Grouping Feature

Maybe not deep grouping... but another developer told me he
would be using SPRY for a current project but since he needed
grouping he was thinking that spry wouldn't be a fit. (So he is
doing the full page reload thing! EEEEK )
Anyone done anything like this... or have suggestions about
different ways to do it. I have ideas also... but wanted to throw
this one up for general discussion.

Well, there are a couple of ways it could be approached.
1. We can do a multicolumn sort, and then spry could have
something like...
<tr spry:group="{fieldName}" >
This would insert the element each time the group changed.
(In other words on the first occurrence of an item.
2. You could have it so group forced the group to be added to
the sort as the first sort item.
3. It would be an advanced programming technique for us
developers rather than designers. But it still seems like there
should be an example of how to do grouping either way.

Asr-group feature in active/standby mode

Hi ,
I would like to know if anyone had used asr-group freature in active/standby mode. Is it not recommended by cisco for active/standby mode ? The feature works in both environment.

Can I get iCal 2 (particularly Calendar groups feature) on OS X 10.3.9 ?

I'm sure it's a simple question but I can't find anything to say either way...
Can I get iCal 2 (particularly Calendar groups feature) on my OS X 10.3.9 iBook or do I have to upgrade?
Since I was first persuaded to get a mac a couple of years ago I've been going on about having groups for my calenders and how simple it must be, since you can group things heirachically in most other apps. So I'm pleased to see it's in iCal 2 however I get the impression that means I have to find the money and the disk space for an upgrade before I can get groups.
Am I right or is there some wonderful way I can just upgrade iCal?

You cannot upgrade to iCal 2 without installing Mac OS X 10.4 at minimum, as critical Mac OS X 10.4 frameworks which it requires, and Address Book 4, which it is designed to exchange data with, are not present in earlier releases of the operating system.

I feel your pain. I am in charge of over 250 PCs and laptops. Flash Player stopped working for me after an update. I have been working on this issue non-stop since the middle of October, 2012. It's time-consuming, and even after applying the latest Flash update, it still doesn't work properly.
I am beyond frustrated! I have people calling me left and right saying that they can't access content. I have been using this site https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ to try and do a browser plug-in check while in IE an dFirefox. Even after I update all plug-ins, Flash still works about half the time.
For instance, the principal of the middle and high school wanted to view an online magazine http://upfront.scholastic.com/issues/12_10_12, about 3 pages load on this site. The rest continue to say LOADING. When I right-click on a page and then left-click on ABOUT ADOBE 11.5.502.110, it seems I am using the most up-to-date version for IE and Firefox.
Students are trying to access sumdog.com and stmath.com, both run using Flash. STMath is now working a bit better because I allowed some exceptions in our internet content filtering appliance, and in our firewall, sumdog still works half the time.
If Adobe is going to update their browser plug-ins, they need to test and retest before giving the public access. This situation is causing me a ton of problems!

Is there a way to disable the new email "Grouping" feature found in iOS4?

If there is an email trail that contains the same subject line, these individual emails are now grouped. The "From" name seems to show the oldest unread email and not the newest. I bcc myself on all emails, so I do not necessarily read the message from myself. This makes the grouped email appear to be from me, even though there may be several more emails on this topic (subject) that came in more recently.
Is there a way to turn this "grouping" feature off?

Is the tab groups feature supposed to save the groups as I lose mine each time I close Firefox?

The tab group feature seems to work as advertised in each session, but the groups are not saved after a re-start. Is this a design feature? If so it reduces its usefulness to almost zero if I still need to save all the urls as bookmarks as well.

Are you clearing your recent history when you close Firefox?
Firefox stores tab group details in the same file that stores details of browsing sessions. Make sure that you have not set Firefox to delete browsing history. For details of the setting to check see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Clear+Recent+History

Group feature in j3d ? regrouping visual objects

Is it possible in Jva3D to regroup visual objects?
I mean two leaves (i.e.geometric form of the same
branchgroup or different branchgroups?) are selected
by the mouse and then become the same object.
For instance , like the group feature in drawing Powerpoint.
Any idea ?

The new tab group feature loses its user settings (groups) regularly

Th new tabgroup feature is very useful. However quite regularly the groups being set up before and given its proper group name by me all disappear after closing and later re-opening of FF4.
Maybe a related issue: if I define a group of tabs as the homepage under FF options, activating the home page button brings up ALL tabs present over all the tab groups. If the home page is defined as a single site (ic Netvibes) this problem does not appear.

Can I create a "Groups" feature in contacts that all people fall under it?

I'd like to input a few peoples information, but I want to keep all of them together as a Group so that I just search for the group vs their names individually
Can this be done inside of Contacts?

Ok I have outlook 2007
I've read over the walk-thru you've provided & I believe I want to "Group Individual contacts into folders"
And I've created a new folder & have added the contacts with in that folder. I've also ticked the box to Sync Outlook with my iphone within itunes
But it still hasnt sync'd the info to my iphone?
Right now in Outlook on the left pane under "My Contacts" there is the folder "Contacts" and my new one "Native Sons"
But for some reason my iphone only wants to sync with the Contacts folder & not also the Native sons folder?
So is there a way to tick anything so that it syncs both folders, or do I need to add the people in my new group to the "Contacts" folder as well? Sort of double dip them?

In FF5.0 this Tab Groups feature doesn't work: "Once you've created your first group, the Tab Group button will be added to the right end of the tab strip to give you a one-click way to get back to your groups."

All this may be me, but I still suspect FF5. For WHY did it not happen automatically, as the help page indicates?
Sorry, only just got back to click Solved, as the icon is now where it's supposed to be. The icon I got from the Customization window before was useless on my cluttered toolbar, and I thought the only way to get it to appear on the tab bar as advertised was to remove it completely and see if it appeared in the right place after a reboot or something. I think we're probably still at the stage where we have to settle for ad-hoc fixes of the mercurial behaviour of new versions.

[DATA LOSS] I closed the Tab Groups and all my tabs dissapeared. How can I recover the tabs in Firefox 26? Would you please just delete this feature?

A slip of the mouse in trying to return to the left-most tab caused the tab groups feature to take over the window. I completely failed to comprehend what I was looking at and closed the thing by clicking the x because I damn sure didn't want what I was looking at. Undo close group? Of course not, I didn't want a group in the first place. Hey! My tabs are completely gone now! So in just a few steps all of which seemed innocent, I have lost all but ten of the tabs that were open, and those were only the most recent ten (and actually older tabs would have been more valueable than newer so insult on top of injury).
I don't think increasing the number of undoable tab closures is the answer. I think getting rid of the tab groups feature all together is the best way to go. I seem to have lost all the tabs I had open, irretrievably, and some of them had been open for WEEKS so they can't be reopened from history.
The tab groups feature is a data loss bug. Please remove it from the UX completely. If you have to figure out a way to grandfather people who actually have a tab group, fine but don't further vex me with it, please.
The reason this catastrophe has occurred is that your feature, was so discoverable that I activated it by mistake, and the UI after that had to be learned on the spot, yet was too complicated to learn. You really should withdraw it until you can figure out how to keep the UI for it from causing data loss such as I have experienced this morning.
Also, there may be other questions on this feature which are from a certain point of view the same as this one. It's hard for me to tell for sure. None of them had a true resolution so that's why I posted this one, also I'm seeking a specific fix, removal of the offending feature.
Why remove the feature? Because if I allow in my discussion the possibility of retaining it, it will stick around in its present and dangerous form until your team is done bikeshedding the new form it should take. Instead I want you to delete the feature and then require its champion to convince you that a new incarnation won't cause data loss before you allow it back in.
Fellow users, if you know of a way to recover all 50 lost tabs from an "undo close tab group incident", I would be grateful for that advice, but I would still believe the feature should be deleted. Some of the tabs have been retained for months so digging them out of the history is not practical.

I am not 100% certain but I am fairly sure development of this tab feature has ceased and it is likely to be deprecated. I am even less sure what the replacement will be.

I have not tried this and am not even using Windows at present but the tabs groups are stored as entries in the sessionstore.js files. Firefox has such a file plus sometimes numbered copies and a backup copy. Firefox will have re-writen these files but I suppose there is a posibility the Windows OS may have kept copies.

Find and backup any current sessionstore.js file. Consider also bookmark or otherwise recording anything you have open. Now find any previous versions and try putting them in Firefox's profile before restarting it.

Group music feature in iTunes vs shuffle play in ATV2

Hi everyone,
I recently discovered the "group" feature in iTunes, that allows to group separete parts of a sonata or symphony, for example, in order to play them together when using the shuffle mode. All this works perfectly in iTunes (latest version).
Now, when I use the Shuffle mode in the AT2... well, the AT2 seems not recognize that some of my music is grouped. It just plays the music as if nothing was not grouped.
Maybe this is normal? Or not?

I'm not sure that's gonna work; I've got an old iPod 60, and I'm pretty sure you can only shuffle the main library on my iPod, not individual playlists. I have no idea why this is happening. I just opened iTunes and clicked on another playlist that was shuffled, and turned shuffle off. The songs went back to their original order. Then, I shuffled that playlist again, and the songs were placed in a random order. This problem seems to be specific to only a few playlists [naturally, the ones I want to shuffle]. Any ideas?

How do I move multiple tabs into a tab group in one go?

It would be nice if the Tab Group feature would support standard Windows conventions for multi-selection, so I wouldn't have to move tabs between groups only one at a time. If I want to move 20, say, it quickly becomes tedious. Shift-select and CTRL-select should be made available if this feature is to be truly useful.
Please feel free to enlighten me if I've missed some method by which this is currently doable. However, I would still suggest to add the above feature, so it conforms to Windows standards. :-)

As far as I can tell, it doesn't look like this is part of Tab Groups yet. It would definitely make a great feature though! :)
