  • Group Indicator for Tax Line Items

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me where can we define Group Indicator for Tax Line Items
    Thanks & Regards

    1) If you are going to post your program code, you should only post the relevant part.
    2) You certainly should take the time and effort to remove commented out code
    3) This is not a training forum. Before posting questions you should search - not just this site, not just using a search engine, but your course notes. Run the program in debug, and put some effort into determining the error. Then ask a colleague to help. Only if all that fails, post here.

  • IMPOSSIBILITY TO IDENTIFY THE INPUT TAX ON ASSET PURCHASE FOR TAX RETURN

We have only one input tax account 44560000 for all types of purchase. Monthly tax returns require a deduction between the input tax on asset purchase and input tax on another purchase.
We are asking if the input tax on asset purchase (on internal order) must be posted in an account separately.

    Dear kmgomes ,
Ideally system should not ask any transaction type for tax line. Please check which posting key is it using in simulation mode. Have you provided the transaction type (e.g. 100) when selecting posting key 70?
You can alos check transaction OBYD where G/L account posting from asset posting must be set up with posting key 40 and 50.
I understand you must be missing or trying to post incorrectly something in F-90, shall suggest to review the input in the transaction once again and check.
    Hope this helps!!!

  • Default values set  for Tax data in material master

    Hi
Can anyone tell me how to set default values for  TAx dat in sales view  while creating material master.
so that it automatically take  values while creating material master.
    Regards
    Vijay Shukla

    Mary and Vijay,
I probably understood your question wrong.
I was somehow assuming you were referring to classification data.. Sorry abt that.
The tax data gets populated automatically while creating the material master.
Th key lies in configuration..  You would have to use Tcodes OVK1, OVK4 to define the material and the tax categories by country
The tax data is populated by the assignment that you make in OVX6.. I believe.. assigning plants t Sales org. Th country code defined in the plant OX10 is used to determine the tax data and once you customize this part.. You should start seeing the tax data populate when you use that sales org while creating MM
    Hope this answers your query.

  • Asset used for both repairs and asset under construction

i had doubt for example if we purchase cement bag through po and half of this is used for repairs of old building and remaining half is used for construction of new plant which is to be capitalised how this can be done in sap.
    thanks in advance.........................

Another solution would be to use WBS elements.
Have WBS elements for the separate projects.
Code part of the PO to the construction WBS and part to the expense WBS, if you know in advance that half the bag will require a different account assignment.
If you do not know until after acquisition that half the bag was utilized for repair, for example, reclassify that amount from investment measure WBS/AuC to expense cost center.  You can do this either before or after Project System settlement into investment measure.
The audit trail is not perfect however, since the acquisition transaction (PO based materials document) still believes the entire cost amount was to be capitalized.
Not a problem if immaterial, but maybe consider going back and correcting MM transactions if material and if policy procedure requires.

  • Error account (GL a/c NO:)  has been set as not relevent for tax

    Hi,
While posting MIRO  throughing error message " Error account (GL a/c NO:)  has been set as not relevent for tax "
Kindly guide how to resolve the issue
    Thanks & Regards
    Lakshmi Kanth Reddy

    Hi Reddy,
System throws up the message because the GL account you have entered has not made Tax relevant in the Control tab.  2 things I would like to point out -
    a)  Should you need the tax code for the particular GL account, then change the GL account master and make it relevant for tax.
    b)  If the tax code is not needed, then delete from the MIRO transaction and then post the document.
Important point -  Mostly for all the MIRO transactions, tax code is made relevant for tax in the GL master.
    Hope this helps.

  • Asset value for Calculation of Tax Depreciation

We have been told that many of the assets created as of 1/1/2008 have a different (lower) tax value than their beginning book value.  Book value is correct for standard book depreciation.     Is there a process to update the tax value of assets created in SAP similar to the transaction AS92 used to update values for Converted Assets?
It was suggested that we use the method of Unplanned Depreciation tcode ABAA with TTY 642/652 to change the tax value of the asset.  When I tested this I found the various tax depreciation methods were calculated based on the beginning book value for year 1 and not using taking the special depreciation into consideration until subsequent years.   This is using Depreciation Area 10, MACRS, Dep. Key M200.
Is there a better method of altering asset book value for tax purposes or a better way to alter the tax depreciation calculation so it takes Unplanned Depreciation into consideration during year 1?
    Current simplified tax depreciation example:
    Beg. BV $1,000
    unplanned dep posted $100
tax depreciation for year 1 $100
tax depreciation for years 2-10 $88.88
    The preferred depreciation is $90 years 1 - 10.
    Thanks for your assistance,
    Jeff

I think I had the cart before the horse on this problem.  The correct way to look at this is what is the best way to get the correct "Net Book Value" and not the correct tax depreciation posting as it never actually gets booked.
By knowing the incorrect Beginning BV, the rate depreciation is applied in year 1 and finally the desired Net BV value at the end of year 1 for tax purposes I am able to calculate the correct Unplanned Depreciation for tax to make everything work out correctly.
    correct beginning tax BV $1,200
    Beginning Asset Book Value $1,800
    depreciation $360 (20% of BV)
    Unplanned depreciation  $?
    Net BV for tax at end of Yr1  $960 ;  or  1,200 - (1,200*.2)
With the know values above that makes my unplanned depreciation for Yr 1 to be $480.  Year 1 and all following years depreciate correctly after the Unplanned Depreciation is posted.
I am marking this as resolved unless someone sees an error in my thinking.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

  • Differentiating the asset class for group assets

    Hi,
I want to create group assets in AS21. For creating group assets I want to create a seperate asset class. I could not find any option of differentiating the asset class for group assets in transaction OAOA (i.e., Define Asset Class)
How we can identify that an asset class can be used only for group assets and not for individual assets.

    <<Plagiarised from http://help.sap.com/saphelp_45b/helpdata/en/4f/71dfff448011d189f00000e81ddfac/content.htm>>
    HI
A group asset is represented in the system by a separate master record. The structure of this master record corresponds to the structure of the normal asset master record. You can determine the structure of this master record using screen layout control, just as you do for normal master records. Just the same as a normal asset, a group asset can have any number of sub-numbers. In this way it is possible, for example, to collect all the acquisitions for one year in a single sub-number master record at the level of the group asset.
There is a separate master data transaction for creating group assets (Asset ® Create ® Group asset). This transaction corresponds to the transaction for creating normal assets. However, there are certain special considerations to keep in mind for master data maintenance of group assets:
Group assets can only be deleted when all the assets belonging to them have been marked for deletion.
Group assets can only manage depreciation areas that have been specially marked. You mark them using an indicator in the company code specific specifications for the depreciation area (FI-AA Customizing: Specify depreciation areas for group assets).
Group assets have to be assigned to an asset class, just as normal assets do. You use an indicator in the asset class to specify that the class can be used only for group assets.
Assignment of an Asset to a Group Asset
You can assign an asset to a group asset by specific depreciation areas. For this purpose, there is a special field in the asset master record (in the detail display of each depreciation area). You enter the number of the group asset in this field. Once this entry is made, the system calculates and posts the depreciation for this depreciation area only at the level of the group asset. In this way, you can also assign one asset to different group assets in different depreciation areas.

  • How to upload two different asset values for Book & Tax Depre in FA

    Hello all
kindly let me know how to resolve a situation where we have different methods of calculating Depreciation. For Example SLM for Book Depreciation and Diminishing method for Tax Depreciation.
To calculate depreciation we use straight line method for book depreciation and diminishing value method for Tax depreciation. In this case, we have 2 different asset values to calculate book and tax depreciation.
Since SAP allows to upload only one asset value (Gross book value), I get correct book depreciation value but incorrect value for tax depreciation as the tax depreciation is calculated based on gross book value instead of net book value (gross book value less accumulated depreciation value).
    For Eg
    FOR THE FIRST YEAR
    BOOK DEPRECIATION:
    Asset Value = 1000
    Depreciation Method : SLM
    Depreciation rate is 10%
    Depreciation Amount = 100
    TAX DEPRECIATION:
    Asset Value = 1000
    Depreciation Method : DIMINISHING METHOD
    Depreciation rate is 15%
    Depreciation Amount = 150
    FOR THE SECOND YEAR
    BOOK DEPRECIATION:
    Asset Value = 1000
    Depreciation Method : SLM
    Depreciation rate is 10%
    Depreciation Amount = 100
    TAX DEPRECIATION:
    Asset Value = 850
    Depreciation Method : DIMINISHING METHOD
    Depreciation rate is 15%
    Depreciation Amount = 127.5
KINDLY LET ME KNOW HOW TO UPLOAD THE PAST DATA WITH TWO DIFFERENT ASSET VALUES (IE 1000 & 850)  FOR THE ABOVE.

  • Account assignment for group asset is different from that in asset

    Dear experts,
I have creted one main asset . and i have created group asset. and my main asset class and group asset class are both are different. If i continue that error assets are shoud be craeted .but the depreciation key and usefull life and ordinary depreciation will going and it's showing grey.
My question at the time of assighning the group asset for the particular assets the below error is comming.
Account assignment for group asset is different from that in asset
    Message no. AA810
    Diagnosis
The account allocation 14000 of the group asset 140000001 0 is different from account allocation 1000 of the asset.
    System Response
This error needs to be corrected for balance sheet valuation (usually determined in depreciation area 01). For all other depreciation areas, this is only a warning you should check.
    Procedure
Check your entry. When an individual asset has a different account assignment than the group asset, it is not possible to reconcile the individual asset to the group asset in reporting by means of accounts.
    kindly help on this issue

  • How to post Credit Note to the vendor for purchasing of an Asset last  year

    Hi Mates,
    The scenario is as follows:
-Asset purchased for Rs. 10000 in Fiscal year 2006.
-The said asset is depreciating every month since aquisitioned as it happens.
-Now in current fiscal year 2007, due to some reason, we want to debit the vendor.
-I tried thru t_code ABGF for the same but getting an error '' Net book value negative in area 15''.
    -The concerned depreciation areas / Depreciation keys are 01( Book Depreciation ), 15 ( Tax Depreciation and 30 ( Group currency depreciation ) / Z001 ( 33% Straight Line to the day ), ZT03     ( Tax Write Off @ 0% ) and Z001 ( 33% Straight Line to the day ) respectively.
As on this date the depreciated asset value is Rs. 25829 ( Net book value for Book depreciation ), Rs. Nil ( Net book value for Tax balance sheet ) and Rs. 25829 ( Net book value for group currency ).
Even if i try thru T_code F-02 a simple JV, I am getting the same error i.e. '' Net book value negative in area 15''.
    Waiting for your fast reply.
    Rgds,
    BABA

    Hi Paul,
Can you please ellaborate your answer in detail. As you said I can click on Depreciation button in ABGF and can have a look at the depreciation value and fill the depreciation amount as well if needed. But when I click the depreciation button, the system gives the error 'Net book value negative in area 15'.
Waiting for an early reply as I am facing this issue in PRD.
