delete sections of emails at one time

    I would like to be able to place seconds of emails together and delete them without having to delete each email one at a time, or to use ctrl and click and delete

    You can star the offending messages but I think this may be no more efficient than control-click etc.
    I use sorting and the QuickFilter to get similar messages grouped together. Then shift-click and ctrl+a (to select all) allow a block of messages to be selected and deleted with one press of the delete key.

    I changed your data to match what you were searching for, then I noticed that your third parameters for add_field_section were wrong, so I changed that. The query then returns rows, as demonstrated below. However, I suspect that add_field_section is not what you want to use with your XML data since you have tags with the same names within different categories.

  • How to insert Group into Report Footer or have two Groups in same level

    Hi,
    I am wondering whether it is possible to have two indepent groups---they are at the same level, in one report.
    I tried insert a group into Footer section or just insert two unnested groups in Group Section, but seems undoable.
    Thank you for your help!

    My suggestion will work.  The basic layout would be:
    G1Ha - printed when grouping field = 1  (your "Group header #1" above)
    G1Hb - printed when grouping field = 2  (your "Group Header #2 above)
    Da  - printed when grouping field = 1 (your "AccountNumber1 Account Name1" under group header 1)
    Db - printed when grouping field = 2 (your "Subreport for AccountNumber1 under group header 2)
    G1Fa - printed when grouping field = 1 (your "Group Footer #1 above)
    G1Fb - printed when grouping field = 2 (your "Group Footer #2 above).
    Since the grouping field is the primary grouping, the order that the formats will display is:
    G1Ha
    Da
    Da
    Da
    G1Fa
    G1Hb
    Db
    Db
    Db
    G1Fb
    matching your example perfectly.
    HTH,
    Carl

  • Authorization Group Material Master

    Hello,
    i am trying to restrict a user from accessing a single material. I am using Authorization Object M_MATE_MAT for this. When I use transaction mm03 to go on the material master I see a field for the Authorization Group but when I go to the same view in mm02 (View: Basic Data 1) I don't see the field Authorization Group or the section Material Authorization Group. Where can I enter the Authorization Group for a Material Master.
    Thanks everyone - I'd really appreciate an answer,

    HI..
    You will have to make the field to display in OMS9.
    Double click on MM02 - - >then for number 36 make the field as optional entry or required entry as desired.
    Right now it must be showing in Hide.
    After changing you will be able to see in MM02 and make the entry there.
    Hope it helps,
    Swapnil

    In a report, I have various sub-sections in the Details section. Each section represents a category and is connected with SQL command which uses LEFT OUTER JOIN.
    The first section is the main section and the subsequent sections are the child sections.
    Sometimes, a sub-section (other than the first main sub-section) picks multiple records of that category. In this case the report extends to multiple pages. Each report displays one record of this sub-section.
    I want to show the the same sub-section multiple times in the same report as opposed to multiple reports that are now automatically generated by Crystal Reports.
    How to handle this issue?

    This is a .NET programming forum related to Crystal Reports. Your question is best suited for our report design forum below. Also, when you post your question it will be helpful if you use report design terminology. We have elements like Report Header, Page Header, Groups, and Details sections. Just mentioning "sections" doesn't give us a good idea about what you are attempting to do.
    Check out the grouping options and see if it helps. You might need to create a formula to help you with your grouping though.
    If you like, I can move this to the design forum.

  • Oracle 8i vs Oracle 9/10: Group by and order of returned rows

    Hello people,
    I've searched the forum for threads on this topic: the order of returned rows in queries which have a GROUP BY clause, and found out that Oracle states that GROUP BY clause does not guarantee that the order of returned rows will be the same every time nor the rows will be ordered someway. I've confirmed this information in the Oracle documentation for the GROUP BY clause for Oracle 9 and 10. But I couldn't find the same in the Oracle 8 documentation (SQL Reference), in which the GROUP BY clause section does not mention anything about the order of returned rows in queries which have a GROUP BY (except for something about using a GROUP BY and a HAVING clause together, which is not helpful in this situation).
    Besides, I have an Oracle training book: "Introduction to Oracle: SQL and PL/SQL" for Oracle 8, where the GROUP BY clause is said to perform a default ordering, here is the text:
    "By default, rows are sorted by ascending order of the columns included in the GROUP BY list. You can override this by using the ORDER BY clause".
    So, I need to find out if Oracle 8 GROUP BY clause did some kind of sorting over the returned rows as it is said in the training book and if this behavior changed in Oracle 9. And more important: where to look for to find documentation about this change.
    Thank you, guys, I really hope someone could help me with this.
    Fer.

    And this statement from Tom (taken from the link above) says more about why the sort (even when done because of group by) should not be relied upon:

    and even when it does sort as a by product of its processing, the sort is a

    Dear Friends,
    We have 26 section codes and number group, so shall we define 26*5 = 130 Number groups?
    where system may not accept number group up to 99 only how can we move ahead in these case, the same number groupis repeated to multiple setion code.
    Is it correct to assign same number group to multiple section code, means when two different section codes with same Number group means same number rnge was sharing by two section codes.
    Is it correct?
    Please guide me

  • Group Footer Sum Problem

    Hi Oracles!
    I am using Crystal 8.5 and I am having a problem getting a SUM in a group footer. In the column I wish to add up and place in the footer has a formula field with the following:
    Sum ({TicketDetail.packetsSold}, {Product.description})*{Product.costPrice}
    This give me a total per line of the cost but I would like to add the lines together.
    I am a novice...
    Many thanks
    David

    Hi David,
    OK got it!
    Here's what you need to do:
    1) Modify the formula to:
    whileprintingrecords;
    numbervar fin_sum;
    fin_sum := fin_sum + (Sum ({TicketDetail.packetsSold}, {Product.description})*{Product.costPrice});
    Sum ({TicketDetail.packetsSold}, {Product.description})*{Product.costPrice};
    2) Create another formula with this code and place it in the Group footer 3 section:
    whileprintingrecords;
    numbervar fin_sum;
    3) You then need a reset formula so that this sum adds up values only to the respective groups:
    whileprintingrecords;
    numbervar fin_sum := 0;
    This reset formula needs to be placed on the Group Header section. I guess in this case it will be the Group header 3.
    Let me know how this goes!

  • Group Formula Help

    Post Author: dmface15
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    I have a report that identifies employees and what taxes that employee pays. For example,
    John Doe
    OASDI           $2500
    Medicare        $625
    Jane Doe
    Medicare       $1750
    Michael Smith
    OASDI          $1630
    Medicare       $783
    The report is grouped by Employee name and tax code. The reason for grouping by tax code is because the tabale i am using to get tax code has records for each pay check the employee has received. Here is the problem. I need to create a report that will give me all employees who pay Medicare AND OASDI, all employees who pay ONLY Medicare. Therefore, when I run the report for employees who pay Medicare AND OASDI I should only see Michael Smith and John Doe. If i run the report for all employees who pay ONLY Medicare I should see only Jane Doe. Right now, I am having trouble with creating a formula whether it by group selection or record selection. Can anyone help me out? I would appreciate it. Thanks.

    Have you tried suppressing the group and detail sections based on the report type and count of tax code records? Assuming There are no people with only OASDI tax codes.
    The other option would be to use sql to return you only Medicare people or OASDI & Medicare people.
