Group Footer Alternating Background Color

I have an alternating background color on my GF2, which works correctly using the code below in the section expert. However when I add a new suppressed group (GH3/GF3) to the report, the alternating is not correct as it may skip a few instances of GF2, and then color 5 instances of GF2 in a row, etc. GF2 is the only section that is not suppressed in the report.
How do I correct this?
if groupNumber mod 2 = 0 then color(235,235,235) else crNoColor

This is expected behavior.
Suppressed group does not mean it is not counted for GroupNumber function.
I would suggest to modify your formula as following:
numbervar a:=a+1;
if a mod 2 = 0 then color(235,235,235) else crNoColor

Alternating background color in details section

I am attempting to use the alternating color feature in the details section for a listing of data, where you can alternate the color based on a condition. What my client wants is to have the color change based on the first letter of the names, which are in alphabetical order. At first I thought this was simple: I just put an if statement cycling through, using every other letter of the alphabet. This worked fabulously until I realized that if there were no names for a particular letter (such as Q), that it would not alternate in that instance - the "P" and the "R" would both be white. Does anyone have a solution to this? Is there a way I can change it based on everytime the first letter changes? Thanks in advance!

Alternating background color for BC4J DataTable?

I am surprised that I couldn't see an example of this anywhere. The documentation in the bc4j.css indicates that it is possible to "enable the alternating colors feature for the HTML Table Control", I would think this is just a checkbox somewhere. Can someone please point me to it?

We accomplished this but by changing the DataTableComponent.jsp.
I dont think there is any checkbox which will enable this feature.

Alternating Background color for Detail Records

I have found other posts concerning thing similar to this but not quite the same. I have an 8.5 report that needs to have everyother record in the detail section to be a different color. The problem is that it is counting all the records not the ones that are filtered out and displayed in the details section. I have played around with the "If RecordNumber Mod 2 = 0 Then crSilver Else crNoColor" formula but it doesn't work right. I am thinking that my formula needs to be applied last but how do I accomplish that? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Jerry

What I mean, excuse my newbiness, is the formula is in the formatting of the detail section which is being applied on the first pass. The bottom of the report shows the record count on the first pass and the report is showing about half as many. Does that make sense? So my question is, how do I use your suggestion? I am somewhat of an inexperienced user and need all the help someone can offer.

How can I create an alt background color for items in a jlistbox or jtree

What I'm looking to do is have a white background for say items 1,3,5, etc. and a light yellow background for items 2,4,6, etc. I was wondering how can I set an alternative background color on items in a JTree or a JList

Footer now floating in middle of page and no background color

Hello all,
Been working on this for days with no luck. I hope someone can spot the silly mistake, because I know it has to be something silly but it's driving me round the bend! The page has always been just fine until I recoded part of the body (the four columns with titles, photos, and text) to help with 508 compliance. Since then, the orange footer that was firmly at the bottom has started floating half way up the page and the background orange color has disappeared.
I've gone through my code line by line, marking off each beginning and ending div tag and everything is fine there. Below, is a screenshot of the lower half of the page showing how the footer should look.

as you can hopefully see, the footer has lost it's orange background and is sitting halfway up the page.

A repeating background image to 'fake' equal height columns is perfectly ok.
It won't work IF your page is responsive but it isn't so no problem. If it were responsive a better solution would be to take advantage of the css property display: table; and display: table-cell;
In reference to your footer background color not showing I would assume you have floated items within the footer container. If so then you need to clear those floated items which allows the footer container to wrap itself around the floated items inside it.
You would do this by using css - overflow: hidden; - on the parent container which has the floats inside it.

but if i apply same formula to group footer section it's not working.

Want robust solution for alternating row color, resetting every group

I would like a solution for displaying an alternating row color for my detail rows that resets every group, so that row 1 is always gray.
Our Crystal designer provided this code to me:

This was working fine for me.
However, it is suddenly not working in one of my reports.
The report does happen to have two groups (rowcount.png).
When the report is run, all rows are colored (rowcount02.png).
This report was previously working fine! I'm not sure what changed.
In any case... surely there must be standard code to do this very standard formatting.
I would be very grateful if someone could post some robust code to accomplish the following:
REPORT DATA IN DETAIL ROW, ALTERNATE ROW BANDING:
- Data in Detail row displays alternating row colors
- Odd rows are always shaded, even rows not
- Banding resets every group / does not continue pattern from previous group
REPORT DATA IN GROUP ROW, ALTERNATE ROW BANDING:
Some of our reports place row data in a group row (just the way it happened).
If you could also modify your code in this case.

Background color change question - only selecting the footer

I use the darkroom theme and was curious about changing the page background color. Right now my settings use the darkroom theme 'right out of the box' which is 'image fill' on both the page and browser background. That is the textured look.
When I try to change the color, selecting 'color fill' instead of 'image fill', it only changes the footer - not the entire page background.
I'm guessing it's not possible to change a color using the 'image fill.' You get 'image fill' in black or gray as shown and that is it, except should you decide to use your own image, which I do not.
Any way to be able to have a change apply to the entire page and not just the footer?
Suggestions welcome.

I tried to do the same just see what the problem was and failed. It is probably 'cos the top layer is independant of the page background or browser background. Even when I had page background none and altered the browser background it made no difference. If you want anything different try using a blank black or white theme and putting your own graphics on there. You can make quite nice backgrounds if you have a decent paint or photo program.

You can set the OwnerDraw property of the ListView to true and use the DrawItem event:

Mail background color?... and email grouping

Hi..
Is it possible to change the background color in Mail to something other than white? if so , how??...and are their any other (other than fonts) way to improve the "look" of Mail?
also...
is there a way to group emails from a specific soure or with a specific heading etc (eudora does this for example by highlighting one and hitting option/command together)..and pull then all together in your in boxes..?/

Although RTF with Tiger Mail is HTML, the Mail.app does not include an HTML composer/editor so includes no option to change the background color of messages but there is a work-around.
Select RTF for message composition with Mail.
Use the HTML editor/composer of choice - the Text Edit application can be used for this. Set the background color, font/font size and text color that you prefer for the document. When saving the document, select HTML for the File Format.
Open the saved document with Safari and at the menu bar, go to File and select Mail Contents of This Page.
A new Mail.app message will be launched and the Text Edit document will be copied to the new Mail.app message with the background color chosen with Text Edit.
To save the message as a template:
Create a new "On My Mac" location mailbox called "Templates" (or anything else that appeals to you more).
Save this new message created as a Draft.
Close the message.
Go to the Drafts folder.
Move the Draft message you just saved to the "Templates" mailbox.
To use a message template in Mail to create a new message:
Open the Templates mailbox containing the desired message template.
Highlight the template you want to use for the new message.
Select Message | Send Again from the menu.
Edit and send the message.
You can also use any message you previously sent as a template by copying it to your "Templates" mailbox (or using Message | Send Again directly).
To edit a template, create a new message using it, make the desired changes and the save the edited message as a template as described above while deleting the old template.
The Mail.app includes a thread feature which leaves some room for desire.
Select a mailbox and at the menu bar, go to View and select Organize by Thread. Check Mail.app Help for Threads.

Uitableview grouped style-is there any way to get section background color

So far i have tried myself and searched everywhere but didnt figured out that is there any way to get section background colors different for each sections in grouped style tableview.

The solution I found was to extend the data grid class, add override to the draw background and add a rowcolorfunction. When using item renderers you must use the style function with the alternatingItemColors so the renderer gets the color correct and not opaque.

Dynamically Set Subreport Background Color to the Same Value as Main Report Background Color

I have a report that contains a subreport. The main report has groupings in it. I am dynamically setting the background color of the group rows based on an expression. That part is working fine. The problem that I am having is that
I don't know how to get the subreport to "inherit" the background color of the grouping that holds it.
Basically, I have different row shadings on my report differentiating the groupings except for the rows where the subreport shows.
How do I go about setting the subreport background color to equal it's contaiing grouping's background color? Thanks in advance for any and all assistance provided.

The parameter method given by gpshukla will send the info to the subreport, but you don't need the color parameter in the main report, only the subreport. The trick is in setting the value of that parameter.
Right-click the cell with the embedded subreport, you can select subreport properties.
Select Parameters and add a parameter.
The name column is the name of the parameter in the subreport (color) and value is the value to set it to.
Set name to "color" (no quotes).
Set Value to the same expression used to set the background color for the row.
In the subreport, click the design surface to select the report (not header or footer).
In the properties pane, select background color and choose expression from the dropdown.
Type =Parameters!color.Value into the expression builder.
This will work assuming that background color in the main report row will not change without also refreshing the subreport.
