GT70 Dragon Ed-Key not always responding

It is only me or the sensibility of the key presses on the gt70 dragon edition is too low ?? Lots of time I press some key and it didnt recognize it so I have to press them very hard, It is like that always, never, only with a recent bought one ?? It happens a lo with the R key and the T key

It takes some getting used to. The GT70 is pretty much the same as all of the GT70's. In reality, it just takes a bit more pressure to make sure all the keys work.

    Recently I installed RAM and when removing the keyboard I must of jarred the delete key because it is sluggish, only responding half the time I tap it.
    Any suggestions on how to fix this?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
    It's possible the key is bad. You can go to System Preferences>International>Input Menu and check "Keyboard Viewer" and "Show input menu in menu bar". This will install a little flag in the menu bar. You can click on it and on "show keyboard viewer" and it will highlight the keys as you type. If a key doesn't highlight, it likely doesn't work any more. I think you need to replace the entire keyboard, but you can do it yourself and it is not difficult. You should be able to get a replacement from Apple.
    Good luck!

    1)   Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
    2)   Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Follow these steps to reset your device

  • New AlKeyboard - "O" key not always registering - no forum for these?

    Hi,
    I just bought one of the new Al Keyboards and have noticed that the "o" requires a bit more pressing than normal. If I hit it square on just pressing it on its own there are no problems, but I'm quite a fast touch typist and have noticed that more than often I have to go back and re-type in all the "o"s as they weren't registered! Could this be to do with the fact that the O is pretty much in the centre of the keyboard where the curvature is?
    Maybe it's just me, and if so will (annoyingly) will have to relearn typing making sure that that key is always pressed harder...
    Many thanks
    Ben

    It might be that you have a faulty keyboard. You might consider taking it in to the local Apple service rep for repair/replacement.

  • GT70 Dragon Edition: Mic not working

    Hello there!
    I'll try to make it as clear as possible, let me know if something is missing.
    Laptop: MSI GT70 0ND-474FR Dragon Edition
    OS: Windows 8 64bits
    Headset: Siberia V2 (included in MSI's accessory pack... it's very good)
    I cannot use my external mic. Windows finds it, it is recognized as a mic, but whenever I try to use it, it only picks up kssccchh noises. No voice at all. If I try to poke the plug, I can "hear" the poke when recording (so I guess is it responsive to physical contact, but not voices).
    The problem happens with any Realtek driver and any headset.
    Yes, I selected the "Stereo" setting in the Realtek panel, not "7.1".
    The built-in mic works. The audio output plug works. So, only the input plug has problems.
    I already sent my laptop to the customer service. I think they did a factory reset, and it was "fixed" when I got it back. But a few days later, the problem appeared again.
    I think is it related to an automatic BIOS or Windows update.
    Any ideas? Perhaps is there a way to restore the good, old, working factory BIOS?
    Thank you!

    Is there only a single audio jack for the headphones and then a jack for the MIC?
    Yes.
    When I said "Quadraphonic", I meant the Realtek panel setting. Stereo is the usual one.

  • GX600 4 months old, keyboard Spacebar delete keys not always working!

    Hi There,
    4 months ago I bought this gx600 gaming notebook and for some valid reason my keyboard space bar and delete buttons are not working anymore as they should be. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. It is very unpredictable. I noticed that if they are frozen and i keep pressing them, they wont work for a long time I have to press another key repeatedly and then one of them till it works again. It is very annoying since I can't do anything without it and it loses the notebooks portability.
    I uninstalled nearly everything, and I even tried in safe mode but same issue happens. Any ideas? I would greatly appreciate if someone helps me since I'm getting very upset and frustrated about this. Its a new laptop and I've been taken very good care of it.
    Thanks.

    Notebooks that are build by MSI can be RMAed to MSI directly.
    MSI can verify if they are based on the serial-number, regardless of where you bought it.
    But it's best to check your local MSI pages about this, they usually contain information about the proceedings.

  • Active screen corners do not always respond

    Sometimes, maybe due too high CPU load, or switching displays my Active screen corners do not respond.... Hitting the F9-F12 buttons do active expose, but only after re-initializing the displays (put it in other refreshrate or so), my active screen corners start reponding...
    Bug? Or am i missing something?

    Well, that seems to be a genuine bug, coz i've got the same thing (also after disconnecting an external display and putting my Macbook to sleep).

  • Screen not always responding right when plugged in?

    I notice occasionally my screen just goes crazy. I'll be touching in the middle and it ends up actually touching done (no where Near where anything was touching). At first I thought it was the Body Glove case I have, so I removed it.
    This doesn't always happen either, which is strange. After using the phone for a while though, I've noticed it only has happened while plugged in (Just to the wall, I don't plug it into the computer because I'm at work). As soon as I unplugged it, I could enter the text I needed and it was fine.
    Is this happening to anyone else? I'm trying to find out if it's a real issue, or if I maybe just have a defective phone.

    This happened to me one day...but I had it plugged into the work computer to charge...as soon as I held my finger in it (like in imovie) the screen would start jittering...but as soon as I disconnected it, it would work fine. This is only at work (PC) but not at home (macbook pro). Not sure why that is though.

  • GUI / Hot keys not always typical

    The Save Files dialog box "Package XYZ has been modified. Save changes?" has Yes / No / Cancel buttons.
    The Y and N letters are underlined. In windows (my environment) that normally means that a Y or N pressed will take that option. In the SQL Developer GUI, it needs to be an Alt+N or Alt+Y keypress.

    Please check Keyboard Shortcuts
    "In Internet Explorer, application access keys override any browser-specific menu access keys (such as Alt+F for the File menu), and this can be a usability issue for users who habitually use browser access keys. Thus, you must not use access keys that conflict with the top-level menu access keys in ADF Faces-supported browsers (for example, Alt+F, E, V, A, T, or H in the English version of Internet Explorer for Windows XP)"
    Nevertheless, don't think having to press "Alt+A" 3 times is a good idea.

  • Losing bits of data and touchscreen not always responding accurately Palm Tungsten E2

    Odd malfunctions occurring in my 2.5 year old Tungsten E2 - not sure if they are related...
    1. I have started to lose contact information - in the last three days 2 client files that have disappeared.
    2. Occasionally receiving the message "your battery is low and you may lose data" except my battery is fully charged
    3. The touch screen is inaccurate - more and more often the scrolling feature does not work or will not give me the right contact. Cannot get the file or function I am choosing. Have tried soft booting and recalibrating the stylus to no avail.
    I stopped into a retail store that carries Palm wondering if it was a battery issue, but they did not think so... also tried running the DbFixit program with no results.
    Thanks for any help!

    With this issue, it will be 1 of 2 things. The software is corrupted on the device, or there is a hardware/multiple hardware issues on the device. Have you done a hard reset? This will remove all data from the device and bring it back to how you go it out of the box. With this I would start there. If you do not know how to do one go here.
    Post back if you have more questions.

  • MouseClicked() not always responding

    My problem is pretty much what the subject says. Sometimes I have to click the mouse multiple times for the mouseClicked() method to be called in my applet. I know that it is for sure not getting called, since i have drawString() methods keeping track of the numbers which are affected. is there any way to make sure that it is called every single time the mouse is clicked?
         public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent e){
              int x = e.getX();
              int y = e.getY();
              if (!(y > 299) && player.numBullets() > 0) {
                   player.shoot();
                   levels[curr_level].addShot(x, y);
         } // mouseClicked()
    thats the method, in case it might help.

    I was having the exact same problem before.
    The thing is, if you press the click button and drag (even a pixel away from the initial click) the mouseClicked method isn't called.
    So instead of using mouseClicked use mousePressed.
    The problem with this is that if your user clicks something and holds onto the button and drags away then lets go (say he changed his mind) the mousePressed is called anyways. But, from your code, it seems like that won't matter.
    But if it does, you can use both with a bunch of if statements. But i'm sure there's a better solution (i'm fairly new to java myself).
    Hope this helped.

    I have a 12" powerbook, german keyboard layout and I have a problem with my "Umlaut U" key and my Arrow-up key. But only in certain applications and also not permanently. Sometimes they work, sometimes not. Its not a hardware problem due to the fact that the keys immediately respond when i switch to another app.

  • Certain keys not working envy dv7-7304tx

    My keyboard will occasionally lose the ability to register certain keys when pressed. In particular, the top row of number keys will frequently stop working. For instance, at the moment the five, six and dash will not work, and fifteen minutes ago none of the numbers in the top row would. The right-side number pad also will occasionally not work. After a short time everything will work again normally, but it happens pretty frequently and can be very frustrating if you need some work done in a hurry.
    As I write this, I've tried the 5 and 6 keys and they're working now, but when I started to write it they would not. Has someone else had similar issues? Is it the hardware or something I can address myself?

  • BUG: KEYBOARD SHORTCUT KEYS DO NOT ALWAYS ACTIVATE A SERVICE (A WORKFLOW)

    BUG: KEYBOARD SHORTCUT KEYS DO NOT ALWAYS ACTIVATE A SERVICE (A WORKFLOW)
    When you assign a keyboard shortcut to a Service (such as a Service Workflow created in Automator) using the System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts, if that shortcut key combination includes the Command key, pressing that shortcut will always successfully activate the Service. No problem there.
    However, shortcut key combinations that do not include the Command key (for example, the shortcut key combo Ctrl-Shift-D) WILL NOT activate the Service in any newly opened application, until you click on the Services Menu option in that application.
    As soon as you click on the application's Services Menu, this seems to bind the shortcut key combo to the Service, and thereafter, that keyboard shortcut will activate the Service in that particular app. But if you then quit and reopen the app, you'll find the Service will once again lose its binding to the shortcut key combination and will thus fail to work again.
    This means that shortcut key combinations such as Ctrl-D, Ctrl-Shift-D, F15, Alt-F15, etc are not really viable shortcuts for Services, because they will not work in any newly-opened application until you click on the Services Menu in that application.
    This bug thus greatly limits the shortcuts that you can employ for Services, because you can only reliably use shortcut key combos that contain the Command key. This is a fault that Apple really needs to fix. This is a very old glitch: I notice it is present in Snow Leopard 10.6.8, as well as Yosemite 10.10.1.
    This bug does not apply to application shortcuts, however, or to other shortcuts in the Shortcuts Preference Pane, just to Services shortcuts (including the Mac's default Services, or any Services you make yourself using Workflows on the Automator software).
    To give some examples:
    The following keyboard shortcuts for Services WILL NOT work until you click on the Services Menu in the application you are using (and they will cease working again when you quit and reopen the app):
    Ctrl-X
    Ctrl-Shift-X
    Ctrl-Alt-X
    Ctrl-Alt-Shift-X
    Alt-X
    Alt-Shift-X
    F1, F2, F3, etc
    So until Apple fixes this bug, the above type of key combinations, that do not contain the Command key, are best avoided as shortcuts for Services. It is particularly unfortunate that function keys F1 to F19 do not work reliably, as these would make great single-key shortcuts to Services.
    However, the following sort of keyboard shortcuts for Services, all containing the Command key, once set up will always work without fail:
    Command-Alt-X
    Command-Ctrl-X
    Command-Shift-X
    Command-Ctrl-Shift-X
    Command-Alt-Ctrl-Shift-X
    Command-F1, Command-F2, Command-F3, etc
    So all the above can be reliably used as shortcuts to Services.
    Here X denotes keyboard keys such as A, B, C, 1, 2, 3, =, \, [, etc.
    Note that even for keyboard shortcuts containing the Command key, you may very occasionally need to click the Services Menu to get them to work initially in an application (notably in the System Preferences application itself). But if this is necessary, it is just required once when they are first set up, and thereafter the shortcuts containing the Command key will always work without fail.
    The above was tested on Yosemite 10.10.1, but most likely applies to other versions of OS X as well, as I believe this bug is an old one. This bug is definitely present in Snow Leopard 10.6.8, because I have observed this same fault in an old Mac I have that runs Snow Leopard.
    I have reported this bug to Apple, so hopefully they will see my report and act upon it. However, it might be an idea if others also report this problem of Services shortcuts not working property, to ensure that Apple get the message. You can report a bug to Apple via their bug feedback page here.

    Exactly where do you want to use a GO BACK "shortcut" in Bridge?  Maybe I don't even understand what you mean by Go Back.  Bridge is only a file browser, nothing more. It doesn't open, edit, manipulate or save files at all.
    Are you simply referring to going back to view a folder that you viewed before?
    Please don't take this a criticism.  As someone who will gladly pay money not to have to learn any shortcuts at all, I'm just puzzled and curious, that's all.

  • HT1338 My MacBook Pro (running Leopard 10.5.8) won't allow keyboard to type an upper case 'C' using the shift key...works fine with caps lock, or, with my Typinator workaround using double-typed lower case c (not always best). Any ideas?

    My MacBook Pro keyboard won't type an upper case 'C' using the shift key... only with caps lock. Workaround has been to use Typinator by typing a double lower case c, not always the best solution. Mac is a refurbished model, which initially was fine. Apple tech helped me correct the quirk when it first appeared, but now it has returned and refuses fixes. Any ideas?

    I'm willing to bet that this has something to do with iCloud.  I've been facing a frozen computer nearly every time I go into it.
    In Activity Monitor I have seen two programs associate with iCloud that take up about 2.5 GB of memory (I only have 4 in the computer) -- causing everything to freeze.  One of these is called "iCloud Helper" and the other one is something like "Address Book Sync helper" -- I see parts of these names in the stuff you have posted.
    I am at my wits' end with these and have written to Apple asking them to do away with these or fix them.  To get rid of the Address book sync thing I have gone into system preferences for iCloud and unchecked Contacts -- but then spontaneously it gets rechecked.  And oftentimes after I Force Quit the iCloud helper, it spontaneously turns on again.  My conclusion --- the iCloud is basically unusable.  It turns a Mac into the most useless, clogged, sluggish PC.  If this is happening to a lot of people's computers -- and I see no reason why yours or mine should be an exception -- these programs just might destroy Apple itself.
    So -- I'm about to completely give up on iCloud, and I suspect that others will too unless this gets fixed.
    Cheers,
    Bob
