Adobe email about "business model change"

So did anyone else receive this email? I don't know if this is good or bad news. Customer support and documentation has been so bad thru Adobe that this could be good. But I have emailed Bluefire before about their reader and it took a week to get an answer...I am very frustrated that Adobe cant seem to just get a content server up and running and leave it alone.

Either this is a mistake (which to be frank would be very bad if it's the case), or perhaps something else - even dodgy.
May I assume that the email address this was sent to was in the "To" field ? Typically business email addresses end in btconnect.com
Did the email contain any links such as "Login here" - indicating that the email could actually be a "phishing" email, with the link not going to any bt.com website.
If you know how to get email headers and can post them (removing any personal details first), then that would be handy to determine if it was genuine or not.

    I can personally ensure you get it if after waiting the 60 days you still haven't recieved it yet.
    You would also want to ensure:
    - You have the annual (yearly) Creative Cloud plan
    - You log into the Creative Cloud website from within 3 of the Adobe Touch Apps from the tablet using your Adobe ID associated with your membership
    If all this looks correct and you don't recieve an email after the 60 days, send me a private message and I'll ensure you get it.

    It is not clear to me what your issue is with not being able to sign in to your Adobe account to find the serial number.  You should still be able to sign in and find your serial number if you registered the software.
    If your first PC is a Windows machine you might be able to extract the serial number from it using the Belarc Advisor

    I think that the problem is that the new versions of PSE do not know where to look for the mail client.

    What you're calling "Adobe Forms" is really Adobe FormsCentral. The FormsCentral service is indeed going away soon, but you can always create PDF forms (AcroForms) with Acrobat. Acrobat also comes with a desktop version of the FormsCentral desiger, which can be used to create simple PDF forms that can be used apart from the FormsCentral service. So you'll no longer be able to create and host web forms with the FormsCentral service or use PDF forms with the FormsCentral service. You will be able to create standalone PDF forms with Acrobat and simple PDF forms with the FormsCentral desktop app.

    Are you a BC partner and have a partner portal? Go to your settings and you set your own info or place blank characters to have it blank. Otherwise you cant.

    If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
    The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
    The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
    Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
    Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
    Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

  • The Adobe email on my Elements 11 no longer works.

    The Adobe email service on my Photoshop Elements 11 no longer works.  I have had people tell me they are not getting my photos so I tested it by sending to two different email accounts I have.  Nothing received.  I checked the History tab in the Photoshop Elements Organizer and it lists the email with attachments as having been sent.  This is a handy feature that I really want back.  I upgraded from 10 to 11 about 8 months ago and will not be upgrading again if I can't get this feature to work again!
    I have Windows 8.1 and use Windows Live email as my default.  Since I am using Adobe's email service does my default email service have anything to do with the problem?
    I do appreciate any assistance I can get.

    I solved my Adobe email service by changing my email address to another account and got a new verification code.  I still do not understand why my other email account stopped working?  Anyway I am back in business, at least for the time being!

    Hi there, I have just gone live with my website and changed the name servers to Adobe Business Catalyst name servers and since then my emails are not working. We have figured out the problem that Adobe needs to update their MX Records to point to my server provider, however I can not get hold of them urgently. I have tried to find their phone number and for the life of me they don't make it easy at all. Can someone please help who I can contact a phone number at all? I have filled out 2 support tickets but just don't feel confident that it will get through to them very quickly at all. I have a business to runa nd my clients can not email me. Please help!

    I am planning on changing the name servers to Adobe Business Catalyst tonight.  I've been asking a lot of questions about how to make sure my client's email will work after this.  I had them backup everything in outlook to .pst and I am planning on switching tonight.  However, I had told them I could have their email ready on monday.  How quickly can Adobe get the MX records changed?  I am going to need this done quick.  ????  Help please.  I don't want to do this if I am going to mess them up.

    The new business model is inflexible. It might be suitable for many scenarios, but I will be looking for alternatives to Photoshop and the Premiere, wherever possible. This subscription model could be a boon to some businesses; Adobe will ultimately loose both long-term customers, as well as potential new users. A bad move overall.

    Yes, it may sting to learn that you can no longer afford the top-of-the-line graphics editing tool, but...  How many of us can afford top-of-the-line anything?  Do you have the top-of-the-line camera from your favorite manufacturer?  How about your computer?  Your car?
    I think something that would help ease a lot of minds is a reasonable exit strategy.  One that shows some appreciation by Adobe for your having been a cloud subscriber.
    What if, for example, after 2 years of keeping your subscription current you were allowed to continue to use any released revision of Photoshop 2 years old or older upon terminating your subscription?

    There is no silver bullet, and while the command mgr can be useful to find out what's going on in general, it is definitely not the place for own dispatching. You'll have to revisit every command before and after execution, and plenty obscure sub-commands nested within larger sequences. If you handle them all this will seriously degrade performance. One good use of command manager notifications is to yield and inspect the matching commands for UI activities, from within your debug build.
    In your quoted update(), when you check the protocol you're anyway already discarding the command mgr notifications, because the protocol then would be IID_ICOMMANDMGR. Probably you already have attached a bunch of other protocols?
    Comparing to previous versions, the changes listed in 1) are pretty simple, you just subscribe at the document boss, and listen for the protocols IID_IHIERARCHY_DOCUMENT, IID_ITRANSFORM_DOCUMENT, eventually IID_IGEOMETRY_DOCUMENT, IID_IPATHGEOMETRY_DOCUMENT, IID_IINVALSHAPE. These also have an advantage that you get a meaningful theChange (rather than the command mgr's kBeforeDoMessageBoss and alike) and can dispatch on those.
    If you have a previous version of InDesign, there used to be a wildcard protocol IID_IPMUNKNOWN that would yield any notifications on the subject so you could dump them out and search for details. Apparently for performance reasons this was removed with CS3 after some plugins used it for release code, IMO Adobe should just have limited the feature to the debug build.
    Besides to observers, the service registry is full of other notifications, have a look the the cross reference in sdkdocs/html/classISignalMgr.html for the most prominent ones. One exception here, 2) For text edits, you won't even use observers or signals but kEditCmdPreProcessService / IID_ITEXTEDITPREPROCESS service instead, or its sister IID_ITEXTEDITPOSTPROCESS.
    3) Probably you'll again observe the kDocBoss for IID_ISPREADLIST and IID_IMASTERSPREADLIST.
    Regarding selection observers and suites, we're talking model changes here so please just forget about them in this place. Selection observers are used to follow the selection from within UI widgets, such as a palette or control strip.

    Have the following case (simplified) : 2 tables "projects", "project_details"; columns in project_details : status, modified_date, fk to organization(hierarchical org).
    Basically I need to create a business model in "Oracle BI Administration Tool" that can deliver answers about time needed to get from some status to another ( for every project, as well as averages at organization level).

    Q: are status changes stored as rows or columns ?
    A: statuses are stored in "project_details" table , "status" column. project_details table has a record for every status a project ever had, along with a date.
    Q : How many changes of status do you need to monitor ?
    A: All of them , if possible...there are at least 20 possible statuses a project can have. And therefore more possible changes of status.
    Q: step by step or start to finish?
    A: step by step and start to finish.
    my model should answer to questions like : how much time did projects stayed in some status....how much time from start to finish , or maybe even how much time from a status to another.
    The business is not very clear about what it is wanted...but still, I need to provide them something. I'm thinking to simply define and compute on database side , in projects table (which would be a fact table) - so NOT in project_details, a lot of measures like "days_from_start_to_end", "days_NEW", "days_onHold" (and similar for each status)...but this will answer only some of the questions. for the questions about status changes, not sure if it is the best idea.
    There is also a problem with the hierarchy of employees involved, simply because the hierarchy is not with a fixed number of levels, and in order to model it in Oracle BI I should come with a clear number of hierarchy levels.

    I have been with LMI since the beginning and find it a very useful tool, However these yearly price hikes have forced me to go elsewhere, just spoke to sales they couldn't even give me a figure for my renewal (Central 100, backup and cuddy) the lady wasn't even sure of the product line up at my renewal date leading me to conclude there is another change in the offing - you have been warned. I have lost all confidence in the company now and the sneaky way they operate there renewals and product changes is the strangest business model I have ever seen. I can only assume they are trying to milk there existing customers for everything they can. I'm only a one-man-band but larger companies have also expressed frustration to me about the pricing structure. The most annoying thing is the product is good, spoiled by money grabbing. Shame

    It is just a fact of ebook life that you need to use whichever store and reader app which has what you want.  Also note that paid-for iBooks can only be read on an iOS device, so if you want to read on a laptop/desktop you need to get your ebooks elsewhere.
