GUI_Download Japanase to Excel

Hi,
I need to download Japanese characters to Excel.
I'm using GUI_Download function module to download, when I download as text file .txt, with codepage 4110, the japanese characters are shown correctly.
But when I download as Excel file .xls, with codepage 4110, the japanese characters are shown in funny characters.
How can I solve this?

This is linked to your workstation or to the codepage.
I had the same trouble with russian.
If your PC is not configurated in Japonese, you can have such a problem. To know if it's OK, you can check by connecting you in japonese, if the characters are strange, your workstation is not in japonese. You should ask a japonese to test on his workstation.

Gui_Download export to excel delivering only one row in excel output

Hello,
I am using Vista Os with the SAP front end logon 710 and Office 2007. Also my company is using Ecc6.0 in the server.
I am able to export the Itab data to excel but all the rows are on the first row in Excel.
If i have 3 rows in ITAB then all the 3 rows are on the First row of Excel
I have supplied these parameters

I tried commenting the Field seperator but it didnt change anything. I am still having the same problem.

GUI_Download- Problem in Excel

Hi Experts
I am using the Function moduleGui_download to download data from internal table to excel. My issue is, internal table having 93 records. But Excel having 63 records only. other 30 records are merged into 63rd record.

Arabic Text problem in Excel

Hi All,
I am downloading my data using GUI_DOWNLOAD FM into Excel ,
Here the issue is in excel the Arabic text is displayed as # ,
I have gone through the scn and worked on some suggestions given like to add code page
tab delimiter etc... but could get the desired output..
can anyone suggest me the way to get the Arabic text correct in Excel.

Problem gui_download -Data looks messy without proper column header

Dear SDNers,
Scenario:
Using FM GUI_download to download excel file to Presentation server.
Excel file downloads perfecly fine on presentation server with proper column headers when the OS is not XP/Vista.
Issue:
when i run this program on my system having Windows Vista,Excel downloads but the column header is all jumbled up without proper differetation.
Kindly let me know what the the issue could be?
My Effort:
I did some googling and found that in Function Modules GUI_DOWNLOAD and GUI_UPLOAD.
The form of the file name depends on the underlying operating system.
To make your programs portable to different operating systems, we should use the function module FILE_GET_NAME.
which returns the system-dependent name for an abstract file name.
Kindly let me know if this is correct.
Reason am asking is now i dont have access to code and check the same since i dont have authorization.

How to display more than 12 numbers in one single column of excel

hi,
i lokesh, i am using gui_download for downloading excel sheet. actually during download one of my field contains 18 numbers, so in excel, in that particular column it shows as a 3.0000E18 and also for example: actually property number is 100000000000005263, it shows as a 1.0000E18, if i click on the 1.0000E+18, at the top it shows as a 10000000000000005000. it does not show last 3 numbers like 263.
what i want is during run time i want to display property number as a 100000000000005263 in one column.
any body knows for this solution pls let me know.

Hi,
You're using gui_download to create a file which you then have to import into Excel? If so, then you can format the field as 'Text' during the import process. The default cell-category is 'General', which will treat numeric values as numbers, causing the problem you describe.
If you do not want to give users this task, then one idea is to put some non-numeric character(s) into the cell, e.g. 'PN 100000000000005263' - where PN stands for property number.

In this case if any field having leading zeros it is removed.I want any option in this FM which will retain the leading zeros or any other FM which will do the same.

How to put the header in excel file in GUI_DOWNLOAD

You can have the data in the data tab & field name in the field tab. And so you can download both the field name and the value for the same using the FM u2013 GUI_DOWNLOAD (File type should be u2018ASCu2019).
Hope, you need additional information to be added as the header.
One option: You can call the GUI_UPLOAD twice.
First one with the header in the data tab.
Second one with the option append = u2018Xu2019 with the actual data and header and pass the same above file name as input.

Need to extend header length in Excel file being downloaded by GUI_DOWNLOAD

I have written a program where the data from DSO is downloaded into Excel File which is being saved on my desktop.
Now, i am facing one problem with the length of header and the values.
For eg:
I have 15 cloumns and i have given description for each column ie header name. This header is being displayed only upto 255 characters. If the total length of all the columns header desc exceeds 255 char, then blank header is displayed further.

Error while downloading output in excel format using FM Gui_download

While downloading the necessary output of a Ztransaction in excel format the excel file only shows one 1 record whereas in the output there were 88 records.
When I am downloading it in other formats like Rich text etc. the data is getting downloaded correctly as per the output.
Now this problem is occuring in Production & Quality whereas in Development the excel file is downloading data correctly.
I have compared the code in the different clients as well as debugged it but the code is the same in each case.
There is no data corruption in the final internal table as well.
So what else can be done?....
The data needs to be downloaded as it is in the output in the excel format.
Kindly give me some suggestion and help me out in this regard.

Play with the below importing parameters in the function module "GUI_DOWNLOAD".
WK1_N_FORMAT - Format for value columns in files of the type WK1
WK1_N_SIZE - Column width for value columns in files of the type WK1
WK1_T_FORMAT - Format for text columns for files of the type WK1
WK1_T_SIZE - Column width for text columns for files of the type WK1.
It might help you I guess. Also read the documentation of those importing parameters by clicking on the long text green icon after the description in the IMPORTING parameters tab of the function module.

Download to excel using GUI_DOWNLOAD : Date format

Hi Gurus,
I am downloading the data from an internal table to excel file using FM gui_download. The date field in my internal table is in the format MM-DD-YYYY (stored as Char 10 field). But when it downloads to excel, the date format changes to MM/DD/YYYY. I want to keep original format of MM-DD-YYYY in excel.
Please help, sure points for helpful answers.
should i use FM gui_download only, or is there some Other useful FM.

GUI_Upload & GUI_Download for excel files

Hi experts,
I want to upload excel file into sap. i am trying with GUI_Upload function module. when i see the data it is filled with # and other special char. When i save the excel file as .txt file and then read the txt file. Now i am getting correct data. Is it possible to read Excel data using GUI_UPLOAD directly without changing .xls to .txt.
Also, how to change data in second or third tab of excel file using GUI_Download.

Gui_Download - Suppress leading zero in EXCEL

in my scenario I need to build an excel file in which some of the information they need to be displayed in excel with the leading 0 in front (type-lqua lgort 0701 ) thing does not happen in my view.
I create the Excel file like this:
