Group Video business model change

Expand group video conferencing to on-demand rather than only Skype Premium.  I would like to use it 2-3 times a year for an hour at a crack with a total of 3 people.  I would like to be able to add the 3rd person for say 2-3 cents a minute.  If I added a 4th, then it would be another 2-3 cents a minutes.   Otherwise the cost of $9.99 a month for Skype Premium is too prohibitive, costing me more than 50 cents a minute based on my estimated usage.

We are exploring all the technical options for making Group Video Calling available on TVs. Most of these options, to be honest, will need an updated TV with a faster processor and more memory. However, there are some alternative options we are also exploring which could potentially support Group Calling on the current generation of TVs.

    Either this is a mistake (which to be frank would be very bad if it's the case), or perhaps something else - even dodgy.
    May I assume that the email address this was sent to was in the "To" field ? Typically business email addresses end in btconnect.com
    Did the email contain any links such as "Login here" - indicating that the email could actually be a "phishing" email, with the link not going to any bt.com website.
    If you know how to get email headers and can post them (removing any personal details first), then that would be handy to determine if it was genuine or not.

  • Group Video call limit for Skype Business

    Hi there,Can anyone tell me what the maximum number of participants for a video call is in Skype Business?And also in Skype Primium? Many thanks!

    If you go to your account, in the upper left hand corner of the page, under where it says Welcome, your-user-name, there should be a link "subscripton."  Clicking on that link should take you to another page, Skype Premium settings, where is says Skype Premium is active.

  • Skype Premium after Free Group Video Calls

    The short version of it: Either
    Good Decision, now refund your loyal paying customers; or
    Poor Decision, it should remain a pay-only product.
    Which one is it going to be?
    The long version of it:
    Okay, Skype, I think there will be a flood of people coming in here and also people flooding the e-mails and live chats of the support team. So since it looks like nobody is going to put it up for talks, I guess I'm going to do it - what's going to happen to us who paid for a month... a few months... or even, like myself, a year of Skype Premium? Are we getting pro-rated refunds? 
    I know there will be someone from the Skype team that will redirect everyone to the "Refunds are eligible for those who haven't used the service yet" support article, but what about those who already paid and are now publicly notified that the core feature of Skype Premium, Group Video Calling, is now free? I've shelled out on almost $500 of Skype Premium gifts to my friends (over $100 of it to myself), each for a year of Skype Premium. What does that mean for us? What does that mean for you if you did something similar... or just had a year of service for one?
    Be advised, folks, I see nothing that says that when Skype Premium is discontinued, no refunds will be offered. This means the Skype team can do as they will. If they do the wrong thing, however, then maybe their competitor (and I'm talking about the big, blue G) might have more worth in the end. 
    Don't disappoint your customers, Skype.
    Are you affected by this change? How muc hdid you pay for Skype Premium and what's your length of subscription? Is it still going to be active the next month and probably the month after? Let's all let the Skype team know what's going on and how we feel about it.

    Summary: Skype eventually refunded my money into my bank account, after an ordeal though!
    Initially, Skype had given me pro-rated Skype credit on 9-May  from 1-May to the year on. But I don't use Skype credit at all, so there wasn't much I could have done with it. The only reason I had premium was to make group video calls.
    I contacted Skype and the Customer Service Executive (CSE) told me that since it has been more than 14 days from the transaction date, a refund could not be made. I had to explain that that credit was useless to me, I had not received a notification of such a transfer and if I should onsider my £20 donated to Skype. I was told that, "... because you are a loyal customer, we'll refund the money into your bank account and it will reach you within 3 - 5 business days"
    I left a really nice feedback for that CSE, since I was satisfied. But, then I received an email saying that as the amount of $20 (note the currency mixup), had already been added to my Skype credit, there was no monetory refund needed. My head blew up!! This was not only deceiving but also a company backing out on its word.
    Following that, I contacted Skype again. Re-iterated the entire scenario and mentioned how the first CSE had lied to me. After almost 30 mins of debating, I got the same "loyal customer" dialog and a confirmation of refund (again). But this time I was skeptic and the feedback wasn't equally good.
    After 3 days I got the money in my account.

  • How to add a stand alone table from Physical layer to Business Model

    Hi,
    I have tables from 2 different database sources in my Physical Layer.
    My Business model currently uses only tables from one database. from my second database in teh physical layer I need only one table and that will be a stand alone table, to my Presentation layer.
    1. Does it have to go through my Business layer or can it be directly added to the Presentation layer. What are the steps?
    2. Can I restrict the permissions on that stand alone table only to the administrator?

    1)create a view with single column using the sql (select 1 from dual) in physical layer and join it with the table using complex join in physical layer (1=1).
    Move that to BMM, set the column as key in both physical and bmm layer.
    2) You can restrict the access for the table presentation layer
    Double click the presentation layer table -> Permission -> there you can restrict the access by user or group

  • Alternative approach to tree business model

    Hi JHS Team,
    When generating tree-forms with JHeadstart, we need two VO instances in the model for each node we want to present: one for rendering the Tree and another to show on the form, after the user selects a node.
    I understand that this is necessary for the case when the user clicks on one node which father node isn't the current row of its corresponding View Object, and so in such case the form couldn't find the current row and show the correct data.
    I'm still using the 10.1.2 version, but I checked the 10.1.3 documentation and this model requirement is still there.
    I tried another approach to this issue, which consists of using the very same VO instance for trees and forms: in every level, I render the node with every Iterator used in the previous levels and each corresponding row key for every previous levels. When the user selects a node, in that node link I have every Iterator I need to seek and every primary key I need to search for, so I can really reconstruct the path used by the user to seek that node.
    So, the benefit is that I don't need a root VO in the AM for every node I need to present as a form. In huge trees, this really simplifies the model construction and its maintanance.
    In 10.1.2, the runtime library (JhsDataAction) is already prepared for this, so I would like to know, if possible, the reasons why this is not used already by default (maybe performance?). If there is a reason to mantain the two VO instances in 10.1.3, could it be changed to allow us use the same instances as an alternative to simplify models, and generate the JSF pages working accordingly?

    Hi Steven,
    Many thanks for the explanation. I agree with you that the current implementation is easier to understand, but I think it is only from the point of view of a programmer who understand some concepts of ADF business model. When you're a beginner, it's more difficult and less intuitive (or at least it was for me some time ago :-))
    I can say that in our project we have 4 very large trees in the same Application Module (since they need to be present on the same project as they're all related), and in each level we have at least 3 or 4 "details" VOs we present in the form, so the final model is really huge and really difficult to maintain. It was surprisingly easy to change the UIXs to the other approach, however, so I asked myself if this was tried already. Thanks for warning me of the unpredictable problems, I'll see if we have any.

    IChat uses better Video Compression than Skype does.
    On a top flight Mac you can send a 640 X 480 pixel frame up to 30 frames a sec.
    Skype can't match this.
    iChat in Video is Peer to Peer. (you can actually Log out of the Buddy list)
    Skype seems to borrow something from everyone's bandwidth to make connections.
    What do you mean by Business account Tracking ?
    iChat Adds (or can add) the First Name, Last Name of your Buddies and create an Address Book Entry
    Whether you mark those cards connected with a  company is up to you.
    (I have heard of issues with earlier version of iChat and the Address Book that "saw" the Company Name as the part of the Name and linking several Screen Names to the one name
    Audio on a Mac using Skype tend to be the same as the streaming needs are less.
    However you have to rely on any PCs audio abilities from PCs which may not be to the same standard.
    Mac to PCs in iChat and AIM can be difficult though.  (It should work but it rarely as simple as Plug and go)
    Skype may suit your needs better on ocassions.

  • Moving  Business Model Contents

    Hi.
    I need to move a business model content into another one without affecting presentation catalog.
    I moved the fact table, the dimension tables, and the dimensions (except one that is already present in the destination busienss model).
    I've got an error ...
    Which is the best way to do it ?

    You can write click your business model , and choose to duplicate , with or without corresponding Pres. Catalogue.
    Otherwise you should be able to shift select, right click copy and paste. You may want to do this in smaller groups, ie fact tables, then logical dims, then hierarchies.
    I've also see some joins not get copied before, and importantly, the content levels on LTS's and measures - I've seen those not get copied also.

  • RPD Business Model Layer Question

    I have multiple fact tables that has the dimension table values like Customer Id, Status, Customer Class in the fact table itself. I added the fact as logical table source to the dimension table in BMM layer. But the problem I have when I try filter on customer id in Answers it hits the fact table that has been added as LTS and not the dimension table.
    Is there any way that I can force the filter to go to the dim table instead of the fact table?

    OK so you were absolutely correct - not being able to see/use the newly created subject area in Answers was a separate issue which i only fixed this morning :)
    I recreated the multi-source business model and for anyone with this same question ill explain the steps i took (maybe one of the steps is my problem)
    1. Created 3 databases in the Physical layer (each with a separate data source) using a stored procedure to obtain the data.
    - I am using the same for each and the variables are only set up once and set to dashboard prompts.

    2. Dragged 1 database to Business Model and changed its name. This created the columns and source in the Business Model.
    3. Dragged the other 2 db tables over to the '*Sources*' folder in the business model.
    4. Ensured the "This source should be combined with other sources at the level" checkbox was checked for all sources.
    5. Ensured that the columns in Business Model each had 3 sources attached to the coulmn.
    6. Dragged this to the Presentation Model.
    7. Created a report / prompts based on the subject area.
    When i ran the report, expecting to pull back information from all databases based on a date range, only information from the first database was returned. Is it something wrong with the setup? It is pulling back information but only from the database that i first pulled over to the Business Model.
    Also - you mentioned it would do a union of the tables so im guessing that even though it found data for the date range in the first table it would still go to the other tables with the same date range?

    error because profile and target group were not getting saved.
    Sap Note 1591375 has to be implemented to solve this issue.

  • Skype Group Video: Free for everyone or not?

    I've been paying for Skype Premium for 2 years now for group video chat.  Now I read EVERYWHERE including Skype's website that says Skype Group Video chat is now free.   So I chat with a Skype customer service guy to find out why I was charged for Skype Premium and why I even need it anymore. He tells me Group Video is NOT free for everyone and that it's coming in the near future.  I asked him why the FRONT PAGE of Skype.com says it's free and all he says it that it's not free.
    Anyone know what the deal is?

    The Skype Premium subscription you have includes an unlimited calling option to a country of your choice. This should get upgraded to an "Unlimited World" subscription allowing you to call 60+ countries while keeping the same subscription price. This upgrade hasn't seem to have happened yet for your account though.

  • Business model question

    Hi ,
    Have the following case (simplified) : 2 tables "projects", "project_details"; columns in project_details : status, modified_date, fk to organization(hierarchical org).
    Basically I need to create a business model in "Oracle BI Administration Tool" that can deliver answers about time needed to get from some status to another ( for every project, as well as averages at organization level).

    Q: are status changes stored as rows or columns ?
    A: statuses are stored in "project_details" table , "status" column. project_details table has a record for every status a project ever had, along with a date.
    Q : How many changes of status do you need to monitor ?
    A: All of them , if possible...there are at least 20 possible statuses a project can have. And therefore more possible changes of status.
    Q: step by step or start to finish?
    A: step by step and start to finish.
    my model should answer to questions like : how much time did projects stayed in some status....how much time from start to finish , or maybe even how much time from a status to another.
    The business is not very clear about what it is wanted...but still, I need to provide them something. I'm thinking to simply define and compute on database side , in projects table (which would be a fact table) - so NOT in project_details, a lot of measures like "days_from_start_to_end", "days_NEW", "days_onHold" (and similar for each status)...but this will answer only some of the questions. for the questions about status changes, not sure if it is the best idea.
    There is also a problem with the hierarchy of employees involved, simply because the hierarchy is not with a fixed number of levels, and in order to model it in Oracle BI I should come with a clear number of hierarchy levels.

  • Strange business model.

    I have been with LMI since the beginning and find it a very useful tool, However these yearly price hikes have forced me to go elsewhere, just spoke to sales they couldn't even give me a figure for my renewal (Central 100, backup and cuddy) the lady wasn't even sure of the product line up at my renewal date leading me to conclude there is another change in the offing - you have been warned. I have lost all confidence in the company now and the sneaky way they operate there renewals and product changes is the strangest business model I have ever seen. I can only assume they are trying to milk there existing customers for everything they can. I'm only a one-man-band but larger companies have also expressed frustration to me about the pricing structure. The most annoying thing is the product is good, spoiled by money grabbing. Shame
