Gtk-WARNING org.gnome.SessionManager not provided by any ,service file

hello,
I get this warning when I run gedit :
Gtk-WARNING **: Calling Inhibit failed: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.gnome.SessionManager was not provided by any .service files
gedit works fine but I am just afraid that this might cause other bigger problems .
thanks

[offtopic]great replies so far[/offopic]
If you're running a gnome-session and you get that warning, then something might be wrong, but if you're running gedit without gnome it's kinda obvious why there is no session manager.
It says it's trying to call the Inhibit method. That's probably to buy some time from the session manager at the end of the session in case there are any unsaved documents (and maybe other user data such as preferences). So if you close gedit yourself (or at least save your changes) before logging out/shutting down, you should be fine. (gedit will probably try to save changes when it gets SIGTERM anyway, but if SIGKILL follows very quickly, that can fail.)

get rid of hal, is not needed since gnome 2.30. it think it fails to start because of export GTK_IM_MODULE="ibus". Do not export any GTK_ since this variables are used by gtk2 and gtk3.
it will be nice to paste the whole log and not only this warning

  • Adobe Acrobat XI will NOT read aloud any pdf files

Ever since I upgraded to Marvericks, Adobe Acrobat XI will NOT read aloud any pdf files. How can I fix this. It previously worked fine.
I create tagged pdf files in InDesign to be compatible with 508 accessibility standards. The files read aloud on a Mac with OS X Lion but not on Mavericks.

no, still no resolution. It is very frustrating. I did have one 8 page document that it will read the first page but nothing else.
    Did you find an answer?

  • For some reason Firefox is not opening up any pdf files, do you have any suggestions on how to current this problem.

When I go to a website and they have a pdf file to download, Firefox will not open it. I have to go Internet Explorer to open the pdf file. Do you have any suggestions because I prefer to use Firefox.

You may have ad / mar-ware changing your settings.
First, check the programs that are on your computer
'''Windows:''' Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs.
    '''Mac:''' Open the "Applications" folder.
    '''Linux:''' Check your user manual.
Go thru the list. If you find something that you don't
know what it is, use a web search.
    '''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware Troubleshoot Firefox Issues Caused By Malware]''' {web link}
    Bookmark and use this;
    '''[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/ Mozilla Search Reset]''' {web link}
This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and
then resets your search preferences and home page to their
default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the
search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.
    '''[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/settings-guard Settings Guard for Firefox]''' {web link}
Detects and resets changes to settings that are frequently done

  • Migrating HR Org Management data.... any help files etc.

    Hi,
I am familiar with migrating HR master data, payroll data, NI data, i.e. infotypes etc.
I would like to know if anyone can give me a heads up on migrating Org management data, and positions data. Is there any abap involvement for this or is it purely a functional issue?
What are main transactions for this? Can it be done with lsmw? Is there a standard procedure for migrating org mgt data?
Any advice and assistance greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

I am using tcode PP02 and then entering values for
    Plan Version,
    Object Type,
    Object ID,
    Infotype,
    Subtype,
    Planning status, and
    Validity.
Once I hit create icon "Create Relationships" screen comes up here I have to enter Type of related object, which I can select from a drop down list. This field is P1001-SCLAS. Which is of 2 characters, but when I see a drop down list its a description which is more than 2 characters. How can I populate values in this field using BDC  or Recording. the value I am reading from a file for this field is k or s ... but same field has a drop down list with descriptions but not k or s...., its kind of hard for me to imagin how this field can be populated. When I run a session in SM35  I am getting an error in BDC session as " No batch input data for screen MP100100 2000 ".When I look Converted data in LSMW its k or s ... but not description this is obvious.
      Thanks.

  • [Solved] [Gnome 3.4.1] Gnome shell not working.

After updating Gnome, it won't start. It is a bit weird because in xsession-errors I have this:
/usr/bin/gnome-shell: error while loading shared libraries: libcogl.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I said OK. I can downgrade that package because I had libcogl.so.9. But after downgrading it wasn't working and in log was:
/usr/bin/gnome-shell: error while loading shared libraries: libcogl.so.9: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I really don't know what to do. Btw Arch X86_64.

  • NBA-TV Advertised on FIOS-then not provided

I recevied several advertisements for FIOS that showed "NBA-TV" as coming soon to the service. Yet, there has been no addition of the NBA-TV channel.  Why was it in your advertising, but now is not provided on your service?
    Jeff

It should be live by the start of the season (along with the remaining League Pass channels)

  • Could not save Preferences because the file is locked?

Every time I launch Photoshop I have to reload third party extensions, and re-do preferences settings.
When I quit, I get a warning icon.
Could not save Preferences because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the ‘Get Info’ command in the Finder to ensure the file is unlocked and you have permission to acess the file.
    Any ideas?
    thanks

Solved it after 8 hours of trying.
Hold down "Command" "option" and "shift" keys and open Photoshop. It will ask if you want to delete settings. Say Yes. You will have to reset everything but it clears the problem away instantly.

fixed - the problem was with the system settings > Region and language
All needed to be set there...

  • Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.

Hi, I'm pretty new to Linux and I could really use some help on this one! This is my second Arch install. After the first, which I installed to learn about Linux,  I figured there'd be more user-friendly and complete distro's (like SUSE, Debian, etc.). I was wrong
Anyway, this is my second install, but ever since I installed it (and X11, ati-fglrx, gnome and gnome-extra) certain apps give my this error when run from a console. All of them start and work perfectly, except one: gnome-keyboard-properties. I fails to run and starts a bug buddy report window, while outputting the following messages on the console:
    [***@*** ~]$ gnome-keyboard-properties
    (gnome-keyboard-properties:4727): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
    Using the fallback 'C' locale.
    (gnome-keyboard-properties:4727): Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library
    (gnome_segv2:4728): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
    Using the fallback 'C' locale.
    (gnome_segv2:4728): Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library
    (bug-buddy:4729): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
    Using the fallback 'C' locale.
    (bug-buddy:4729): Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library
** (bug-buddy:4729): WARNING **: Couldn't load icon for Open Folder
Failed to read a valid object file image from memory.
I've generated the en_US.utf8 locale using locale-gen, edited rc.conf accordingly and I used the hwd-generated keyboard entry for xorg.conf that worked on my previous install.
I've been trying things with my xorg.conf. I used to leave XkbLayout and XkbVariant empty, like in the hwd-generated example, but now I'm using this:
    Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier "Cherry"
    Driver "keyboard"
    Option "CoreKeyboard"
    Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
    Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
    Option "XkbLayout" "us"
    Option "XkbVariant" "intl"
    EndSection
This has a noticable effect: both ' and " require an extra spacebar hit. Pretty anoying, but this at least shows is had effect on gnome. Also, the Keyboard Indicator Applet shows the layout correctly.
I've tried other things, like uninstalling gnome and gnome-extra using pacman -Rnd as to leave no trace, and reïnstalling it. And I can't find anything on Google...
    PS I'm running this on an athlon64 with a radeon x700, ftp-install from a 0.7.2 i686 base CD.

I've done a total reïnstall - again. gnome-keyboard-properties works again! However, I still get these errors when opening Gtk-apps:
    (gksu:4669): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
    Using the fallback 'C' locale.
I've left xorg.conf's XkbLayout emply, which defaults to "us". There's a related option called "KEYMAP" in rc.conf, which has "us" as default, too. As I said, gnome-keyboard-properties now works and correctly displays "Generic 105-key.." etc. and "U.S. English".
I think I now have /etc/hosts' loopback correctly setup:
    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain myhostname
    192.168.x.xxx myhostname.localdomain myhostname
I'm really out of ideas here. Does anyone know whether this is normal or harmful?
    [[ EDIT ]]
Solved. I actually forgot to generate the locales this time. I don't know what it was last time...

  • How to get rid this Warning=Sales order (SOBKZ = ) is not provided for this

    Dear Concerns
In MB1C, Mov Type=521E, and the batch no=A.
After entering all the required entries the systen gives me the warning and the system  save the transaction after pushing the enter button five to six times.
Sales order (SOBKZ = ) is not provided for this goods movement.
I want to get rid of this warning .
So that the system could save the transaction in one click.
    Regards:Vijay

    Hi

can i make my sales order item cate mark with the special stock indicator and
does it help to solve my problem
Yes this will only solve the problem. You need to mark your sales order item cate with special stock indicator E
Then PGI will be smooth otherwise you can expect problem

  • (gnome-session:4336): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display.

I'm having troble getting gnome running on my system.
    When I'm running gnome-session Im getting (gnome-session:4336): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display.
The exact same setup will allow me to run xfce4 without any problem.
I did manage to start gnome once with gdm, but then nothing but rightclick on the mouse and the desktop icons would work, and after that one time both gdm and gnome wont work.
I just did a base install of arch 0.7, xorg, gnome, nvidia and sound drivers.
Also, if I put exec gnome-session in my .xinitrc file I get a Fatal server error: Requested entity already in use.

the .xinitrc it is executed by the X window system after the X Server is started
if you run gnome-session from a console shell and there is no X server started, it cannot open the display...
the X server is normally started during "startx" or "xinit"

It means what it says. Your agents are no longer providing information to the oms, so info for any metrics you have set is no longer being collected.
Check the agent logs. An example as to why this could happen is the agent has run out of space and it disables collections to save blowing the file system

  • [Solved] Gnome-Terminal Not Working

I recently installed Arch Linux and got the Gnome Gui working but when I tried to open the default terminal it started to load then quickly ended I looked a "solution" which said to type gnome-terminal into xterm so I did and it came up with:
(process:766): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library. Using the fall back 'C' Locale.
Error constructing proxy for org.gnome.Terminal:/org/Terminal/Factory0:for calling StartServiceByName for org.gnome.terminal: GDbus.error:org.freedeop.Dbus.Error.Spawn.ChildExited: Process org.gnome.Terminal exited with statu
and with I typed locale -a I got this:
Locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory
and it said the same thing for LC_MESSAGES and LC_COLLATE

Not helpful. Provide some detail as to what you tried; don't be a help vampire...
    I have /etc/locale.conf
    # localectl set-locale LANG="en_US.UTF-8" that didn't work
    (Try to regenerate locales first:
    # locale-gen
    And then:
    # localectl set-locale LANG="en_US.UTF-8"
    reboot) that didn't work
    localectl set-locale didn't work
(quoting alphabeat) All you have to do is edit /etc/locale.gen(/quote) didn't work
    Sorry if this is unhelpful

  • [NOT SOLVED] Gnome will not start

I'm editing this original message by way of summing up so that anyone coming here with a similar problem will know what to expect if they read further:
I believe the reason Gnome would not start on the machine in question was that it made too many demands on the available hardware (see desm0te's comments below).
For this reason I decided to switch to LXDE as Desktop Environment which works well on the restricted hardware. I did not investigate the Gnome related problem any further.
    The original message follows:
After a successful installation of the basic command-line Arch according to the Beginner's Guide, I went on to install Gnome according to instructions in the Wiki.
I Did not want Gnome to start automatically but only when I type in the command startx.
This it does, but all I get is the nice blue "curtain" background - no black bar at top of screen with Actions, date , name etc...
    and no cursor.
One funny thing was - this afternoon while I was concentrating on another machine - the black bar suddenly appeared (apparently for no reason) showing the date and my name but with the X cursor
from the X11 environment. However as soon as I moved this cursor to the bar and clicked, both dursor and bar disappeared never to return .
I decided to redirect the stderr of startx to a file in the hope that it would give a clue as to what was wrong.

If this gives clues could someone please point me in the right direction? Are the two EE messages significant (Failed to load modules "vesa" and "fbdev"). What is Clutter*? What should I do to get it initialized?

    desm0tes:
To take your points one by one:
    1. I am now quite happy with LXDE too. The problems I mentioned last night seem to have gone (???!!!) and I can just start LXDE from my user account. Maybe later, I'll realize what I was doing wrong or rather what I did to make it work... . Now I just type:
    startx
    having put:
    exec ck-launch-session startlxde
    in .xinitrc.
    2. Thanks for the tip about yaourt. I shall try that sooner or later.
    3. Well as I said - I don't understand what I was doing wrong -  which makes me feel a bit stupid and is rather annoying but looking on the bright side it's fine to be able to start-up, have a legible screen and logout successfully - which I couln't do before. I now have to figure out how to expand the contents of LXDE a bit but that's the fun of it!
LXDE starts up nicely with minimal possibilties but I can change look & feel and customize the panel settings.
    "Menu" contains:
        Accessories:
            File Manager
            Image Viewer
            LXTerminal
            Leafpad
            Xarchiver
        Internet:
            Avahi SSH Server Browser
            Avahi VNC Server Browser
        Office:
            ePDFViewer
        System Tools:
            Avahi Zerconf Browser
            Task Manager
        Preferences:
            Customize Look and Feel
            Monitor Settings
            OPenbox Configuration Maanger
            Preferred Applications
        Run
        Logout
All of these start up OK and work, on cursory examination, except the Avahi Browsers which I don't understand and which appear to do nothing as no window appears on screen.
    4. I'm not quite sure I can yet see the use of a login manager such as SLiM, since I seem to get on quite nicely without it but since I've heard it mentioned a lot I'm sure I'm just missing the point.
